Sigrid Vargr Synopsis
(For reference, I've written this as if she were once part of the village of Kattegat, but she existed AFTER the Ragnarssons. For those of you who haven't watch Vikings, Kattegat is the fictional village that major parts of the show is set in)
Sigrid lived deep in the woods along the borders of Kattegat, and was born within the walls of the hut she grew up in. Growing up she was relatively unknown to the residents inside Kattegat, and very few knew her, and her family existed. Her family was known as a bit queer, having sharply pointed ears and flawless, almost angelic skin which was one of the biggest reasons why they remained hidden from the outside world. Her bloodline was Elvish, and her mother was known as being one of the last Elves to ever walk the earth. Her mother was, besides being an Elf, a Sorceress who practiced in the darker side of magic. One of her many spells backfired however, and instead of bringing a small animal back to life, she herself died instead. Her father, driven by grief, hung himself on the tree in the forest which surrounded their home.
Sigrid mostly grew up alone save for a wolf which continuously visited her in the dead of night, sleeping at the end of her bed as if protecting her from harm. Later on in life, this wolf whom she would lovingly call Aasta would become her first companion since her parents death. In her teen years, a raven would hang around her window, and she would feed it every day. Eventually, this raven wouldn't leave her side, and so she named it Adalward.
Up until her mid 20s, she stayed away from practicing her mothers magic, until she met the love of her life Eyvindur; one of Kattegat's strongest warriors. She vowed to protect him at whatever cost, and that she did. However, she was young, and admittedly a little stupid, but she used one of her mother's protection spells not realising she needed a sacrifice until she was nearly too late. Almost killing her love drove her to run away from him, and using another one of her mothers spells, wiped his memory completely of her existence so none would find her.
Sigrid lived out most of her days miles away from the original hut she grew up in, however she occasionally left the forest to participate in battles protecting what was left of the dignity of Kattegat. On more than one occasion, she wen to war with the people of Kattegat, and on more than one occasion was lumped with her old lover Eyvindur in the woods along with many archers. Her skills with a bow were unmatched by any in Kattegat, therefore she often led the archers into battle. Alongside her archers, her wolf Aasta would always be by her side, and Adalward would bring messages to her from whatever he could hear from the opposing side.
It wasn't until she became more open about practicing magic that she began drawing the symbol of providing divine energy on her forehead before battle. Not long after, her biggest battle lay before her, and quite possibly the longest battle she ever had to endure. For two days, they fought to protect Kattegat against a force not seen since the Great Army days led by Ivar the Boneless. She lost a lot of good warriors, including Eyvindur. In her grief, on the night of the last day she unleashed power that lied dormant within her, successfully throwing the other side completely off guard, and caused them to lose a good majority of their warriors.
After this battle, she withdrew her contact with Kattegat, and cut off all ties to the village. She made her way into the mountains far off, and there she stayed for multiple years. She would occasionally come down from the mountains, watching the world she was born in change into the modern world. Some say she still lives up in the mountains with her wolf Aasta and her raven Adalward, but not much is known about her save for a few journals written in old Norse about her and her family...
