You sit leaning against the wall of your dark and dank jail cell. With only a pile of straw as bedding and a drain as a urinal. You ask to yourself how in the hell did all come to this after everything you've been through. Then you recall the events at the Guild Hall with your party and in front the entire Adventurer's Guild.

Sena: You are Sir Y/N L/N, yes? I'm Sena, the prosecutor. According to this warrant, you been accused of war crimes and blatant treaty violations between Kingdom of Belzerg and the Empire of Man.

Aqua: What?! There's no way Y/N could have done something like that!

Kazuma: Yeah, what are you even talking about?!

Mei: How can Y/N commit war crimes?!

Sena: He is an Imperial knight, so there for his actions reflect the Empire. Do you recall the cornatite you had teleported? It destroyed the mansion of a lord.

Y/N: (Oh no....)

Sena: Thankfully, no one was killed.

Y/N: (Well that's a positive.)

Sena: But one thing is certain, you are either a war criminal or in league with the Devil King.

Megumin: Wait Madam Prosecutor! If it weren't for Y/N's quick thinking, The Mobile Fortress Destroyer would have killed everyone in this city!

Y/N: Megumin....

Megumin: He's constantly puts himself in great danger for not only for our party! But everyone in this town! If he's guilty of anything it's being too reckless at times!

Darkness: Pardon me, but there must be some mistake. There is nothing treacherous about him. He is a highly skilled Ranger, a chosen champion of Sigmar, and a knight made by Karl Franz himself. He has displayed great valor and courage in the face of powerful foes.

Y/N: Darkness you shouldn't......

Darkness: I am a Crusader not only loyal to Eris and the Kingdom. But also to the leader of my adventuring party.

Sena: Regardless, the law is the law.

Keith: Y/N's no criminal! All he's guilty of is being an Adventurer!

Male Adventurer: This is abuse of state power!

Female Adventurer: If it weren't for him! This whole town would've fallen to the Skaven!

Male Adventurer: FREEDOM FOR ADVENTURERS!!

Adventurers: *chanting* FREEDOM!!

Sena:......The charge of sedition applies to those suspected of conspiring with him, as well.

With that said the whole hall falls dead silent.

Sena: Unless you wish to join him in prison, you should be careful with your words.

The Adventurers remain silent but your party still stands with you.

Kazuma: Oh screw you! Don't give up! Keep protesting!

Aqua: Yeah! ATTICA! ATTICA! ATTIC-!

Mei: Aqua, I don't think that applies here.

Darkness: Hold on the fault is mine. I gave the order! Yes, blame me! Take me to your dungeon and chain me to the wall! Subject me to your torture!

Sena: Huh, I heard you stood around outside being a meat shield.

Darkness gets aroused by Sena's comment.

Kazuma: (Didn't see that coming.)

Aqua: C'mon Y/N! Say something already!

Mei: Yeah! Your life is on the line here!

Y/N:.......Well shit, I guess there's no other choice then......

You start walking toward Sena and draw your revolver. Everyone lets out a gasp as get closer to the prosecutor with gun in hand. Sena takes a defensive stance as the Knights reach for their swords.

Everyone is thinking about what you're going to do as you raise your gun up and the Knights draw their weapons......But then you dangle your gun in front of Sena.

Y/N: I'll come quietly.....Just leave my friends out of this.

Suddenly the tension is gone as Sena takes your revolver and the Knights sheathe their swords.

Sena: V-Very well......Please surrender the rest your weapons and equipment.

Without question you surrender your rifle, sword, bayonet, ammo belt, bandoliers, and helmet. Then a knight puts you in handcuffs.

Sena:......Take him away.

Everyone in the hall watches helpless unable to save you from this cruel twist of fate as the Knights escort you out of the Guild Hall. Wiz was about to speak out from crowd. But you waved her off to protect her identity and she reluctantly did so.

After that you were taken to the prison outside of town where you now sit leaning against the cold stone walls and let out big sigh wondering what tomorrow will bring. But then.....

You look at over at the window and see Aqua and Kazuma stand on a pile of crates outside.

Y/N: What the hell are you guys doing here?!

Aqua: We came to save you, obviously!

Kazuma: Sorry man, I tired to stop her.

Aqua: I would never abandon the my lov-I mean my champion!

Y/N: Aqua we've been over this!

