okay but I AM LITERALLY SO PROUD OF THIS THEME. like. SO PROUD. i might even consider this the best graphic i've EVER made so far. it took me more than 5 hours to make AND IT WAS SO WORTH IT. (i'm so gonna use this as my new theme. it. is. so. GOOD!)

basically, we had to create a theme using a given colour with an idol of our choice. i was assigned blood orange. thing is, i don't know exactly what blood orange is. therefore, i searched it up and ended up downloading a 'blood orange colour palette' of about five colours that i used for this graphic. (so if this isn't actually blood orange, i'm sorry T_T blame Google) i decided to do a Felix theme since it's already been like a year since i've used him, lol. (also because he looks great in orange hair)

although Halloween's already over (and i don't celebrate Halloween anyway, since i'm a Christian), i decided the blood orange colour scheme would be perfect for a cute, spooky, horror-inspired theme! (i just accidentally rhymed. i swear that wasn't intentional.) my original idea was to go with a full horror theme, but i ended up doing a cute, animated-style theme with a twist of horror.

i hand-drew nearly everything, which is why it looks so 'cacat', lmao. the ghost, cat, and pumpkin are all hand-drawn, as well as all the other little illustrations (such as the 'blood' on Felix's face). i used a similar style as my 'Baby Monster' poster, except instead of neon hyperpop like that one, i went for an animated feel to this. i wanted a kinda cartoonish vibe, if you get what i mean?

i did some light manip on his face and hair (the freckles + blush, and the little shiny orange hair streaks) then drew as much 'blood' as possible, as well as outlining his face and enhancing his earrings. (besides the cross earring, if you look closer, you might see the piercings i've given him at the side of his ear!) i also gave him fangs and white eyes for a cool horror vibe.

in the second picture, he's eating something, so i used that as the base to draw blood in his mouth, as well as blood dripping from his hand (i wanted to put a human heart there earlier to symbolise him eating the heart, but realistic hearts are hard to draw 💔) then i added the cats, ghost, and pumpkins i drew here and there, because it was a great way to fill up negative space.

i struggled a lot with matching the colours of the Felix used in the icon and the Felix used in the header. although they're from the same photoshoot, the lighting is really different? i think cause the winking Felix one was edited but i can't find the original. however, some colour balance later, they look pretty similar! i also struggled with his lips, since i wanted to make them look more 'animated' so the fangs wouldn't look too out of place, but when i did bold colours on 100% opacity, he just looked like a clown. so that took a lot of experimenting. i also took a while to find the right font for his name, but Mellony came through <3

this is the best theme i've ever made (not that that's saying a lot, since i've only made like four lmao) and my favourite graphic so far. besides the obvious awesomeness, the thing i love about this graphic is that it literally looks amazhang with so many filters. (yes, i absolutely had a field day with the filters lmao) while i love the original the most and will be submitting that, i'm gonna drop some of my favourite filtered ones!

↝ this one gives me 'Star vs The Forces of Evil' vibes, if you get what i mean? (idk, Felix just kinda reminds me of Tom here, also the animation looks weirdly similar?) i think it's really cool because it brings out the 'animated' side of the theme and the icon especially really looks like it's entirely hand-drawn fanart.

↝ the orange looks so deep and bloody here and i literally love it. if i didn't love the original so much, i'd probably have submitted this one since i think it fits the 'blood orange' scheme the most.

↝ this was the first filter i tried, and i instantly fell in love with it. this is probably my favourite of the filtered ones. it's dark and bloody and looks both creepy and cool at the same time. sadly, it was a bit too dark for my liking and a lot of the details didn't stand out (such as the blood in his hand) so i couldn't submit this one 😔)

↝ this was made with a filter i made myself (maybe i'll share the code one day lol, it was the first filter i ever made so it's pretty good for a first attempt but only eh as a filter). no but it's the fact that this theme fits pretty much every colour scheme for me---like---the pink suits it so well??? but there's not much contrast between the colours :/

↝ this is totally not me promoting my filters---this was made using my 'Love Language' filter (in the 'filter + aesthetics' chapter!) and as usual, my talent fails to disappoint me. it looks so good! it's creepy and bloody and really gives the animated blood a whole new dimension. i'm amazhang, thank you very much.

overally, i'm literally so so proud of this graphic. like??? this is such a pretty theme and even though i skipped tuition to make it, i have no regrets because it turned out amazhang and i'm so so happy with it.
