Chapter 35: What's Left

X • Ricky's POV • X

I found myself under the weight of my lover once again. Chris hovered over me, with one hand under my hip, and the other holding my neck. His lips were graceful along mine. Together, we were like two puzzle pieces that fit perfectly. Every time we collided, it was terribly beautiful. A symphony of tragedy. I'm starting to believe, that's the definition of love.

Under the night, we could make Hell envy our passion. In the morning, our compassion could make the angels cry. We were the perfect yin and yang, but it was so hard to believe perfection could burn so much. All the pain he has caused me, somehow makes me love him even more. In some sick way, when he makes me cry, he's the one whom I want to comfort me.

I love Chris. It's as simple as that. I'd like to think, he means it when he tells me those three powerful words. Would he though, if he knew Angelo was alive? I've heard the way he speaks of Angelo, the way the others do about their relationship. They were madly in love for centuries. If I were Chris, I wouldn't just throw away hundreds of years, just for someone I've known four or five. Though I never want to lose him, I would understand.

Would I be able to live without him? Without, this? Chris softly trailed his kissed down my neck. He took his hand lower on my body, and moved it upwards, touching the spot where my wings met on my back. I moaned lowly, causing him to dig his nails into me. Damn, he was a Hell of a man. So strong, so fucking sexy.

A knock at the door broke our lustful silence. Chris groaned and gently lowered me on the bed. He fixed his messy hair and went to address whomever it was. From here, I could see Balz on the other side of the door. I could hear them too.

"Devin's back." Balz told him.

"Great, I'll see him in the morning." Chris replied impatiently.

"He's not alone." He said. "Chris, you should really come see."

Chris glanced back at me. I sat up as I heard him sigh, "Fine. Ricky, come on."

I wasted no time in following him. I grabbed his dress shirt from the floor and handed it to him. Chris pulled it over his arms, but didn't bother buttoning it. He and I walked back out to the main room. Out here, we saw an assortment of faces, all covered in sorrow.

Nikki held Ashley in his arms, as Tyler carried Nick. Ashley's skin was almost grey, and Nick's was covered in blood. They also had the werewolves with them. I swear, nothing can kill a wolf. Jacky, of course having the largest heart, carried Mikey in. He obviously wasn't doing well either.

"What is all this?" Chris asked as his eyes shot towards Devin's.

"What's left." Devin put simply. "There's nothing we can do for Mikey right now. His back is broken."

"Can't you heal it?" I interrupted.

Chris gave me a dirty look for speaking out of turn. I lowered my wings much in the way a dog sticks it's tail between it's legs.

"Yes," Devin responded. He ran his hand over Ashley's forehead, from where she rested in Nikki's arms. "But, Ashley is more important. I have to revive her."

Chris took in a sharp breath. "Yes, yes. That is more important. I trust you and Ryan will attend to it at once."

He nodded. "We won't delay. Bring Mikey to Max for care. Ricky, can you please help Tyler and Jeremy treat Nick? Nikki's staying with me."

"Of course." I responded. "As... Long as that is okay with you, Sir?"

"It's fine. I'm taking Devin off of probation finally. You can take orders from him again." Chris responded. "I trust you will come to bed immediately after you are done?"

"Of course, Sir." I smiled softly. "Sleep well."

"You assume I'll be sleeping." He snit, turning to leave the room.

I watched Chris as he went to his bedroom. He was so fucking sexy. I wish we could have finished our moment earlier, but it'll have to wait. This is by far more important. I told the wolves where to find Max, and where they could rest for the night. They left us, as did Nikki and Devin. There really was only one room left for us to treat Nick, which was the girls' quarters. I'm sure they won't mind, as they are all asleep in the bedrooms.

We took Nick in there, laying him down on the couch. There was glass embedded in his skin, and parts of him were burned. I hated the smell of burned flesh. It made my want to vomit, but I had nothing in my stomach to come up. I still hadn't eaten in a while. Chris doesn't know, no one does, and I intend to keep it that way.

As a servant, my issues do not concern the coven. At some point, they may have, when my servant role was not being filled. Now, Chris is enforcing it heavily, and I am looked at as nothing more than a maid, errand boy, and as far as Chris is concerned, sex toy. When I'm good, he still makes me feel like his boyfriend, but his temper gets in the way of our relationship.

