X • Chris' POV • X

We all shared a dinner together in the tavern. I insisted not a drop of alcohol be poured, even if it could be some of these creatures final meal. I've never understood the phrase "liquid courage" because I believe it creates fools. I need all of them clear headed for this plan to go through smoothly. Though, does any plan work as you wish it would? With that thought in mind, I have to try my best to keep any extra issues from presenting themselves.

The humans have surrounded the carnival with their armies. All the oracles combined notes, piecing together an image of what we're going into. They managed to make a map out of what they saw, but it was incomplete. Areas were missing. I suppose it's better than nothing. The oracles said, Famine is leading them at this point. He took over the carnival, because Devin's memories made it feel like home. This circus is no different than the one that used to reside in Devin's mind, before it was fixed.

Kuza and Denis are going to take their gargoyles, along with Kylie, to set up a spell wall around the humans. It'll trap them, keeping them from running off and telling anyone of what's happening. Purdy, Ryan-Ashley, and Balz are going to put us on a telepathic network. That way, every move we attempt to make, we can speak of without alerting the enemy. Once the humans are sealed inside the spell wall, we're going to let the demons loose on them. As much as I didn't want to kill them, it's the only way to keep from word spreading of our world. While they distract and destroy the humans' army, the rest of us will head into the carnival.

From there, we're following Angelo's plan. He said the only ones who can truly fight the Horsemen are the souls trapped inside the body's they inhabit. Angelo awaked Ricky's spirit by telling him the one thing he loves most was in jeopardy. Obviously, that started the process that saved my devilish angel. Our hopes are to repeat that with the others.

Once our final meal was finished, I took a good look around at the creatures I will be relying on tonight. From sharp fangs to demonic wings, cat tails to fairy dust, ruby eyes to starry ones, the only debt we owe is death. And tonight, for many of us, death will take what our lives have yet to claim. No victory comes without a price. I am grateful enough, I have souls willing to commit the ultimate sacrifice. It will not be in vain.

"Any worlds of encouragement from our mighty leader?" Beau scoffed, cocking a smile.

Even in Hellish times as this, when our teenage level feuds don't mean much, he's still got to be an asshole. That, was always him. He was arrogant in the smoothest way possible. My old friend, despite the agony you've caused me, you've still fought many good wars by my side. They say if you love something, let it go. If it comes back, it's meant to be yours. I suppose that's true where Beau and the Coven are concerned.

I glanced over at Ricky. He reassured me with a daring grin. I returned my eyes to Beau's, smirking and responding, "Paint your face. Tonight, we terrorize this town."

X • Ricky's POV • X

I cannot believe it's come to this. None have said it, but there's an understanding in the air that tonight is the last stand. If the Horsemen aren't stopped, this world will quickly come to an end. They singlehandedly killed hundreds of people in an hour! Imagine what they could do with a day's time, a week's, a month's! If we fail tonight, they will be unstoppable.

You'd think there'd be more stress on your shoulders, knowing the weight of the world is pressing down on you. Perhaps it's because I'm a small pawn in the plan, or maybe it has yet to sink in. The most likely possibility is, I'm too numb. All I care about is my child, my boyfriend, and my friends. If the rest of the world burns, I couldn't care less. However, this does concern my friends. That is one of my best friends being consumed by these evil spirits! I can't let it happen. It's time to end this.

Chris' words from after dinner stuck with both of us. We took it seriously. As this is our last battle, we need war paint. I painted my skin paler than it already was, causing me to be as translucent as a ghost. My lips were stained pure black and raccoon-like circles surrounded my eyes. I pulled on a tight fishnet shirt, ripping holes in the back for my wings. Having a giant collection of feathers hanging off of you sometimes makes wardrobe difficult.

Though armor won't matter much against a telekinetic, I still took measures to protect my heart and stomach. A padded black vest tightly hugged my body, with a U shaped dip in the fabric to allow my wings to be free. I zipped it up halfway on the left side of my chest, then draped a crystal for strength around my neck. The skeleton key accompanied it, finishing my attire.

"Gorgeous." Chris gasped as he looked at my reflection in his mirror.

I smiled at him, allowing a blush to creep on my face. He stood from the vanity and turned to face me. When he said gorgeous, he must've been talking about himself! His eyes were glowing inside purple eyeshadow. Black lipstick ran under his silver lip piercings, and a slightly torn shirt covered his tattooed torso. Fuck, he was one Hell of a man. I can't believe this is the creature I get to claim as mine! No wonder so many always want his spouse dead.

Chris grabbed my hand, kissing the top of my knuckles. A black imprint of his lips was left behind on my skin, but I wasn't complaining. It's only another reminder what I'll be fighting for tonight.

"Promise me, you'll use good judgement tonight. If you think you and the baby are in danger, get out." He instructed me.

I shook my head. "Chris, we're not letting you go down by yourself. If this goes bad, we're all going down together. We're a team. You, me, and this little trouble maker of ours."

"I think I've got a name for her." He said. I gave him a pleading look, awaiting him to say it. "Mercy."

