Today was going to feel weird, it was Derek's first day as Chief. I was going to miss Webber being Chief. I know what went down and I hated Derek for what he did. We had a meeting today.

"Either one of you know what this big meeting's all about?" Jackson asked Alex, Lexie and I. They thought we knew what was happening.

"I heard there was a coup." Reed said to us.

"Webber's out. Shepherd's in. Is that true?" Charles asked us, we knew as much as they did.

"We know what you know." Lexie said to them trying make them quieten up.

"Bull. Right? Your sister's married to the guy. You expect me to believe you don't know what's going on?" Jackson asked. We currently weren't speaking, we had an argument the other day and neither one of us wanted to admit we were wrong.

"Don't you have your own loser friends to talk to?" Alex asked him.

"Besides just because Shepherd's her brother-in-law doesn't mean she knows everything." I said to them.

"I also heard Shepherd plans to clean house. Maybe he'll start with you." Charles said to Alex, hopefully it would be Charles instead.

"Dude, I'm safe. The guy is my roommate. You're the ones who should watch you backs." Alex said to them, they really should.

"Why? What do you know?" Reed asked him, I think it was obvious.

"Simple math...Shepherd hates the merger, you're from Mercy West, you're toast." Alex said, that was the truth, they might as well pack their belongings and go.

"Derek's not gonna fire people just because they're from Mercy West. He's not like that. He's loyal and fair." Lexie said to us, well if that was true then what about what he did to Webber.

"Yeah, tell that to Webber." Jackson said to her.

"He threw Webber out just to get what he wanted." I said to them all. When we get to the staircase we waited for Derek to show. I was already hating this. I walked over to Callie and we spoke until Derek was ready to speak.

"What the hell is he wearing?" Callie asked with a laugh.

"He looks good. Chiefly." Owen said to us.

'He looks like an undertaker." Cristina said making me laugh.

"I promised him we'd clap." Arizona said to us.

"I can't bring myself to do that sorry." I said to Arizona she gave me a look.

"Oh. Now?" Cristina asked her with a smile.

"Ahem. I want to thank you all for being here. I know you're busy, so I'll try to make this quick. As you may have heard, I have been appointed the new interim Chief of surgery. It's my personal goal to make this transition as smooth as possible. I know we've had a rocky few months." Derek said to us.

"Here it comes." Alex and I said at the same time.

"Mistakes have been made." Derek continued.

"He's talking about the merger." Alex said to them.

"The only mistake that has been made." I said to them.

"Shh." Lexie said to Alex and I.

"I intend to right those wrongs, and, uh..." Derek said before pausing.

"Told you." Alex said to them.

"Goodbye." I said to them.

"Bring the hospital back to its former glory." Derek said to us.

"We are screwed." Jackson said to us.

"Yes, you are, sucker." Alex said making me smile.

"Check it out. Chief Webber." Reed said, I looked around and then I saw him, he looked rough.

"And, um..." Derek started before stopping and looking at Webber. "What I meant...uh, by that us...what I'm trying to say is, I want to thank you for your support in advance. Uh, that's all. Ok, let's get back to work." Derek said to us, Arizona started clapping we all did then before walking away. I followed after Callie.

"Torres, Y/l/n, I have a hip decubitus ulcer I need you check out." Mark said before taking us away. This wasn't anything I'd seen before. I was just glad that I was still on Callie's service. After that we were checking on what we had in the supplies.

"Hey. Need some help?" Lexie asked us while entering the room.

"Uh, no. We're good. Thanks. Ok. Never mind." Callie said as Lexie picked up some cast padding.

"I need to talk to you about Mark." She said to us, Lexie was ripping it apart.

"Could you not rip those?" Callie asked her but was ignored.

"He isn't speaking to me. He barely even looks at me. And I know that we broke up, but we still work together, and I'm gonna be a plastic surgeon." Lexie said to us, well she was talking with the wrong people.

"You're not gonna be a plastic surgeon." Callie said to us.

"We all know that." I said to her.

"Still, ok, we're gonna have to see each other every day. I mean, he's best friends with my sister's post-it husband. I don't know what to do." She said to us, I mean Mark wasn't being fair on Lexie.

"I know. He's not exactly being fair." Callie said to her.

"No, he's not being fair. Hey, seriously. Go easy on the cast padding." Callie said to her but she went even harder on the cast padding.

"You know, at least he could be civil. I had a one-night stand. Ok, big deal." Lexie said to us. I knew about that because of Alex.

"Right." Callie and I said to he,

"It's not like he didn't sleep with Addison." Lexie said to us. That was true.

"True, more than once." Callie said not helping her.

"What?" Lexie asked us.

"Hmm?" Callie and I hummed in a questioning tone.

"Nothing. I didn't say anything." Callie said to her, Lexie heard though you could tell.

"More than once? More than once? Oh!" Lexie said before scoffing and leaving.

"Give her some time, she'll forget what you said." I said to Callie.

"I hope your right." Callie said to me. We then continued on checking the inventory that we had. Put we needed more padding now after Lexie destroyed ours. When we did get a call we barely had enough padding to make a whole cast but we managed to work through it. Even if it meant me running to find another thing of cast padding. When it got to the end of the day we were packing everything away when Derek walked in and stopped us.

"Hi. I know it's been a long day, and you're all anxious to get home. But I feel like we got off on the wrong foot this morning. I don't expect to win your trust overnight. But I want each of you to know...you have mine. Which is why I felt it was important to personally come in here and, uh, apologize." Derek said to before leaving. I got changed and started heading out. When I got in the elevator Jackson got in as well.

"Can we talk?" He asked me, I looked at him.

"What is it? If it's about what Alex I said earlier then I'm sorry but that's how we felt." I said to him, he stopped the elevator.

"I appreciate that and I understand what that came from but I'm sorry about that whole argument. It got out of hand I know but I love you and I need you. I get it I have my friends but I need you as well." He said to me I walked over to him.

"I forgive you but can we not argue over work every again." I said to him he nodded. That was all solved now, work was going to dropped at the hospital doors. When I got home, I decided to make myself cake for dinner because I know it's unhealthy but it's what I wanted. I heard the front door open and Ken walked in.

"Sorry to intrude but I need help with studying." She said to me, I pointed to a seat in front of me.

"Take a seat, tell me and I'll help you." She did and showed me her textbook, I managed to help her through it and she then understood it. We both ate cake together afterwards.
