Broken Nose
While everyone was off doing their own things, Belle and Hayden were in charge of keep the town safe incase an attack strikes.
The two at the moment we're heading to the Sheriffs Station, dropping some food off for Valerie, Hayden's sister. As the girls walked towards the entrance, they could hear Lydia's screams from inside.
Hayden dropped the bag of food onto the floor, her and Belle running in to check on the Martin girl.
The door swung open as they barreled in. Belle felt her heart drop as she watched Lydia across the room, hold onto her slit throat, falling onto her knees on the ground, a man with a smirk standing over her.
"Lydia!" Belle cried out as Hayden grabbed her hand, catching the mans attention. He slowly turned to them, making Belle freeze.
"Get behind me." Belle muttered, pushing Hayden behind her but still holding her hand. The man squinted at Belle, tilting his head as he tried to remember her from Masons memory's.
"Belle." The man whispered, making the Parker girl freeze. The man smiled, realizing he was right by how she reacted.
"Your name is Belle. And you are Hayden." The man said, looking at Belle during his first sentence and Hayden at his second one, The girls looked at him with scared eyes, grasping each other's hands and just as they were about to run away, the man jumped at them.
...
Sebastian had Hayden lead him to the dread doctors layer. Having a hold of both girls be the backs of their neck, the man tossed them to the ground when he entered the room, staring at the tapestry of the Beast and the Hellhound in admiration.
Hayden groaned, sitting up slightly as she rubbed the back of her head, standing up. "I brought you here like you wanted. How about letting us go now?"
The man only ignored Hayden, turning to the tapestry on the wall and pointing at the Beast surrounded in flames. "This demon, on the left. What is he?" Hayden and Belle didn't answer, leaving the man to grow annoyed, looking into Masons mind to remember.
He smiled, a sense of relief taking over as he looked at the two girls. "He's called a Hellhound. Parrish... His name is Parrish, isn't it? And the Argents will try to put the pike in his hands."
Belle grew angered at the man, she went to sit up, her hand landing on a small piece of metal. She subtly looked back at it before turning back to Sebastian, grabbing the metal tightly in her hand.
Belle slowly stood up to stand beside Hayden, waiting for the man to turn back to the tapestry and when he did, Belle ran to him, going to lodge the metal into his neck but before she could, Sebastian turned around, grabbing Belle's hand.
The Parker girl let o a gasp in shock. Sebastian tilted his head before jamming his claws into Belle's stomach. Belle let out a small yelp as Hayden screamed. "Belle!"
Sebastian ripped his claws out of Belle's stomach and the girl slowly fell to the floor. He watched the girl holding her bleeding abdomen as Hayden ran over. He scoffed, shaking his head and walking away. "When did young people become so confident?"
"I got you. I got you." Hayden whispered, hugging Belle's head into the crook of her neck, taking her pain before starting to help her up.
...
Sheriff Stilinski called his son and Scott to inform them about Lydia and since they were both already with Liam and Melanie in search for Sebastian, the four headed to the hospital to check on the Martin girl.
Melanie and Liam were sitting in the waiting room, not allowed in Lydia's room. Melanie wasn't that close with Lydia but she still cared for the girl. Her leg bounced in worry as she chewed on her thumb nail. Liam looked at Melanie worried, placing his hand over the knee that was bouncing, rubbing his thumb on her in hopes to calm her down.
Melanie's leg slowed and she turned to Liam, still biting her nail. A small chuckle left Liam's lips as he used his free hand to grab Melanie's hand, kissing the back of it before squeezing it tightly. He sighed as he removed his hand from her knee, wrapping it around her shoulder and pulling her into his side. "Everything's gonna be okay." He muttered and Melanie softly nodded.
She looked down at her phone, checking if she had gotten a call from Belle or Hayden on what they had discovered but her eyes went wide at a missed voicemail.
"What? What is it?" Liam asked, looking at Melanie with worried eyes. Melanie let out a small exhale, her brows furrowing at her phone. "A voicemail. From Kira. She called last night. I- I must've missed it." She slowly raised the phone to her ear, pressing play.
"Hey, it's me. Oh, God. I wish you just picked up. I hate leaving messages. You know that because you do too. We both always ramble. We say something stupid and then when we finally get to the super important thing that we were supposed to say, the voice-mail cuts off and-"
A loud beep cutting Kira off made Melanie chuckle. Liam smiled at Melanie's laugh, not hearing it for the passed few days. Melanie looked back down at her phone, noticing her sister left another voicemail, she pressed play and listened.
