"Is three enough?" Kira asked Stiles as Melanie set her laptop on the table beside Scott and Liam's. "Depends on how many cameras they have. But I think so." Stiles breathed out and Melanie started biting her nails. "Are we really doing this?" She asked, looking around at the three older teens.

"We're doing it. Tonight." Scott said, nodding his head. "But isn't it kind of dangerous?" Liam asked and Melanie crossed her arms, letting out a 'hmph' noise. "It's incredibly dangerous." "And borderline idiotic." Stiles added, making Melanie nod.

Liam turned to Melanie, noticing her worry. "Have you guys done something like this before?" Melanie let out a dry laugh. "Something dangerous? Or something idiotic?"

"I think it's a yes to both." Kira answered Melanie's question.

Scott quickly turned to Liam. "You don't have to be part of it if you don't want to-" "I'm not scared." Liam interrupted and Stiles patted his shoulder. "Then you're borderline idiotic." Melanie chuckled at his words, wrapping her arm around Liam's shoulder.

"If we do this, we don't know what's coming for us. You know that, right?" Stiles asked and Melanie shifted on her feet. "How do we even know something's definitely coming?"

"Because the tape from Garrett's bag said visual confirmation required." Scott said, looking up at her. Stiles nodded. "Simon said the same thing. He couldn't get paid by The Benefactor until he had proof that you guys were dead."

"So the idea is, what if you kill someone on the dead pool, but you can't send the proof?" Scott asked. "You don't get paid." Kira and Melanie breathed out, the boys nodding.

"But how does that get us any closer to The Benefactor?" Liam asked, looking around at everyone. "He still needs to know if the target is really dead." Scott answered.

"Especially if it's someone high on the list." Stiles muttered and Melanie nodded, catching on. "So, if he wants visual confirmation..." "He's going to have to come get it himself." Scott finished.

...

"Are you guys totally sure about this?" Liam asked, pacing around Scott's room after Kira called her and Mel's mom to go over the plan. "I think Liam's kind of nervous. Maybe you should tell him it's going to be all right." Melanie said, bouncing back and forth on her feet, trying to hide the worry she was feeling as well.

Scott chuckled. "It's going to be all right."

Liam nodded, turning to Noshiko. "So, you've done this before, right?" She tilted her head a little at his question. "I've seen it done."

"Is that just as good?" Liam asked, trying to find any reassurance. "No." Melanie turned to her mother with wide eyes. "Mom!" "Mom, you're not inspiring confidence." Kira added. "Mom?" Liam asked Melanie.

"Good. This is a terrible idea." Noshiko answered Kira's words as Melanie turned to Liam, nodding her head and when she turned back to her mom, she could see Liam straighten up out of the corner of her eyes.

"Do you want us to do it without you?" Kira asked and the room immediately grew silent, Melanie internally wincing.

The mother sighed, turning to Kira. "Put your hand over his heart." Kira slowly complied, putting her hand over his heart and just before she could do anything, Scott shot up, turning to Noshiko worriedly. "Hold on. What happens while I'm out? Am I gonna feel anything?"

"It might feel like you're dreaming." She replied.

"Good dreams or bad?" Scott asked as Melanie pulled her hands to her face to bite her nails but just before she could, Liam grabbed her hand to hold, both of them nervous wrecks.

"I suppose that depends on you." Noshiko answered and Scott nodded, lying back down.

Kira put her hand back over his chest and slowly, electricity started leaving Kira's hand, going into Scott. Melanie squeezed Liam's hand as tight as she could, Liam returning the gesture as Scott let out a big gasp.

...

"He looks like... really dead." Melanie muttered, going to poke Scott's cheek before Noshiko reached over, slapping her hand as Melissa entered the morgue area. "I still hate this plan. I mean this is pretty significantly terrifyingly. He looks dead."

Noshiko gave Melissa a reassuring smile. "Give me your hand." Melissa turned to Stiles worriedly who nodded his head. "It's okay."