My eyes lit up. "I love it. I love you."

"I love you too, both of you." Chris spoke to me, straight to my heart. He softly touched his dark lips to mine. As we parted, he said, "Are you ready to dance with fait, my angel?"

"With you by my side, yes." I responded.

We allowed our hands to part and our bodies to leave each other's warmth. Chris began the walk out of our room and I closely followed. As we walked through the hall, the other bedrooms opened. Balz, his eyes painted in charcoal, stepped our with his gorgeous girlfriend by his side. Ryan soon followed suit, with his face coated in the night's colors just as the rest of us.

Kylie came from her room, the widow maker hanging over her in anticipation. She has a look in her eyes of vengeance. The soul eaters are waiting eagerly to steal away her love, but I can tell, she wasn't going to let that happen without a fight. Her and Ryan-Ashley looked like true vampire queens. They had the same look of determination, the rest of us wore proudly.

We gathered in the main lobby of the tavern. The table we had previously feasted at was now covered in Angelo's life work. I recognized many of the items as experiments he had worked on during his years in hiding. Chris still has a sense of hesitance when it comes to the ways of science. He'd prefer to rely on the old ways, but allowed it. We could use all the help we can get.

"Can we go over the plan one more time?" Ryan questioned, his voice fighting a tremble.

He had a right to harbor some degree of fear. We were about to attempt to bring down three of the most powerful evil spirits there is. Of which, have inhabited the bodies of an extremely powerful vampire, a fairy king with many won wars under his belt, and a neko highly trained in all forms of combat. On top of that, we have to get past the United States Army!

Angelo straightened out the map on the table's center. He looked up at Ryan, showing his duel colored eyes. They were accented in red shadow, and his mouth was covered by a bar of black paint. Through his dark lips, he spoke, "I'll let Mike cover the first half."

"Thanks." Kuza snit, cocking his head a bit. He moved closer to the table as Ange moved back. "Denis, Kylie and I are going to try our best to sneak in. There's no telling what equipment the humans have, and how it'll work with Angelo's tech. If all goes as planned, we can get as close as possible and form a triangle shape around the human's barricades. Then, we'll put up a wall of our own. It'll be a spell wall, made to keep humans in specifically."

He looked back at one of the nekos, allowing him to continue speaking. Charlee stepped forward and pointed to a spot at the center of the map as he said, "All the oracles and Ryan are going to try to get to the center of the carnival without the Horsemen attacking us. Ryan is going to use his abilities to manipulate energy, and draw energy from the power lines that run under the fairgrounds. He's going to channel that energy through the oracles, using myself, Ray, and Angelo as kind of conductors to send the energy to the wiccans and telepaths at the boarder."

"From there, myself, Ryan-Ashley, and Purdy will set up a telepathic link throughout all the creatures minds. The gargoyles will help us secure the boarder, and Ashley and Brent will lead the demons in taking down the humans." Balz added.

"Then my boys and I go into the carnival full of deadly spirits ALL BY OURSELVES." Danny over-dramatically expressed. "We'll round up Famine, Conquest, and War and fuck around with them a little bit."

Angelo followed up Danny's booming voice by speaking calmly. "The hybrids will get each alone. We're going to get the Horsemen to attack clones of what the three cared about the most, to try to awake their spirit. For Bret, it'll be his newborn son. For London and Devin, their girlfriends. If all goes as planned, the spirit of our friends will start to fight the spirits of the Horsemen. Find a window when they're in control of their own body, and hit them with one of these."

Angelo pushed forward a small black box that was on the table. There were many more like it, along with necklaces similar to the one Beau trapped Death's spirit in.

"It's an adrenaline shot." Beau said. "You have a very small window to inject it, so be careful. Once it's in, use all your force to push one of these crystals into their chest. It'll trap the evil spirit. JC and Tommy will deal with Conquest, and Chad and Robby will take War. I'll aid Ricky and Chris with Famine, because he is the strongest."

"Then what?" Jeremy asked.

"If all of that manages to go as planned, then we praise whatever God gave us the luck to do it." Chris responded. "If we manage to save them, then we clean up the bodies, and we go home."

"What about the spirits of the Horsemen? Once you trap them, what are you going to do with them?" Jeff, one of the hybrids, asked.

"I'll be taking them." Kuza said, slightly smirking. "I've got... universal hiding spots."

Danny threw his hands up, saying, "I don't give a shit where they go. As long as they're never let loose again so we're never in this mess again."

"We'll make sure of it." Chris firmly stated. He looked to me, letting a huff of frustration leave his mouth. Chris turned his head and kissed me deeply. It was going to be our last kiss, before we fell out of relationship mode, and into a soldier's mentality. He straightened himself out, then addressed everyone. "I cannot guarantee tonight will go as planned. I can't promise a perfect victory, or even a victory at all. I know, I can't honestly tell you we'll all see the sunrise, but the one thing I do know is... We have the will to do this. No words I could ever say, nothing I could ever write, will help you understand this life. We all have come from different battles, and we don't know each others scars, but that won't hinder our ability to end this war together."

