A few minutes passed by, but their silence was not broken. Taking it as a cue, Nisha broke the ice saying," Siddharth, please tell me everything you know. Please, no cheating. " She entwined her hand in his.

" Ok ma'am " Saying So, he started off with his monologue of the tale.

"Once upon a time, there was:

A girl, so cheerful
But her soul, tearful
To feign a smile she tried
But within, she cried.

Alone she wailed,
For her heart pained
Seeing the old days,
Paving back their ways.

A broken soul inside
Though gambol, outside
Forcing that look,
Which lightly they took.

Telling herself not to be shattered
For those, who mattered
To feign a smile she tried,
But within, she cried.

And Then,

There was a hopeless lover,
wanting to see her in the world of happiness
And remove the cover
Of the never-ending sadness.

He wanted to see her smile
So didn't mind travelling the extra mile
To uncover her past
And let that tear be the last
One that will ever leave her eyes
And the person as cold as ice,
The one behind her misery
Meet his fate, morosely.

So to unveil the mystery
He had to flip the pages of history
Without letting her know
As now
It could hurt her
Which never does he want to hear."

Nisha was dumbstruck,  and as soon as Siddhrath finished with his poetic session, she said," Siddharth, you are such a beautiful poet. But, please explain what to did to 'unveil the mystery'??"

"Well, thank you for the compliment. But, the credit goes to you. For you are the one who has awaken the poet inside me. Anyways, what I was saying was..
To know your past, I actually appointed a detective, Ms. Bose. She feigned to be friends with that Dev, and started extracting information. Well, all she told me was that in your college days, you and Dev became friends. You probably had a crush on him, leading you to agree to his proposal when he said the three magical words to you. You thought it was love, but he never thought about it. All he knew was to play with your emotions and leave you. Also, he asked you a handsome amount of money, for handling you for so long, which you are still paying him back. Conclusion: He is the most obdurate person I ever met. I promise to gather proofs against him and take legal action."

As soon as he finished, Sonakshi started her tale," But, the latest discovery says that Dev is innocent. He himself is suffering. And, I have proofs. Trust me, I am not saying this just because I love him, but also because it is the truth. The culprit is someone else. Someone who we need to find out. All I know is that Dev is not the one behind her misery. It is actually Dev, whom the person wants to see suffering."

"But who?" Asked Nisha.

" I don't know Nisha. All I know is Dev is innocent."

"How do we believe you?" It was Sanchi who asked.

"I have the proof"the voice came, making them turn towards the door. There he was, the person in question, Dev.

He came forward and placed a pendrive in front of them. He said," Believe me for once, I have put all my efforts to get these proofs. Please, see them and then you can decide. I am really sorry for what I have done. I'm ready for punishment. But please, for once see my side of the story. Please"

Seeing him beg, they agreed. They attached the pendrive to the computer, and started seeing, more of, listening.

The screen was blank, only some voices could be heard. Yes, it was Dev.

" Please don't do this. Please leave them. Why are you doing this? Please leave them. Please"

The person on the other side said," Not so soon. You have to follow every instruction I give you. If not, be ready to see the corpse of your dear parents."

" I swear I will do as you say. Just don't do anything to them."

" okay. So, it's quite simple, actually. All you have to do is  get admission in a college and ruin the life of a girl. Her name is Nisha. Make her fall for you and leave her. Ask her for money. Make her life a living hell" says the person, laughing evil. He then cut the call.

Dev then shows them a photo. It was the profile of the college going Nisha. He said ,"  he then sent me this. You were my first prey Nisha. After you, he made me ruin many more people. I even tried to escape, as the guilt of cheating on you was eating me alive. But, I could not do anything. They killed my father, Nisha, they killed him. I was helpless. I am sorry."

They diverted their attention to the screen where it showed similar audios, just the name of the girl kept changing.

After the clip was over, they all asked," Dev, how do you have it? The proof."

He said," Actually I recorded it everytime in the hope of reporting it to the police. But, they were smart. They took away every damn clip. I somehow managed to get it now. So, I came here to show it to you all."

With this, everyone was sure that Dev was innocent. Sonakshi was the happiest as now, she could confess her love without any tensions. Now, they were together on a mission. To find the real culprit..
