[ 006 ] amara and pike.

— CHAPTER SIX,
amara and pike.

WHEN OCTAVIA CAME TO FIND RUBY, SHE TOLD HER THAT THERE WAS SOMETHING SHE NEEDED TO SEE.

So now, Ruby watched as Octavia pushes a door open. Ruby stops in her tracks when she sees the woman sitting in front of her.

"Clarke," Ruby says in shock. Clarke stands, smiling at her friend. "What're you doing here?"

"I'll explain in a minute." Clarke replies as Octavia leaves the room. Clarke's blue eyes met Ruby's brown eyes. Her brows furrowed as she steps up to Ruby, she gently grabs her face, examining her eyes. Ruby's heart starts to beat faster. "What happened to you?"

"You haven't been informed?" Ruby asks. Clarke shakes head head. "I was a Reaper. When I gave myself over to Cage, he took me and drugged me with a super Reaper drug. Abby saved my life. I've only been back for a couple days. Not even a whole week yet." Ruby smacks her teeth. "I heard you've been in Polis. . . with—"

"Lexa, yes." Clarke nods, preparing for whatever Ruby is going to say to her.

"The very person who betrayed us at Mount Weather. You remember that, don't you, Clarke?" Ruby questions her friend.

Clarke nods, "I do. Lexa's changed."

"Everyone has, Wanheda." Ruby shakes her head. "We've all changed." Commander of Death.

Before they can continue their conversation, the door opens again. Ruby turns her eyes from Clarke to see Bellamy standing in the door and Octavia standing beside him.

"Now, I'm done." The youngest Blake says to her brother before she turns and leaves.

"Go easy on Octavia. I had to beg her to get me into camp." Clarke looks to Bellamy.

"What're you doing here, Clarke? Why is Ruby here?" Bellamy interrogates. Ruby scoffs at his questioning.

"We need to talk." Clarke informs them.

"Oh, you've decided that. The mighty Wanheda, who chose the Grounders over her own people? Who turned her back on us when we came to rescue you? Now, you want to talk?" Bellamy snarls. Commander of Death.

"I came here to tell you the Ice Nation has paid a price. Justice has been served for the attack on Mount Weather. I can to tell you it's over." Clarke says, glancing between Ruby and Bellamy.

"There it is again. Why do you get to decide it's over?" Bellamy asks.

"We did our part." Clarke breathes out.

"We?" Bellamy narrows his eyes.

"Lexa and I. . . the Ice Queen is dead. The problem was solved and then you let Pike ruin everything." Clarke states.

"Bellamy didn't even try to stop him." Ruby hisses. Bellamy's eyes turn to glare at her. He then steps closer to the two.

On instinct, both girls go to push the other behind herself protectively. Bellamy looks between them both.

"Why are you here, Clarke?" He then asks.

"Arkadia needs to make things right. Or Lexa and the Twelve Clans will wipe us out." Clarke says to him.

"Let her try," Bellamy raises his eyebrows.

"You won't survive." Ruby rolls her eyes. "All Twelve Clans against people who use their weapons as their only power? Skaikru is nothing but a bunch of pussies." Sky People.

Bellamy's hand curl into fists.

"Please tell me that going to war is not what you want." Clarke whispers.

"We've been at war since we landed. At least Pike understands that." Bellamy defends the man. He then looks to Ruby again, "you of all people should know what it's like to lose your friend to the Grounders."

Red.

All she sees is red.

Before Clarke or Bellamy can react, Ruby is grabbing his shirt in her fists and slamming his back against the wall. His eyes widen as a blade presses against his neck.

"You don't get to talk about her," she snarls. "River would so disappointed in you for what you've done! She would hate you for it!" She presses the blade harder into his neck. "If I ever hear you use her name or talk about her to defend Pike, I'll kill you, Bellamy. I don't care what we used to be or what we had. River was my sister. I knew her better than you ever did. Use her memory to defend him again, I dare you."

She backs away from Bellamy. He lifts his hand to his neck where a small trickle of blood drips down his neck.

Clarke tries to hide her shock as she speaks up, "Pike is the problem. This isn't who you are."

"You're wrong." Bellamy shakes his head. "This is who I've always been. And I let both of you," his eyes then meet Ruby's, "especially you and Octavia and Kane convince me that we could trust these people when they've shown over and over who they are. And I won't let anyone else die for that mistake."

"Bellamy. I need you. Both of you. And we don't have much time." Clarke exclaims. Ruby knows she won't hesitate to help Clarke. Clarke is her friend, her people. If she needs her, she'll be there. Always.

"You need me? You need her? Haven't you heard what she is, a monster?" Bellamy taunts.

At his words, Ruby's heart falls to her stomach. She hates him. She hates Bellamy with all of her heart but hearing those venomous words fall from his lips. . .

"Yes, I do. I need the guy who wouldn't let me pull that lever in Mount Weather by myself." Clarke's tearful blue eyes turn to Ruby, "and I need the girl who's defended our people since day one, no matter who it was. I need the Ruby that stood by my side through it all."

"You left me. You left everyone. Both of you did." Bellamy grows anger.

"Bellamy—" He cuts Clarke off.