Beau pulled his arm from Angelo's waist. He grabbed a few things from the table, putting them into his tench coat. His eyes softened as he said, "It is amazing what can bring people together. Perhaps, tonight, we can bury the hatchet."

Chris stared at him with judgement. He let the tavern clock tick away a minute of silence before he reached across the table, offering his hand to the Devil. "You've been a pain in my ass for centuries, but you've always been just as vicious as me. Do you remember what I told you the day you left the Coven?"

A smirk twisted on his lips. "We may be broken, but you can't kill all of us."

X • Ryan's POV • X

To think, a cold night at the end of October might be my last night. I've fought along side and against humans before, just as I have creatures. Something about tonight felt different from the past. I suppose, the past is a strange place. I couldn't explain it. Everything before, years and years, no longer mattered. Any sense of overcoming fear didn't matter either. I've looked in the face of evil, yet this demon feels so intimidating.

Perhaps, it's because I've got to defeat one of my own brothers. On the inside it may be Famine, but from the outside, he still looks like Devin. Despite Chris leading us, Devin is the most powerful vampire I've ever met. I know what Devin's abilities are, and what they can do. In the wrong hands, they could bring this world to an end. This is our last solid chance to stop him.

Of all nights, tonight was October 30th. All Hallow's Eve. It was still fall, so it shouldn't be as cold as it was. However, it was freezing. As we reached the forest's edge, snow began to brush against my face. It fell whimsically from the hovering grey clouds.

"Bret." Ray murmured, looking up at the sky.

"It has to be him." JC added. "There's no other reason why it would snow yet."

"It means we're close to them. You all have your missions. Go." Chris instructed.

Now was our point to say last goodbyes. The fairies and nekos hugged Charlee and Ray before leaving them with me. Angelo and I painfully parted ways with the others. It was hard to grasp the concept that this could be out last time seeing each other. We have no idea how this night would come to end. I'd like to hope for the best, but nothing ever goes the way you want it.

I sighed, seeing my breath in front of me. The cold doesn't affect me past the point of annoying me right now. Hopefully it doesn't get much worse. I lead the oracles towards a point in the forest's edge where we could clearly see the carnival's entrance. Ashley and Nikki joined us, to help us get through the humans when the time came. Now was just a waiting game.

If we do somehow make it out of this alive and save Devin, he's going to kill us for letting Kylie fight. She knows how and her ability is quite useful, but he's so damn paranoid about anything happening to her. I understand it, because I was the same way with Allie when we were together. He's got to learn to let go a little. Kylie can take care of herself. Her power is she can cause people to see hallucinations, which is pretty fucking useful if you ask me.

She used her ability on a few of the SWAT guys to lead them away from the areas her and the others had to be to set up the spell wall. When the coast was mostly clear, the three cautiously emerged from the thick of trees to find their position. They had to form a triangle around the circus. Obviously highly trained army men are going to notice a vampire and two cosmic entities, though they didn't realize that's what they were up against.

They readied their weapons when they realized these creatures were hostile. Idiot humans. It took barely a wave of Kuza's hand to throw them to the ground. Fuck, he has too much power. Every time I see him use his abilities, it amazes me that one body could hold so much energy. From my eyes, I could see and feel energy signatures. It was apart of my powers to have a sense of sight that was similar to heat readings. And when it came to Kuza and Denis, they were almost blinding to look at.

The ground under us suddenly started to shake. I almost lost my balance, having to grab onto a tree, and Angelo had to grab onto me. It felt like a fucking earth quake! I suppose you should expect that when combining Denis and Kuza's powers. They, along with Kylie, pulled a spell wall from the ground. It looked almost like glass, with writing all over it. However they needed to keep it up, and they only had so much energy to run it by themselves.

I looked over at Ashley, smiling nervously. "Ladies first."

She rolled her eyes and began to rush out the forest with Nikki. We followed close behind, with the ground now steady to walk on again thankfully. I stopped at the edge of the spell wall. It was sparkly, dazzling with magic. The humans tried to shoot at it and pound it down, but they couldn't get through. They and their weapons were trapped by the spell's properties.

I wearily put my hand up to the wall, realizing I could go through. Obviously the humans can't. They were all panicking and what do humans do when they don't understand something? They try to destroy it.

"How do we get through without becoming swiss cheese?" Charlee asked.

I pointed towards Nikki and Ashley, saying, "Bulletproof demons."

They both earned a look of pride for themselves and their species. A demon's skin is bulletproof, which works well in our favor. We knew we had to move quickly though. With their wings spread to provide us with even more coverage, Ashley and Nikki pulled us through the sea of army men. They pushed us through the entrance of the carnival, then turned their backs to block it. The two of them began to fight back the humans. As much as I wanted to help them, we have our own missions.

"Everyone okay?" Ange asked. He kept his voice hushed, as we were now on their territory.

"Yeah," Charlee replied. His tone became darker as he looked ahead. "But we won't be for long."

