"Where's Angelo?" Balz asked me as I walked in the kitchen.

Once I had that creature situated in the medical chambers, I left him to be treated by my husband. I didn't realize, Angelo was going to become so dedicated to saving this angel. He was almost obsessed. If he found it healing towards his broken heart, than let it be that he stays locked up in that lab for a while. I still don't like having him gone for so long.

"He's still with the angel." TJ spoke with disgust. I shot him a dirty look, causing him to mutter, "S-sorry, Chris."

"It's fine, there is room for concern. It'll be a disaster if it gets out that we have an angel." I replied.

"Yeah, because we tried to save it's life." TJ mumbled.

"TJ!" Balz scoffed.

"What? We're supposed to be stone cold killers and we're suddenly compassionate live savers?"

I sighed. "I hate to admit, he's right. Compassion is a vulnerability for us."

"However," Balz injected. "Angelo should do this, because we should practice compassion just once and a while. Just not to forget how."

"Maybe he's right." Ryan said as he stirred his coffee.

"I don't know." I admitted. "I'm going to go check on Ang."

Angelo wasn't in the medical chambers anymore. I was worried he had taken off again, like he did last time, but it was the complete opposite. I found him in one of the guest bedrooms, in a chair pulled up next to the bed. The angel rested in the sheets, fast asleep, or in a coma. One of the two.

"Ang." I spoke to get his attention as I walked into the room.

He looked over his shoulder for a moment at me, then turned back forward. "Hey."

My mind was telling me to infuse him with negative thoughts, that the creature wouldn't wake, or he wasn't worth it. However, my heart knew I couldn't do that to Angelo, so I bit my tongue.

"How is he?" I asked as I placed my hand on the back of Angelo's chair.

"Recovering. I'm waiting for him to wake up." He replied, then whispered, "I can't believe they did this to him. I hate them."

I looked at Ang curiously. "Who?" He didn't answer. He does that; just shuts down when he doesn't want to answer a question. I sighed, studying the angel. However, I quickly realized, something very important was missing. "Where's his wings?"

Angelo shuttered a long breath. "I didn't want to remove them, but the infection that was killing him, was rooted in his wings. I had to cut them off to keep his life."

"I've never met an angel that wants to live without his wings."

"I know," He leaned forward, running his hand over the angel's arms. "But this one is different. I can tell, he was emotionally done with his life. Maybe, this will give him a new start."

"Different." I scoffed, snickering. "You're different, you know that?" I grinned.

Angelo glanced up at me and laughed. I leaned down, meeting my lips to his perfect ones. He even placed his hands on the side of my face, which he hasn't in a while. Our love was fading, but in this moment, I had faith it was slowly rising again. He delicately pulled away, with a smile on his face. I knew I could make him smile again.

"You have the most beautiful eyes, Chris." He softly said.

I took his hand in mine, kneeling down. "Not as beautiful as yours. You're the true angel here. I know you're dedicated to seeing this through, but when you can, may I take you out on the town? On a date? It's been so long."

"I'd love that." Ang replied, stealing another kiss from me. It was short though, as something else caused him to pull away. "He's waking up." He said.

I turned my attention to the wingless angel, studying his pale face intently. Angelo's sixth sense never fails him. The creature started to twitch and stir. He pressed his hand on his head, groaning as he opened his eyes. Then he froze.

Angelo's hands left mine, so he could comfort the creature. He leaned forward towards the angel, but the angel shot up and quickly flinched away. He looked around frantically, bordering on hysterics. His state of panic caused him to fall off the side of the bed, but he didn't miss a beat when it came to cowering in fear.

Angelo stood up, motioning for me to stay where I was. He slowly walked around the bed, raising his hands in surrender as he approached the terrified angel. "It's okay, we're here to help you. Shh, it's okay."

The angel's breaths were hitched. I think he was having a panic attack! His eyes became glossy as he frantically spoke. "Wh-where am I? Who-who are y-you? Wh-where are m-my-my wings?"

Angelo kneeled down a few feet away from the angel, whom was backing himself into a corner out of fear. "You're in a very safe place. This is the home of the head coven of vampires. I'm one of the coven. My name is Angelo, I found you in the forest not too far from here. You were dying of a terrible infection in your wings. I had to remove them to save your life."

He stared at Angelo, then darted his eyes over at me, then back to Angelo. His shoulders loosen a bit as he sat up, but still stayed in his corner. "V-vampires? You saved my life?"

"Yes, he did." I interrupted. "But he's too humble to admit it."

Angelo glanced up at me and smiled. Then he turned and offered a hand to the angel. "Come here." But he didn't. He still cowered in the corner, causing Ang to sigh. "What's your name?"

