~A quick Recap~
She changed into a black t-shirt and black skinny jeans. She put her hair into a half up half down style. She went and sat down by her piano and began practicing. She paused for a moment feeling cold. She put on the hoodie that was on her bed. It just so happened to be Devan's. She pulled it on and smiled when she inhaled, smelling a familiar scent that was welcoming. She strode back to her piano. She practiced twinkle twinkle little star variations. After she had finished she heard someone throw something at her window.

(Y/n) looked up and saw Devan smiling from his window. He waved an gestured for her to open her window. She smiled shyly but complied. "Hey, Devan." "Hey, (Y/n). You ready for movie night?" "Yeah." She sat down at he India and Devan did the same.
"I heard you playing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star. How long have you been playing?" Devan asked curiously. "Well to be honest I started out when I was four or five years old. I was a concert pianist for a while then I had to stop competing." (Y/n) said. "Do you wanna go back?" Devan asked. "Well, I think it would be nice but what I'm doing now is more satisfying, I guess you could say." (Y/n) said referring to her secret. Devan was confused.
Just as he was about to ask Collins came in. "Hey, bro. Hey, (Y/n)." "Hey, Collins." "Alright, I have an idea. How about we film a YouTube video and do a try not to cringe challenge." "Sounds fun." "I'm in. I mean I don't do anything and technically had no social life so ya know..." (Y/n) said jokingly.
"Cool, I'll start getting the setup ready, Devan you can help me, and (Y/n) you do you and come over." Collins said."Alright, see you guys in a little." (Y/n) waved as she closed her window. She made her way downstairs and decided to get a small snack before going to their house. She went to her refrigerator and filled a container with raspberries, blackberries, and blue berries (A/n: Sorry if you don't like those or if you're allergic, it's just what i'm eating while i'm writing XD)
(Y/n) washed then began eating the berries. She was humming to Jeliclle Cats from Cats because it was stuck in her head. That's when her doorbell rung. (Y/n) brushed a strand of her (y/c/h) out of her face before going to answer it. When she opened the door her (y/c/e) eyes widened with shock. It was Max. He stood there in a flannel shirt and jeans. His untidy blonde locks falling just right above his eyes. His green eyes widened when he saw (Y/n).
"Ice! I'm so so-" Before he could finish she slammed the door. (Y/n) felt herself starting to panic. Her body began trembling slightly. She set the fruit down and slid down on the door. The knocking began and wouldn't stop. "Ice! Ice, come on let me in. Ice!" Max yelled pounding on the door. (Y/n) head began spinning. She covered her ears rocking back and forth. Tears began forming in her eyes.
(Warning the chapter will get intense from here. If you are sensitive to ptsd and/or trauma please scroll down until you see the all clear. Thank you and enjoy. Also now, if you already hadn't, start the music)
"Sweetie, make sure you have your seat belt on." "Don't worry mom, I always do." A thirteen year old (Y/n) said laughing. She brushed a strand of her (y/c/h) out of her face. It was getting dark outside. Mrs. Locke turned on her lights and started the car driving. "So how was your day at school?" She asked. Her darker, softer (y/c/e) eyes shining. "It was... okay. The violin is getting way better though. I now know all my scales and I can memorize ten to fifteen minute songs. Plus I memorized Rondo Capriciosso." (Y/n) said, her (Y/c/e) eyes sparkling with joy.
"You're avoiding the topic. I asked how school was. Is that Hillary girl still bothering you?" (Y/n) timidly nodded her head. "Well, don't worry about it kiddo, I'll talk to the principle and I'm so proud about the violin. When I was your age I wasn't that good." She said smiling warmly and ruffling (Y/n)'s (y/c/h) hair, her eyes remaining on the road.
"Man, it's getting really foggy." Mrs. Locke said as she turned her lights on brighter. That's when they hear car honking. (Y/n) looked up really worried. "Ma, maybe we should take different route. Or stop here for a few minutes. With all that honking there could be an accident." "Don't worry, Sweetie. I'm sure we'll be fine, if fate wants us to get in an accident then let it be so." Mrs. Locke said wisely.
"Ma! Don't talk like that. I love you, I don't want us to get in an accident no matter how big or how small. Don't talk so nonchalantly about something like that happening." (Y/n) said frazzled to her mother. Mrs. Locke chuckled. "It's okay, I love you too, lovebug." (Y/n) looked out the window seeing other cars flashing by. She sighed. That when some lights came out onto the road out of nowhere.
They were driving in a swerving motion. "Sweetie. Don't panic but I want you to get your backpack and hold it close to your chest, okay?" Mrs. Locke said quickly and as calm as possible. She tried moving onto the other lane carefully. (Y/n)'s (y/c/e)'s flashed with worry and fear. "O-okay mom, just be careful." "Of course." They continued driving slowly. All of a sudden the car from earlier started swerving in crazy motions.
Mrs. Locke's eyes widened. She tried swerving out of the way but the car, a black minivan, came directly for them. "AHHH!" (Y/n) shrieked. The car came barreling towards them hitting the side of the car her mom was on causing the car to start rolling over across the road into a grassy field. (Y/n) and her mother screamed as the car began spinning and breaking apart. The windows cracked and some full on broke.
The car was turned over. Other cars started honking and people were running out of their cars to call the police, ambulance, and fire department. "Ma!" (Y/n) croaked. Her arm badly broken and multiple cuts on her arms and legs. A piece of glass was lodged in her left leg. Mrs. Locke had a piece of glass lodged in her stomach. Metal was sticking out from her shoulder. Multiple cuts and bruises. "Ma! Oh my gosh are you okay." "Yeah, lovebug I'm fine. I just want you to know how much I love you. Keep on playing your instruments and skating for me. Tell your father I love him more than he could ever know." She said, wincing in pain. "Ma! Don't talk like that. You're gonna be okay, we're gonna get out of this. Just hang in there for me." (Y/n) said crying from pain and the thought of her mother dying.
