Chapter 7
• Do you have a boyfriend? •
Juana sat on Taehyung's lap and looked at that arrogant face with a smile. Taehyung wanted to avoid her face. But his heart started beating for the only person who was smiling at him like that. Unknowingly, both of them started looking at the sky as he wrapped his arms around the girl's waist and pulled her close to him.
Juana wanted to know about Taehyung's past. If he had an illness, she wanted to help him get well. She also feels that she has no doubts about him now as in the beginning.
"Tae, where are your family?"
"I haven't."
Taehyung's usual short answers confused the girl even more. It was very clear to her that he didn't want to remind or tell anyone about those things from his answers.
"Don't you remember about those things?"
"I remember. I was an orphan. An orphan who was thrown away by everyone as garbage. I have no one... Are you happy now?"
Taehyung suddenly pushed the girl away and went out of the room while tears fell from Juana's eyes. The pain in the heart was more serious than the pain the girl felt when she fell to the ground. Juana realized that no matter what she talked about with Taehyung, he always got angry because his mind was always affected by the same things. But she didn't want to continue to put up with all these things that Taehyung was doing.
Juana slowly came out of the room and went down the stairs to find Taehyung. When the whole house was in pitch darkness, she was able to clear the way just because of the light of the moon that fell from the sky. Due to non-payment of the electricity bill for several months, the house's electricity was cut off. What would a lonely Taehyung do if even Juana wasn't in this house?
The boy who was sitting on the floor near the sofa, which was on one side of the house, buried his face in his legs, causing sympathy in Juana's heart. Juana sat down next to the boy and slowly ran her fingers through his hair. As someone who faced loneliness, she felt that there was no big difference between her and Taehyung's situation.
"I had both a mom and dad, but they didn't suit me. It was like we were in three worlds. Mom went to her village and dad stayed at his house. Then I came to Seoul. I wanted to live alone. I used to fight with them all the time. Better to be alone than done."
He was listening attentively when Juana said while slowly trying to lean the boy's head on her chest. But this time he is stubborn enough not to approach the girl. The saying that you can't forget your first love was valid for him when Liyu's memories were still floating around in his mind.
"I lived alone. I didn't even have friends. It's better to be alone if they're all with us only for profit, isn't it?"
"But if being alone fills me with pain. If everyone stands aside and laughs at me?"
Juana was a little worried when Taehyung asked, who suddenly raised his head and looked at her. There is nothing wrong with what he says. Just like a lonely person wants to escape from it, a person who always has someone around him may want to get away from those things and be alone.
"You can show that you are stronger than those laughing people."
"Haha... It's not as easy as it sounds. How do you know what a person who lives alone without parents and friends needs? People like you only know how to give advice."
There was more pain in Taehyung's voice than anger. It bothered him that every time he saw Juana, Liyu appeared in his mind. Now he understands that every time she hugs Liyu with love, she has another boy in her mind. With that feeling, he couldn't help but suspect Juana. In the end, Juana would never have thought that she would have to pay for all of Liyu's mistakes.
"Did you have a boyfriend?"
"Ah..."
"I was asking about the boyfriend you had before you came here."
"I never had someone like that, Taehyung."
"Liars, you are all liars. You are deceiving me. Get out of here!"
"Tae..."
"Yaah..."
The girl grabbed Taehyung's hand again and tried to calm him down, but she couldn't do anything. When Taehyung slapped the girl's hand, it hit the table and the hand hurt more, and the girl quickly went up the stairs. No matter how careful she was, she couldn't stop Taehyung from getting upset about anything. Because of loneliness, that heart has started to get angry now.
Little by little, as the fatigue felt in her heart increased, the girl leaned on the sofa, and before she could even think, the sleeping goddess embraced her. Taehyung, who had been outside for a while and crying out about his pain so that no one could see it, when he came to the room, he saw the girl sleeping on the sofa. There was an indescribable greed in his heart for the only person he had now. Why didn't I call it love? Because Taehyung still hasn't gotten Liyu out of his mind.
Taking the girl slowly in his arms, the boy left her on the bed and laid himself there when the girl started to curl up with the warmth she felt all of a sudden. She had not willingly approached Liyu for a single day when she was at his house. Taehyung was impressed that Juana didn't reject him when she didn't show interest.
"Don't leave me! I'm lonely. I feel so cold every night. I have nightmares because of this loneliness. I'm afraid of being alone."
While softly whispering in the girl's ear, he kissed her cheeks lovingly and fell asleep hugging her. He had so many emotions. But the difference was that no one was ready to listen to his feelings or accept them. Really, that heart also needs love.
Every day that he was alone, he went to sleep with those things in mind, and he always had nightmares. He wanted to hear from someone close to him the words 'you always have me'. Most of the time, even if there is no truth in those words, that moment of feeling that it is true will bring him strength. But there was no one to tell him those things.
Loneliness is more complicated than you think.
To be continued .....
