Believable

After Theo explained everything about Belle's dad to Melanie and Liam, the couple sat in the front room, watching the security cameras as they tried to think of a way to tell Belle about her dad being a hunter.

Melanie was on Liam's right, her elbow on the desk as her cheek rested on her hand.

"I mean... are we sure we can't just go out and say it?" Liam asked, turning to Melanie.

Melanie gave the boys wide eyes, keeping her chin on her hand as she turned to Liam. "Are you crazy? No, we can't do that! We have to tell slowly break the new to her so she doesn't break anything."

The faint sound of handcuffs clinking made Melanie and Liam turn back to the footage. They watched as Nolan undid the handcuffs and reached into his pocket, pulling out a smoke bomb.

" You've gotta be kidding me." Melanie muttered under her breath. Mel and Liam shot out of the chairs and ran towards the cell room. As they ran over, the was thrown into the main room.

"Everyone, get down!" Parrish yelled. Melanie coughed through the smoke, still running right behind Liam.

When the couple got to the cell room, they saw Nolan standing in front of Jiang and Tierney's cell, holding a small vile filled with purple liquid. Wolfsbane. As Liam grabbed Nolan, pinning him against the cell, Melanie looked at Tierney and Jiang. Her eyes doubled in size as she looked at their bright blue eyes. She thought they were innocent.

Liam grabbed Nolan's arm and looked back at Melanie before realizing who she was looking at. Liam looked back at Jiang and Tierney before gulping.

He looked towards Melanie and gave her a sad smile. They both knew Scott had to know. Liam threw the wolfsbane to Melanie, the girl catching it easily as Liam's grip on Nolan tightening, practically dragging him into the main room.

Everyone's heads turned at the sound of Liam, Melanie, and Nolan. Melanie lifted up the small vile before tossing it to Scott. "Wolfsbane. He was trying to kill them." Scott looked down at the vile before stuffing it in his jacket.

"Scott, there's something else you need to see." Liam said. He pushed Nolan into Melanie's grasp and led Scott to the cell area.

Melanie had a tight grip on Nolan's forearm. Parrish walked up to Melanie, reaching out to take Nolan from her. Melanie shoved the boy into Parrish and the deputy led Nolan into another room, a second deputy following after to keep watch.

Melanie halted at Nolan until he was in the room and out of sight. She scoffed and leaned up against one of the pillars connected to the front desk and crossed her arms.

Suddenly, the window in front of her shattered, an arrow breaking it, heading straight for Melanie's head. Melanie screamed and ducked, the arrow lodging itself into the wood where Melanie's head once was.

She felt people run up to her as she tried to catch her breath. "Are you okay?" Liam asked, cupping Melanie's cheeks in his hands. His breathing was just as sporadic as Mels as she slowly nodded, muttering a tiny "yeah."

She looked up at the arrow and noticed it was puncturing something. Melanie took the arrow out of the wall and realized it was a piece of fabric on the arrow. She slowly took the fabric off and opened it.

It was a dark green jersey with the number 28 on it. Melanie let out a small gasp as Liam growled under his breath beside her. "This is Brett's number." Liam said, his voice about an octave lower than normal.

"They're trying to rattle us." Malia said and Theo, noticing Liam's eyes turned yellow, nodded to Liam. "It's working."

A loud scream coming from the room Nolan had just been in made everyone's jump. Noah and Parrish ran towards the room as the pack stayed back.

Melanie grabbed Liam's hand in worry. It was quiet for a couple seconds in the other room before a gunshot rang through the air.

...

Belle, Malia, and Lydia all looked out one window while Melanie, Liam, and Quinn looked out another as Noah, Scott, Theo had walked outside to the hunter with two bodybags stuffed with deputies.

"Anyone think this is gonna work?" Malia asked, looking down at Belle who was right beside her. Belle looked up at Malia with an annoyed look. Belle loved Malia to pieces, but this was her fifth time asking something like that. Malia sighed, shaking her head. "I'll stop asking."

Melanie couldn't hear them, but she'd like to think she could read faces pretty well. From the looks of it, the plan was going just as planned until Monroe asked something that made Scott and Theo turn to each other with big eyes.

Melanie watched as four of the men behind Monroe started to raise their guns before a big van pulled up. Mel's brows furrowed. She couldn't tell from the tinted window if who ever was in the vehicle was on her side or the hunters.

Until Rafael McCall walked out of the car.

...

After a couple minutes of Rafael talking to Monroe, the four boys walked back inside with the body bags. Rafael immediately pulled Scott into the Sheriff's office and after another couple of minutes, Scott called the pack in.

Scott had told the pack about his and his dads idea to leave Beacon Hills so no more people got hurt. Melanie thought that plan was stupid. Just because their pack leaves, doesn't mean everyone will be safe. Not all supernatural creatures are in their pack.

"Scott, are you sure about this?" Lydia asked after hearing the plan. Liam shook his head as he sat backwards in a chair beside the Sheriff's couch that Melanie, Belle, and Theo all sat on.

