Well, it's a been a whole minute since my last update. I was honestly thinking of scrapping this book but ya'll seem to surprisingly like it. I forgot how much I like writing so I'll definitely keep it up with this book. I gotta few ideas on how I'll make this turn out.

A yelp of shock echoes through the billionaire's lab which was followed by a string of curse words.
"Ow, ow!" He blowed lightly on his hand. "Okay, that's enough out of you." Tony let go of his throbbing hand to point at Dum-U with a stern look. The machine made a trilling sound before going to the other side of the room.
"Laughing at my pain. I can't believe you." Stark mumbled loudly to himself before looking at his hand again. This was just a friendly reminder that he shouldn't be handling a blowtorch without proper protection.
He may have also burned himself due to the fact that he was losing his vision though that wasn't something he wanted to admit.
He muttered incoherent words to himself along with a mean glare at the nasty burn on the back of his left hand.
He decidedly sat at his desk, going over an upgrade he had in mind for Peter. If he swapped a part in the web blasters the sufficiency of the webs along with their distances would increase pretty drastically. He wasn't sure why he hadn't thought of it before.
Bucky walked into the lab with his now signature walk and clothing. Bucky's now signature cuddle buddy Julien was with as well, at his heels bounding towards Tony. The billionaire realized that Bucky walked like a shy puppy, with timid slow steps and his now predictable hoodie and sweatpants.
"Hey there, Mr. Robot."
Bucky stood behind Tony's chair as he looked at the new web shooter part with a confused and narrowed gaze. Tony wasn't paying attention to his work now and smiling at his Mr. Robot reference. That was another thing about Bucky, he didn't understand Tony's pop culture references though he never found them offensive or annoying.
"What is that?" Bucky pointed at the hologram. Tony could practically hear the curiosity radiating from his voice though the ex-assassin's shy form didn't give it away.
Tony and Bucky had now spent atleast an hour together every day. It had started with building him a new arm though now Bucky comes down just to visit. The arm's nearly done though Tony just has to perfect the nerve connections and sensibilities.
"This is a new web shooter for Peter."
Tony accidentally let that slip about a week ago. He beats himself up for it though he's quite sure Bucky wouldn't tell anyone Spiderman's identity.
Bucky gave a small hum as his eyes danced across the hologram, looking over the part with furrowed eyebrows. Tony pushed his swivel chair to the right a bit, allowing Bucky to pull up a chair. Julien swiftly lied down at Tony's feet before Bucky sat down in a twinning chair next to Tony.
They were together in the familiar territory of the lab. Bucky watching Tony work as Julien curled up at Tony's feet. It was fairly quiet besides the whirres and trills of Stark's creations.
"Hey, Tony?" Bucky timidly asked after about 15 minutes of the comforting silence.
"Hey, James." Tony lightheartedly joked while he kept his eyes on the hologram.
That was another thing the two shared. Tony had taken a liking to calling him James rather than Bucky. "A total badass and ex-assassin shouldn't be called Bucky." Is what the engineer had said. Tony didn't beat around the bush when addressing his assassin past and James liked that.
"Steve. Um, has been trying to talk to me. About, uh- you." Tony noticed that Bucky had taken up speaking in very shy and reluctant pauses where he says words like "um" and "uh." He found it sweet though he's sure Bucky disliked it when he caught himself doing it.
Tony chose only to hum in reply. Steve wasn't worth much of his time.
"Tony, I think he wants t-to talk to you. Or me about you, I don't know!" Another things Tony picked up about James was that he stuttered when he was overwhelmed, nervous, or flustered. The billionaire wasn't sure if it started before Hydra or after though he didn't want to ask seeing as it may make Bucky feel insecure. Again, it was something Tony found endearing.
"He's been free to come down talk to me for almost two months, James." Tony reached out his hand to fiddle with the web shooter's hologram. He was finished though he wanted something to look at other than James' very evil puppy eyes.
"You keep the lab on lockdown whenever someone tries to come down."
"I let you in here, didn't I?"
"Look," Bucky grabbed the arm of Tony's chair and swiveled it to where the billionaire was facing him. He kept his hand on the arm rest as he spoke.
"I'm not saying you should talk to him. He just won't leave me the hell alone! I walk into the common room, 'Bucky, where were you? Who were you with?' I leave the breakfast table and he says, 'Where are you going? Let's go training.' Can you just tell him to back off a little bit? He won't listen to me."
James had turned on the puppy dog eyes and even though Tony's vision was hazy, they still had full effect on him.
