Chapter 16

3rd Person P.O.V.

"Shouldn't you guys like have disguises or something?" ( Y/n) asked as they grabbed the cart. "Why?" Devan asked. "Because, couldn't you guys get recognized?" "People don't really come up to us in the middle of a target it's different when it comes to malls though." Collins replied.

" Ohhh. Makes sense, makes sense. " (Y/n) said. "Alright so first we're going to the cake mixes and spice aisle." Collins said. " Cake!!! " shouted (Y/n) as she began running towards the aisle ahead of Devan and Collins. "I didn't take her for a glutton." Devan said laughing. " I don't think I did either, bro." Collins said.

They made their way to the aisle. (Y/n) was already looking at the cakes. "I should bake something..." ( Y/n) mumbled to herself. Collins over heard her and laughed "Is there anything you can't do?" "Well I barely passed math and science. Like I got A's and B's I just in general didn't understand that much and wasn't really good at it. The information didn't really stick in my head. Then there's knitting, crochet, pretty much any sport in existence, I'm terrible at sudoku, ect. " (Y/n) said. "But I do like to bake. I'm also not very good at dancing even though I'm good at ice skating. I'm clumsier off the ice than on."

"You should bake something for Thanksgiving." (A/n: I don't remember officially establishing a specific date so it's going to be November 3rd, correct me if I'm wrong and I said it was a specific month please please tell me, I love you all 💓) "Yeah, I'll able you guys something. It won't be a prank or anything." ( Y/n) said recalling what previously happened with Collins.

"Alright we should get as much pancake batter as possible, and food coloring." Collins said beginning to pile in the pancake batter. Devan picked out all the colors. (Y/n) tried organizing the cart. "Collins don't you think this is a... bit excessive. I mean this is a lot of pancake batter, of course I'll help but why so much?" ( Y/n) said with a chuckle.

"Well, first we're doing a pancake art challenge and we don't want to run out  of batter and there's a good chance of us spilling some or making a mess." Collins said. " Ohh, that, yeah never mind, I'm not surprised. " (Y/n)  said. "Ouch, that hurt. We're actually very responsible and not clumsy." Devan said. "Alright, well then I guess you'll just have to prove me wrong." (Y/n) taunted with a laugh. "Anyways, I got every color that they have." Devan said, directing it to Collins. "Great. Now to get the ingredients for slime." Collins said.

(Y/n) looked around and noticed how empty the store was. "Why is it so empty?" "It's because this is around the time everyone is working so the store is pretty much empty except for a few people." Collins replied. "So you could basically do anything in this store where there aren't associates." (Y/n) said. "Yeah, but I mean what would you want to do?" (Y/n) smirked hopping into an empty aisle. She looked over then did a back flip.

Devan and Collins looked at her shocked. "I didn't know you did gymnastics." Collins said dumbfounded. "I didn't either." Devan said shocked. "I did not take gymnastics. I learned from my friend. If I took gymnastics I would have broken so many bones. I'm very clumsy. In comparison to Collins, I have no self control and am terrible at taking directions and such." (Y/n) replied.   Her (y/c/h) was tousled. "Now my hair's everywhere." (Y/n) said with a laugh as she saw her reflection in a binder.

"You don't put anything in your hair?" Collins asked. "Do you mean like hairspray? Of course not. It makes your hair all crunchy." (Y/n) replied. "Ooh. But what if you're styling your hair?" Devan said.  "I don't really style my hair, it's either braided, in a pony tail, or in a bun. Oddly enough I can't do a messy bun. I am incapable of it. Like anytime I try it sucks. Trust me." (Y/n) said with a laugh. (A/n: True fact, I actually can not do a messy bun, I don't know why, I'm simply incapable, I need help. If any of you are willing to help me learn message me ;) jk but seriously I need help)

"Have you tried to learn?" Devan asked with a laugh. "Yes, I have tried, and failed numerous times." (Y/n) said with a dry laugh.  "I'll fix your hair." Devan said with a bright smile. "You do hair?" (Y/n) asked surprised. "Yeah, how do you think I do mine every morning?" Devan asked in a funny voice. Devan went over and pulled the hair tie out of (y/n)'s soft (y/c/h). "Awww." Collins said. He smirked then took a picture then posted it on instagram.