"I'm not. This deal sucks." Liam snarked. Rafael turned to Liam, giving him a glare. "But it's the only one on the table. In a situation like this, the best solution is always to de-escalate. It's why you called me, isn't it?" Agent McCall said, turning to the Sheriff at his last sentence.

Noah blinked at the man before shaking his head. "To be honest, I didn't think anyone was gonna show up."

"Okay." Scott said, making Rafael, Noah, and the pack all turn to him. "We'll go."

Melanie slumped at Scott's words. She didn't want to leave Beacon Hills. She didn't want to leave Mason and Gwen, she didn't want to leave the McCall home. Scott turned to her, hearing her heartbeat pick up. When they locked eyes, Scott squinted and scrunched his nose with a barely noticeable smile.

Melanie noticed the smile and calmed down. She knew Scott had a plan.

...

Melanie walked out of the station, holding hands with Liam as they made way towards Liam's car.

Melanie looked around at the faces in the crowd of hunters, she recognized three of them: Monroe, Gabe, and Adrian. Melanie squeezed Liam's hand tighter when she made eye contact with the man. Adrian Parker's eyes widened at the face of his daughters best friend in the crowd of "monsters". He looked right past Melanie when his eyes fell on Belle.

Belle kept her head down, walking beside Theo when she heard a voice. "Arabella..." The voice whisper under their breath, but Belle heard it with her enhanced hearing. She looked around, trying to see who spoke, and her eyes fell on her father. Belle felt her chest tighten. As she looked at the man. Both of them looked heartbroken and betrayed at the other.

Theo looked back and forth between the man and Belle. He wasn't close with Belle at all, but figuring it wouldn't hurt to try and get a second persons trust in the pack, Theo wrapped an arm around her shoulders, pulling her into him slightly as they continued to walk. Belle smiled at the gesture. She wasn't a big fan of Theo, but she appreciated it nonetheless.

...

Scott had filled the pack in on the true plan. Make everyone think they left, but they didn't.

And even though they weren't really leaving, Melanie, Scott and Belle really had to pack to make it believable to Rafael since they all lived at the McCall house. Liam helped Melanie "pack" which included filling one suitcase full of things and stuffing the rest of her stuff in her closet.

When they were done, Melanie and Liam made a grand exit in front of Rafael before making way to Liam's house.

When they got to Liam's house, his parents were already asleep. Melanie headed straight for Liam's dresser, grabbed some clothes and quickly changed into one of his shirts and boxers as pajamas. When she was done and Liam started to change, Mel fell onto his bed. Liam chuckled at the girl as she lifted her arms, motioning him to come over.

When Liam was in his pajamas, he took slow strides towards Melanie, a big smile on his face. Once he was standing at the foot of the bed, he crawled into Melanie's arms, the two of them now cuddling.

Liam watched her as she ran her thumb up and down his arm she was holding on to. He smiled, loving her touch. He felt butterflies at how concentrated she looked. All that was running through his head was how much he loves her.

Melanie, feeling eyes on her, turned to Liam and smiled. "What?" She asked quietly. Liam's smile just grew bigger as he leaned towards Melanie, pulling her into a kiss. The kiss was slow and sweet. They only pulled away because they were both smiling so much.

Their faces were still close as Liam scanned Melanie's face. She's so beautiful. "I just love you so much." Liam muttered and Melanie smiled. She moved a piece of hair out of Liam's face. She really liked how long it was getting. "I love you so much." She muttered back and even though they've said it to each other thousands of times, Liam felt a rush of butterflies.

The two of them laid in Liam's bed, giving each other random pecks every now and then until they fell asleep.

...

The next day, the pack headed to the animal clinic to reveal to Mason they were all still in town.

Melanie sat in the back room of the clinic with the pack. She was sitting on one of the tables against the wall that faced the door to the main room. Liam sat beside Melanie, their hands interlocked and Melanie's head resting on Liam's shoulder as they waited for Mason to arrive.

When the bell above the front door of the clinic chimed, Melanie's head shot up as the entire pack straightened up.

"You told us you guys were leaving." Melanie could hear Mason say. Melanie squeezed Liam's hand, part of her worried that Mason would be mad that they had lied to him.

"We had to." Corey said and it was quiet for moment before Mason spoke again.

"You lied."

Liam squeezed Melanie's hand back, silently telling her "it's okay" before he spoke up to get Masons attention. "We all did."

Melanie heard footsteps run from the main room into the back room where she and the rest of the pack was. Mason looked at everyone with wide eyes. When he saw Liam, Melanie, and Belle, he smiled.

Mason looked back and forth between his three friends and Corey before keeping his eyes on Corey. "So this was the plan all along?"

"Sorry, Mason. My dad had to believe we left Beacon Hills. Everyone has to believe it." Scott said and Mason nodded his head. A breath of relief left Mel's lips, making Liam chuckle. Mason walked up to the pack with Corey.

"Then what happens next? We fight back now, right?" Mason asked and Scott chuckled. "What did you think we were gonna do? Run?"