I'd like to hope someday, Chris and I will be more than the roles we currently fill. I want to see him as a partner, not a boss. I don't know how things will change when it comes out that Angelo is alive. What am I saying? I know damn well that Chris will dump me in two seconds. Maybe he does love me enough to stay. I doubt it.

I know my talents are heavily needed here. However, I owed to it Angelo to return and explain my absences, along with my abrupt exit. The serum he gave me that enhanced my powers was still in effect when I had to revive Ashley, which made it easier. She did come back, but I still will never forget what it was like to see her body cold. She was a dear friend, and I couldn't imagine what it'd be like without her around.

Ashley was amazing in medicine, along with the rest of her crew. I'm sure they'd manage to get Mikey and Nick well without my help. For now, I must return to the caves. I told Chris I was running out for some errands. He wasn't happy with me leaving, considering our situation. There was a lot preoccupying his mind though, which made it easier for me to leave.

I stopped by Balz's room. The door was open, and he sat with his girl and the dogs on the bed. They were having a conversation, but I didn't listen too much. I leaned on the door frame of the entrance as he looked up at me.

"Hey Dev." He said. "What're you all dressed up for?"

"I have to go someone... special." I smirked. "To see some friends. These friends, they would like me to bring you with me."

"I'm not going to get raped and murdered, am I?"

I shrugged. "I mean, you could get raped and murdered if you stayed here anyways. Especially with the way Chris' temper has been lately."

Balz chuckled and got up from his bed. "Good point. Let me grab my jacket."

"How long will you be gone?" Ryan-Ashley asked, petting Caspar as he made that weird heavy breathing noise.

"Few hours. I don't know exactly." I told her. "Depends how much I freak Josh out."

"Where exactly are you bringing him?"

"I can't say, but it will freak his ass out." I chuckled.

Balz sighed, rolling his eyes playfully. "You love to give me heart attacks, don't you?"

"This is worth it. I promise." I responded.

I smiled brightly. He had no idea what was about to happy. I was anxious to see his reaction, and reunite him with one of his oldest friends. Balz kissed Ryan-Ashley goodbye, ruffling the dog's fur as he did so. He pulled up his hood as he began to walk with me. We closed the door to his room, and I offered him my hand.

"Oh no." He stated scarcely.

"It's a five hour walk from here." I responded.

He sighed and took my hand, muttering, "I hate teleporting."

I snickered as I took one last look around us. No one in sight. He wasn't very fond of teleporting, so he closed his eyes as we waited on me. I teleported back to the cave entrance. It was literally five seconds, but that five seconds still left him unsteady. Him and Ryan are such big babies about teleporting!

"We're here." I informed him.

Balz opened one eye cautiously. Then he opened the other and relaxed his shoulders. "Where are we?"

"This is the beach Ricky was running away to." I replied.

He raised an eyebrow. "You're going to show me what's here? I thought it was a big scary secrete?"

"It is, that's why you can't say a damn thing about what you're about to see. When we enter this cave, you won't be able to use your powers because the mind field around this place isn't familiar with you yet."

He was still rather suspicious of it. "Okay. You better not get me killed."

I shook my head with a laugh. Balz followed me through the cave, but I stopped him a few feet before the staircase. I stepped forward, seeing Angelo and TJ sitting together eating lunch. Lydia sat on the table with her legs crossed, and she was the first one to notice me standing at the top of the stairs. She pointed towards me, and Angelo and TJ's eyes found mine.

"Come join us!" TJ said.

"I hope you have enough food." I responded. "I brought Josh."

They exchanged looks. At first I was worried they had changed their minds about this, but Angelo returned with a smile. "Finally. Bring him down."

I turned around and saw Balz waiting on me. I nodded my head towards the stairs, signaling for him to follow me. He did, walking out towards the top of the stairs and froze, looking down at the cavern below. Balz looked at me again and I just plainly smiled. I stepped out of the way and he broke from his initial shock to run down the stairs.

Angelo stood up from the table. Without a single word, Balz practically jumped on him with a hug. I smirked to myself and shared a look with TJ. It was so sweet to watch. I walked down to them as Balz was still coming to terms with this.

"You're alive. Oh my God, you're alive and breathing and why the Hell did you not come to us when you were.. Well not dead?!"

"We have a lot to discuss, old friend." Angelo responded. He glanced over at his little girl, then back at Balz. "A lot."