Aqua: The point is we're here now. Anyway, Megumin just fired off an Explosion outside of town. All the guards have gone to investigate. If all's going according to plan, Darkness is heading home with Megumin on her back.

Y/N: And what about Mei?

Aqua: Oh she said that we shouldn't break you out cause that it'll just make things worse. So she didn't come.

Kazuma: And I kept telling you that on the way here, idiot!

Aqua: Y/N you're facing capital crimes, so it can't get any worse for you. Your status in the Empire doesn't matter. Here you're just a lowly Adventurer and if some lord wants you dead. You're dead.

Kazuma: We should've gotten reincarnated somewhere less Medieval.

Y/N: So what was your plan on getting me out of here?

Aqua throws a lock pick through the window onto the ground and you pick it up.

Aqua: First you're going to use that wire and pick the lock on you cell. Then you use your Ranger skills and sneak right outta here.

Y/N:......

Aqua: We'll go back to the mansion, get the others, and leave town. Got all that? Good! We'll be out front waiting for you. Let's go Kazu- AHH!!

Aqua attempted to jump off the crates but trips and falls on her face.

Kazuma:......Okay Y/N, what do you really want us to do?

Y/N: Go home. Get Aqua, I don't care if you have drag her back by her heels. Get everyone home, wait for the trial, and do not do this again. You get me Kazuma?

Kazuma: I get ya, but you think you can actually win this trial?

Y/N: I have to try to convince them that is was an accident. And that I'm not trying to start a war. Now get outta here before the guards come back.

Kazuma: You got it, good luck Y/N.

Y/N: See you then.

Kazuma jumps off the crates, lands on his feet, grabs Aqua by her foot, and drags her off.

Kazuma: C'mon Aqua, we're going home.

Aqua: What?! But Y/N is still in there! Don't worry Y/N! I'll come back for you!

Kazuma: No you're not!

You sit back against the wall shaking your head at Aqua's protests. You close your eyes and try to get some sleep.

The next night went by without incident. It seems that Kazuma was able to convince everyone not to do another rescue attempt. It was now morning and you're in an interrogation room sitting at a table across from Sena with a male scribe nearby. But then Sena seems to nod to the scribe and he gets up and leaves. To apparently go to the bathroom leaving you alone with Sena and she places her hand on yours.

Sena: I.....I want this off the record.....I want you to know I take no pleasure in this. I know who you are and I know what you've accomplished. It's just that......

Y/N: You're just doing your job ma'am. Nothing more.

Sena: I'm glad you understand......

Y/N: Ready when you are.

The scribe returns from his "bathroom visit" and sits back down. Then Sena begins the interrogation by placing a bell with a white angel wing on one side and a black demon wing on the other.

Sena: Do you know what this thing does? It rings when it detects a lie. Now then, where are you from, and what did you do before becoming an Adventurer?

Y/N: I'm from America and I used to be a student.

The bell doesn't go off and the scribe takes note of it.

Sena: Strange, I never heard of America before today. I was told by many that you hail from the Empire.

Y/N: People made the assumption that I was an Imperial Handgunner when I first came here and I just didn't bother correcting them.

Sena: That aside, why did you become an Adventurer?

Y/N: To fight against the Devil King and his allies......And maybe make a name for myself.

The bell doesn't go off and the scribe makes another note.

Sena: I see......Moving on then......Do you hate Lord Aldarp?

Y/N: Honestly, I didn't even know who he was until a couple of days ago. I'm not really up to date on the nobility around here. And if you're asking about the Teleport, yes it was my call. But the coronatite ending up at Lord Aldarp's mansion was complete and total accident. If I could've have I would have sent it into the vacuum of space.

The bell again doesn't go off.

Sena: It seems what I've been told about you was correct.

Y/N: Hopefully good things.

Sena: Since you've been cooperative, would you like tea or something to eat?

Y/N: *stomach growls* Both would be great right now....

Sena: I see.....Give me a moment.

It took a few minutes but she came back with a cup of tea and a breakfast sandwich.

You instantly salivate at the sight and smell of the sandwich.

Sena: Well, I hope you like it.

You pick up half the sandwich and take a bite and it is absolutely delicious.

Y/N: By the Comet! This is probably the best I've sandwich ever tasted!

Sena: *blushes* Oh! Uh....Thank you!

Y/N: Man, your boyfriend must love you.