I followed his stare. Ahead of us, we saw two creatures silhouetted by the heavy fog. They weren't the Horsemen, because they didn't have a tail or wings like London and Bret. However, I did know who they were. It was hard to miss the spikes protruding from 133's head, and I could see Clown from this far away. Why were they here? Their approach to us didn't seem all too friendly, leading me to believe somehow they were against us.

"Reapers." I whispered back to the others. "Why are they-"

"They're hypnotized." Ray quickly replied. "All of them have been, and they're all here."

The figures approached closer, and I automatically felt my heartbeat increase. Fuck. There was no way we could fight them. They're way too powerful.

"Running would be our best option." I muttered, gesturing towards the left.

We glanced towards that direction, seeing another one of them coming for us. His diamond eyes shot fear right through me. The very spiky flail he was swinging around didn't help my confidence either. We were cornered by fucking Jim Root, Clown, and 133.

With a sharp breath, I saw my window of opportunity. I ran towards Jim, dodging his attempt to hit me the best I could. The edge of one of the spikes still caught my arm, but I'll live. I grabbed him by the back of the neck and drained his energy as much as I could without killing him. He fell to the ground, and his defeat angered the other two. They began to run for us, and I signaled for the others to follow me.

I highly doubt I could manage to defeat another one. Getting Jim down was a fucking stroke a luck. I used my abilities to follow the energy signature of the power lines running under the carnival, attempting to find the center of it, all while running from reapers. If we can't lose them, they we'll push them back as soon as we get the conduction set up. I just hope we don't run into anymore of them, or any of the Horsemen.

When we reached he center of the carnival, I couldn't have been more relieved. They were still after us, but we had gotten a good lead. I stopped at the dead center, kneeled down, and got a good feel of what I was working with for power.

"Ryan, hurry the fuck up." Angelo urged me. "They're coming, and they brought friends."

I glanced up from where I was knelt, seeing we were fucking surrounded. Jim had woken up already somehow. He and Chris Fehn were to my right. Sid and Mick were to my left, 133 and Clown behind me, and Corey in front of me. They began to move in on us, and I rushed to pull energy from the ground. I channeled it through my body and threw a force field over us just in the nick of time. Several of them tried to hit it, but got electrocuted in the process.

"Let's hope to God this works." I muttered. "Get in position."

The three of them stepped around me, forming a triangle that would match up with the one surrounding the carnival grounds. I pulled power from the lines running under us, using my body to turn it into pure energy. Then I used the oracles as conductors to direct it back to Kylie, Denis, and Kuza. We've done our part. Now it's their turn.

X • Balz's POV • X

I hated watching my friends out there, in danger and on their own. They may have been together, but they were so far apart and on different missions. I was terrified of the smallest thing going wrong. Anything could, and damn it's hard to find optimism in this mess.

The beams of energy raised themselves to the sky. They were white with traces of gold and silver, and shined like a beacon in the sky. Each of the three beams cast down and connected to one of the creatures holding up the spell wall. That was our cue. Purdy headed towards Denis to feed off his energy, with some of the gargoyles following him to protect them both. Ryan-Ashley began to walk out, but I stopped her.

"Feed off Kuza. His energy is the most stable." I told her.

She looked a little shocked. "Are you sure?"

"Positive. Denis isn't as stable and Kylie isn't as strong as him. Plus, his gargoyles would do anything to protect him. It's the safest option for you and I want you safe." I replied.

Her eyes glossed over as she hugged my tightly. "I'll be fine, Josh. You stay safe, and don't do anything stupid. I know you. You'll do something stupid and I'll lose you."

"I'll try not to." I lightheartedly said. I kissed her one last time before whispering, "I love you."

"I love you too." Ryan-Ashley responded seconds before letting her hand leave mine.

She ran off to go connect to Kuza. I hope he protects her. I'm sure he will, but I can't help myself from worrying. This whole system is very delicate. If one thing goes amiss it could explode or something of that nature.

I stepped behind Kylie, who was using both her hands to keep the spell wall up. The energy coming from Ryan and the oracles passed through her and into me. This fed us telepaths enough strength to connect everyone's minds and help our communication during the mission. A few gargoyles surrounded her and I, going into their stone state to barricade us.

Linking my mind with Purdy's wasn't nice. He's got some nasty shit in that head of his. Weird shit too, but at least he's a stable telepath. I felt whole once again when Ryan-Ashley joined our link. Once that was stable, we extended it to everyone else.

"We should be good now." I said.

"This is fucking freaky!" Ben commented.

"Yeah and I don't want Purdy in my head!" Danny added.

Ash huffed. "I've been in your head before and I don't want to go back. Besides, that's not how a telepathic channel works."

"Good. Wait, WHAT?" He gawked at Ash's first sentence.

"Guys! Not the time!" Chris interrupted. "Ryan, how are you holding up?"

"Not well. We had a bit of a... hiccup." He groaned.

Chris sighed. "What?"

