Conclusion
I will not be returning.
Ever.
I'm sorry.
With that in mind, I'd like to tell you how I planned for this book to end.
The next chapter cut to the end of Thor. It briefly explains how she felt during the events of this film, and shows her running onto the Rainbow Bridge, just soon enough to see Loki fall into the Bifrost. As you can imagine, Sigyn is horrified that she allowed him to fall, why he didn't let her do so, and instantly goes on an insane grief thing. She tries to commit suicide again, and is saved by Queen Frigga.
The next two chapters show her trying to work out life on her own in Asgard, and beginning to fall in love with an Asgardian, who I never found a name for. He wasn't handsome, or clever, or really anything like Loki, but he cares about her in a way that Loki never did, and Sigyn mistakes her feelings for him for love.
Then, of course, the Avengers. Sigyn is obviously shocked and amazed that Loki is alive, and when Thor refuses to allow her to come with him, she uses her knowledge of Loki's secret passageways between worlds to go to Midgard anyway, despite the advice of her lover. She meets up with Tony and Steve in Germany, but her loyalties are torn when Loki suggests that she might join him in his quest for power. She doesn't have to answer when she and Loki are taken from the helicopter by Thor, where, well, you've seen the film. Sigyn's new lover is briefly mentioned, and Loki looks somewhat surprised and hurt.
They then return to the Helicarrier, by which time Sigyn is, as you can imagine, feeling pretty conflicted about Loki and this guy who I really need a name for. Her old feelings are returning. When they use Sigyn's own brand of magic to communicate telepathically, she agrees to join Loki.
We go through the plot of the film, yada yada yada, but when Tony, who Sigyn likes (as a friend, guys!), and Natasha, confront her at New York, she sees the line between good and bad and changes back. Loki obviously feels very betrayed about this, because you know how he is, with this whole speech beginning "And so even you betray me" which I wrote out once but now can't find. In an early chapter I didn't mention, the Other threatened him with torture of Sigyn in his "you will long for the sweetness of pain" thing, so you can sort of understand why he expects her loyalty. I guess?
Sigyn then can't decide between him and good, again. Make up your mind, woman.
She's torn. What should she do? She thinks of Asgard, of her friends in the Avengers, of the innocents... And then she thinks of her love for Loki, and her newfound longing for the power of evil.
She cannot decide. It's an impossible decision.
And that's how it ended. Because even in planning, I'm evil.