Sena:.......I do not have a boyfriend.

Y/N: Oh......I.....assumed that.....

Sena: I'm full aware my blunt personality is why I don't have a mate. Even though I'm in my prime....Apologies but can we continue?

Y/N: Of course.

Sena: Do you know what the townspeople call you?

Y/N: I don't pay attention to gossip.

Sena: "Courageous", "Charismatic," "Often wreck-less to the point of self-sacrifice," and some have said you have a dark and twisted sense of humor.

Y/N:......That last part's definitely true. Could I ask you a question Miss Sena?

Sena: Um....I suppose.

Y/N: Where was this kingdom's armies when the Skaven invaded?

Sena gasps at the question and but then regains herself.

Sena: Regrettably, our armies have been tied down at the front-line with the Devil King. And our reserves took longer than expected to mobilize. But thanks to your efforts. The people managed to resist the ratmen long enough for the Empire to liberate Axel.

Y/N: It wasn't easy, and we only succeeded because of my mentors' assistance.

Sena: One last question and we'll be done. Do you or do you not have any connection to the Devil King? Are you in contact with his generals or minions?

Y/N: (Okay, I have to word this carefully in order to protect Wiz.).......I'm in contact with a defector from the Devil King's army that wishes to remain anonymous.

The bell again doesn't ring.

Sena: What?! You are! But if the you give them up we might able to-!

Y/N: I will not, they told me me everything in confidence. And I won't betray that, no matter what you offer.

Sena: Strange, the bell hasn't gone off once.

Y/N: Well either it's broken or I'm telling the truth. Let me try something, I think the prosecutor is butt ass ugly!

The clerk leans into Sena's ear and whisper something to her that catches her off guard.

Sena: His legal representative?

Y/N: My what?

Guard: *outside room* Sir, you can't go in there!

???: *outside room* Stand aside or I will shoot you myself!

Y/N: (That voice.....It can't be!)

Again the suddenly the door burst open. And the one that walks in none other than your mentor Victor Saltzpyre. Sena looks at you to see if you know anything about this and you're just as shocked as she is.

Y/N: Victor?!

Sena: Who are you?! What are you doing here?!

Victor: Witch Hunter Captain Victor Saltzpyre madam prosecutor. I am here on Sir Y/N's behalf, have you concluded your interrogation?

Sena: Y-Yes, but why is an Imperial Witch Hunter here?

Victor: Unusual yes, but that boy is an Imperial Knight and Sigmar's champion it is only right that he have Imperial representation.

Sena: But how can you represent him?

Victor: I am also a servant of the court madam prosecutor. Though typically I would be where you're standing. Now, you have finished your interrogation, yes? I must speak with Sir Y/N alone.

Sena:.......Very well Mister Saltzspyre, I shall leave you to it.

Sena and the scribe about half out of then Victor made a request.

Victor: Prosecutor, I request copies of your arrest warrant, case file, list of subpoenaed witnesses, and your scribe's notes.

Sena:.....As you wish.

Sena gave Victor the documents he requested. He reviews them while you eat your sandwich.

Victor: Seems you have gotten yourself into quite predicament Y/N.

Y/N: It would seem so Victor.....Hey how did you hear about this? I didn't reach out to Olysea.

Victor: Apparently, Lohner received a communication from someone within your Adventurer's Guild. And informed us of the situation.

Y/N: (I wonder who that might be?) How did everyone react to the news?

Victor: Not well, the others suggested we that simply rescue you and bring you back to Helmgart. The witch suggested that she create a diversion with a forest fire. While the elf would infiltrate the complex and extract you. Kruber and Goreksson would.....neutralize any guards that attempted to stop us.

Y/N: I see.....That sounds like them. My friends attempted a similar plan.

Victor: Indeed, Lohner managed to quell their anger by telling them we want to stop a war not start one. They agreed....though reluctantly. I proposed the plan to defend you in court. However, if I am to defend you. I must have detailed accounts of events both prior to the Skaven invasion and before your arrest.

Y/N: Alright then.....

You spent a few hours retelling Victor events that happened since returning from Helmgart. Skipping the Skaven invasion because he was there for that. You finish up at the day you were arrested.

Y/N: So with no other option, I just let them arrest me and here we are.

Victor: I see.....This "Kyouya Mitsurugi" and his companions "Clemea" and "Fio." Do you know if they hold any grudges because of their defeat at your hand?