"They somehow hypnotized some reapers to be on their side. Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, Jim Root, Mick Thomas, Clown, 133, Corey Taylor; They're all here and trying to kill us. I have a force field up but I'm not sure how long I can keep it." He explained.

"Fuck." He sneered. Yeah, you could say that again. "Alright. New plan. Demons, head in and join Nikki and Ashley like you're supposed to. Skulk, instead of rounding up the Horsemen, go take care of the reapers. We'll worry about Famine and the others."

"WHAT? YOU WANT ME TO GO UP AGAINST COREY FUCKING TAYLOR? HELL! NO!" Danny yelled.

"You were fine going up against the Horsemen." Bruno reminded him.

"That was different. There were only three, not seven. If a reaper catches you, you're dead instantly."

Jeff groaned. "We're bound to die someday anyways, Snops. Let's have it be for a good cause."

"Ricky, can you fly overhead and give them some help? If you can help them avoid hits, it'll up their chances of surviving that much more." Chris said.

Ricky agreed, not even seeing what his love was doing. It was no different than my efforts to protect Ryan-Ashley. Chris wanted Ricky in a position he wouldn't get hurt. Flying high above the action and playing guardian angel will put him far away from anything that could kill him. Maybe Ricky did realize this, and only agreed because of their child. Either way, I was happy the decision was made.

X • Ricky's POV • X

You'd think keeping your cool while trying to save the world would be easier... Or maybe not. I don't even know anymore! Part of me was panicking, telling me to run, but I knew what the right thing was to do. No matter how scared I was, I forced myself to earn some damn courage.

I knew Chris purposely diverted me off of the team that had to fight Famine. He did it out of love, but I hope his love doesn't turn into stupidity. Him and Beau are extremely powerful and strong creatures. Are they strong enough though? Fuck I hope so. I had to focus on my mission, not theirs. I told him not to do something stupid and get himself killed. I've just got to hope he listened.

As I flew over the top of the circus, I saw what a fucking mess we were in. I carefully maneuvered around the beams of energy being cast above the fairgrounds. There were three connecting down to Kuza, Denis, and Kylie. Three more beams were coming from the oracles, which were directing them off of Ryan. All six beams met at a point in the sky. I tried to avoid their meeting point, because it was radiating heat.

Below me, I could see the demons devouring the humans being trapped in by the spell wall. They were bulletproof, but other weapons might get through their skin. That obviously left room for concern! They kept fighting though, with terror giving them the upper hand. Chris told them to cut a path for him and the others. Brent and Mikey started tossing bodies, alive and dead, out of the way.

The hybrids made their way in first. Once they were in, my job began. I had to guide them through the dark carnival and try to not get them killed. Beau and Chris, along with the remaining fairies and nekos, made their way inside.

"It's dark as fuck in here." JC griped.

"I was just thinking the same thing." I replied. "Even with night vision, I can't see worth a damn."

"Ryan, can you turn on the lights?" Beau asked.

"Yeah-" He began to say, but was cut off.

Danny interrupted, "Do it, but not yet! Daddy Dsnop has a plaaaan!" He sang. "Birdie, can you see all the reapers from up there?"

I took a look around, replying, "Most of them. They're still trying to break the force field, but I don't see 133, Clown, or Corey."

"That's fine. My plan will draw them out. Can you give me a lift to the center?"

"As long as you never call me 'Birdie' again." I groaned and began to fly to their position.

"Care to share your plan with us?" Beau somewhat hissed.

Jeff sighed, obviously used to Danny's shenanigans. "We know what he's doing, don't worry."

I hope so. I'm just playing along. Fuck, even with angel and vampire strength, Danny is a load! I dropped him on the top of the force field that surrounded Ryan and the oracles. The reapers weren't too happy with him being there and instantly tried to attack him. Danny pulled a theatrical cane out of what I swear was thin air. He jumped back as one of the reapers almost hit him.

"Excuse you!" He sneered. "Lights, please."

The huge generators powering the place hummed. Speakers set up around the fairgrounds buzzed as they came back on, killing my ears! Then the lights all came on, revealing how horrid the place really looked. Bodies were everywhere, covered in their own blood and guts. The angel and mother-to-be in me wanted to puke at the sight, but the vampire in me wanted to know how they taste. Fuck!

Danny's voice boomed throughout the emptiness as he announced. "Ladies and gentlemen, creatures, angels, and devils alike, FOR ONE NIGHT ONLY! I'd like to welcome you to WORSNOP'S THREE RING CIRCUS! Featuring, BRUNO THE CAT!"

As his words left his mouth, he gestured towards his left. Bruno ran out, on all fours like a cat, and began to circle the reapers. He was pushing them into more of a circle and was going too fast for them to try to stop him.

"This is no household kitty, my friends. He does not bark, but he does BITE AND STRACH!" Danny somewhat sang. One of the reapers tried to grab him, but Bruno returned the favor. He scratched the reaper up pretty bad, before being thrown off and returning to his circling. "Be careful! He doesn't like his fur ruffled. Next, it is my pleasure to introduce, THE SNAKE HIMSELF, BRIAN! Watch his venom. It'll get you when you least expect it! And last, but certainly not least, the sneaky devil himself, THE FOX, JEFF!"

