Chapter 1: Silence Upon a Whisper
On that night we were both shown ‘The Game.’
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
Marik’s POV:
5 years later:
I leant against a clean wall. Everything else was covered in splats of blood. Blood on the ground, blood on the walls, blood ran through the fresh water of the river. The stone fountain that stood elegantly in the centre of the town now flowing with a crimson colour.
The corpses posed as corpses do. Some missing body parts, while others lay in tacked. Most lay silently, but some frozen, yelling and waling in pain of and fear of their soon coming death.
Fear. It gets you no where. No where but dead.
“We will search the houses for any survivors.” Bardon announced.
“Gray, do us a favour and sniff them out.” Alex said.
Gray sighed. “Why do I gotta do all da dirty work?”
“Because, the Lord blessed you with both an ugly face and a good nose.” Alex teased.
“What’d ya say?!” Gray snapped pulling Alex by his armoured shirt.
“Hush, for Elliot’s men will be among us soon. Stop your bickering and go.” At the sound of my voice they scattered.
“You there, boy.” A farmer spoke out. His voice all hollow and weak. My glared pierced him as I moved closer to his fragile body.
“Speak quickly.” I commanded.
“How old would you be, boy?” The word ‘boy’ ringing in my ears, sickening me to the core. “17? 18?” I did not answer, merely glared. “So what is a boy of your age doing with people like them? They sent a massacre upon this town.” I let out a chuckle.
“How wrong you are. I’m not ‘with’ them.” Confusion shot through his eyes. “No, not at all. I am their leader.” A twisted grin graced its self upon my lips.
“You will be cursed by hell! And-“ Before another word was spoken. Bardon, who now stood next to me, beheaded him leaving him as food for the ravens.
“We have finished.” He informed me. Gray walked out with a girl.
“Any what of this?”
“She’s an... interesting one.” Gray sniffed her scent.
“What? You can’t take care of one girl?” Alex teased.
“I’m serious! She smells of ‘Silence’.”
“Don’t trust *cough cough* her.” Some of the town’s people slurred in their weak, shallow breaths.
I eyed her carefully. She stood her ground perfectly. Her onyx eyes glared daggers. She wore a completely black dress that stretched down to just above her knees. A cloak hung off her body. Her long, brown hair whipped in the wind with out a care. She kept her face unemotional. She seemed so familiar.
“You, what is your name?” She did not answer, ignoring me. She looked at the ground as if it were more interesting. I cupped her chin forcing her to look me in the eye. “I asked you a question.” She raised her eye brows. I narrowed my eyes.
“Speak.” I yelled.
“And why should I?” Her calm voice asked. “You don’t know the names of every other farmer, wife and child you’ve murdered. So why is it you must know mine?”
“Do you have and idea who you’re talking to?” Gray yelled. I was interested to hear her answer to that.
“A fool.” She mumbled under her breath.
“You call me the fool when you are standing above your death bed.” I said calmly. She rolled eye eyes.
“I do not fear death.”
“Enlighten me.”
“Death follows all, fear only brings it closer.” Everything fell silent for a split second until I came to a decision.
“Burn it to hell.” I commanded walking away to the carriage and the rest of my men.
“And the girl?”
“Bring her.”
“Does that mean I get to keep her?” Alex asked. ‘Of course not, I hate women they only slow you down.’
“We’ll feed her to the Silence.” I smirked to myself. Maybe that will break her spirits.
Raven’s POV:
We rode along Demons road. I sat with my hands tied behind my back in the back of the carriage. When it began to get dark they sat me down, near, keeping a close eye on me.
“Hey cutie, the names Alex.” One of the men, obviously named Alex, sat by me. Like I care. “It’s a shame you have to die. You’re way too beautiful.”
“I can’t say the same for you.” I stated boredly.
“Why you little!”
“I think she struck a blow at ‘Prince Charming’ over there.” The larger man, Gray, laughed.
“I don’t think you should be talking.” Gray growled.
“I like this girl.” Alex laughed. I rolled my eyes. Out of boredom I looked over to the boy whose name I did not know. He wore a cloak that hung over his body from head to toe. He had deep onyx eyes and bits of his dark black hair showed. Under his cloak he wore black plated armour and carried a sword. He sat by the fire lazily reading his book. I must have been looking at him for far too long as he felt my gaze and he looked up only to lock eyes lock eyes with mine. He seemed some what familiar. What seemed like minutes we peered into each others eyes trying to figure each other out.
