Chapter three

It was 1:30 when Minho and Thomas pulled into the driveway of the survivors' house.

Quickly, they ran up to the door, desperate to not only see their friends, more like family, but to also tell them what they had learned. The door opened 10 seconds after they did the special sequence.

Brenda stood in the doorway with a smile, but it faded as she looked at their determined expressions. She knew something serious had happened. She motioned them in, calling out to the other household members.

When they walked into the living room, Gally and Aris were already there with the TV on some random channel. Fry came out of a door that led to the kitchen, followed by Jorge who had probably been eating. Sonya and Harriet walked down the stairs together, and normally the Gladers and Scorchers would tease them, but there were more pressing matters on their hands.

Once they were all sat down (apart from the runners), Thomas looked to Minho, waiting for him to explain, since it would be faster than signing.

"Um, okay so," Minho started. "Do you shanks remember when Thomas was telling us about his old life?" Receiving nods, he continued. "Right, okay, so you also remember that all of his 'friends' were not human?" More nods. "Well, Scott, the...alpha, came up to him today and gave him this." He pointed at Thomas, who took that as a sign to put the paper down on the coffee table. Everyone leaned forward, and gasps were heard as well as some threats and promises of death. "Slim it. Thomas, if you will."

Thomas sighed. We asked Scott about where he got it from, and he told us he got it from Derek Hale, an old Alpha. So we ditched school and went to ask him. He told us that he heard rumors of a supernatural thing in New Mexico, He paused. By a desert.

This sure got a reaction. Gally and Jorge jumped to their feet, probably about to go murder someone, while Aris sat frozen and Sonya and Harriet huddle up to each other, seeking comfort. Fry and Brenda were trying to get answers.

"Hey!" Thomas shouted, gaining silence. He went back to signing. He went looking for answers and found some...from a boy. Now, I don't know who this is, but I have a suspicion. We also need to destroy WICKED again. And this time, make sure it stays gone. So, who wants to go on a road trip to kill this son of a bitch? he finished with a smirk and a dangerous glint in his eye.

The response was immediate. Everyone stood up and yelled something along the lines of 'Hell yeah', 'Obviously' or 'I'm in'.

What they didn't know, was that Peter Hale didn't agree to keep quiet. Instead, he called Scott, told him that 'Stiles' was planning something (he wasn't rude enough to tell the whole story) and warned him to stop the human.

So it was quite the surprise when Thomas opened the door to go home for the night, after long hours of planning, (they're leaving first thing tomorrow) to find the McCall pack. He stepped outside, and closed the door, not wanting the survivors to butt in. By that, he means to cause harm by the most likely intruding questions Scott was going to ask.

He walked over to his jeep, and got in, hearing but not understanding, Scott asking question after question.

It wasn't until he opened his jeep door only to have it slam shut and a hand rest on his shoulder, did he turn around. He grabbed the hand that was on his arm, twisting it as he turned around.

"What, Scott?" he asked, annoyed, still twisting the hand. It brought him great satisfaction when he saw the wince that flashed across the True Alpha's face. The fact that a mere human could harm the Great Alpha Scott McCall with a twist of his hand was amazing, especially to 'weak, defenseless Stiles'.

"Ah," Scott exclaimed in pain, before wrenching his arm back, getting out of the human's tight grip. "How-Why did you do that?" he stuttered.

"What do you want, Scott?" Thomas asked again.

Scott can't seem to get over the shock of finding out his 'best friend' could inflict that much pain. Oh my god, he's being such a baby, Thomas thought. He had barely twisted it. He resisted the urge to roll his eyes and turned to Liam, the only tolerable on in the pack.

"What are you doing here, Liam?" he asked, not unkindly.

"Uh, Peter told us you were planning something, so Scott came here and brought us," he answered nervously, thought Thomas would never hurt him. He needed to leave quickly, in the fading light, it was getting hard to see peoples lips, and therefore hard to lip read.

He nodded. "I'm going to assume you tracked me here by smell." He received a nod from the beta. "I'm also going to assume that you are going to try to stop me from doing whatever it is that I'm planning." Another nod. "Ah, okay. Glad we got that cleared up." He paused. "Bye." He hurried into his jeep and turned the keys, hoping that the vehicle would start quickly. It did, thankfully and he backed out of the driveway and sped off home, tired of this day.

Hey, dad, he signed to his father as he walked past the living room. He smiled, hearing the very muffled voice of his father reply back.

He quickly got ready for bed, and laid down, staring at the ceiling with an arm behind his head. With his short sleeve shirt on, you could see his muscles as he unintentionally flexed the arm behind him. You could also see his scars, which he covers up around people. Not because he's embarrassed. No, he actually likes his scars. Each comes with a story, and they all show that he survived. That's something only a few can say.

No, he covers them up to avoid the questions that would surely be asked if anyone saw them. He would show people them one day. Someday in the future, when he could talk about the time he was gone without having a breakdown or a panic attack.

That was what happened when he told Melissa and his father.

He sighs, his thoughts drifting to the same person they always do right before he falls asleep. Sometimes, they result in peaceful dreams turned into nightmares, and sometimes they are nightmares turned into dreams.

Tonight though, it was a memory.

A very special memory...

That you'll read about in the next chapter.