Melissa gave the woman her hand and she quickly put it on Scott's chest. "Wait for it."

It was quiet for a second until Melissa felt a heartbeat, a small laugh escaping her lips. "Is that enough to keep a werewolf alive?"

"Enough for an Alpha." Noshiko spoke and Melissa took her hand off of Scott, clearing her throat. "How much time do we have?"

"Forty-five minutes." Melanie breathed out and Melissa turned to her. "What happens after that?"

"I bring him back the same way." Kira spoke and Melissa shook her head. "No, I mean what happens if he stays like this longer than forty-five minutes?"

"No one's told her?" Noshiko asked and Melanie clenched her jaw, looking to the ground. Melissa looked around at everyones now slumped faces. "What? What happens after forty-five minutes?"

"He dies."

...

"We're here. You ready?" Argent asked on the phone before hearing a small electrical shock and Belle hissing in pain. Melanie rolled her eyes, turning to Stiles. "I can't believe you left Belle alone with Argent." Stiles turned to her. "You got a better idea?"

"Try it now." Argent's voice rang again and Stiles turned on Melanie's computer, the other two turning on automatically after, the cameras to the hospital showing.

Melanie let out a small laugh, watching the cameras when Liam hit her shoulder. Melanie turned to him as he pointed at on of the screens. "Is that supposed to look like that?"

Stiles turned to see what Liam was talking about and immediately shook his head. "No. No, it's not."

"Where is that?" Kira asked. "The roof. Someone's gonna have to check it out." Stiles breathed out and Kira nodded, grabbing her katana. "I'll go."

Melanie chuckled. "Well, if you're going, I'm sure as hell going."

"Whoa, whoa. This might not just be a malfunction." Stiles said and Melanie gave him a cheeky smile, making her katana appear in her hand. "That's why we're bringing these." Stiles sighed and the sisters started to leave the room.

"I'm coming with you." Liam yelled, following after them. "Okay. And you're all coming right back. Immediately." Stiles' voice rang from the room they were once in as Liam caught up with Melanie, running beside her.

When they got to the roof, the electrical boxes were sparking, almost in flames. "Looks like someone did something to it." Liam breathed out and Melanie nodded.

Something growled from behind the three and they slowly turned around, Melanie immediately taking out her katana at the berserker. "I think somebody did..."

...

Argent and Belle sped down the hallway of the hospital. As they passed on of the doorway, someone grabbed Belle's arm, making her grunt.

Argent spun around, pointing the gun to whoever grabbed Belle and immediately lowered it at Stiles.

"The power's out in the whole building. I lost all the cameras." Stiles breathed out as Belle tried to fix her shirt. "You two. Stay with Scott. Text me if you see or hear anything." Argent explained, making Belle's jaw drop. "Wh-" "Go!"

The two nodded, running back to Scott.

...

Liam was the first to run to the berserker, getting two good swipes in before the berserker grabbed Liam by the throat, throwing him into the gate guarding the electrical boxes.

Mel gripped her katana tighter, running to the creature. Every time she tried to hit the berserker with her sword, she only hit it's bones or ribs.

The berserker grabbed Melanie by the throat just like it had with Liam, throwing her off to the side but Liam quickly caught her by the waist, keeping her from falling.

...

"Answer the phone. Answer the phone, Argent." Stiles whispered as Belle paced around the morgue. "Come on, Argent, answer the phone." Stiles groaned and Belle quickly turned to him. "Why is his not answering the phone?"

Suddenly, Chris Argent was thrown into the room, falling to the floor. "Run. Stiles, Belle, get out of here." He grunted as someone walked into the room.

Belle's eyes grew wide at Kate Argent. The woman just smirked at the two kids. "Get out of the way, kids. I'm taking the body."

"Why? Visual confirmation?" Belle snapped, standing in front of Scott protectively and Kate smirked at her. "Don't worry, dollface. I'm not The Benefactor."

