Eaglestar sat on the highrock, glaring down at his Clanmates, especially Doveflight. The she-cat had just returned from hunting with a haul of three mice and a large rabbit. And it was coming leaf-fall.

Everyone was happy except Eaglestar, as usual. The two murderers smirked. Their targets wouldn't know what hit them.

Birchwhisker and Aspensnow were taking a walk through the ever-misty forest.

The murderers crouched on the branches of a tree, claws digging into the bark. They glanced at each other, then leaped onto the two other cats, aiming for their throats.

The last thing the two cats saw was the brown fur of one of their attackers before the murderers ripped out their throats.

Silverstreak was on a patrol with Doveflight and Darkfeather. The she-cat smelled blood in the air, and went into the bushes to investigate. Doveflight and Darkfeather waited patiently for her.

A horrified shriek sliced through the air. The two warriors exchanged shocked glances, then ran after Silverstreak.

The she-cat stared wide-eyed at the bodies of Aspensnow and Birchwhisker. Her fur was spiked, her claws digging into the ground. Terror was bright in her eyes.

Doveflight raced over and grasped Aspensnow's body gently in her jaws, while Darkfeather took Birchwhisker's limp form. The two headed back to camp, Silverstreak following numbly behind.

Eaglestar hissed in fury as he took in the sight of his sister's limp form. "Who did this?!" he snarled. He swung his head to Silverstreak. "Did you?!"

The she-cat backed away from the raging leader. "No! I would never!"

Hazeldapple rounded on Sparrowheart. "I think it was you!" she snarled. "You might be the oldest cat in the Clan, but that doesn't mean you're not able to kill a warrior!"
