Escape Pilot (The Pack; Star Wars AU)
(This one-shot is actually from my Crossover One-shot book, and I'm reposting it here so that I can delete that book since I'm never really going to update it again. This was the only one-shot from there that I thought was decent, so I thought you guys might want to read it. There is also an Undertale crossover with the Pack and the Sidemen both, so you guys can tell me if you want me to post that one too. I tweaked this one-shot a bit to make it better, so I hope you guys enjoy it!)
(This is based off of the scene from The Force Awakens when Finn and Poe escape the First Order ship from the beginning of the movie.)
"The droid is located on Jakku." The masked Sith said as he walked out of the interrogation room, his hands behind his back as he spoke to the general who was waiting for him outside of the door. The Sith was dressed in full black, and he had his hood over his head, but his mask was still visible underneath. The mask was a silvery black, and in the shape of a dragon's head. A lightsaber was holstered on his belt, the metal gleaming menacingly in the pale light.
The stormtrooper hiding behind one of the pillars nearby didn't hear the general's words as he chased after the Sith with a flustered look on his face, but he hadn't come to eavesdrop on Lachlan Ren and General Landon... He was there for the person being held prisoner. RB-2187 took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. After a few seconds, he had finally calmed himself and walked over to the interrogation room, his white armor clicking as he walked, the helmet suddenly feeling heavy on the weary soldier's head.
RB-2187 looked to the keypad next to the door, racking his mind for the combination to open the door. He tried to hurry himself, reasoning that they would probably send someone to guard the prisoner soon. He had no time to waste, he told himself, as he quickly typed numbers into the keypad. He sighed in relief as the door slid open with a loud hiss.
He hurried inside, closing the door behind him. He inwardly let out a cheer, but then he remembered that he had a prisoner to help. The machine they used for interrogations was facing opposite of him, and RB-2187 groaned as he spun the heavy machine to face toward him. The stormtrooper's suspicions were confirmed... it had been the person he was looking for that had been interrogated.
The prisoner was strapped to the machine, with his arms to his sides. He was wearing a faded brown and orange jacket, a long-sleeved black shirt, brown army pants, and was wearing a pair of black combat boots. The stormtrooper recognized it as part of a Resistance pilot uniform. The prisoner slowly lifted up his head at RB-2187, and despite the obvious look of pain on his face, he still appeared ready to fight him, a furious spark in his brown eyes. There was a gash partially hidden underneath his ruffled brown hair, with blood dripping down the right side of his face, and RB-2187 could see a few more wounds on his tan skin. He must have... RB-2187 pushed the thought out of his head as a shiver ran down his back.
RB-2187 raised his hands defensively as he continued to approach the control pad on the machine. "It's okay dude, I'm here to help you."
The look on the prisoner's face softened a bit, but there was still a spark of suspicion in his eyes as he watched the stormtrooper fiddle with the control pad.
"How do I know you're not lying to me...?" he said in a strange accent as the binds loosened, releasing him. He attempted to stand on his wavering legs and had to grip the sides of the machine to keep himself from falling.
"This is a rescue. I'm helping you escape. You're a pilot, right? Can you fly a TIE Fighter?" RB-2187 asked with hope in his voice, ignoring the prisoner's previous question.
The pilot, who had regained his footing, looked up at RB-2187 with a smile on his face. "I can fly anything. You're looking at the best pilot in the Resistance." He said with pride in his voice. "Are you with the Resistance? You must be, right?"
"What? No, I'm not." The stormtrooper said as he shook his head. He reached behind him and undid the fastens on his helmet, slipping it off of his head, revealing his face to the pilot. He had messy brown hair, and pale skin. He had a bit of a scruff, and there was fear in his light brown eyes. "I'm helping you because it's the right thing to do."
The pilot looked RB-2187 in the eyes with an amused look on his face. "You need a pilot, don't you?"
"Yes I do." RB-2187 said simply.
The pilot smiled. "Let's do this."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
"Stay calm, stay calm." RB-2187 muttered to himself as he walked the pilot through the docks, his blaster on the pilot's back as if he was escorting him to another sector of the ship. The pilot gave him a sideways look, but continued walking. They suddenly stopped, standing in front of a large black TIE Fighter.
"This is our ship." RB-2187 whispered to the pilot, who had a grin on his face.
"Sweet. I've always wanted to take the wheel in one of these."
The other First Order soldiers and workers gave them no attention as they climbed aboard the small ship. While RB-2187 was trying to make as little noise as possible, the pilot jumped on board and climbed into the flyer's seat without a care. The pilot slipped off his jacket as he strapped himself in, RB-2187 throwing off his helmet as he buckled in the gunner's seat.
The pilot quickly explained how to work the blasters on ship as the confused stormtrooper looked hopelessly at the controls. "It's like your blaster!" The pilot yelled before he grabbed the steering toggles on his own control board as he began to maneuver his way out of the docks and into the space outside.
RB-2187 smiled as they advanced, but the TIE suddenly lurked. He looked out of his window, seeing that they were still cords attached to the ship from landing station it had been in. He felt panic set in as he saw the soldiers and stormtroopers frantically shooting at them from underneath, and he gripped the two toggles in his reach and pulled on the triggers. The blasters underneath the TIE Fighter shot at the landing station, blowing the whole thing in smithereens.
At the sudden release, the TIE soared off into space, away from the huge First Order ship. RB-2187 gulped as he saw more TIE Fighters come out of the docks and begin shooting at them.
"It's fine!" The pilot yelled from behind him. "Just shoot them down while maneuver!"
RB-2187 gulped, but followed the orders he was given and began shooting them down. Most went down almost instantly, blowing up and catching others in the flames. But one remained, and it was coming up right behind them, its blasters aimed directly at them. Their own ship suddenly spun as the pilot let out a "Tsk!" and yanked his toggles back, pulling the ship into a large loop, putting themselves behind the enemy TIE, which RB-2187 instantly shot down.
As more TIE Fighters flew from the ship, the pilot yelled back at the person sitting behind him, not taking his eyes from the space ahead of him. "Hey! Stormtrooper! What's your name?"
"RB-2187!" He yelled, shooting down another TIE that had come dangerously close to them.
"R.....B...what?" The pilot said, the confusion in his voice evident.
"Well... It's the only name they ever gave me!"
"Well, no offense, but that name is stupid and I'm not using it!" The pilot yelled as they did a corkscrew in the air to avoid the red lasers brushing past them. "RB.....RB...... Rob! I'll call you Rob! Is that okay with you?"
"Rob. Rob..." RB-2187 said to himself, tossing the word around. "Yeah! Rob! I like it!"
The pilot smiled. "The name's Vikk!"
"Same to you Rob!"
The two laughed as Vikk eased the ship into smooth flight, heading toward the dusty orange planet that had been looming under them.
"W-Why are we going to Jakku?!?!?" Rob yelled unhappily. "We need to get away from the First Order!"
"I know, but my droid Pete is down there! We need to get him to the Resistance!"
"A droid?! We are seriously going back for a freaking droid?!?!?"
Vikk was silent, and after a moment, he found his voice again.
"That droid has very important data stored inside of it, and if the First Order gets their hands on it, then all hope for the Resistance is lost."
"What information could possibly be so important?" Rob scoffed, turning to look at Vikk, who had a stressed look on his face.
"The droid holds the last piece to the map that will tell us where to find Choco Skywalker."
