The more time Caleb was in the hospital it was kind of good for me and Jackson. We were having some of they best sex we'd ever had. And I think people at work could tell. Especially since we both seemed to happy. I then saw Callie. "You seem so much happier." Callie said to me and I looked at her.

"That will end soon. Caleb get's discharged today." I said to her and she looked at me. She knew exactly what I was going to say.

"And then the sex with your fiancé becomes less. I feel for you I really do." She said to me and I was glad to hear that.

"I know, I'm going to have to sneak around again. Like a teenager again." I said to her. She had to go to a meeting and I went to check papers at the nurses station.

"And this. This my amazing fiancée Dr. Y/l Y/l/n. She's on her way to become a name in ortho. She also studied at Oxford." Jackson said and I wrapped my arm around him.

"Hi I'm Mara Keaton. It's nice to know there's another Brit around here." She said to me and that's when my pager went off.

"Oh, sorry I'm going to have to cut this short I'm needed in the OR. Also are you still okay to get Caleb's welcome home cake after shift? I'd do it but I've got all the paperwork." I said to him and he kissed me.

"I've got it covered don't worry. Now go to your surgery and kick ass." He said to me and I smiled. I then went off to scrub into the OR. We had a motorcycle cop on the table who had been in an accident. It was Callie, Shepherd and I. A power team.

"Cords clear. Spine is stabilized." Derek said to us and I was glad that this would work.

"What do you think?" Callie asked him.

"Well, I think his motorcycle days are over. Hopefully, he'll be able to walk again." Derek said that was before the door burst open.

"Dr. Shepherd, we need you in OR four. It's Tommy. He's got a grade-3 bleed. He needs a ventric placed." Alex said but he was talking to quickly for anyone.

"Alex, calm down for a second." I said to him in a reassuring tone.

"Karev, slow down. Who is Tommy?" Derek asked, I take it he hadn't met the baby or Morgan yet.

"Morgan's baby. The intern Morgan." Callie said to him and he was nearly done here thankfully.

"All right. Well, just give me a second to finish..." Derek said but Alex cut him off before he could finish his sentence.

"Can you come now? Please." Alex said and there was a desperation in his voice. This was urgent.

"Go. We'll finish." Callie said and I looked at him.

"We've got this don't worry." I said to him with a smile. We did, Callie and I could do this together.

"Ok." He said and that was it. Once lunch time came around I went to my fridge to get my lunch. Kotlet mielony. A Polish dish that I decided to make. It was a house favourite but I only made some for myself today. But I guess I could spare some. I then went up to Caleb's room.

"So, your last day. And I thought I'd give you a tiny bit of this." I said to him and he looked at what he had.

"Can't I have all of it?" I asked him and he peeked into the container.

"No, this is my lunch. I'll make you some tonight but for now. You'll only get a piece. Take it or leave it." I said to him and I could see him thinking about it for a second.

"I'll leave it if I know that I will be getting more at home." He said to me and I smiled at him. I always knew that he'd take the smarted choices.

"Wise choice kid. I always knew you smart." I said to him. I stayed talking with him for a bit more. That was until it got closer to shift. I saw Derek walk in and talk with him. The two of them were laughing making me smile.

"Dr. Y/l/n, the paperwork's here for you to sign." The nurse said to me and I nodded at her.

"Thank you, it feels good that I can finally take him home." I said to her and she smiled at me. She'd been watching me here everyday talking to him. I then started to sign all the documents that were needed.

"And just like that, he's all yours now take him home." She said to me and I smiled at her. Derek had left the room and Caleb went into his bathroom with a bag. He was changing in there. I quickly went to the locker room to change before heading back up there.

"Ready to go kid?" I asked him and he looked at me and nodded.

"More than ready." He said to me and we started heading home. Once we got in I saw that the cake was on the counter the counter all lit up.

"Welcome home." Jackson said to him with a smile. It was chocolate cake which was Caleb's favourite. So we all knew he'd like it.

"You did this for me?" He asked Jackson and I. I then put my hand on Caleb's shoulder.

"Of course we did." I said to him. The whole night it felt like home again. It felt nice going back to three again.