Y/N: I can't deny that there may be people who envy my accomplishments or straight don't like me. But he challenged me and lost.

Victor: It was a good decision you made surrendering without incident. For the situation has become quite precarious.

Y/N: What are you saying Victor?

Victor: If you, Sigmar's champion are executed by Belzerg.....The Empire will declare war.

Then Sena reenters the room with an escort.

Sena: I'm sorry Mister Saltzspyre, but it's time for him to return to his cell.

Victor: Very well, when will his trial be madam prosecutor?

Sena: Tomorrow.

Victor: I must investigate additional matters. I will see you on the morrow at your trail Y/N.

Y/N: One last thing Victor, how'd you get here so fast?

Victor: During our return trip we discovered a Bridge of Shadows near the border. So my journey here was expedited.

Guard: On your feet.

Y/N: Right.

The guard escorted you back to your cell. You noticed that there was an actual mattress in your cell. It was now the night before your trail. You unable to sleep due to the anxiety of what will become. If you don't prove your innocence at the trial there's gonna be war. You pace back and forth across your cell. The a guard walked up to your cell with a person the brown cloak and hood. He unlocks the door, lets the person in, and re-locks it.

Guard: You've got thirty minutes. Make it count.

The person in the cloak nods to the guard and he leaves you alone with this person.

Y/N: Who are you?

This person pulls their  hood to reveal themselves......

Y/N: Sophie!

Without hesitation the two of embrace each other tightly. The feeling of each other hair on your faces and your smells are like sweetest smelling flowers. After a few seconds you separate and Sophie has tears in eyes.

Sophie: Oh Y/N, I can't believe they're doing this to you! After everything you've done for this place! My heart sank when they took you away!

Y/N: I know, I know.....But I had to, if I ran it would make things worse.

Sophie: Is it true? If they find you guilty.....You're going to executed?

Y/N:.......Yes.

Sophie hugs you again and cries into your chest.

Sophie: *sobs* I don't........I don't want to lose you!

Y/N: I promise I'll prove my innocence tomorrow. Hey, how did you convince the guards to let you in here?

Sophie: I....bribed the guard with some money and they let visit you for thirty minutes.

Y/N: Why that long?

The she backs up and gives you bedroom eyes.

Sophie: *giggles* For this.~

She pulls a string on her cloak and it falls to the floor........

Y/N:............Oh.

Meanwhile outside the cell block two guards can hear the sounds of the........conjugal visit.

Guard:......Lucky bastard.

Today was the day of the trial, most the Adventurer's Guild and some of the towns folk have gathered in the gallery. You stand on a podium handcuffed looking at the judge and the gallows up top with a noose awaiting your neck. Sena and Aldarp on one side of the court. Victor and your party on other side. The magic bell in the middle of the court.

Kazuma: Oh, Saltzpyre you're here too.

Victor: Yes, it is good to see you again young Kazuma, Lady Darkness, Axis priest....Little witch with the strange name.

Aqua:.....Sigmar fanboy.

Darkness: Witch Hunter.

Megumin: Hey, you know my name! 

Victor: And you, I don't believe we have met......

Megumin: Don't ignore me!

Mei: Name's Mei Hatsume, I'm a Master Engineer from Nuln.

Victor: Ah, the Jewel of the Empire.......I trust you will allow me to lead the defense.

Kazuma: Works for us.

The judge bangs his gavel three times.

Judge: The Trial of Sir Y/N L/N will now come to order!

You put on a brave face but you are hyperventilating and sweating. Your friends walk up to encourage you.

Megumin: Keep together Y/N, I have this. I'll tear her arguments asunder until she's weeping at your feet.

Y/N: (Maybe not go that far.)

Darkness: Do not worry, Y/N. You have done nothing wrong and will most certainly go free.

Mei: We all know you're innocent Y/N.

Kazuma: Yeah man, we totally got your back......But......

Aqua: I'm an Arch priest, so they'll believe whatever I say, I think.

Kazuma: I'd be worried about her.

Someone loudly clears their throat and you turn to the source.

Aqua: *whisper* Why does that creepy old guy keep staring at us?

Darkness: That is the plaintiff, Lord Aldarp.

Aldarp shoots you a toothy grin at your party.