"Me again. I have to leave for a while. But I'm coming back. I promise. I know we've been a little off... mostly because of me. I've just- I've been a bad sister lately and I'm so sorry. I'll come back for you, Mel. I promise. I love you so much."
Melanie frowned at the voicemail, feeling a small tug on her heart. Her thumb wavered over the delete button since that was normally what she did to her voicemails but a small part of her told her to not delete it. With a small sigh, she turned off her phone and put it back in her pocket.
Suddenly, Scott came barreling out of Lydia's room, walking towards the sophomores with smiles. "Get up."
Melanie and Liam reluctantly stood up, looking at Scott in confusion. "Why?" Liam asked, only making Scott smile more. "Because I've got an idea. And because this isn't over. Now, come on." He said happily, jogging to Lydia's room, the couple following after.
Melanie slowly walked into the room where Melissa, Stiles and Lydia already were. She sent a small smile to Lydia that the Martin girl instantly returned before Melissa sighed, catching everyone's attention. "Lydia, this is gonna have to be just between us, since I can get fired for it." Melissa said before pulling out a huge needle, making Melanie, Stiles and Liams eyes widen.
"It's a cortisone shot. It's gonna bring the inflammation down." Melissa said and Lydia nodded, lifting up her arm for the woman to inject it. Melissa sighed, shaking her head. "Not there." She mumbled before pointing at Lydia's neck.
Stiles' eyes went wider, eagerly shaking his head. "Oh, yeah, okay, I'm gonna need to leave." He mumbled, going to walk out of the room before Melissa grabbed his shoulder, stopping him. "You're not going anywhere. Hold her hand."
"Why can't Mel do it?" Stiles whined and Melissa glared at the boy. Stiles looked back and forth between Melissa and Lydia before sighing in defeat, grabbing Lydia's hand. "Okay, fine. I'm not leaving, but I still might faint."
Melissa nodded, turning back to Lydia. "Okay. Here we go." She mumbled, leaning towards Lydia to put the needle in her neck. Melanie, seeing Liam wobble out of the corner of her eyes slightly, turned to him just as he started to fall to the ground. "Oh, shit!" Melanie yelled, quickly catching him under her arms.
Everyone in the room turned to her and the unconscious Liam, making her smile at them awkwardly. "I got him." She mumbled, a stressed and awkward laugh passing through her lips as she walked backwards into the chairs, setting Liam down in a seat before taking the seat beside him.
Liam's head fell, bringing the whole top half of him down as he fell across Melanie's lap, making her sigh in defeat, not wanting to have to lift him again.
Melissa sighed, rubbing Lydia's shoulder as she gave her a soft pair of eyes. "Okay, Lydia, this is gonna hurt like a bitch." Lydia pulled her lips into a line, nodding her head. Melissa let out a small breath before she pushed the needle into Lydia's neck.
The girl let out a loud scream, shaking the room. Melanie, Scott and Stiles covered their ears as Melissa winced in pain. Liam shot up from the scream, looking around with wide eyes before covering his own ears in pain.
When Lydia stopped screaming, she tried to catch her breath. Melanie shot out of her seat, running towards the foot of the bed. "Are you okay?" Lydia slowly looked up at Melanie, nodding.
Scott turned to the Yukimura girl and nodded towards Lydia. "Help her up?" Melanie turned to Scott, nodding before going to the opposite side of the hospital bed as him. Scott helped pushed Lydia towards Melanie's side where she wrapped her arm around Melanie's shoulder.
Melanie helped her stand up and once she was fine without falling, the five headed out of the hospital.
"Okay. I'll get Malia. Text me when you find Parrish." Stiles said, turning to walk down the hall before Scott stuck his arm out, stopping him. "Hold on." Stiles' brows furrowed, looking at Scott in confusion as he pulled out a wrapped object from his pocket. "What is this?"
"Something I've been working on for a while. Just make sure Malia gets it." Scott said. Stiles squinted at the object before looking up at Scott. "Is it plan B?" Scott smirked, shaking his head. "It was plan A." Stiles frowned at Scott's words, shaking his head. "Plan A never works."
"This one will." Scott said. Stiles tilted his head at his best friend in uncertainty before sighing, running out of the hospital.
...
