Mr Gold's POV

We now had enough with the Thing. Already now Garry disappeared because we found out he was taken control by the Thing now. Then Nauls even disappeared when the rest of us head to the boiler building to set up explosives. Childs...now Childs we don't know. He disappeared since after the blood test. Dr Hess, myself and Mac were together the whole time. Mac said it was best we all stayed together so the Thing wouldn't get us all, all at once. At this point, I just knew the Thing had Garry.

While Mac and Dr Hess set up the bomb, I turned to the dark hallway. "What is that?"

Dr Hess looked up and Mac. There infront of us was a small black pod.

"Wait, I seen this, Clark and I found it in the Norwegian base. I think he put it here." Dr Hess then picked up.

"Woe! What are you doing?" Mac and I gasped.

"What? I am taking it home for research."

"Dude, we don't know what that thing could be holding," Mac said. He then turned to me. "Best you use your X Ray magic vision."

I nodded and placed my hands on the pod. There was nothing in it, "you're good."

"Nothing to worry about," Hess smiled.

But then we stopped hearing a loud bang. We turned and saw something come toward us. Dr Hess and Mac then grabbed me and we ran then dove against the wall before the figure got to us. Then it broke through the floor. Before us it was the Thing. It let out a rawr at us.

"The Thing got Nauls!" Mac said.

"Mac! You better think of something before we're next!" Hess yelled.

Mac looked beside us and found a flare. "Gold!" But then he froze in fear.

I was grabbed by the Thing. It's slimy tentacle held my neck and dragged me close to it. "MAC!?"

Hess helped Mac lighting up the flare. "HEY @$$HOLE!" Mac yelled at the Thing.

The Thing stopped dragging me and turned to Mac and Hess.

"Let our friend go! Or you get it!"

Mac smirked, "that's right. I am."

"You understand him!?" Hess gasped.

"I will explain later." Mac said. He threw the flare at him.

I panicked trying to get away, but I noticed Mac rolled the purple marbles by me. Which made the Thing to scream.

Mac then grabbed me by my jacket and stood by the door, "Yeah? F*** YOU TOO B!TCH!" All three of us ran out the door and then the explosion happened.

I was shaking. I checked myself shaking.

"You ok?"

"He could be infected now! We failed!" Hess said.

"No we didn't," Mac said, "he's fine. I found out while you guys weren't looking, Gold placed a magic protection on himself. But it only last after the blood test. I put one of the marbles in his pocket. I knew they would protect him."

I was in shocked. I checked my pockets and felt the marble. I pulled it out and looked up at him.

"Those marbles...they are from another world, I know about it." Mac said, "that's why I was acting crazy...sorta."

"There you guys are."

We all stopped frozen. Infront of us was Childs.

"Childs. Where the h*** you been?" Dr Hess asked.

"I was around," he said making a expressionless face. "What about you three?"

"Been around," Mac replied.

"Mac...I don't think..." he cut me off.

"I thought we were suppose to stick together, Childs."

"I was, where were you 3?"

"....you're not, Childs." Mac glared. "Besides, you disappeared right after the blood test."

"Then what are you planning to do?"

Mac glared at him as Dr Hess helped me up. Childs noticed the Pod. "What are you gonna do with that?"

"The pod? We're taking it," Mac replied.

Childs then frowned at him. He then turned to me and walked towards me, but Mac stopped him, "that's far enough, Childs." Mac held his flamethrower at him.

I was shaking. I didn't want the Thing to grab me again. Not knowing what it really wanted.

"You're afraid," Childs smirked at me.

"I know it's you...what do you want?" I asked, "and why you keep calling me the Dark One? I am no longer the Dark One."

"You are to me and my kind." He replied, "you and Your wife will have a daughter...she will be the hero of your world. We have to destroy you before she is conceived."

I froze in fear. Belle wasn't pregnant, but I was gonna be a father? And we would have a daughter? And be a hero? Ok big responsibility for my little girl, but seriously!?

I stood my ground and glared at Not-Childs, "I won't let you. You're the Dark One here!"

He growled at me and jumped at me.

"RUMPLE!" Mac and Hess screamed.

"T҉̘͙͖̠̓ͦ͑̄͜͜͟͞h̷̶̘̘̬ͭ̏͞͡e̵̡̫̫͍͕̎ͭ̐͟͟͝͞n̸͐̈́͟͟͝ D҉̣͍̓̎͗͜͜i҉̧̯̤̙͔̑ͧ̅̔ͦ́͜͟͢͝͠e̵̡̫̫͍͕̎ͭ̐͟͟͝͞!"

I held my hand at him and blast a fire ball at the Thing. "No one...is going to hurt...my family!" I yelled. We both fought against each other.

"Gold!" Mac screamed.

"Get the helicopter ready!" I yelled back, "I will hold him off!"

"But-"

Hess grabbed him and they ran to the helicopter.

The Thing leaped at me, but I jumped away and smirked, "Come at me, right here! I'm not afraid of you anymore!"

The Thing snapped his head in a 39 degree angle towards me.

"Ok I'm afraid of that." I said.

The Thing then shed the skin of Childs off of him. He had a large head of a squid with three eyes in the center. It's body was nothing more of large tentacles from it's abdomen. It was now much larger and taller than any man. But I wasn't afraid.

"You trying to scare me!? I am still not afraid of you!" I yelled.

"Gold!"

I turned and saw Mac and Hess in the helicopter and threw a rope to me. "Grab on, I pull you up!" Mac called to me.

I ran for the rope as the Thing chased me. I didn't care. I knew it wouldn't be able to catch me. I then jumped and grabbed the rope over a cliff. Mac then pulled me up and finally I got on board. I groaned and tried to catch my breath.

"You ok?" Mac asked.

I then nodded. "Just...just thankful I am alive...and I am gonna be...a father." I smiled. "I can't wait to see Belle."
