Quiet Please
Imagine a world with no first words, no laughter, no hi's or goodbye's, nothing, but dead silence.
This is the world I live in.
Except for me it was different. I did have my first words. Words that made my parents leave me. Words that created rumors that I was strange. Words that created fear for I had done something they couldn't comprehend. My first innocent word ruined my life. All I had said was "mommy" and my own mother left me for that.
So, I quickly adjusted to being a parentless nobody. Not being able to make friends for I had ruined it by speaking.
I spent most of my afternoons walking the streets. If someone made the mistake of being outside while I came by they would run back inside. Although, every once and a while there would be a brave soul or two who would decided to "talk" to me. Let me tell you just because they couldn't talk didn't mean they couldn't make fun of you. Sign language was rapid and totally normal here. Many of us able to signal each other as fast as people today talk.
"Poor thing" they signaled to me "Not a single person loves him, not even his parents"
I realized I was tired of the teasing and the rumors. I was just like everyone else except for that one word. If they were gonna act like I am a monster, then I will be a monster.
"Rawr!" I yelled. as I threw a rock at them.
They screamed and ran away. Signaling frantically to each other.
"OMG! The rumors are true!, run!"
I started walking again until I was tapped on the shoulder. I stopped, shocked. Nobody got closer then ten feet to me and I almost forgot what it was liked to be touched by another human. I turned around.
"What do you want?" I asked.
"Follow me" she signaled back
She was about my age and was well built with black hair that looked the the night sky.
She then took off not looking back to see if I was following her.
What the heck, I got nothing better to do anyway.
I took off after her. She led me down a few streets I had been down before, but then she went down a alley way to a street I've never been on. She went right and headed towards a abandoned shop. She lifted up a loose piece of wood that baracaded the door, and went under. I followed her inside.
"Where are we?" I asked. "Why'd you bring me here?"
She looked at me and back out the shop's dirty window. She opened her mouth and spoke:
"You shouldn't waste your words on people who deserve your silence. Sometimes the most powerful thing you can say is nothing at all."

Hi guys,
I kinda came up with this randomly. I planned to make it just a short story, but if enough people ask me. I probably will make this a whole book.
I hope you enjoyed,