"Hold on Belle. We're almost there." Hayden breathed out, growing tired from carrying her injured and bloody girlfriend to the other side of town. She stumbled into the clinic through the back door.
Belle tripped, knocking over a tray of appliances, catching Deaton's attention from the other room. The man walked into and looked at the two girls with worry. "Hayden? Belle?"
He quickly ran towards the girls, helping Hayden carry Belle towards the medical table. Hayden fell back onto Deatons spiny chair with a sigh, as she tried to catch her breath. "They said that you can help us when we get hurt. Well, I think she's pretty hurt."
...
Scott, Liam, Melanie and Lydia walked through the Argent tunnels in search for Sebastian. As the four walked, a faint crackling noise echoed around them, making Melanie slow her steps. "Scott? You hear that?" Liam asked, turning to Scott as Melanie looked around with squinted eyes, trying to find the noise. "I heard that." Melanie mumbled and Lydia nodded from beside her, looking around. "Me too."
Scott instantly turned to the girl, shaking his head. "Lydia, save your voice." Lydia rolled her eyes at the boy as Meanie looked around the tunnels, trying to find where the sound was coming from. When she took a small step, she heard a light splash, making her look down.
They were all standing on a small puddle of water and then it clicked for Mel. She heard electricity. Knowing she, Liam and Scott could heal, she turned to Lydia in a panicked state.
"Lydia, get out of the water!" Melanie screamed. She wasn't close enough to the strawberry blonde but she quickly made a branch grow from the small crack of dirt in the tunnels to wrap around Lydia's waist and pull her out of the water just as it electrocuted Melanie, Liam and Scott.
Melanie yelled in pain, falling to her knees as the electricity flowed through her. Liam and Scott fell down right after her, startling Lydia. The Martin girl stumbled back in shock, running into Theo's arms.
Lydia let out a small gasp at Theo who just smirked at her. "Sorry, Lydia." Theo whispered before pushing Lydia back. The strawberry blonde stumbled, her foot falling into a hole on the ground that led to the next level of tunnels. "No!" Melanie screamed, trying to get any strength to get up and grab Lydia but luckily, Scott grabbed her hand.
Theo snarled angrily, stomping towards Scott before jamming his claws into Scott's back. Scott gasped in pain, making Theo chuckle, leaning towards his ear.
"Feel that, Scott? Kanima venom. Just let it happen. Let it go. Let everything go." Theo whispered. Melanie grew angry at Theo, she used all the strength in her body to push her self up a few inches, she stuck her hand out and let a knife appear in her hands before jamming it into the back of Theo's ankle.
Theo screamed in pain, stumbling slightly but kept himself up. He looked down at Melanie behind him and his face grew angry. "You, bitch." He muttered before throwing his good foot back, slamming his heel into Melanie's face, a sickening crack echoing through the tunnels.
Melanie groaned in pain, losing her strength and falling back towards the ground as her hand gripped her nose in pain. "No!" Scott screamed when his hand finally let go of Lydia's.
Theo chuckled, standing up straight. "You hear that? That's the sound of real power." Theo started walking down the hall, making her shaking her head, slowly getting up. "No. No. No." She muttered as she helped Liam up.
The two went to help Scott up before a hand had already pulled the boy up. The two sophomores looked up and watched as Deucalion helped Scott stand. Liam and Melanie looked at Deucalion in shock.
The older wolf looked up at the teens, noticing they haven't moved before he sighed. "Oh, right. We've teamed up."
Melanie looked at the man like he was crazy, turning to Scott who was in the middle of getting feeling back as he nodded.
Deucalion grew annoyed with the two younger teens, walking Scott down the hall. "Well, don't just stand there. Let's go."
Liam squinted at the back of the mans head, turning to Melanie. "Are we trusting him?" Melanie sighed, grabbing Liam's hand and pulling him after Deucalion and Scott. "I don't think it matters if we trust him or not. He's all we got right now." Liam groaned at Mel's answer, following anyway.
Screams from Theo echoed throughout the tunnels. They got louder and louder with every turn they took until they found Theo lying on the ground, out of breath.
Theo looked up at the sound of people standing over him and looked at Deucalion in shock. "You lied to me." Theo said in betrayal, trying to catch his breath. "You and Scott..." He whispered, making Scott smirk as he nodded. "That's right, Theo. The whole time."
Theo looked back and forth between the two before his face fell in realization. "It would've never worked." He whispered and Deucalion smirked, shrugging slightly.
