139. Dont Decieve Me (Please Dont Go)

It was another day and another working day, I was just hoping that they'd be a good case in ortho that I could scrub in on but that could be an issue. That's because last night Callie had called me saying she was pregnant. I was happy for her, she'd always wanted a family and not she was getting whether that meant it was with Arizona or not. Knowing Callie she would be an amazing mother and I knew doe a fact that I would be the godmother for it because let's face it me and Callie are the only people that made sense to be the god parents of each other's kids.

It wasn't long until I had a case handed to me. "You have hip replacement, do you think you'll be ok to talk with patient or do you want to wait for Torres?" Tyler said to me and I looked at him before tilting my head to the side, did he really ask me that question. Of course I could do this by myself I wasn't an intern anymore especially since I had board exams coming up I needed to know as much as possible whatever that meant for me.

"I'll be fine." I said to him evoke taking the folder and walking over to the patient room. "Good morning, mom Dr. Y/l/n and I'll be the one performing your surgery today." I said to the elderly lady, she seemed nervous about the whole thing but I would be the one to talk to her about everything and just make sure that she was ok. Even if it was no questions just as long as I could help in whatever way it was everything would be ok and of course I'd be giving the best patient care.

"Now, dear. Could you tell about the surgery." She said to me and I started talking about the whole thing to her and I just knew that this whole thing would be scary to someone of her age so I had to make sure it sounded as simple as possible. "Are you sure that this whole would be safe for someone of my age?" She asked me and I nodded at her.

"It is, and I will be with you the whole time to ensure that this whole procedure goes well and that nothing happens to you." I said to her with a smile. I could tell that she was feeling a little bit better than what she did beforehand which made me feel better.

"And is it still going to be at 3pm?" She asked me and I looked at her before looking around, that was hard to tell and I had no idea where Callie was and hopefully she'd be turning up soon because I couldn't stall for much longer and I had more patients to go and check on.

"For the current time being it is, but if anything changes I will inform you." I said to her with a smile before leaving the room. I then went to check on the other patients and it turned out that Callie wouldn't be here which means the surgery would be pushed back. But everything would be okay, we could change it to tomorrow and after that, she'd be a new woman with a new hip. As for these other patients.

There was no idea in telling how they were currently holding up, especially since a few of them had complicated surgeries that could put them out of work for a while but it was better to make sure that they were all ready and recovery with no complications at all for them to deal with. And if they did I could help them as much as possible to make sure that they'd be all ok. Did it suck that I had no Callie today? Just a little bit but at least I could be a bit more independent in everything that I was doing. Besides she had baby business to deal with and that was more important than anything else. Because flesh and blood comes first especially when it's one that's not even born yet.