The angel shook in his skin. Some of his hair fell in his face as he stared another moment, mumbling, "Ricky."

"Ricky." He smiled. "I like it. I promise, I won't hurt you, Ricky. We aren't anything like the bad people that did hurt you."

Ricky kept his eye trained on Angelo's offered hand. He glanced down at his hands, fiddling with them. "I-I was taught that vampires are evil, that I-I'm supposed to stay away."

"You were taught by angels. The very angels that left you to die." I said. "I wouldn't call their word trustworthy."

He looked up at me, still scared out of his mind. Then he glanced back at Angelo, and he slowly moved away from the corner. Angelo stood up, helping Ricky off the ground.

"There, not so bad." Ang smiled.

He tried to force a smile. It was obvious he was still a nervous wreck. "Thank you, for saving my life. I, um, I don't know if you know, by angel law, I'm in your debt for a lifetime."

"I know, an angel becomes servant to his savior. I won't treat you that way though. The only thing I want you to promise me is, you stay in the mansion, and stay with someone I trust you with." Angelo responded. "This is Chris," He gestured towards me. "He's the head of the household. I'm second in command. Are you hungry?"

"...Now that you mention it." He slightly laughed.

I smiled, because he was warming up a little. It'll take a while. I don't know what Angelo plans to do with him though. Is he just going to keep Ricky here? I mean, we have plenty of room in the mansion, but the leaders of the vampire world harboring an angel? Even a fallen one? I'm not sure about this.

"C'mon, you can come meet the others." Angelo said. "We'll get you some food, then some much needed rest."

I went ahead of Angelo to let the others have a fair warning about the angel. They all were just finishing up breakfast at this point. TJ, Brent, and Balz were at the kitchen table, and Ryan stood at the counter with me. Angelo walked in, holding the door for Ricky.

"C'mon, we won't bite. Or, erm, we won't bite you." He laughed.

Ricky forced a smile as he stepped in the kitchen. He was obviously uncomfortable with this many people. TJ was making it worse, by staring at him like it was his next meal!

"Josh." I muttered, looking over at TJ.

He sighed, rolling his eyes. Balz hit TJ on the back of the head, mumbling, "Knock it off." He did it once Angelo had already started talking, so Ricky didn't hear.

"This is the angel you all have been so curious about. He's going to be staying here from now on, under my watch and protection." Angelo spoke, eying TJ. I didn't say anything but I was thinking a lot! Shouldn't we have talked about this? "His name is Ricky." Angelo continued. "Treat him well or you answer to me."

"Yes, Sir." TJ scoffed.

Balz grit his teeth. "Don't make me do it again."

Angelo sighed. "Ignore him. That's TJ, but when he isn't being an asshole, he's cleaning our floors to make up for being an asshole. He's fourth in rank in the house, and the one next to him is Balz, fifth in rank. The one next to Chris, is Ryan, he's third in rank in the house. The five of us make up the coven that leads the entire vampire world."

Ricky got a small grin. "That's... Kind of amazing."

"Us? We suck." Ryan joked.

"N-no, I mean, it's amazing that, of all the people who could save my life, it was the leaders of the entire vampire kingdom. Who gets to say that?"

"Not many people." A familiar voice spoke as we saw the kitchen door swing open. Ghost walked in. His jacket and gloves were still on, and he was drinking to-go coffee. He must've just gotten here. "But, you and I are apart of an exclusive little group." Ghost smiled.

"Oh yeah. Sometimes I forget we saved your ass from biting the dust." TJ laughed.

Angelo rolled his eyes and snickered. "This is Ghost, he's being considered as the newest member of the coven. And, last but not least, the one with the wings at the kitchen table, is our head of security, Brent. All our security guards are demons."

"Which reminds me, there are going to be a few creatures in the mansion that won't be very respectful towards an angel." I told Brent. "Make sure everyone is well informed he is not to he touched."

"Yes, Sir. I should get going, we have a lot to prepare for, with Ghost's coronation coming up." Brent said as he stood up from the table.

"Ew. Can we not use that word? It sounds so froo-froo." Ghost scoffed.

"Ceremony, is that better?" I laughed, moving my attention to Ryan. "You and I have some planning to get done for it as well."

"Lots, I know. Let's get to it." He sighed.

"Alright. Ang, I'll take you out for dinner later tonight, okay?" I asked him.

"Okay." He smiled.

Only the guys know about our relationship. With Brent and Ricky in the room, I couldn't kiss him goodbye and pinch his ass like I wanted to, but I still gave him a little hug. I know I'll make up for it all later tonight anyways. I'm really going to make up for it... Hehe...
