Chapter 16
McKinley's POV
To say that Charlie's lightning bolt threw me off would be an understatement. I was fascinated, astonished, and most importantly, dumb founded.
"I'm going insane!" I exclaimed, clutching my head.
"And why would you say that?" Charlie chuckled, playing with the crackling electricity.
"Well, for one thing, you JUST CREATED A LIGHTNING BOLT!" I yelled. Was Charlie just playing with my mind? Or was something eviler afoot?
"Oh yes, I did, but more importantly, what can you do?" He smirked, a sinister grin growing on his face.
I was a bit confused. Where was the spandex? The masks? The secret lair? Well, I think the evil lair is covered. Otherwise, where was I? His grandparents best friend's basement? My main concern was if I was kidnapped. But my second biggest concern was if I had an ability.
"You think I know? Look, Charlie, honey, sugar, I'll put this simply. I wouldn't be here if I did." I sighed. How could this not be obvious, I was in his lair.
"I should just wipe your memory," Charlie muttered. But I heard it, and my eyes grew wide. All of a sudden, a flash of light filled the room and started glowing.
Ladies and gentlemen, meet the human glowstick!
"What is going on?" I exclaimed, looking around, desperate to find the cause of this. And that I looked down. I was the cause.
"Incredible!" Charlie murmured in awe. I rolled my eyes.
"No! Not awesome! I'm a glowstick!" I yelled. The glow was warm, and not neon. It felt safe, but not while it was being produced off of a human body. Now, I was no human torch. I just glowed. Then I opened my hand. A scream pierced the air as the light flashed out of it.
"How do I stop it? What do I do?" I exclaimed. My face was the exact definition of distraught. And oh boy, was I! This was a situation I couldn't even imagine. It was crazy, it was insane. But, it was fun.
"What I'm a doing? I'm not a ray of sunshine!" I exclaimed. Then it hit me. I had the power of light.
"Oh my biscuits and gravy, I'm a literal ray of sunshine!" I shrieked. I was amazed. My science teacher would probably have fainted.
"Well, did my parents know about this?" I asked, tilting my head to the side. Through the corner of my eye, I saw the person who got me into this mess. My eyes widened, but I looked away slowly.
"Brady, if you get caught... " I muttered, hoping no one heard me. This was officially Mission Impossible.