Darkness: Something you should know Y/N. Lord Aldarp is part of a small faction within the nobility that is against the treaty with the Empire. They believe that it is the first step to annexation.

Y/N: Great, he has a political stake in this too.

You sit over with your defense team.

Judge: Madam Prosecutor, you may begin your opening argument!

Sena: Endangering the life of a lord is a threat to the stability of the land and its people. The accused, Y/N L/N, is hereby charged with Planing a War of Aggression  against Belzerg blatantly violating the treaty with the Empire of Man.

Judge: The Defense may now begin it's opening argument!

Victor: We live in dark times, this Kingdom is assailed by the Devil King and the Empire by the forces of Chaos. The prosecution would have you believe that his was an unwarranted act of aggression. But I can assure you that during the course of my investigation. It was an unfortunate accident.

Sena: First witness!

The first witness is called and unfortunately it's Chris.

Y/N: Chris?

Chris: Sorry Y/N, I sort of got subpoenaed.

Sena begins her cross examination.

Sena: Now then, Chris, is it true that defendant discharged his firearm in a public place multiple times?

Y/N: (Oh crap, who would've thought that would come back to bite me.)

Chris: W-Well yeah, but see what happened I was showing his fri-

Female Wizard: I saw the whole thing! His underwear had gotten stolen and he chased after the one who took it just firing his gun in rage. *points to Kazuma* And it was that creep over there!

Kazuma: H-Hey, I'm not the one on trial here!

Y/N: You should be though.

Sena: The eyewitness confirms the action of the accused! No further questions!

Victor begins his cross examination.

Victor: Miss Chris, did you and defendant undergo a scout quest together some time ago?

Chris: Yes.

Victor: According to reports you and him encountered a Stormvermin patrol in the forest. Did you not?

Chris: That's correct.

Sena: Objection! Relevance?!

Victor: We are speaking upon the defendants past actions. Are we not Your Honor?

Judge:......Overruled! Continue Mister Saltzspyre.

Victor: Reports indicate that you and Sir Y/N engaged and annihilated the patrol. Why did you not simply report your findings to your Guild?

Chris:......Well, there were farms located about a mile away from where we were. Y/N learned from past experiences of what the Skaven would have done to them. So we ambushed them, they chased us through the forest, and Y/N killed them with a single gun volley. So he saved those farmers from a horrible fate.

People in the gallery mummer regarding the matter. Chris smiles at you and you nod to her.

Victor: No further questions.

Kazuma: *whisper* Saltzspyre really killing it, did you call him here?

Y/N: *whisper* No he just showed up outta the blue. Said that someone in the Guild contacted the Five.

Kazuma: *whisper* Well it wasn't any of us.

Sena calls her next witness and it's Kyouya. You're hoping he's not holding a grudge as Sena begins her cross examination.

Sena: Mister Mitsurugi, did the defendant steal then sell your magic sword?

Kyouya: Well yes, that's what he did but-

Sena: No further questions!

Victor goes up to cross examine him.

Victor: Mister Mitsurugi, did you challenge the defendant to single combat?

Kyouya: Y-Yes that's true.

Victor: The defendant agreed?

Kyouya: Yes, he even allowed me to make the first strike.

Victor: And what was the result?

Kyouya: I was......defeated.

Victor: Defeated you say, then I believe it is customary for the winner of a duel to be entitled to the spoils for their victory is it not?

Many gallery mummer in agreement.

Kyouya: I guess.....But he pulled a gun on me after he used a smoke bomb trick.

Victor: Were there any prerequisites for this duel? No use of of any particular weapons, abilities, or magical enhancements?

Kyouya:......No.

Victor: So therefore, the defendant was free to use whatever means to defeat you. And the spoils of his victory was your magic sword. Free to do as he wished with it. Use it as a weapon or trade it. Now if for example, you Mister Mitsurugi were the victor of this duel. I believe your spoils would have been the Axis Priest known as "Aqua."

Kyouya: Well, when you put it that way.....

Aqua: Hey! I am not anyone's spoils!

Kazuma: No, but you are spoiled.

Aqua: Shut up Kazuma!

Victor: No further questions.

The next witnesses are Kyouya party members Fio (left) and Clemea (right)

Sena: When the two of you asked the defendant to give back the magic sword, did her threatened to remove your undergarments in public?