"I don't know how I can make that work. You're an assassin, can't you just sneak around the compound?"
Bucky gave a slight glare before he heaved a sigh.
"Okay, bad joke but it was actually sort of a real question." Tony raised his eyebrows.
"Wh- okay," Bucky faltered before held his hand out, by the looks of it he was going to go on a rant.
"Why don't we just walk up there for dinner and when he bombards us you can just turn on your iconic Tony Stark sass?" Everyone seemed to dislike his sass besides the rare few who found it funny. Steve was not one of those rare few.
About 20 minutes after that conversation Bucky shuffled to the dining area where most of the Avengers ate. He wasn't one to be there for lunch or dinner but he was always there for breakfast.
He took off his hoodie as it was fairly warm upstairs compared to Tony's lab. Wearing a white tank top underneath, he grumbled to himself as he looked at his shoulder. There was a sleeve that Tony had constructed to not expose the metal and help with the pain though Bucky still hated how people would stare at it. He considered changing though people including Steve had already seen him enter the room so he reluctantly tossed the hoodie onto the back of a dining chair and sat in it.
James settled for not looking across the table at Steve and turning to Sam who was sitting to his left. The man was eating a medium cooked steak like he hadn't eaten in days. Sam scooped up a generous amount of potatoes before stuffing it in his mouth without even swallowing the steak yet. He felt eyes on him before he turned to look at Bucky's amused expression, his lips slightly upturned into a small smirk.
"Oh, shit. You're smiling?" Sam asked with joking shock. He wiped his mouth with a napkin before gulping down his food. "Want some?" He pointed to the platters in front of him that held steak and mashed potatoes among a variety.
"Is there any that are medium rare?" Bucky asked as he dished up some mashed potatoes. His voice was oddly quiet since he came back to his sort of normal self. Didn't entirely fit him since he looked like he could kill 6 people with just a blanket.
"Wh- you're nasty, man! I can't be friends with someone who eats their steak like that. Get away from my potatoes." Sam jabbed his fork at James' hand with a glare.
"Hey-" Steve tried to interject before Tony came waltzing into the room with Julien leading him at his side.
"Wooh, thank God you guys didn't start the family prayer without me." He sassily spoke up before swiftly sitting at the empty seat to Bucky's right.
"Who's saying it? Me?" He grabbed Bucky's hand and set it on the table and reached his hand out to Wanda's, bowing his head down in mock prayer before quickly lifting it back up.
"No? Okay." Tony muttered before picking up a spoon and reaching for the mashed potatoes. The quiet small talk began but Steve, Natasha, Clint, and Peter whom everyone assumed to be Tony's son and having no inhuman capabilities at all just ate silently or pretending to eat and was actually watching Tony.
"I'd go for the scalloped." Bucky nodded away from the mashed potatoes before Tony could dig in.
"Why?" Tony asked, his spoon hovering over the bowl of potatoes. He got his answer soon enough once Sam looked up and narrowed his eyes at the spoon. He stood up, snatching the bowl as Tony yelped loudly and placing it to his left.
"What do you think your doing, Wilson?"
"I ain't letting medium rare guys and there nasty ass food go near these perfect mashed potatoes." Sam declared with his fork raised.
"Aren't you overreacting much?" Tony asked.
"Says Tony Stark." Bucky spoke up just below normal volume at the same time that Sam said "No."
Tony opened his mouth but when no words came out he closed it. "True," He pointed at James "now hand me the potatoes Wilson or there'll be hell to pay."
"Psh, like what Stark? Blast me through the wall and I'll still be holding onto these potatoes." Sam stabbed at the air with his fork towards Tony.
"He'll have FRIDAY make your showers freezing and whenever you try to watch your stupid cop movies she'll play Keeping Up With The Kardashians instead." Bucky said, his face was dead serious and unlike the smirking expression of Tony's.
Sam reluctantly placed the bowl of mashed potatoes back into the middle of the dining table. He pointed at Bucky's face while he looked at Tony. "That's terrifying." Tony only nodded in agreement before getting some mashed potatoes.
"I think that threat had something more to it. I might need your guard dog at night." Sam pointed to Julien who was sitting under the table, resting his head on Tony's lap.
"These mashed potatoes are cold now." Tony grumbled before James quietly snatched up the billionaire's plate and walked towards the kitchen to heat it up for him.
"Wow, thanks manchurian candidate." Tony called after Bucky.
Steve tensed as he stabbed his fork into his food. There was a sharp clank that followed. His plate nearly breaking from the force.
Tony flinched.
