fun fact: i did the lettering of the cafe name by myself. mainly because the original cafe name was 'Busk', and i didn't think that was the name of the cafe in your book. i've always prided myself on details, so i took a quick flip through your book and found out the cafe name (i hope i got the correct name!) then i typed it in a fancy, suitable font, embossed it, and overlayed gold over it and a light shadow under it so it looked like part of the actual sign. that's actually the part of this graphic that i'm the proudest of, because i've never used Emboss before so i'm really happy with how it turned out haha.

I KNOW my proportions are off (the cup and books are way too big, especially the cup, and the table is a bit too small) but ehhh, i was too lazy to resize them further xD (and i wanted the model to be seen clearer so i made the table smaller) sorry about that! but i wasn't really going for a really realistic look to it (i was going for more of a blend of realistic and manipulated?) and i've always been crap at proportions so yeah.

i did a face swap and redrew the hair again because Rosé's hair was like, impossible to erase without having to cover up later, and Kathryn's hand was in her hair so i had to cover up that too. while i'm not super proud of the hair (since i'm still not really used to drawing my own hair stock), i'm really happy with the face swap. it looks pretty natural and Kathryn's head fits well on Rosé's body. i also recoloured her dress from blue to beige to make it fit the colour scheme (because the pop of bright blue looked weird), and also discovered that blend mode Hue is a gift from the heavens.

(that aside, Kathryn Bernado is??? like??? so freaking pretty??? this is my first time seeing or hearing about her and she is literally gorgeous??? even if i wasn't already bi, i would TOTALLY go straight for her---)

so the concept i went for here was obviously a coffee shop aesthetic, to represent April's cafe. i put coffee on the table because of that, and the pile of books is to represent how she's a daydreamer. i used a loose, slightly flowy dress to represent her dreamy, carefree nature, and i filtered it into warm colours to fit the autumn colour palette you wanted.

this concept was loosely inspired by Vanivoo's 'La Douleur Exquisite' cover (of course, hers is much better xD)

i had a lot of fun drawing the shadows and messing around with airbrush for the extra objects. the potted plant is just there for atmosphere (and to fill up negative space) but i think it looks pretty cool xD. while i think the lighting and integration (and of course, the proportions) could be better, i had fun with this and quite liked the way it turned out!