Fio: Yeah, he totally threatened us! He said the thought guys and girls were equal an he didn't have a problem throwing down on girls. Whatever that means the coward!

Clemea: It's true! And then he had his pervy friend said he would use Steal to make things embarrassing and drafty for us!

Sena: No further questions!

Victor: Your Honor, the defense would like to call it's own witness to the stand.

Judge: I will allow it! Call your witness Mister Saltzspyre.

A man is brought to the stand, this man dark toned skin wears a turban and carrying a basket of apples.

Victor: Please state your occupation for the record.

Merchant: Oh, I'm just a simple merchant.

Victor: Were you present during the altercation between the defendant and Mister Mitsurugi's companions?

Merchant: Yes, I was.

Victor: Please describe in your own words what had occurred that day.

Merchant: Well, it was just after the duel was over and Kyouya was lying on the ground. They were arguing about the means in which Y/N used to win. Then *points to Kazuma* that guy over there started doing this *waving fingers* weird wave with his fingers it made my skin scrawl!

Everyone shoots a glare at Kazuma and he ducks his down in embarrassment.

Victor: Now, did the defendant order or enable this action?

Merchant: No actually, he had the same look of disgust on his face. In fact after the girls ran off with Kyouya.....Y/N smacked his friend on the head and scolded him for it.

???: Kazutrash.....

Kazuma: Who said that?!

Victor: Your Honor, there appears to be a glaring contradiction in the testimony of the prosecution witness. Not only did defendant not order the said action. He disciplined and reprimanded his subordinate for it.

Aldarp: Must we continue this farce?! Hang this Imperial already!

Megumin: Objection! The testimony we have heard is inadmissible as evidence! You accuse him of sedition, yet I have not seen any evidence to support that.

Aqua: Yeah where's you proof, huh?!

With another toothy smirk Aldarp nods to Sena and with a heavy heart presents her evidence.

Sena:..........During the interrogation, the defendant admitted to being in contact with someone from the Devil King's army. And is currently under his protection.

People in the gallery gasp in horror at the revelation. Kazuma sees Wiz in the crowd clutching her chest.

Kazuma: (Crap! I forgot, Wiz used to be one of his generals!)

Y/N: I specifically told you this person is a defector!

Aldarp: We've heard enough, the evidence is clear. He is allied with the Devil King. And my mansion was obliterated under his command as an act of war from the Empire.

You can see that everyone at your table becoming increasingly anxious. Kazuma is visibly worried, Aqua is crying, Megumin wants to blow the place up, Darkness trying to calm Aqua, Mei is giving a death glare to Alrdarp, and Victor wants to proclaim the consequences if you are executed.

Aldarp: EXECUTE THE IMPERIAL BASTARD!

Y/N: Hold on! I have been cooperative from the very beginning! I surrendered without incident! I was honest with you throughout your investigation! I haven't not told a single lie to have I Miss Sena!

Sena: W-Well.....

Aldarp: Nothing more than guilty conscious!

Y/N: Dammit! I'll say this loud and clear in front everyone! Keep your eye on the bell! *inhales*.....I DON'T WORK FOR THE DEVIL KING! AND I'M NOT A FUCKING WAR CRIMINAL!!!

Echo was so loud almost the entire town could hear. And the bell doesn't ring........

Sena: B-But....Your Honor.

Judge: In light of this new development, I have no choice but to rule the prosecution's case invalid.

Sena: (*sighs* Thank goodness.)

Judge: As for you, Y/N L/N, the charges are hereby revoked and you are free-

Aldarp: I think not, Your Honor.

Judge: Beg pardon, milord?

Aldarp: You don't wish to embarrass me, do you? Hmm?

The judge shakily raises his gavel.

Judge: The defendant is....guilty. I hereby sentence you...to death.

Victor rises from his chair slamming both his fist onto the table.

Victor: This is an outrage! A mockery of justice!

Aldarp: Coming form a Witch Hunter?! Your kind play Judge, Jury, and Executioner all the time!

Victor: *growls* I am compelled to inform the court! That if you execute Sigmar's Champion! The treaty shall be null and voided! AND THE EMPIRE WILL DECLARE WAR!!

People in the gallery let out another gasp of horror.

Male Adventurer: War....with the Empire.....

Luna: We.....We couldn't possibly win......

Kazuma: Y/N! Do something!

Y/N:.........

