Alright, so continuing off the prompt we were given, Lia Park is portrayed by Yeji from Itzy (I wanted to portray Lia by Lia from Itzy but I couldn't find any good pics of Lia from the side T_T), Minjae is portrayed by Yeonjun from TXT, and Jaemin is portrayed by Lee Know from Stray Kids (Jaemin and Minjae. very clever, Treasure.)

So, I know everyone's gonna have Lia end up with Jaemin. Because I'm special, she ends up with Minjae instead. This is shown by how the cherry blossoms being coughed up by her are drifting towards Minjae, while Jaemin watches from a distance. Jaemin and everything else is blurred, because Lia and Minjae end up together, so they are the focus of the cover.

However, there's a twist in the story. Lia never forgot her first love, Minjae, and when he finally fell for her too, she ended up with him, despite her growing feelings for his best friend, Jaemin. All seems like it's fine. Minjae loves Lia, Lia loves Minjae, and the wretched petals have stopped. Lia's defeated the Hanahaki disease. Or so she thinks.

Until one day, she starts coughing again. The cherry blossoms come up soaked in blood, and it is then that Lia realises that her feelings for Jaemin never went away---and they are now stronger than her feelings for Minjae. Afraid to hurt her boyfriend and refusing to break up with Minjae, Lia conceals the flower petals for as long as she can, no matter how much it hurts her. Even when she can't breathe, she doesn't say a word, refusing to break Minjae's heart for the fear that he will suffer from the dreaded Hanahaki too.

One day, Jaemin is walking home alone, when he stumbles across something under a cherry blossom tree. It is Lia's body, still warm. "It was you I truly loved," the bloody petals still spilling out of her mouth seem to say. But Jaemin knows he'll never know the truth, because Lia Park is gone, and she has left nothing but the Hanahaki behind. As Jaemin weeps over Lia's corpse, something falls from his own lips---a cherry blossom petal.

I've shown this by how Lia is reaching out to Minjae but can never touch him, and also by how Minjae isn't looking at her. While this also represents how Minjae doesn't notice her at first, it also symbolises my continuation, in which Minjae turns out to be her first love, but not her true one---therefore, she is never able to truly 'reach' him, and he always seems to be distant from her. I airbrushed the sakura petals coming out of her mouth to represent both the Hanahaki disease and how Lia is going to die in the end. Jaemin is surrounded by cherry blossoms---a sign that he too will get the Hanahaki disease in the end.

The subtitle is me trying to be funny, because the Hanahaki disease chokes you to death, and the Hanahaki technically stems from your feelings (in this case, love). And usually people say they're choked with emotion or their feelings. Therefore, I combined that to make a 'humorous' subtitle that probably no one appreciates :)

Honestly, I'm really proud of this cover. Like, I spent a long ass time on it (especially The Great Yeji Swap) and I think it turned out really well, and the filter ties it all together. I think I've managed to successfully convey both Treasure's original storyline and my own continuation of it. Overall, really happy with the end result :D

also, i'm gonna be submitting my first kpop audition tape ever to a company tomorrow, so wish me luck! fingers crossed that i get in xD