Jeff and Brian snuck much more than Bruno. Both stood outside the ring Bruno continued to run along. Jeff hissed, almost cackled, like a fox. Following Danny's words, Brian spit some of his snake venom towards the reapers.

"And need I not forgot, your host, the ring leader himself, meee! The one and only, the amazing, the magnificent, Worsnop THE DRAGON!" He yelled and followed it by breathing out fire.

Though this all seemed ridiculous, it bought us more time than I realized. The reapers were completely distracted! Not a single one noticed the others sneaking around the fairgrounds as they looked for the Horsemen. I could see them, but I tried not to stare. I didn't want the reapers to see my attention caught by anything else.

A fight began to break out, now that Danny's act was done. They were hybrids after all. Each knew how to be slick as an animal, and were avoiding hits left and right. Not only were they distracting the reapers from everyone looking for the Horsemen, but they were also pulling the heat from Ryan and the oracles.

"Keeping the carnival lights on is taking away from the energy I'm giving the spirit wall. I need to turn them off." Ryan said.

"It's fine." Chris responded. "I think we found Famine. There's just one little problem."

"What's wrong?" I wearily asked.

"We also found the missing reapers. 133, Clown, and Corey are guarding the tent I think he's in." Beau replied. "Don't worry. We'll deal with it."

"Be careful." I warned.

"Don't worry, Babe." Chris chirped. "We're professionals."

I could just imagine the smirk currently on his face. He's so sly, yet sometimes a dumbass. I rolled my eyes at his idiotic nature, secretly praying he does know what he's doing. The hybrids were doing better than I thought, so maybe I'm just underestimating people out of fear of something going wrong.

Despite catching a few blows, the hybrids were doing fine without my guidance. As I circled the the sky, being careful of the energy beams, I suddenly felt a terrible shooting pain in my abdomen. Fuck, now is not the time to be having cramps. It stopped my flow of flying and I almost ran into one of the beams.

To prevent frying myself, I flew over to one of the tall light posts. The power had been turned back off, meaning it wasn't that hot. The heat that did come from the lights felt nice because it was so cold out. I kneeled down and watched over from here. Whimpers left my mouth as my muscles wouldn't settle down. Goddamn it. To add to my unstable state, I was fucking blinded by a sudden bright light flashing out of one of the tents.

"We've got Bret back." JC said, following what I just saw.

"Get him out to safety." Balz responded.

As I looked around, I noticed two of the reapers stopped attacking the hybrids. Sid and Mick were both reeling, seeming as if they had no idea where they were. They looked around, confused as fuck. My angel hearing caught their conversation to follow.

"WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON?!" Mick screamed.

His natural reaction was to be angry. Of course, it was true reaper fashion. If they fell out of their hypnotic state when Bret was freed from Conquest's control, all the reapers must be attached to one of the Horsemen spirits.

"Josh, two of the reapers are back to themselves. Can you pull them onto our telepathic link thingy?" I asked.

"Yeah, one second... There you go."

The anger continued as Sid snapped, "Who the fuck is in my head?"

"A lot of people." I replied. "Listen to me. We don't have much time. The spirits of the Horsemen of the Apocalypse were re-awoken. They hypnotized you and the other reapers to be on their side. We've defeated two of the Horsemen, but two more are still here. They've still got control over the other reapers. That's why Jim and Chris are trying to kill the hybrids right now."

"And us! What the fuck?!" Mick scoffed just as Jim swung at him.

"We just found London." Robby stated. "Or War... Whatever. We should have more of the reapers free in a minute."

I sighed, watching things get messier down below. "Hurry."

X • Chris' POV • X

As I said before, no plan will go as expected. I guess it could be worse, but having reapers against us seems pretty fucking bad. If they touch us once, we're dead. Even a body like Beau's, that's immune to everything, can be killed by a reaper. They are in charge of death itself, after all.

Beau and I ducked behind some crates as we waited for the reapers to move away from the tent they guarded. I could feel Devin's spirit. It was well and alive, but suppressed under Famine's rule. You'd think years of fighting himself would be enough for Devin to know how to fight another spirit. It appears not though. He may have given up hope, but we're planning on restoring it.

We patiently waited in the chilling weather. Once Bret was returned to himself, the snow stopped, but the fog remained. I knew this thick cloud was coming from Famine. He has Devin's powers. Beau and I were far enough away that the reapers couldn't hear us speak at a whisper. Yes, I could have used the telepathic channel, but I didn't want the others to hear what I had to say to Beau.

"If we get out of here alive, I want you to know I'm giving you my blessing to marry Ange. I can tell, he loves you. He deserves happiness." I lowly told him.

"You assume we're all surviving the night. I appreciate the gesture, but I've run out of lives. Please, just watch over him for me and tell him I love him." Beau spoke, much to my surprise.