Aldarp: SO BE IT! WE NO LONGER BEND OUR KNEES TO THE EMPIRE!!

You close your eyes realizing there is nothing you can do to stop this. Judge less then an inch away from striking his gavel. Suddenly Darkness stand from her chair and stands in front of the Judge.

Darkness: Your Honor, before you pass judgement, hear me out.

Y/N: Darkness.....

Darkness reveals to the judge her family's crest. And you hang your head in shame.

Judge: Why that's.....The Dustiness family crest!

Luna: Wait, she's a Dustiness?

Wiz: It seems she is, her family is the king's greatest ally and the leader of the pro-treaty faction.

Mohawk: I always knew there was something special about that woman. Didn't expect this.

Y/N: Darkness, please don't do this.

Darkness: There was no other choice. I cannot let them execute you.

Aldarp is annoyed by Darkness's intervention.

Suddenly feel an urge to grab that noose strangle Aldarp with it.

Darkness: Not at all, just a stay of trail. In return, I will be in your debt and will do anything you ask.

That urge to strangle Aldarp is now growing stronger.

Male Adventurer: Wow, what a woman.

The crowd chants your name and the other members party are excited. But you're not feeling the enthusiasm.

Judge: *slams gavel* Order! Order in the court! Order I say! When I call for order, I will have it!

The judge throws his gavel into the crowd and hits Keith right in the head.

Party: KO-NO-SU-BA!

After order is restored the judge renders his final decision.

Judge: Ahem. Since you are a daughter of the Dustiness family, I hereby grant your request. *slams gavel* Y/N L/N shall be given a stay of trail!

While you breathe a sigh of relief you still feel ashamed. But then Aqua runs up to you, gives you tight hug, and pecks you on the cheek twice.

Aqua: Did you hear that, Y/N? I don't know what happened or why, but you're not getting executed, so yay! * performs party trick* Here's a Nature's Beauty to celebrate!

Megumin: *poses* It seems my keen intelligence and wit convinced them.

Kazuma: Yeah, we did next to nothing. Saltzspyre did way more than us.

Then Mei gives a hug.

Mei: Aren't you happy Y/N?! You're free!

Y/N: Yeah......I guess.....

You given a stay of trail and set free, however you are still a suspect to be put under surveillance. And you owe a massive debt to Aldarp. You and your party are outside your mansion say your farewells to Victor starting with a hand shake.

Y/N: I owe you again Victor.

Victor: Think nothing of it, an unnecessary war has been averted.

Y/N: Yeah.....

Victor:  Y/N, this defector you are protecting......Are you committed to it?

Y/N: I gave them my word. What kind of knight would I be if I went back my word. I'm sure the others would understand as well.

You watch as Victor takes his leave then...Now it's Darkness's turn.

Y/N: Darkness.....I......I can't thank you enough.

Darkness: You are not cleared yet. But I will convince Aldarp that you should be.

Kazuma: Yeah, about him. He was eyeballin' you like a hungry old dog. He won't make you do something freaky, will he?

Darkness: *gasps* P-Perhaps.....*panting*

Darkness notices that you have a mix of sadness and anger on your face with your fist shaking. She puts he hand on your shoulder getting your attention. Then she gives a hug which you immediately return and she puts lips to your ear.

Darkness: *whisper* Please do not hate yourself for this Y/N.

Darkness the does something very bold......She kisses you on the cheek. Everyone but Mei's jaw drops. She separates from you place your hand on the cheek.

Darkness: Farewell, for now.

As you watch Darkness you try to lighten the mood with a joke.

Y/N: Bye Lalatina.~

Darkness: DO NOT CALL ME THAT!

You chuckle a little as Darkness storms off. But then go back to being depressed. Then Mei holds your hand and shoulder.

Mei: You gonna be okay Y/N?

Y/N:......I'll be fine.

Aqua: *shivers* Can we get out of the cold already?

Y/N: Yeah, let's go.

As you and your party make your way back to the mansion. You start to hear something, footsteps lots of them. Sounds like marching, then you turn around, charge your rifle, summon a rifle squad, and stand in front of the porch.

Y/N: Hold on guys.

Megumin: What's wrong Y/N?

Y/N: Tax man's comin'.

Kazuma: Tax man?

Then a platoon of knights march past the gate to greeted by a line of rifles pointed at them. And a stand off begins.

Knight: Out of our way!

