Naoko opened her eyes slowly, it felt as though they had been glued shut; which was never a good sign; she must have overused her quirk. The bright light of a hospital greeted her, and a curse rose to her lips as she struggled to move but was forced back int the bed by how incredibly sore she was; whenever she overused her quirk, she ended up not being able to move and scar tissue from three years ago would burst open, causing her to bleed internally. Sure, it took a lot for her to get to that point, but when she did, it sucked.

A hand was placed on her forehead carefully, and Naoko forced her eyes to focus on the two blobs standing by her, "Aunt Hasame, Rei-sama," She could feel the raspiness of her voice, so she coughed lightly, "What are you guys doing here?"

Hasame tapped her sharply on the forehead, causing Naoko to cringe away from her irate aunt, "You idiot, you haven't even been accepted to that school, and you're already getting hurt! How could you be so reckless?" Hasame's words were hard to read, but Naoko could still see the desperation hidden in her aunt's eyes; she grabbed Hasame's hand and turned her head to Rei Todoroki.

"Do you know what happened?" She asked cautiously, not wanting the situation to become even tenser than it already was, "The last thing I remember, I was in the testing center... What stupid thing did I do?" Naoko didn't even have to be told that she did something stupid, even if she didn't have all the memories from that moment, she knew herself.

Rei-sama seemed to be thinking over her words carefully, "I don't know all the details, I honestly just got permission to come to your floor and see you a little while ago; but apparently you saved a classmate with your quirk, which put your life in danger." She sat delicately on the edge of Naoko's bed, "The nurses all sounded very impressed with your heroism."

Another sharp tap on her forehead (was her aunt trying to drill in her forehead?) brought Naoko's attention back to her aunt, "Don't encourage her, Rei. The idiot nearly got herself killed! I don't know what kind of school has ginormous robots that are perfectly capable of killing someone as an entrance exam, but I like this school less the more I hear about it."

Naoko could feel another sharp tap coming, so she reached up weakly and intercepted the finger, "What else would they use, Aunt?" She asked trying to make her voice quieter, "Hasame, you have to realize that these huge robots are nothing compared to the villains that any hero would one day have to face; if they don't give us a taste of what could be coming, then they would be failing at their job."

She tried to sit up again, and this time Rei guided her and piled pillows behind her back, making it easier for her to stay up, "How long was I out?" Both women looked away from Naoko at that point, that couldn't be a good sign.

It was Rei who finally broke, she tapped Naoko's shoulder, "You've been out for three days, Naoko; the doctor was starting to think that there was permanent brain damage." Naoko's eyes widened, that was the longest amount of time she had been knocked out by her quirk, just what did she do to cause such a huge effect?

Her aunt tapped her on the shoulder, "Naoko, I'm sorry, but we have to go; visiting time is almost over. Apparently, your letter from UA was either supposed to come today or tomorrow, how about I bring it with me when I come, and we can look at it together?" Naoko nodded weakly, too much had happened, her head was starting to throb, and she just wanted to go back to sleep. "Rei, can you get permission to come again tomorrow?"

Naoko's eyes shot to her friend, if there was anyone she wanted to be there when she was opening the most important letter of her life, it was Todoroki Rei. "I'll do my best to be here, my nurse is usually pretty lenient with me visiting people here for an hour or two." That soft smile was exactly what Naoko wanted to see, she leaned forward as best she could despite the pain and held her arms out to the two most important people in her life, both of whom gladly gave her the hug she was looking for.

"Are you ready, Naoko?" It was the next day, and all three of them were perched upon Naoko's bed. The envelope sat on the covers in front of them like it was a bomb waiting to go off, at least, that's what you'd think if you looked at Naoko's face. Both Rei and Hasame were smiling excitedly, but Naoko has lost about three shades of color that she couldn't afford to lose, and her knuckles were turning white as they gripped the bedspread.

"No," Unbeknownst to her, Naoko's voice was small, and the anxiety she was feeling showed in her voice without her realizing it, "How about we just forget about this stupid thing and continue like it never happened."

With a sigh, Hasame reached forward and grabbed the envelope, opening it and setting the small device in front of Naoko, "Just get it over with; you're such a drama queen." Of course, all of this was said out of Naoko's sight, so she couldn't exactly defend herself.

Rei and Hasame each took one of Naoko's hands as the device activated, showing a huge holographic image of All Might.

"Hello, young Fujimura, it is I; All Might!"

Naoko kept her eyes on All Might, but couldn't resist muttering, "Does that man do anything calmly?" causing the two others to chuckle along with her.

"As one of the newest teachers this year at UA High School, it is my honor to inform you of your acceptance into the hero's course due to your exemplary show of intelligence and skill during the entrance exams!" A grin burst into life across Naoko's face and she couldn't help but look at the women besides her in excitement, this was certainly not a side of Naoko that many people got to see.

"Am I reading that right, Aunt Hasame? Did I really get in?"

Hasame smiled gently at her niece, nodding, "Pay attention Naoko, he's still talking." As Naoko turned back to pay attention to All Might explaining the importance of her acceptance, Rei and Hasame shared a look over Naoko's head; it had been a long time since either of them had seen her this happy, and it warmed both of their hearts.