"Then what do you want with the body?" Argent groaned.

"I wish I could tell you." Kate said as Chris ran to her, pulling a gun right under her chin, making her sigh. "I always forget you carry two."

"Back off!" Argent screamed and Kate smirked. "You sure you can pull the trigger fast enough?"

"I don't want to." The man mumbled as Stiles and Belle watched the scene in front of them, Belle pulling her lips into a line.

"You're not going to kill me." Kate mumbled and Argent dug the gun into her chin more. "I'm not going to let you take his body."

Stiles cleared his throat, patting Belle's shoulder. "Okay, well, obviously you guys have a lot to talk about, so, maybe I saw some coffee, a vending machine outside... We can go."

"Listen to me, Kate. We have a plan." Chris tried to explain, the woman only tilting her head to the side. "If killing Scott was part of it, you're worse than me."

"He's telling the truth. We're trying to get to The Benefactor." Belle finally spoke up, Stiles nodding along with her. "If you didn't notice, you're on that list too." She added. "And you're worth more than most." Chris butted in.

"That's why I'm here!" Kate yelled. "Then back off and let us do what we planned." Chris yelled back as Belle looked down at her watch. 3 minutes.

"Take the Berserkers, and go." Chris mumbled. "Kate, please. We have a plan."

...

"Mel, Liam, run. Get out of here." Kira yelled as Melanie groaned, going to stab the berserker with her katana. "I'm not leaving you up here alone!" Mel screamed to Kira. Melanie looked back at Liam finally starting to get up. "Liam!"

The boy looked up at Melanie before climbing up the gate right beside the berserker. Melanie watched with wide eyes, the berserker turning to look at Liam as he jumped on the creature.

...

After Kate sent her berserkers away, Kira, Liam and Melanie ran through the hallways to get to the morgue.

Melanie ran beside Liam when he suddenly stopped. Melanie slowed down, turning to him. "What?" Liam lifted his head a little higher, his brows furrowing. "Blood."

Liam sprinted down the hall. Melanie looked at him wide eyed before following after him. He turned down a few halls before skidding to a stop, making Melanie ram into his back.

She looked up to see why he stopped and she immediately felt her heart drop at the sight of Melissa McCall holding a bloody Noshiko Yukimura in her arms.

Melanie ran over to the women, kneeling down beside her mom. 

"No, no, no. Stay with me, Mom. Momma..." Melanie whispered, her throat closing up slightly as she put pressure on her moms wound. "What the hell happened here?" Liam's stepdad yelled as he and Liamran down the hall towards the four. "Just help me get her off the floor." Melissa yelled.

More doctors came to help Noshiko up as Melanie felt her heart going at a mile a minute. Melissa noticed the out of breath girl and immediately pulled her into her arms to calm her down.

...

"My mom's being taken to a hospital in Palo Alto. They actually put her in a helicopter." Melanie said as she sat on her bed, Belle and Liam sitting across from her. "But she's going to be okay? Right?" Liam asked and Melanie pulled her lips into aline to stop her shaky breaths.

She grabbed her wolf stuffed animal and hugged onto it as she nodded. "Yeah. She just... doesn't heal like she used to."

It was quiet for a second before she spoke up again. "I wanted to be there with her. To go. Especially if she's still on the list still but she said no. I'm just worried... you know?" Melanie said, her voice cracking lightly.

Belle instantly shot up, sitting beside Melanie and pulling her into her side. Belle looked up and nudged her head to the other side of Melanie, telling him to sit there.

Liam quickly sat on the other side of Melanie, wrapping an arm around her shoulder, resting his head on her shoulder. "She's gonna be okay, Mel." Belle whispered as Melanie nodded. "I'm just scared..."

Belle and Liam nodded hugging onto her tighter. "It's okay to be scared, Mel." Liam whispered and Belle nodded in agreement. "It's okay to be scared."
