Morgan and Bo were shaking and scared hearing Xander scream as Merrill held them.

"I want Auntie Amber," Bo cried.

Morgan was shaking that he ran deeper in the basement.

"Morgan?" Graham whispered for him.

"Graham...." Merrill back, "where's Morgan? I thought he was with you?"

"You had him with Bo!" He said in a low whisper.

Merrill looked around, it was so dark he could hardly see.

"He was right behind me, then Bo got upset and I picked her up....I let go of his hand for a second but....now I don't see him!" he said, panicking.

"Keep your voice down!" He whispered. "Xander is here. He has to be here somewhere." He picked up the flashlight, "Bo, stay here until we get back." He kissed her forehead after Merrill set her down and he and Merrill went looking for Morgan. They finally found him shaking by a vent and looked like he had been crying.

"What?" He asked snotty like.

Suddenly a hand from the vent reached for him. It was Xander.

"MORGAN!" Graham and Merrill panicked.

"I got him!" Graham said once he grabbed his son. Merrill then grabbed his pocket knife nearby and stabbed Xander's wrist.

Xander screamed in pain, "CURSE YOU HUMANS!!!"

"CURSE YOU F****ING ALIENS!!" Merrill yelled back in a rage, as he turned and ran, following Graham and Morgan back down to the basement.

Merrill picked up Bo and followed them.

"OUT OF THE HOUSE! OUT OF THE HOUSE!" Graham yelled to the kids, but then Bo screamed because Xander jumped at them and punched Merrill  and then Graham down. Morgan pushed Bo behind him as Xander turned to them. Bo was shaking and crying.

Morgan then gasped when Xander grabbed him.

"...," Bo tried to speak but she just stood there in fear.

Finally Graham and Merrill got up in pain. Merrill was in shock seeing Morgan held in Xander's arm. He was about to rush to him, but Graham stopped him. "Wait, Merrill."

Merrill looked at Graham in confusion, then back at Xander "let him go! You already took Amber, I won't let you take my nephew too!"

Xander turned to him. He held a needle up to the boy's face. Morgan was shaking and started to tear up.

Graham looked worried now.

"Heheh, this boy will end up just like your pathetic hero, boy," Xander told Merrill with a evil grin.

Merrill frowned, "are you talking about Amber?! No doubt you've got her as a prisoner onboard your ship. How predictable for an alien invader to take a hero from earth and keep her prisoner."

"She's gone," Xander smirked, "and soon you all will join her, you first."

"...gone? what do you mean? You haven't...?" he shook his head and clenched his fists, "...you're lying. You better be lying."

Bo started to cry. "N-no..."

Graham looked up. He lost hope now, Amber was his only hope, and now she was gone?

Merrill broke up, but continued to shake his head.

Graham was now remembering the night he was with Colleen before Amber and Merrill came.

Coleen was looking at Graham, but her eyes were glazed over. Graham's eyes were filled with tears as he held her hand to try and comfort her in her last moments.

"Tell Morgan to play games, it's okay to be silly...and tell Bo to listen to her brother, he'll always take care of her...tell Amber to believe in herself...and tell Graham to see...tell him to see, ....and t-tell Merrill to......swing away."

Then it hit Graham. Swing Away, Merrill. He turned and saw the bat. "Swing away, Merrill." He said softly.

At first Merrill didn't hear him.

"Merrill, swing away..."

Merrill turned to Graham, he was still hurt and angered at the thought of Amber being murdered by Xander. But then Graham's words sunk in. He slowly turned to look at his famous bat that was on the wall. He realized then what Graham meant, so he picked the bat up and held it tightly in his hands.

Xander wasn't paying attention. He then sprayed the poison in Morgan's face, which made Bo to scream.

Merrill wasted no more time, he lunged forward and hit Xander around the head with the bat, causing him to drop Morgan.

Xander groaned and hissed at Merrill, "oh that is it, you pathetic human! YOU'RE DEAD! Just like your girl!"

Merrill hit him again, even harder, which knocked him down. Before he could get up Merrill hit him again, and again, while Graham quickly picked Morgan up.

