Chapter 22
Two Weeks had gone by and it was the sixth week of school. Everyone was awaiting Friday. Well, almost everyone.
"No. No. Absolutely not." (Y/n) said as she was cleaning up her room. "But, but (Y/n). This is the only time they're going to have a really big sale and Collins won't go with me and I have to go get some really important things." Devan pleaded. "My answer is still no. You know I'm not a big fan of really going out plus I've got... better things to do?" (Y/n) said slightly unsure. "That sounded like more of a question than an answer." Devan said. "I really don't want to go to the mall Devan. It's not my jam and from what I've heard Hillary is there all the time, I'm not about that life." (Y/n) said as she sat down.
For now she didn't have any work she just had to wait for inspiration to hit, her publisher said that she should take a long, well needed break. "But, please (Y/n)? I'm begging you. Best friends don't let other best friends down." Devan said with puppy dog eyes. "No, and pulling the best friend card isn't fair. Don't do the-" Devan stared at (Y/n) as he tried to convince her. "No, even the puppy dog eyes can get me to go." Devan sighed in disappointment. "Fine. I guess I'll have to use your only weakness." He said looking at her with a smirk. (Y/n) drew her eyebrows in for a moment in confusion. "What do you-" But it was too late. (Y/n) was tackled onto her bed as Devan began tickling her. "Hahaha-no-no this isn't ahahahaha- this isn't faiahahhaha-rr!" She protested. "Fine. Hahahahfine I give! I'll go." (Y/n) said. Her throat sore from laughing. Devan smiled.
And for a moment they did one of those cliche things, looking into each other's eyes. That was only for a moment though because then Devan smiled goofily and started laughing, it was slightly maniacal. "I win!" He shouted. (Y/n) sat up, her (Y/c/h) slightly disheveled. "Yeah, you win." She coughed for a second then turned her attention back to Devan. "Also where's Collins? Usually both of you are together." "He's editing and told me that he didn't need help. He also told me to bring you a Keyper hoodie." Devan said. Smiling mischievously. "Oh, that makes sense but where's the hoodie?" (Y/n) asked. "That's the fun part I hid it." (Y/n) raised an eyebrow. "Why? How is that fun? I just wanted to get a hoodie." (Y/n) said with a slight pout. Devan smiled as he stood up offering her his hand. "Come on. It's like the hot and cold game. Plus Collins is busy." (Y/n) grabbed his hand as he tugged her up and they walked down to the living room.
(Y/n) began walking in the opposite side of the room. "COLD!" Devan shouted as he went up the stair case. She continued walking in different directions and eventually followed him up the stairs. Eventually they entered the guest room. "Warm, warm. COLD!" (Y/n) continued around the room as Devan smirked in the spot he was sitting. She eventually that as she got closer to the bed the warmer it go. Warm! Warm!" Devan shouted as she got closer to his feet. She checked under the bed. "Warmer. Warmer." (Y/n) looked at him suspiciously as she stood up. "Warmer. You're getting hotter. You're on fire!" Devan shouted. (Y/n) gave him a dubious look.
"Are you wearing the hoodie?" (Y/n) asked with a raised eyebrow. "Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! Ding! We have a winner!" Devan shouted as he ran around the room pulling off the hoodie. He threw it at (Y/n). She smiled slightly and pulled it on. "Question: why were you wearing it?" "Answer: I knew it'd be harder for you to find it if it was in front of you the whole time." Devan said with a stupid smile.
Devan's P.O.V.
"Answer: I know it'd be harder for you to find it if it was in front of you the whole time." Translation, 'I just like the thought of you wearing one of my hoodies.' But she doesn't need to know that. I smiled brightly. She looked great, I mean she always does but seeing her in my hoodie make me even happier to see her.
3rd Person P.O.V.
" I just spent twenty minutes looking for an article of clothing you were wearing." "Yup." Devan said. (Y/n) laughed slightly then felt a pang of hunger. She checked the time. 8:08 p.m. "I love how it still looks like it's day out in California even though it's late." (Y/n) said. "Let us go dine!" Devan shouted. "Dinner does sound like a good idea." "I have left overs from last night we can heat up." "You also have netflix and a couch in which we can watch the flash while eating." "Sounds like a plan." (Y/n) said with a laugh.
So they split up, Devan texted his mom saying he'd be back around eleven saying he was going to eat dinner at (Y/n)'s in which his mom sent the smirking emoji, to which he blushed. (Y/n) began heating up the leftovers which was (y/f/f // your favorite food) as Devan took a seat on the couch and started the show. "Whose your favorite?" Devan asked. " Jeremy Jordan duh! " (y/n) said. "Isn' t he from super girl?" " yeah but he was a Newsie first. But obviously Barry. " (y/n) replied. "No way! Iris is the best!" The two continued to argue during the show about who was the better character.
One thing was for certain. Tomorrow would certainly be chaotic seeing as they were going to the same art sale that just so happened to be going on by the H and M where they would also be having a sale in which Hillary would be attending with her friends.