"It could have worked. With Belasko's talons." Deucalion said before bending down in front of Theo. Before anyone had anytime to process what he was doing, Deucalion grabbed the edges of Theo's jaw, twisting and breaking his neck.
Melanie's eyes went wide as she took a small step back in shock. Theo groaned in pain, not even able to turn his head as he spoke.
"You broke my neck." Theo whispered out of breath and Deucalion nodded. "And good luck with that." Melanie went to snicker at the mans words but her face pinched in pain, still healing from Theo breaking her nose. She suddenly let out a low growl in anger as she pushed passed Scott and Deucalion to stand above Theo.
She sent him a glare so evil not even Scott or Liam had seen before, she eyes flickering green before she bent down to Theo's height, throwing a punch at his nose, a loud crack that resembled hers echoed through the tunnels.
Theo groaned in pain as Melanie smirked, standing back up as she shook her hand. "That's for breaking my nose, asshat."
Deucalion smiled at Melanie words, pointing in her direction. "I've never met this one. I like her." He said, making Melanie smile before Deucalion turned back to Scott. "There's an access grate that leads to the sublevel. I think we can get to Lydia there."
"What about Mason?" Liam asked and Deucalion turned to him, nodding. "We can still save your friend. Let's go."
Just as the four went to walk down the tunnel, a loud gunshot echoed. Melanie groaned, grasping her ears in pain as they rung. When the ringing went away, she slowly removed her hands from her ears and turned her head to see who got shot.
Her face fell as Deucalion groaned in pain, touching his chest slightly. "This just isn't my day." He groaned before falling to the ground.
Scott, Melanie and Liam looked behind them to see who shot Deucalion and watched as Gerard and Chris walked out from behind the shadows. "This is a surprising alliance, Scott. You and Deucalion? How long have you been planning this clever little double cross?" Gerard said with a big smile as he held his pistol higher.
"About as long as he and I have been planning this one." Chris said before he took a side step away from his father, standing beside Scott as he pointed his gun at Gerard.
Gerard's face dropped, looking at his son in betrayal as Chris handed Scott the cane. "What are you doing?" Chris squinted at the man, shaking his head. "I knew when I brought you back, it would never be about saving lives. Only about immortalizing your own."
Chris, not even leaving his eyes from Gerard, leaned his head towards Scott slightly. "Scott, go." When the man didn't feel the boy and the two sophomores leave, he cursed under his breath, turning to them eagerly. "Go, now!"
The three ran "Scott." Liam said out of breath, making the other two slow their steps. Melanie let out a tired huff, wiping her forehead with one hand as her other sat on her knee to keep her up. Liam frowned, looking back and forth between Scott and the cane in his hands before locking eyes with Scott.
"I'll do it." Liam whispered and Melanie's heart dropped, shaking her head slightly. "Liam..." She started before Liam cut her off. "It should be me. If you guys can get me close enough, I'll do it."
Scott tilted his head at his beta, shaking his head. "We're not killing your best friend."
"That belongs to me." A voice spoke up. The three turned their heads and saw Sebastian standing a few feet from them, his arm reached out, expecting Scott to hand him the cane.
After Scott didn't hand it over, his smile dropped. "It's a family heirloom. I'd like it back, please." Scott lifted the cane a little higher as he raised his brows. "It's all yours. Just give us Mason."
Sebastian gave the boy a fake frown, shaking his head as he stepped closer to the three. "Unfortunately, I would not know where to begin. And while I've benefited from his memories, I don't have much use for an alter ego."
Liam turned to Melanie, a heartbroken look on his face. Scott coughed at the mans grasp, shaking his head. "We can still save Mason."
"Who's going to save you two?" Liam asked and Sebastian scoffed. "What kind of werewolves are you?" Melanie felt a small growl escaped her lips, making a knife appear in her hands. While Sebastian wasn't looking, Melanie jammed the knife into the mans arm.
Sebastian yelled in pain, turning to Melanie angrily. He let out a low growl as he lifted his arm up, making Melanie raise off her feet. Melanie let out a small gasp, losing airway as she kicked her feet to break free.
Sebastian threw his arm back, throwing Melanie into the wall. "No!" Liam yelled, running from Sebastian to check on Melanie. Melanie fell tiredly against the wall, her ears ringing and her head pounding.