Xander then kicked Merrill off of him, but he felt a burning pain on his shoulder. He turned and saw water was hitting his shoulder.

Bo had placed all the water cups around the house. For some reason she sensed the aliens were afraid or water was harmful to them.

Bo rushed to follow her father and brother outside, but looked through the window watching her uncle fight against Xander.

"You don't want to join her? I thought you love that girl," he chuckled darkly.

"...I think she'd rather you joined her!! If there's an afterlife she'll be waiting to kick your a$$!!" Merrill growled, as he swung his bat and smashed a row of cups containing water so that it splashed more onto Xander, and while he was distracted by the burning pain, Merrill hit him with the bat again.

Xander cried out. He hissed at him and grabbed Merrill's neck after his bat split in half. Xander was weak, but he tried to choke him. "Then you will join me so she...will see me...hurt you... that will make her...weak..."

Merrill couldn't speak. He just glared at Xander as he looked him dead in the eye.

Suddenly Xander tripped back and fell. The last glass tipped over and burned his face as he screamed in agony. "NOOOO!!!!"

Merrill stood and watched Xander grasp his face in agony as his skin burned. Soon Xander froze and went limb. The smoke rose from his face as he laid lifeless on the floor.

Merrill wasn't sure if he was dead or not. It felt too good to be true. But then he heard something outside. He bursted out and something crashed into the field. He ran, but stopped seeing Morgan slowly waking up.

"Merrill, he's alright. He's alright," Graham said, "He's ok."

"Dad, did someone save me?" Morgan asked.

Merrill ran to them and fell to his knees "Graham....this is like... a miracle or something."

"God saved you, Morgan!" Bo cried happily.

"...what was that crash," Morgan asked, "something crashed in the field...," he groaned.

Merrill looked across to the corn field, "Graham, wait here with the kids...," he then ran into the cornfield to look.

He finally came to the spot, it was Amber. Her skin was glowing a violet color but it was fading back to her normal self. She wasn't moving. She even had a cut on her head and her nose had been bleeding.

He rushed to Amber and lifted her up.

"Amber?"

She slowly opened her eyes and cried in pain. She felt her body was on fire.

"What is it, honey? What's wrong?"

"My body...it feels like...its on fire...," she whimpered.

Merrill didn't know what to do, "what can I do, honey? how can I make it better?"

He wanted to lift her and carry her out of the field but he didn't want to hurt her.

"I-ice...I-ice..."

He probably should put her in the tub full of ice water, so he carefully picked her up as she cried in pain. "D-did...I save the world? Did we stop, Xander?"

Merrill smiled at her as he carried her inside.

Morgan, Bo and Graham were in shock to see her.

"Auntie!" Morgan and Bo cried out, but Merrill stopped them.

"Hang on kids, she's in a lot of pain. She'll be fine, just....she needs a minute. You can help out by fetching some ice," he took her upstairs and carefully set her down so he could fill the tub with cold water. Bo and Morgan brought ice and once the ice water bath was all ready Merrill picked her up and placed Amber in.

"Ah...," she hissed in pain.

"Amber?" Graham came in, "You're...you're alive..."

"Y-yes," she said.

"Xander told us he killed you."

"No...I was locked up, but I escaped...saved alien prisoners, and...my dad's friend...he saved me...and...he's a guardian..."

"A guardian?" Morgan asked.

"A guardian angel." Bo smiled.

"Yes...he's a alien too. He...he saved me...," Amber slightly smiled.

"After everything that's happened, I believe anything," Merrill chuckled, "I'm just so thankful that he saved you...and Graham, he had the idea for me to use my bat to defeat Xander."

Amber smiled at him. "My hero." She took his hand and squeezed it.

Merrill blushed and shook his head, smiling, "I'm no hero. It was Graham's idea. He's always been a quicker thinker than me."

Graham chuckled, "well, I am just glad we all back together."

"Is...is Xander...gone?" Amber asked.

Merrill nodded, "he's gone, big bird."

"Oh, Puppy," she hugged him.

Graham smiled. Merrill smiled and hugged her with Graham and the kids.
