Chapter Fourteen 🌶️
Melione swam through the water, pure excitement coursing through her body. Grym's eyes were pure hunger when he looked at her. Her body hummed whenever he was near. She would have never guessed at the amount of sexual appetite that was in this man. On the outside, he looked confident but not at all like the sexual deviant he was.
Melione swam to a dark corner of the tunnel. She worked to control her breathing and her beating heart. Knowing he was close and chasing after her sent excitement through her body. She heard something moving through the water slowly. Melione held her breath as the movement stopped. Her eyes had adjusted perfectly to the darkness in the tunnel, but she knew that Grym would need more light to see. Melione scanned the water around her but saw no ripples or movement.
A hand covered her mouth, muffling the scream from her lips. "Found you," Grym's husky voice sounded in her ear. Melione's heart beat wildly against her chest as she looked at Grym with wide eyes. His eyes held pure, dark hunger. Her body heated with anticipation as he stood looming over her. Grym leaned forward and ran his nose up and down her throat. "Fuck, Melione, you smell fucking delicious."
Melione groaned out as his hand cupped her sex underneath the water. He didn't waste any time in shoving two fingers into her sex. Melione ground her hips against his hand. She could feel her body heating up as his fingers thrust into her roughly. Melione wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer to her. She could feel his hard erection against her stomach.
Grym's hand left her mouth and wrapped around her waist. "Fuck," Grym groaned. "I can't wait. I need you right now."
"Grym," Melione moaned.
"Wrap your legs around me," Grym ordered.
Melione did as he told her and cried out as he filled her. Grym pushed her against the wall of the tunnel as he continued to thrust hard into her. Melione ran her nails up and down his back, unable to keep herself from screaming his name as her orgasm shot through her. It wasn't long until he followed her, finishing with a loud grunt.
Melione clung to him as they both worked hard to control their breathing. She moved her hands to his face, bringing him to look at her. "I think you should chase me more often," she said with a smile.
Grym chuckled darkly. "If you like that, I'll chase you forever."
Melione laughed as she brought him to her, kissing him hard. His hips started to move again, causing her to moan into his mouth. His mouth moved to her chin before kissing down her throat. Melione was filled with pleasure as she looked over Grym's shoulder. Her eyebrows furrowed at what she was looking at. She could see strange writing on the far wall across from her. She didn't want to stop, but there was a particular pull from the handwriting on the wall. "Grym," she groaned, trying to get his attention.
Grym hummed against her throat. His hips stopped inside of her. She knew that he could feel her anxiety. He picked his head up. "What's wrong?"
"Did your father write on the walls?" she asked him.
Grym shook his head. "No. Why?"
Melione held out her hand, letting an orb of light move to the tunnel's roof. "Behind you."
Grym unwrapped her legs from him and turned around. "What the fuck?" He gripped her hand and pulled her closer to the writing on the wall. "It looks like what we saw at that village."
Melione nodded as she leaned forward. She brought the orb of light closer to the writing to get a better look at it. "It looks like the same words as well." Her eyebrows furrowed as she reached her hand out. She touched one of the letters and brought her hand to her face, sniffing her finger. "It's blood."
"What?"
Melione held her hand out to Grym. "It's written in blood."
Grym shook his head. "That can't be. No one is allowed down here. My father had shut down the tunnels after it flooded. Every entranced it closed off."
"What was this tunnel before your father closed it?"
"A black market," Grym answered quickly. "My father and his men arrested the sellers and flooded the tunnels so they wouldn't be used again."
A low growling came from their right, causing both heads to snap in its direction. Grym's hand tightened around hers. Melione allowed him to move her body, so she stood behind him. "You're sure that no one is down here." A loud scraping sound echoed down the tunnel, getting louder as the sound moved closer to them.
"The only way into these tunnels is through my house," Grym growled lowly. "Come on," he pushed her back down the tunnel. "We need to get out of here."
"You don't want to investigate what's making that noise?"
Grym kept a firm grip on her hand as they swam back to the entrance. "When I have the proper weapons, yes. We'll come back and investigate once I know that both of us will be safe." They found their clothes near the stairs where they left them and quickly pulled them on.
Melione followed Grym through the house as he grabbed his swords. Turning back to the tunnels, they stopped when a hurried knock sounded at Grym's door. "What fucking now?" Grym growled as he stalked to the door.
Melione was close behind him. She knew she could have stayed where she stood but couldn't help but follow wherever he went. She stood behind him, keeping her eyes on the ground as Grym opened the door.
"What can I do for you, High Priestess?" Grym asked with a tinge of annoyance in his voice.
"You have a week to find the body," she answered him quickly.
"A week?" Melione's head snapped up but instantly felt weak as her eyes met the light. She clutched onto Grym as her knees threatened to buckle underneath her. She felt Grym's arm wrap around her waist, pushing her behind him to give her some darkness.
"A week isn't enough time, High Priestess," Grym complained.
The High Priestess sighed in annoyance. "I understand, Detective Sunblight, but the congregation doesn't like the idea of someone from the Eclipse Sanctum in their land. I understand their reasoning."
Grym's body tensed underneath Melione's hands. "She's their head detective, on the same investigation as I am. How can they give us a week just because of her?"
Melione knew that the High Priestess only shrugged her response. "You have a week. I advise you to get a move on." Melione heard the High Priestess' retreating footsteps and Grym slamming the door. She picked her head up and looked at him cautiously.
"We can find the body in a week, Grym," Melione told him slowly, trying to get him to calm down.
Grym shook his head. "They shouldn't think of you like that."
Melione smiled as she cupped his cheek. "They don't know me the way that you do. We need to get moving if we are to find that body."
Grym nodded as his jaw clenched. "Alright." He rubbed the back of his neck, moving it side to side as if to get some tension out of his muscles. "I-"
Melione cupped both cheeks with her hands and made him look at her. "I promise we will find the body and figure out what is underneath your house."
Grym shook his head. "We won't have enough time."
Melione shrugged her shoulders. "You could always sneak me around." She moved closer to his body. "We're already doing forbidden things; why not continue."
A small smile flirted across his lips as he shook his head. "Fine, Melione. Let's go."