I knew someone, if not multiple people, would die tonight. You can't expect greatness without sacrifice. However, of all the creatures, I didn't think Beau would become the martyr. He has done many noble things, but he's also done many selfish things. He's obviously decided he wants his story to end with pride.

"You're willing to leave him?" I questioned.

Beau took a deep breath. He glanced back around the crates to check the reapers position, then turned to me. Quickly, he unbuttoned his silk shirt to reveal a gruesome sight. His flesh was rotting down to the bone. How this man was still standing, I have no fucking idea. Once I had my time to gawk, he covered himself back up.

"Sometimes, we have to kill ourselves so the ones we love can live." He said. "I just want him happy. Though I know he will miss me, he'll at least get a chance to see his girls grow up and he'll get to continue his research."

I glanced down at my watch, seeing the clock turn over to 12:01AM. "Hell of a day to choose to die. Happy fuckin' Halloween. You're a good man, and braver than I'll ever be. I promise I'll protect Angelo, as long as you watch over all of us from Heaven."

"Hm, I don't see a Devil like myself getting through the pearly gates." He muttered with a smirk. Then he looked back around the crates. "They're gone. Now's our chance."

"Time to go out with a bang, Romeo." I teased him.

We both stood up. Beau's eyes flickered as he used his powers to create a clone of Kylie. This better work, because I'm out of plans and options.

"It was nice knowing ya'." Beau snit. "Do me a favor, Chris?"

"Huh?" I replied as we began to walk towards the tent.

He looked me dead in the eye as he said, "Don't pray for me."

A smile curled up on my lips to hear those words. There's the hurricane of a man that I've come to know over the years! Despite decades of hating and fighting against each other, we also served many times behind the same gun. It's an honor to fight beside such a powerful and noble man one last time.

We entered the big top tent. The smell of blood and rotting corpses hit me like a brick wall. Bones lined the striped walls. There was more bodies here than in a cemetery. Famine had taken over Devin more than I knew. His face was fallen in, hair faded to grey, and eyes darker than the Devil's. He sat upon a thrown made of his victims, with Hellhounds at his feet.

"I knew you'd come." His disembodied voice bitterly hissed. "Neither of you could resist the chance to be the hero. Years of blood shed still haunt you both. You think preventing the inevitable will right your wrongs?"

"We aren't trying to clean up our pasts. We're trying to protect our futures." I strongly replied.

Just as the words leapt from my tongue, I heard Röbby in my head. "We have London back."

I smirked. "Give it up, Famine. You're the only one left. All your brothers have fallen."

"I don't need anyone else. And trust me, my false shepherd, your kind will fall just the same. You will bring death to all who follow you." He sneered.

"I hear a lot of empty threats from a man that knows he's already been defeated." Beau scoffed. "If you're so damn powerful, come at us, without any of your guards. Let's go, just one of two."

Famine snickered, as if we were the fools. "Let's dance."

Beau and I didn't change position, as we waited on him to make his first move. He stepped down from his throne of death, grabbing a sharp rose-gold shaded sword. With fury in his eyes, he came towards us quickly. I waited until the very last possible second to grab Beau, and teleport us both out of the way.

What Famine hadn't realized was the clone Beau created of Kylie, was standing less than a foot behind us. Our height had concealed her as we had talked with him. Now, he sees we were not alone. His sword plunged through the clone's chest. Her breath peaked as she lost her life. Obviously, Famine and Devin both were clueless to the fact it wasn't the real Kylie. As far as they were concerned, it was.

Famine grasped her limp body in his arms, frozen. I could feel Devin's spirit with us, and he was angry. Famine, having attached himself to some of Devin's memories, felt pain to watch Kylie's image die at his hands.

"Devin, we know you can hear us." Beau softly said. "You know you can save her. You know you can revive her, but only you can. You have to fight Famine and take control of your body again. It's the only way to save Kylie."

We held our breaths in our throat as we waited on a response. The fog drifted between us and Famine as we waited with hopes. He lifted his head, and both our hearts must've stopped when we saw Famine's eyes staring at us. He dropped the clone's body, along with the sword.

"Foolish men." He barked. "Devin's soul is dead. I am all that remains. I commend your attempts, but now, it's time you join him in death."

With these words he spoke, a fire flicked in his white iris. I hope Beau saw it, though I don't know if he did. Regardless, at least I knew, Famine was lying. Devin was alive in there, and I could feel it. He was fighting and Famine had no idea what was in store for him. Of course, we're the ones that have to take a beating.

Famine used telekinesis to toss us both halfway across the carnival. We flew over the top of tents and stands, landing by the center. As I looked around, I saw more bodies surrounding me. These, were familiar. All the hybrids were out cold or dead. The reapers who had been freed from the curse were also knocked out. Luckily Ryan and the oracles were doing fine, but their force field was beginning to fail.

Before Beau and I got a chance to get up, we had the remaining tainted reapers hovered over us. The shadows of Clown, Corey, and 133 cast down on us. This is what the end looks like, huh? Not quite yet! My beautiful guardian angel swooped down, grabbing 133 and throwing him. The other two got distracted by this. As much as I wanted to worry about Ricky, Famine teleported to our position.