"Enough, Clarke!" His raises his voice, "you're not in charge here. And that's a good thing. Because people die when you're in charge. You were willing to let a bomb drop on my sister. So did you!" Bellamy points harshly at Ruby. "Then you made a deal with Lexa who left us in Mount Weather to die and forced us to kill everyone who helped us! People who trusted me!"

"I just—"

"You don't know shit about the bomb," Ruby says. When Bellamy and Clarke look to her, a numb expression lays on her face. "You weren't there. You don't know what we had to do."

Bellamy and Clarke both have tears in their eyes but Ruby forces her down.

Emotions distract you.

Distraction gets you killed.

Bellamy turns away, walking to the door. He doesn't leave. Clarke sits down in the chair she sat in before. Ruby stays in place, staring at her boots.

"I'm sorry." Clarke whispers. Bellamy turns to look at her. "I'm sorry for leaving. But I knew I could because they had to."

Ruby watches as Bellamy turns around and kneels in front of Clarke, taking her hands in his own. Ruby shakes her head.

They both jump as the door slams shut. When the both look at the door, Ruby is already gone.

Amara kom Trikru has killed people. Tree Clan.

She's murdered, she's tortured. She's watched as men and woman bled to death. She's taken away people's mothers, fathers, and children. She knows if there is a place such as hell, her soul is damned to it.

So what's one more person?

Never in her life has she felt such a strong pull to kill someone. This man murdered three hundred people from her clan. People she knew, people she loved. They're gone now because of Charles Pike and his cruel mind.

When he enters his office, he stops. He stares the young woman thats sits behind his desk. Her legs are propped up on the metal desk, her sword rests across her legs. She runs her fingers down the blade that's take a many lives.

She doesn't look up at him as she speaks, "hello, Pike."

"Amara, right?" Pike asks. He eyeballs the young woman cautiously.

"Don't act like you don't know who I am." She rolls her eyes. She finally looks up at him. "You have eyes on me all day, everyday. The same with Luca, same with Lincoln."

"You're Grounders." Pike responds.

"And you are outsiders." Amara retorts with a snarl. She stands to her feet. Her hand grips the hilt of her sword so tightly that her knuckles turn white. "You came from space. You do nothing but destroy and murder. You go to war just for the fun of it."

Pike's hand slowly inches towards his gun. Amara notices. Her eyes dart from his face to his hand.

She jumps over the desk with battle cry. Her sword slices through Pike's arm. He shouts in pain as blood drips from his arm and onto the floor. Then a gunshot rings out.

Amara blinks, stunned for a moment. Her eyebrows furrow in confusion as she stares at the gun in Pike's hand. Then she looks down at her stomach. Blood pools in her shirt. Then the pain hits her.

Pike shouts for guards as Amara's legs give out on her. She falls to the ground.

She presses her hand to her stomach in a feeble attempt to keep herself from losing too much blood.

It doesn't work.

She knows it isn't working. She can feel the strength leaving her body.

Her vision begins to go blurry, her head starts to pound. She coughs harshly, blood lands on her cheeks.

Guards rush into Pike's office. They don't even bother looking at Amara. They go to Pike's aid without even casting her a look.

They shout for a medic. Only one. One medic for Pike, who isn't even terribly hurt. They don't care about Amara.

Abby rushes in seconds later with Jackson behind her. Neither of them look at Pike, both of their eyes fall onto their friend.

Abby then looks at Pike, "you'll live, Charles. Her wound is much more serious than yours. I need to attend to her. Jackson, get him."

Jackson nods and moves to Pike. Abby drops beside Amara and sets her back beside her.

"We need to arrest her," Pike grunts.

"She's dying!" Abby shouts, she looking over at him over her shoulder. "She's dying."

Abby quickly pulls bandages out of her bag, pressing them to Amara's stomach. "You'll be okay." She whispers to the young woman. "It's gonna be okay. You just have to hold on for a little while longer, Amara."

Amara can barley see Abby through her blurred vision but she can her voice. The comfort of Abby's voice seems to calm her down.

But then Amara's head rolls to the side.

for such a short rewritten chapter, some important shit happened. so let's talk about it!!

we'll start of with the huge event in this chapter, amara getting shot. my poor girl was so brave that she stood up to that asshole and it ended with her getting shot. but don't worry, guys. amara isn't going to die. i love her way too much to do that to myself and y'all. but pike is a motherfucker. i can't wait for him to get what he deserves.

abby didn't hesitate to rush to amara to help her. i love their mother-daughter relationship so much. she's the only mom amara's ever had and their so special to me.

and now for the first scene in the chapter. clarke and ruby are finally reunited and there was a slight bit of 😏tension😏 between the two of them. i so should've made clarke ruby's love interest but it's two years too late for that. anyway, them protecting each other when bellamy got too close 🫶🏻.

speaking of bellamy, he had a lot of fucking audacity to bring up river like he did. ruby doesn't play about river and ryland, especially since bellamy used her memory to defend pike. ruby wasn't about to take that.

so, she threatened him by pressing her knife against his neck. what a girlboss move. we love cutting our ex-boyfriends neck a little bit to show that we are not playing around.

and then he called her a monster?? what a fucking prick.
