Prompt: Best Friends 

"You're my best friend!" The toddler giggled, thrusting the handmade friendship bracelet forward. Virgil took it in awe, then grinned back at Patton. "Thank you!" An hour later they were still running around in the field, laughing madly and falling over every five minutes.

"Hi! I'm Patton, and this is my best friend Virgil!" 12-year-old Virgil gave a shy wave to the kids Patton had approached and faded into the background of the conversation, watching as the energetic Patton befriended another group of children. How did he do it? He was so charismatic . . . It was amazing. 

A clash of lips on lips, soft and loving. They fitted together like puzzle pieces. Virgil felt pure elation welling up inside of him. They had always been best friends. Now they were even more.