"I love you, Sweetie. I want you to have my piano and my violin. Everything is set. Make sure you learn to stand up to your bullies. I-" She began coughing out blood. "I- I know you'll make me proud and you'll change the world. " She said crying. "Ma, this isn't a joke. We'll be fine. People are coming to help us." (Y/n) said sobbing. "You- you can't leave me. I love you too much, mom. Please, just hold on."
"Sweetie, my time has come. Just promise me, if I don't make it, You won't mourn over me. You've come too far in life. Keep going. Change the world." She said coughing. Her eyes began to flutter. "NO! MA! YOU, YOU CAN'T DO THIS. I- I WON'T LET YOU! SOMEONE HELP US. PLEASE! JUST HANG ON. MOM!" (Y/n) yelled, ignoring the pain she was feeling, focusing on her mother. "I- I won't mourn, I swear. Just please, don't leave me yet." Sirens began getting louder and louder. Chaos was everywhere. (Y/n) tried to get out but she was stuck upside down. She kept sobbing and screaming.
Firefighters came rushing to the scene. They pulled (Y/n) and her mom out. They put both of them on a gurney. People were shouting things. The sirens were blaring (Y/n) was crying. "Save her, please. Go help my mom. She doesn't deserve this. SAVE HER!" As the people were trying to restrain her from running to her mom who was going on a separate bus. (Y/n) cried. The siren's managed to make her feel deaf.
(Y/n)started rocking her one arm around her knees the other being held by a medical officer, tear after tear cascading down her face. "She isn't dead, she isn't dead. She's gonna be fine. " She mumbled over and over again. The doctors continued to check her over. "Sweetie, I'm gonna need you to respond, okay. What's you're name?" He asked. "She's gonna be okay, she's gonna be fine." "Sweetheart, can you hear me?" (Y/n) seemed to snap out of her daze. "Yeah, I-I'm fine. My name is (Y/n) (Y/m/n) Locke. I'm thirteen years old. I was just in a car crash and there's a possibility that my mother is dead." She said trembling.
The doctor was shocked. They arrived at the hospital. They took her to the surgery room and performed surgery on her.
(Y/n) woke up in a hospital room. "Where's my mom?" She croaked out. A nurse walked in. "Finally, awake. How are you feeling, dearie?" The nurse asked kindly. Her blonde hair was in a perfect bun. Her brown eyes shone with kindness and care. "Where's my mom?" (Y/n) asked stubbornly. Her dad came running in the room. Tears cascading down his face. "Dad?" He shook his head. "I'm sorry, sweetheart. You're mother didn't make it." The nurse said sympathetically.
"No. N-nn-n-no. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. NO! This-this can't be happening. I-I'm just dreaming, right? RIGHT?" (Y/n) kept repeating over and over again. Her father enveloped her in a hug.
Flashback end~~
(A/n: Feel free to continue reading now^^)
Max ran around the house, going through the fence that was surprisingly open. "Come one, Ice. Hang in there." This wasn't the first time this had happened to (Y/n). These started happening ever since her mother died. They hadn't happened for a while but all the stress of deadlines, school, music, and drama (Y/n)'s mind couldn't handle it. Max began picking the lock of their fence. He managed to to do it successfully. "Just a little longer...." He said.
He ran to the back door. He jostled the door nob. It was difficult but he managed to get in. He ran to the front house where he located (Y/n) on the floor shaking. A bowl of fruit lying next to her. Her eyes were open but she wasn't there. "No. N-nn-n-no. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. NO! This-this can't be happening. I-I'm just dreaming, right? RIGHT?" She shouted. Over and over again. Max ran over and bent down pulling her into his arms.
He hugged her tightly, running his fingers through her silky (y/c/h) hair. "Hey, (Y/n) it's me, Max. Listen everything's okay. Trust me, everything's fine." She continued shaking and hyperventilating. He held her hand to his chest. "Blink if you can hear me?" He asked, his voice slightly strained from seeing her in this state. (Y/n) blinked once. "Good. Now I need you to breathe when I do. Can you do that, Ice?"
(Y/n) blinked and began breathing with Max. Eventually she calmed down. Her face was tear stained. (Y/n) looked up at Max and hugged him tightly. "I'm sorry." She said. Max smiled. "It's okay. You didn't do anything wrong. I'm just glad you're not ignoring me anymore." He said slightly chuckling. They stood up together. "You feeling better?" He asked. (Y/n) nodded, picking up her fruits. "Why don't I hold these for you while you go freshen up?" Max suggested with a bright smile.
(Y/n) nodded, slightly sniffling. She went to the bathroom, washed and dried her face, then returned. "Thanks, Max." She said, her eyes slightly bloodshot. "No problem. I came to apologize. I'm sorry for whatever I did. Will you forgive me?" He asked. "Of course. We were best friends, didn't think I'd give up on you that easily now did you." (Y/n) said smiling slightly, while poking his side. They spent a fifteen minutes in the kitchen talking, eating the rest of the fruits, and allowing (Y/n) to calm down.
"Oof. I gotta go back home, my mom wants me over." Max said. "It's fine, I was just about to head to my neighbors house anyways." (Y/n) said. "My mom wants to know if you want to come over for dinner Friday night." He asked looking at (Y/n). "Sure." (Y/n) agreed. Max and (Y/n) made their way out the door. Just before she locked it Max pulled her into an unexpected hug. She was shocked but eventually hugged back. "Well, I'm off. Bye, Ice." He said releasing her. (Y/n) locked her door and made her way to the Key household.
To be continued.