Liam crouched in front of Melanie, cupping her face to check for injuries. "Hey, hey. Are you okay?" Melanie took a deep breath, looking up at Liam and nodding.
Loud footsteps echoed through the tunnels before a voice spoke. "Mason." Lydia announced. Melanie turned her head, watching as Sebastian turned around to look at Lydia and Kira. The man smirked, walking towards them, making Melanie slowly try to get up with the help of Liam, not wanting Sebastian to hurt her sister or Lydia.
"I think you're gonna need to try it a little louder." Kira said. Lydia turned back to her weakly before turning back to Sebastian who was turning into the Beast.
Lydia took a deep breath, bending her knees slightly to get a better balance. "Mason!" Lydia screamed, her voice shaking and echoing throughout the tunnels. Liam grabbed onto Melanie's waist so she didn't fall over from the powerful scream.
Mason appeared from the dust, almost as if he was pushed out of it as he started to fall to the ground. Melanie and Liam went running to catch Mason but before they could, Corey appeared from one of the walls, catching him before he hit the ground.
The Beast roaring made everyone turn their heads, they watched as the Beast went to run away, going to turn a corner, and running face to face with Parrish. He instantly grabbed him by the neck with one hand and threw a punch to his stomach with the other, weakening the Beast. "Scott!" Parrish yelled, looking at the Argent cane on the ground.
Right by Melanie's feet.
Melanie's eyes went wide. She quickly grabbed the cane and threw it into the chest of the Beast, pinning the Beast to the wall behind him, some of the wall breaking and crumbling. The Beast screamed in pain before it slowly started to lose it shape and turn to dust.
Melanie looked at where the Beast once was with wide eyes, a shocked laugh leaving her lips before Scott spoke up. "Is everyone okay?"
Liam cupped Melanie's face in his hands, moving her to face him as he check her nose. "I'm okay." Melanie whispered with a small laugh, grabbing Liams hands off her face and holding them by her side instead.
"Not everyone." Kira announced as she walked towards the front of the group with her chin held high. "The Skinwalkers have a message for you, Theo." Kira said, before pulling her sword out from behind her back and raising it in the air. "Your sister wants to see you." She said before she slammed down her katana. A crack formed in the ground, starting at Kira and traveling all the way to Theo until a hole grew from around him.
Dust clouded the hole as a small face rose from it, a hand sticking out and grabbing Theo's ankle, pulling him in.
Melanie's eyes went wide, grabbing Liams hand as Theo started to scream, gripping onto the ground for dear life. "Scott, help me!"
His hands hands slowly started to slip as he got further and further into the ground.
"No! No! Scott! Help me!" Theo screamed as he finally lost his grip on the ground and fell into the hole. It almost instantly closed, leaving everyone in shock as they tried to catch their breaths.
...
"Are you sure you're okay?" Melanie asked, looking over Belle worriedly as they walked towards Mel's room. Belle smiled, nodding her head. "I've been through worse."
Melanie gave the girl a lopsided smile at her words, not liking them. She went to help her sit down on Melanie's bed before Belle shook her head. "I want the bean bag." Belle said, laughing slightly after noticing Mel's mood drop at her previous words.
Melanie laughed, helping the girl to the bean bag chair. Belle let out a childish cheer as she fell onto the bag, making the two of them fall into a fit of giggles. Melanie fell into the small spot beside her, resting her had on Belles shoulder. The Yukimura let out a small breath, looking up at all the glowing star stickers on her ceiling.
"School's almost over." Melanie said and Belle sighed, laughing slightly. "Thank God!" Melanie laughed with Belle before sighing again. "That leaves us with less stress while we're fighting the goddamn supernatural." Melanie let out sarcastically, making Belle snicker, nodding.
After a few seconds of silence, Belle shot up, remembering something Lydia had told her before the Beast situation grew out of hand. She winced at how fast she go up, making Melanie shot up after her.
"Is everything okay?" Melanie asked and Belle nodded. "Yeah. No, nothing's wrong. It's just... Lydia told me the other day that her mom is gonna get us and the gang to skip junior year." Melanie's jaw dropped, looking at Belle with wide eyes. "What?!"
Belle nodded, shrugging slightly. "I guess she wants all of us out of the town as soon as possible."
Melanie looked ahead of her, processing what Belle had just said before she fell back down onto the bean bag. "We're gonna be Seniors..." Belle fell back down beside her. "Hell yeah."
