Reki missed Langa. A fact he was only willing to admit at the moment as he lay curled up shivering in his own bed, a dreamlike haze enveloping his thoughts as a fever made him feel as though he were burning out of his skin.
He whimpered, rolling over slightly as he pulled the blanket further around himself.
Reki's body feels heavy, his joints stiff as he tried to get into a comfortable position where it felt like his body wasn't screaming at him in pain every ten seconds.
"Langa, " he whispered, half-lidded eyes roving around the room until they landed on his cellphone.
A glance at his window let him know that it was sunset, the bright sunlight that had been stabbing him in the eyes earlier that day had already begun retreating into a soft orangish hue.
He has enough awareness to note that his house was quiet, almost eerily so. With his family probably gone out shopping or something, leave Reki alone with his barely coherent thoughts, the silence laying heavily over him. Bringing a feeling of unease with it.
Reki shifts blindly reaching for his phone but his fingers fumble heavy, uncoordinated so he stops trying, resting his hand on his stomach as the ache settling in it brings a sharp bolt of panic piercing through the fog in his mind.
He feels sick, a different kind of sick than the fever currently wreaking hell on his body. He feels nauseous.
Reki swallows hard as his stomach seems to churn beneath his hand, a low groan leaving his lips as he rubs at it. It doesn't do him any good though, the soup and water he'd managed to eat earlier almost sloshing in his stomach.
He tries reaching for his phone again but gives a soft huff of frustration when he listens to the soft thump of it falling to the floor.
Why had he even needed his phone again? Reki wondered as he blearily blinked up at the ceiling.
One word, or name rather appears clearer than anything else in his mind at the moment. Langa. He wanted, no need to talk to Langa.
Reki closes his eyes for a moment, coughing softly when he feels a strange, warm tickling at the back of his throat.
Reki desperately wanted to be wherever Langa was right now, but he had trouble with merely trying to think of where Langa would be right now.
Then the answer strikes with startling clarity in his mind, the skate park. If he wanted to find Langa then all he had to do was go to the skate park.
It was a good answer although moderately flawed, but Reki doesn't focus on any of that, or rather he isn't able to, as he clumsily staggers out of bed.
A low groan leaving his mouth along with a soft hiccup as the world just like his stomach seems to swirl, the world becoming a smear of colors that for a moment makes Reki incredibly dizzy, his nausea only growing stronger.
At one point he has to stop in the middle of his struggle to get dressed, his hand coming up to his mouth to cover it slightly as he gags for a second or two. Fear pierced through the haze in his mind with each attempt his stomach made to reject its contents.
Once dressed, which includes wearing his hoodie inside out, Reki leaves his room staggering his way down the hallway and to the front door stopping every so often to catch his breath.

By the time Reki makes it to the skate park, it's dark, the white glow of the street lights guiding the way.
He stumbles, falling to his hands and knees exhausted, coughing. It's hot, way, way too hot the normally cold night air doing little to nothing to get rid of the heat that seems to be burning him from the inside out.
With a soft groan, Reki sits back, moving until he's sitting down on a nearby curb, his head in his hands.
Reki is at the skatepark but he doesn't see Langa, he reaches down to his pocket clumsily searching for his phone but gives up rather quickly when he can't find it.
He just wanted to see Langa, was that too much of a request?
Whimpering he just sits there with his head in his hands, trying to block out the searing light of the street lights. His head pounding and his stomach churning as he begins crying both out of frustration and from his frayed nerves.
Then it starts to rain and Reki looks up briefly, it feels nice on his burning skin so he doesn't bother pulling the hood of his hoodie up.
He simply sits there slowly blinking as he stares at the ground, mostly delirious and upset so he doesn't even try to stop the loud wet burp that suddenly leaves his mouth.
Although his eyes do go wide in horror after the fact, a hand coming up to cover his mouth. No, no, no this couldn't be happening this just couldn't be.
Reki really did not need nor want any part of this right now.
But as he suddenly gives a strangled retch, Reki realizes, albeit very slowly, that his body doesn't care what he wants.