We both made it back to our feet and readied ourselves for a real fight. Beau flickered up multiple clones of himself to confuse Famine and the reapers. He grinned evilly, motioning his hand towards Famine.

"Is that the best you've got?" He taunted.

Beau glanced over at me a moment. He nodded his head back towards my left. I looked over, seeing Ricky getting a little overwhelmed trying to play a game of keep-away with the reapers. Keep in mind, he was the thing he was trying to keep them away from. As much as I didn't want to hurt them, because normally they are our allies, I had to.

I grabbed Corey by the back of the neck, using my powers to decay on him. It was only enough to weaken him into falling over, but not enough to kill him. He collapsed onto the ground. One down, two to go. Clown unexpectedly swung his fist at me, throwing me back a few steps. Ricky grabbed him and threw him into 133. As they both tumbled backward, I put my hands on them. I did the same rotting process to them that I had done to Corey.

Ricky landed on the ground and wrapped his arms around my neck. Thank God he was alive and safe this far into the mission. It better stay that way! We only took a very brief moment to enjoy the fact the other one still had a heart beat. An agonizing scream disturbed the sounds of fighting we had been hearing.

Turning around, I saw Devin had finally gained enough strength to fight Famine. They were going back and forth, just as I had seen Ricky do with Death before. Beau, however, was in rough shape. His clones had been defeated and he was covered in his own blood. Famine quickly regained his strength. His eyes targeted Beau in an instant.

"Chris, you two get ready." Beau panted as the sweat dripped down his ghostly white face.

I pulled one of the crystals from my pocket and handed it to my angel. A look of sorrow painted him, because he figured out what was about to happen. Fuck, we were feet away from Angelo. Even if he was behind the force field, he was about to see this all.

Beau beckoned Famine towards him one last time. He was much too weak to do anything more. Famine, being the cold son of a bitch he is, didn't care. He just wanted his enemy dead, even if it was a cheap victory. First, he picked up a sword from the ground. Then, he rushed Beau, sending the weapon straight through the chest of a sinful saint.

Famine's eyes filled with color again. Devin took over control when he realized what he had done. I took the split second he was present to drive the needle of adrenaline into his jugular. The toxin consumed his body, and he screamed from the raw power seizing him. I teleported back a few feet, allowing Ricky to swoop in. He landed right behind Devin, forcing the sharp crystal into his chest.

White light blinded us. Though that colorless blare hurt my nocturnal eyes, it meant we finally captured Famine inside the crystal. That moment went by so fast, yet the pressure of it made it feel like it took forever.

As Beau's body fell to the ground, Angelo lost any ability to focus. He broke away from the energy chain they had created. It acted almost like a short circuit, causing the energy to backlash. It hit Ryan hard, which caused him to break focus as well. The entire chain broke and the pure energy flowing through it exploded on or electrocuted anyone connected to it. Ryan and the oracles fell to the ground, now fried by the energy. Luckily they were still alive.

I wish I could say the same for my old friend. Beau's spirit was no longer present. I couldn't sense it at all anymore. To tell you the honest truth, part of me was shocked I could still feel Angelo's spirit. He was shattered, and even to say that, was an understatement. Ricky fell into my side, resting his head on my shoulder as we looked at the bittersweet scene in front of us.

Devin slowly came to. He looked up at us, and saw the pity stained on our worn faces. His eyes fell to what we couldn't find the will to look away from. Angelo kneeled over his lover's body. His tears fell as fast as Seattle rain. The cries leaving his mouth reminded me of myself, the day he had faked his death. There was no faking here though. Beau was dead.

The one creature we never thought could be killed, had now left us. We certainly never expected it. I believe Angelo had counted on Beau's invulnerability as a sense of stability in his life. What do you do when the one thing supporting your life is knocked out from right under you? I knew Angelo loved him, but I believe I did doubt it. Now, I had no doubt.

Angelo's hands shook as he leaned down, gently kissing him. He closed Beau's eyes, unable to let go of his hand. Wherever Beau's spirit has been lifted to, I can only hope it was better than here. Earth is full of the unknown and unexpected. So many tragedies consume it's inhabitants. Whether it be humans or creatures alike, we all feel a range of pain in our lifetimes. So much so, sometimes you have to wonder if Earth itself is Hell.

Perhaps it is, but even in these burning flames, we have saints and angels. I looked down at mine. Ricky's sweet face was covered with tears and smudged with dirt. He still was so fucking gorgeous. I love him more than he will ever know, and I will make sure he is always protected.

Ricky stood on his tipy-toes, reaching to kiss me. I felt accomplishment and joy rush through me as our lips connected. We may have lost some good creatures today, but we overcame the odds and saved the world. Ricky rested his head against my neck.

"Chris?" He softly murmured.

"Yeah, Baby?" I tiredly responded.

He replied in a soft whisper, "Let's go home."