My eyes soon widened as a familiar presence drew near. My eyes wondered out into the nothingness. I narrowed my eyes at a small figure in the distance.
“Elliot.” I whispered. Most people looked at me like I was crazy.
“Impossible.” Alex explained.
“He’s the one that lit a huge fire saying ‘Hey I’m this way, come follow me because I have nothing better to do then kill and kidnap girls.” I nodded my head towards the boy.
“Oh no, quickly Alex, go put out that fire or wel’l all die.” The boy said all shocked like. I rolled my eyes at his childish acts. “Not scared are you?”
“What? Of Elliot? Not hardly. What are you?”
“Never.”
“Then why are you running’?” He was about to answer when a man on the look out yelled:
“King Elliot is among us.” Figures of the night rode towards us. No one seemed to care. They just sat there. It’s not like was scared but I thought it was odd for men that were running from them.
“Elliot isn’t among ‘em.” Gray sniffed.
They rode towards us, we all stayed seated around the fire. Night approached us, and soon enough the Silence would follow. A knight climbed off his horse and started with a boring introduction thing.
He wound up dead.
A tall, dark man, built in the arms and chest climbed off his horse. His boots ‘cluncked’ with every step. His presence was pure evil and twisted. Agravien, a man of torture in Elliot’s castle.
“Crime, punishable by death.” His firm tone rumoured to send shivers up your spine, but he didn’t scare anyone here. “And now, killing one of my men? We are trying to start a war, aren’t we?” The boy stared at him bored. I spat at the ground before him.
“Always a pleasure, Raven.” My glared never faltered. He smirked wickedly before continuing. “You here boy, you’ve made my job easier, she was my next target. Here’s say, I make you a deal?”
“Hmm?” He raised his head in interest.
“I’ll leave you be and allow you to continue one your way, if you give me this girl instead.” His men whispered among themselves, but soon shut their traps as Agravien raised his hand.
“Even if he says yes, what make you think I’m going to come quietly?”
“Because, their is one of you and 50 of us.”
“That’s never stopped me before.” He glared
“What do you say, boy?”
“That seems too easy.” Gray mumbled.
“Indeed. You shouldn’t-“ Alex agreed.
“She is my prize, I will do as I please with her.” he stood along with many others. “But, the girl is mine.”
“You’ve sealed your own fate. Men, attack.” Agravien ordered.

Marik’s POV:
Women, they’re so, troublesome. Starting a war at the dead, silence of night. The next thing we know, the Silence will be among us. This will turn into a mess. What a pain.
Raven’s POV:
One of the knights moved towards me, sword in hand, ready to strike a blow. Just as he got close, I swung my legs around and tripped him. The next came quickly and I kicked him up into the jaw. He staggered back and I used the time to cut the rope binding my hands.
I got to my feet and had a sword to sword combat with the knight. I stabbed him and left him to die. I had quickly looked around and found that ‘boy’ fighting with someone, while a knight went to attack him from behind. He had a twisted smirk upon his lips. With out reasoning with my head, my body moved and I shielded the boy’s blind side.
“Tch.” The knight’s sword pierced the skin of my left arm stabbing right through to the other side. The pain increased as the knight pulled it out from it’s embedment in my arm. His smirk widened into a grin.
“Why’d you do that?” The boy asked
“I don’t know.”
“You shouldn’t have saved him. How are you going to fight now?” I smirked and changed my sword to my right hand.
“I’m right handed.”
“Tsk.” This didn’t faze the knight. He found himself beheaded.
“Should have ran.” I said to his headless corpse.
I came face to face with Avgrivein. He had no sword, but a smirk, for he was the master of torture, a sorcerer. I raised my sword ready to fight.
“Bow.”
“Never.”
“Come now Raven, your father would be disappointed.” I clenched my fist clutching my sword. “I said Bow.” His eyes glowed a crimson red. A strong overpowering force pushed me down to bow, his power made it hard to resist.
“Ech.” I clenched my teeth.
“Much better.” He smirked wickedly.
There was a moment and everything went silent. Cold chills were sent up my spine and I felt as if death crept upon me. I was soon to stand and stare at the creeping flames of the Silence.
“I-I-It’s the Silence.” Men cowered. Pathetic really. I stood my ground watching their lifeless bodies sway and crawl towards us.
“As if we needed anything else to add to the mess.” I smirked “Can’t be helped.”
“I accept the ‘Game’!” I shouted, my voice echoed with two other men. Agravien and the ‘Boy’.
