Chapter 8

McKinley's POV

You have NO idea on how happy I am that it is Sunday. I mean, I just looked at my Instagram-wait, here go follow me! I'm @lazyandtired. Actually, please don't. I look like a dirty sock. You don't want or need to see a dirty sock.

Anyway, apparently, they dubbed me as "Chicken girl w/ an attitude." So I copied and pasted onto my bio, snapped a selfie, and posted a pic with that description. Hey, I'm just owning my awesomeness.

But I was just so exhausted and ready to just sleep. Or Netflix. That sounds nice. Oh! Netflix and Poptarts! Yeah, that's it.  Church this morning was nice, and the sermon was deep and you felt the connection, aside from the fact that I was almost asleep, but even though the church itself is a welcoming place, some of the teenagers in my youth group weren't feeling very....welcoming. More like...despising you just because.

Anyway, it's now 9:00. And if I actually want to shower and get ready for bed before midnight, I had to wriggle out of my blanket cocoon and get my pet pig, Martin (Marty for short), who also happens to be 85 pounds,  off of my lap. Yes, I have a pig. He's from my Uncle's farm. What, I'm a country girl! I was bound to get a pig. But now I had to get up.

"Alrighty, Marty-" I sucked in a breath as I picked up the heavy piglet. "Woah! You sure did gain a couple pounds, has dad been feeding you extra carrots?" Yep, Marty ate carrots. He's a bit of a weirdo, but I couldn't love him any less. Now that Marty was off of me, I got up, folded the blanket, put it away, and cleaned up. Sometimes it kind of felt like I lived on my own. Don't get me wrong, I am so glad that they are saving lives and helping people, but I feel like they forget about me. As I thought about these depressing thoughts, I went up to shower. But then I heard my phone ding.

"Who is it now-oh hey, I just got a new follower on Instagram," I clicked on it, and it led me to her profile. "Huh, Mia Grace, cool name," I dug a little deeper and found out that she went to my school. "Well finally! I've been needing a friend." I direct messaged her, asking her what her schedule was, and obviously introducing myself. Hopefully, she would answer me before I school tomorrow. And hopefully, she wouldn't take me as a stalker.

I waltzed into my room. I loved my room, as it was my "safe space." My bed was a twin (because queen or king beds are too large to sleep in) and the walls had white shiplap up to the middle of the room and above the shiplap was sky blue walls. My bedding was from Pottery Barn Teen. It was a beautiful white with the bottom covered in floral print.

So I finally went into the shower, then got out (duh), put on my Hufflepuff pajama's (even though everyone says I'm a Slytherin) and did my nightly routine. Now, since I'm not a YouTuber, I won't describe it in detail. Just know that I am clean.

I read a little bit of my book, which was a thriller, and went to bed a little scared. Hey, It's a creepy book! So then I turned off my light and went to bed. Yep. It's that simple. Oh, and I may have gotten a reply back from Mia Grace. And we may both hate Brady equally. Hey, I may have also made a new friend! The point is, good night!

a/n: I know, it's kind of just a filler chapter. But the next one will be waaaaay better, I promise. Hopefully y'all like it! Anyway, please have a blessed day and be kind :) Being happy, smiling, and being kind are all ways to improve your mental health! Have a day. (and a hopefully good one at that!)
