      Merrill had gone back to the city for a few days because he had a big game, but he was due back. Amber didn't know it but he had stopped off to pick out the perfect ring for her.

Back on the farm, it has been a week since Merrill left. Bo came to Amber and asked her to bake some cookies with her. Amber smiled ruffling her hair, "ok kiddo."

"yay!" Bo cheered and ran to the kitchen.

Just then Morgan came in, "Auntie Amber, I just heard on the radio that the panthers won their game so they'll be going to Hawaii to play the warriors.... that means uncle Merrill is going to be gone even longer."

A loud crash noise was in the kitchen and the kids noticed Amber accidentally dropped the glass bottle of milk. "Sorry...," she said softly, "let me just...clean this up. She then broke down once she was on her knees picking the glass pieces.

The kids rushed to her and hugged her "don't worry Aunt Amber, you can still see him on the tv, and speak to him on the phone."

"that's silly," Bo huffed, "she will still miss him a lot."

"...," Amber got up and walked out of the house. She just needed to be alone, Graham noticed her crying as she walked passed him to the door.

"Amber...," he went after her, "is everything okay?"

"Please. Please just give me a minute." She sobbed as she walked out.

"Amber...look!" Graham shouted and pointed.

Merrill's truck was now coming up the drive. Amber stopped and seen him, she was confused. The kids came out and saw him.

"Uncle Merrill!!" The kids ran to his truck as he pulled up and got out  "we thought you were going to Hawaii!"

"Yeah, I was supposed to be but.....I had to see you guys first!" he hugged them, then noticed Amber and smiled. Bo and Morgan let him go so he could run to her and hug her tightly.

Amber was in shocked. She was so confused, he pulled back and held her face, but noticed she had been crying.

"Honey, what's wrong?" he brushed her tears away and gently held her face.

"She heard you were going to Hawaii," Bo replied for her.

She nodded tearing up again and sniffled, "but...you came. I just...didn't expect you would, Merrill."

Merrill smiled, "Amber, I love baseball, you know that....but I love you more. I'm not going to Hawaii, I want to be here with you. With my family."

"What? But Merrill, its your-," he then kissed her to shut her up.

Morgan looked away "yuck."

Bo giggled. Graham took their hands and led the kids inside to give them their privacy.

Finally Merrill broke the kiss "it's fine, don't worry. I'm not giving up the game, just....I think I'll stick to the minor leagues, then I don't have to travel far and be away from you"

Amber blushed. She then smiled and threw her arms around him and hugged him crying happily. He held her waist and picked her up, spinning her around as he chuckled. She giggled at him and once he set her to her feet she kissed him deeply holding his face. He melted in the kiss, he wrapped his arms around her and squeezed her tight as he kissed her back.

"I love you, Merrill Hess," she smiled.

"....and I love you, Amber Gold," he then got down on one knee and pulled the ring box from his pocket, "you still want to be Mrs Amber Hess?"

"Yes!" She cried "more than anything, Merrill! I can't think of anything better than be Mrs Hess."

Amber then broke down happily as he placed the ring on her finger.

"Neither can I," he agreed, as he smiled happily and pulled her into his arms, "I love you so much."

"And I love you, Puppy," she smiled hugging him back. Soon the kids came running and hugged them. Graham smiled coming to them and hugged them as well. This was truly a happy ending for everyone....