(Y/n) blushed slightly. She felt an odd sensation when Devan ran his fingers through her hair. "Your hair is super soft." Devan noted. This caused (Y/n) to blush more. "Thanks." "No problem. I'm just going to put your hair in a high ponytail." "Thanks, Dev." (Y/n) replied. 'What is this feeling? So sudden and new? I felt the moment, I laid eyes on you. My pulse is rushing, my head is reeling, my face is flushing. What is this feeling. Fervid as a flame, does it have a name?' (Y/n) sung in her head. 'Wait! Why did this song come to mind when I'm talking with Devan. I don't loathe him. Definitely not, so what do I feel? The opposite? I mean... he's sweet, nice, funny, considerate, good at doing hair, and why am I thinking about Devan when he's literally right next to me?' (Y/n) thought while Devan continued fixing her hair.

"Aaaannnnnnnnddddddd, done!" He declared with a smile. He showed (Y/n) on his phone. "It looks better than my own ponytails. I dub you my new personal hairdresser." (Y/n) said as a joke. "Sure thing." Devan said with a smile. "He took a picture of the two of them and posted it on his Instagram with the caption of 'official new hair dresser for this girl'. "You know I was just kidding, right?" (Y/n) asked with a slight smile. "I know, but I'll do your hair for you whenever you want to." Devan said with a smile. "Thanks, Dev. I'll make you and Collins a cake."

"Cake is always a plus." Collins said. "Cake is great." Devan replied. "Alright, so how much glue do we need?" (Y/n) asked while looking at the varying size of glue containers. "I'd say like six or seven of these?" Collins said pointing to the biggest containers of glue. "Why so much?!?!" (Y/n) asked alarmed at how much slime he planned on making. "It's a secret, you'll find out soon though." Collins said with a smirk. "It's things you say like that, that make me want to not be walking around your house in a carefree manner." (Y/n) said. "Tell me about it." Devan said while helping to grab the glue. "I feel like if someone who didn't know who you guys were or who didn't know why you had so much glue would think we look like a bunch of crazy people with a bizarre obsession with glue." (Y/n) noted as she mentally crossed glue of of her 'checklist'.

"That... does not surprise me." Devan said. They all continued shopping and getting everything they needed. "Alright. Let's go pay because I feel like the more we walk around the more people are going to stare at our cart." (Y/n) said. They had an unusual amount of glue, food coloring, pancake batter, some sour candy that all three of them had never tasted, an unusual amount of shaving cream, and an unusual amount of activator and contact solution.

"We should all go shopping together more often." Collins said. "If we're going to be buying stuff like this then... no."  (Y/n) said as she assisted in loading the bags into the car. "Hey, it wasn't that bad." Devan said. (Y/n) gave him a deadpanned look. "Not. that. bad. Are you kidding me? The lady at the cash register looked at us like we were a bunch of trouble children snorting glue." She exclaimed. When she shouted this both Devan and Collins started laughing. Their faces both a bright red eventually causing (Y/n) to burst into laughter as well.

They eventually made it to the Key household and put everything where it needed to go. "Now, to educate (Y/n) in the ways of slime!" Collins declared. "Oh no!" She shouted beginning to run away but Devan caught her and threw her over his shoulder. "I have a feeling this is going to end up with a big mess. I'll get away next time!" (Y/n) said whilst pouting and crossing her arms while looking at Devan's back. He just laughed. "Keep dreaming, short stack." "Hey, I'm not that short!" (Y/n) said. "Sure you aren't."