"Not only did you get a near perfect score on the written exam- one of the best of all the applicants, might I add- you also received a total of 38 villain points during the practical exam! But wait! That's not all!"

"What is this guy, an infomercial?" Naoko grumbled, but there was no hiding the beam of excitement in her eyes.

All Might swept an arm towards a board of scores that appeared behind him, "You see, there was another method of scoring during the practical exam! Along with scoring how many villains you took down, we also took notice of the many heroic deeds that were accomplished during this time! The actions you took to save this young man, gained you 40 hero points!" He gestured once again to the screen behind him, where next to the score chart, a video feed appeared.

In it, a young woman with blue-grey hair rushed towards a teenager before both disappeared under a falling robot. The feed sped up to the time when the camera cleared, and both teens could be seen lying in the bottom of a large crater, with the girl wrapped around the boy in a protective manner.

The room was silent as all three of the people here took in the image; Hasame and Rei looked at each other in shock, as neither of them knew the scale of what had happened. As for Naoko, her eyes grew to about the size of dinner plates and all happiness drained from them; she still couldn't remember the events she just saw, but the sensation of being trapped filled her and she shrunk down in the bed.

Her breathing quickened, and she covered her head with her hands before beginning to rock slowly; her eyes were still huge, but all she could see was darkness.

Rei stood up quietly and grabbed the small device, pausing it, and stepping back as Hasame took over trying to calm the teenager down. They both knew what Naoko had been through in the past and they were aware of just how much this was affecting her.

As Hasame pulled Naoko into her arms, the girl immediately turned towards the source of warmth and she began muttering under her breath. Hasame turned to Rei, "Rei, could you please help me? She always calms down when you sing!" Desperation filled Hasame's eyes and it broke Rei's heart; here was this young woman, not even out of her twenties. Yet she was placed in a position to have to mend not only her heart after her brother and his wife died, she was also given the care of this fragile young girl, who seemed impossibly broken.

Rei nodded and returned to the bed, getting close to Naoko and beginning to hum the song she always did to calm the girl down; it was the same one that she had sung to her children to help them sleep so many years ago.

Naoko's heart monitors were, understandably, going crazy because of the panic attack; yet, the nurses were ushered out of the room as quickly as they came because of a senior nurse who had been there long enough to know Naoko and her relationship with the two women. He watched sadly as the two women held the girl between them lovingly as she slowly stopped shaking, moving on instead to heartbreaking sobs. At that moment, he was their sentry, ensuring that even after visiting hours finished, the three remained undisturbed and could lie there together throughout the night.

Naoko woke long before her aunt and Rei the next morning; at first, she was confused about why she was between the two in the first place, but eventually, it came back to her... She had a panic attack after watching the footage last night... Right.

At the moment, she was unable to move, so she simply laid there, thinking about what All Might had said in his recording; though she was careful to avoid the last bit. He said that she had 38 Villain points and 40 Hero points, which put her at 78 points total, which she assumed was a good score... She didn't get a very good look at the scoreboard when it appeared in the video, but she was about 72 percent sure that her score put her in first place.

Hasame and Rei were pulled from their sleep by a knock on the door before a male nurse came into the room, "I'm incredibly sorry for waking you three, but it's time for Miss Fujimura's last rounds of tests; if everything looks okay after this, you are free to go home!" Hasame grumbled irritatedly and walked into the hall, muttering something that Naoko couldn't see; though, knowing her aunt, it was probably about it being 'too early to be alive without coffee.'

Rei smiled as Hasame left then turned back to Naoko, "I'm afraid I have to go as well, my nurse is probably wondering where I am." She leaned in to kiss Naoko on the forehead then smiled at her one more time, "Make sure to tell me all about your first day, okay Naoko?"

Naoko nodded with a small smile before remembering something, "Rei-sama, won't I be in the same class as your son? Todoroki Shoto?"

This stopped Rei in her tracks, and she turned back to look at the girl with shock in her eyes, "I... I suppose you will be; I imagine his father got him in on a recommendation."

Naoko hated the mix of sadness and fear that was in her eyes at the mention of her family; Naoko was not a violent person, but she knew the basics of what Todoroki Enji had put Rei through and he was one of the few humans that she wouldn't mind using her quirk on.

"Do you want me to tell him anything from you?" Naoko's was hesitant to even ask this, but she would never want to be separated from her parents for as long as Shoto and Rei have been estranged; she just wanted to see her second mother happy.

"..." Rei tried to speak, but it wasn't something that Naoko could read, it took a moment for Rei to compose herself, but finally, she looked at Naoko with all the sadness in the world, "No... After what I did to him, I can't... I won't force myself into his life... I scarred him... He'd... He'd be better off without me." With that, Rei turned and left the room without giving Naoko a chance to respond.

The poor nurse, who was standing in the back of the room awkwardly during that whole interaction, came forward with a rather forced smile on his face, "So Miss, are you ready to go home?