Reki whimpers, tears running down his face he retches again, feeling a warm wet drool dripping against his hand. "No, no, please don't, " he pleads softly, swallowing quickly trying to force back the bitter bile bubbling at the back of his throat.
His panic and fear only grows as he retches again, his pleading ignored as his retching turns wet and a bitter, sour taste coats his mouth. He whimpers again a weak, broken sound that gets cut off as vomit gurgles up his throat.
It splashes against his hand covering his mouth, and he feels the disgustingly warm watery liquid dripping through the cracks in his fingers.
It colors the rain at his feet a pale murky yellow and Reki whimpers again. "Langa-" he whines only to be cut off by another retch.
He doesn't get a chance to breathe, as a gurgling burp tears from his throat bringing more regurgitated soup with it, adding to the puddle-like slurry at his feet.
Panting Reki looks up blinking away the stars filling his vision as his head throbs. He thinks he hears footsteps and someone calling his name.
He blinks and when he opens his eyes again he sees Langa kneeling beside him, a look of worry, panic, and relief clear on the other boy's face.
"Everyone's looking for you! What are you doing out here, Reki," Langa asked as he moved the umbrella he was holding to cover them both.
Reki was soaked from the rain and had what looked like a large stain on the front of his hoodie. As Langa laid a hand on his shoulder he could feel him trembling.
"Reki?" Langa called again, biting his lip as he tried to peer into Reki's face.
Sniffling Reki wrapped his arms around Langa in a hug, holding him close.
"I-I missed you, " Reki admitted, crying as tears rolled down his face.
"Is that why you're out here?" Langa asked, pulling back slightly to look at him. While he was definitely happy to see and be talking to Reki again he desperately wished it was under different circumstances.
Reki nodded, his breath hitching. "I wanted to see you, " he whimpered.
Langa nodded slowly, biting his lip. Reki wanted to see Langa and in his delirium more than likely thought he'd find him here at the skate park, that answered Langa's question as to why he'd been out here in the first place.
His gaze went back down to Reki when his body suddenly jolted in Langa's arms, with a soft hiccup. Langa heard a soft gurgling noise, then Reki gasped retching as he struggled slightly in Langa's arms, and a second later Langa felt a splash of warmth coat the front of his shirt.
Pulling away slightly, Langa looked down at Reki who had his hand clamped over his mouth, looking like he was trying not to cry as his shoulders shook with a barely suppressed heave, vomit dripping from between his fingers.
"Shhh, hey, it's okay, I'm here. It's okay Reki, I have you just get it up, " Langa did his best to reassure him.
Reki whimpered as tears filled his eyes. "B-but I don't want to, I'm scared, " he managed to whimper, his voice wavering as he struggled to force back the wave of vomit climbing up his throat.
"I know, but you'll feel better when you do, " Langa told him gently as he rubbed his back.
Reki glanced at him, then nodded slowly although he still didn't look the least bit calm. And Langa couldn't blame him for that, especially when Reki shakily lowered his hand from his mouth and lurched forward towards the ground with another retch.
"I have you, it's okay, " Langa muttered, rubbing his hand in small soothing circles on Reki's back.
Reki merely groans the noise tapering off into a loud wet burp that has more watery vomit spraying the ground. Although it's mostly liquid it still takes a while for Reki's heaving and retching to taper off for the moment, but eventually, the boy sits back soft hiccups still leaving his mouth as his eyes flutter slightly.
Wrapping an arm around him, Langa pulls Reki close, setting his umbrella aside for now as he pulls out his cellphone to let the others know where they are.
"Langa?" Reki whispered glancing up at him, he'd probably still be crying if he could but he feels completely and utterly drained, weak. So much so when a small trickle of bile leaves his mouth he does absolutely nothing to stop it merely letting it fall onto the front of his hoodie, it's already a mess anyway so it doesn't matter.
"Yes?" Langa says as he waits for someone to answer the phone.
"Please don't leave me again, " Reki begged, leaning further into Langa's grip. He closes his eyes for a moment, he's exhausted but also incredibly happy that Langa's finally by his side again.
For a moment Langa is silent, then he gives a soft sigh, a hand stroking through Reki's hair feeling Reki slump against him. "I won't, I promise."