Y/N: What does Aldarp want now?

Knight: The court has ordered us to seize all of your assets to pay down your debt!

Then Mei pulls out her pistol and joins you.

Mei: You touch any my babies and I'll blow your heads off!

Knight: We are prepared to use force if necessary!

Kazuma: Y/N, they're gonna take my succubus coupons!

Y/N: Yeah, we need talk about that later.

Megumin: I'll obliterate them all with an Explosion.

Aqua: *voice breaking* Y/N there gonna take all my booze! Shoot these guys!

Y/N: Hold on! Let's see the order.

The knight hands your the order and you and party reads it.

Aqua: "The court hereby orders Y/N L/N's to pay an immediate down payment of his debt either by the seizure of assets. Or a lump.....sum.....of....."

Kazuma: Wow, that's a lot of zeroes.

Mei: What do we do Y/N?

Y/N:......Everybody wait here, I'll be right back. You with me.

Knight: You have five minutes!

You take a rifleman and you both head into the house a minute later. The both of you came out with a large chest and put it one the ground and open up in front of the knights.

Y/N: Satisfied?

Knight:........The payment has been accepted! We shall take our leave now!

The knights about face and march away with the chest of gold. You all breathe a sigh of relief and you make the squad vanish and you make your way to the house.

Kazuma: Damn that was tense!

Megumin: Wow Y/N can't believe you had all that saved up.......Y/N?

Y/N: Everyone's on their own for dinner tonight.....I need to be alone for a while.

Aqua: Oh Y/N......

Everyone watches you enter the house obviously depressed about the whole situation.

Later that night, you're sitting on your bed mopping thinking about everything that's happened. Then you hear an knock on your door.

Aqua: Y/N.......I'm coming in.

Aqua lets herself in wearing her PJs and sits down next you.

Aqua: How are you feeling? Talk to me.

Y/N:.........Defeated.

Aqua: Defeated? But you didn't get executed, Why would you feel defeated?

Y/N: You could have just resurrected me.

Aqua: Well.....yeah.....but I don't just want to see you die.

Y/N: I'm broke, I'm in debt, and our friend has subject herself to god knows what to save me.....

Aqua: Hey come on, no more of that talk. Let's have a drink, it'll make you feel better.

Y/N:.....*weak smile* Sometimes I just can't say no to you Aqua.

The two of you share a bottle of liquor together and later you're resting your head on her shoulder while she stokes your head.

Y/N: I did everything right didn't I?

Aqua: Yeah, of course you did.

Y/N: Then why did this happen?

Aqua: But none of this your fal-

Y/N: *voice breaking* But it is! If hadn't sent that goddamn coronatite away! None of this would have happened! And Darkness wouldn't have had to.....You picked me to your leader! I'm supposed to protect you all.....AND I FAILED!.......I should've just been executed......

Hearing that Aqua stands in front of you winds her hand back and slaps you across the face. Leaving a visible red mark with tears in her eyes and tears streaming down yours.

Y/N: A....qua?

Then she straddles you, throws are arms around neck, and connects her lips with yours. Your eyes widen at first. But then you return the kiss and wrap your arms around Aqua's waist. She separates her lips from yours cupping your face.

Aqua: Don't ever say that! You didn't fail! We need you! And you need us! Stop trying to bear the weight of the world on your shoulders! Let us carry it with you!

Y/N: Aqua.....

Aqua:......Will you let stay here tonight?......And heal your heart.

You just give a nod as Aqua takes her top off and discards it. Then you kiss and hold each other tightly. You lean back on bed and you let Aqua take care of you. You didn't care if this was right or wrong. You just wanted to feel something.....good.

The next morning you got dressed and fully equipped. You sit on the side of your bed watching Aqua sleep peacefully you stroke her hair for a bit and she wakes up.

Aqua: Hey.....

Y/N: Hey......

Aqua: How are feeling?

Y/N: Better.

Aqua: Where are you going?

Y/N: To the Guild, I need to start paying off my debt......I'll see you guys later.

You stand up and reach for the door knob.

Aqua: Y/N.....

Y/N:......Thank you......Aqua.

You open the door, leave the room, and close the door. Aqua gets out of bed with bed sheets covering her body and walks over to your window. She watches you head out into the cold snowy world clutching her chest.

Aqua: Y/N......Please don't bear this burden by yourself.
