There were many things Razor disliked, he didn't like crowds having lived in the forest among nature most of his life, although that didn't stop him from tagging along with Bennett if the other boy asked.

Because if Bennett was happy then Razor was happy.

Razor also wasn't a fan of overly complicated tasks and overbearing scents, his nose being sensitive and his mind easily confused.

However, even he had listened to what the tall lady in purple, Lisa, had taught him about both the land and how to use his vision.

She would often come to check on him from time to time, typically bringing what seemed like hand-drawn children's books that helped Razor understand things like how to save his food for later, cut off all the fat then salt it and leave it to dry out, or what berries were safe for him to eat.

Bitter equaled bad or unripened, and sometimes when unripened certain berries could be poisonous to him.

It was admittedly a lot for Razor to try and remember, especially to memorize although his memory tended to be better than most considering he'd had to memorize all the places for him and his Lupical to find food as well as fresh clean water away from monsters.

He had to memorize what different animal and monster tracks looked like. Razor knew that he was not a wolf, but still, he felt at home among them so what he could not do, due to his human form he made up for with his electro vision, sword, and what intelligence he did have.

Razor gave a soft hum as he looked down at the meat skewers he was roasting over the fire. "Salt...water. Need salt," he muttered to himself recalling a few of the things Lisa had taught him.

To get salt he could boil water from the ocean, he knew that much after all the ocean water was salty very unlike the water in the lakes and rivers in Wolvendom.

Razor rummages around in the few things he did have in his makeshift home inside the cave. Most being gifts from Bennett or his friends.

Eventually, he finds what he was looking for, a flask that Bennett had given him when they'd first met. Simply seeing the item made Razor incredibly happy, although he didn't fully understand why.

Whenever he looked at the gifts Bennett gave him it always made him happy, a strange warmth opening in his chest.

It was confusing and Razor couldn't help but wonder if he was sick whenever it happened. Maybe he could try asking Lisa whenever she came to visit him again.

He grabs the small metal bowl as well, pouring some water from the flash into it before placing it over the open flame to boil.

With that being prepared Razor gets up wandering a little ways outside his cave until he finds some familiar berries.

He grabs a few, squeezing one until the sticky juice coats his fingers before licking it. Razor cringes dropping the berries in an instant when a strong bitter taste coats his tongue.

"Bad, no good," he mumbles Lisa's words at the forefront of his mind. He spits off to the side trying to rid his mouth of the disgusting bitter almost chalky taste.

That's when some different berries caught his eye, bright pink ones he remembered seeing Bennett eating once or twice. Still being cautious Razor tastes the juice from those as well, smiling when sweetness fills his mouth. They were a bit hard to chew but delicious nonetheless and he knew they were safe because they were sweet and Bennett had eaten them before with no problems.

So with berries in hand Razor returned to his cave to continue preparing the rest of his dinner.

Once dinner is over Razor goes to bed feeling a bit more tired than usual.

Razor doesn't know what time it is when he wakes up but he knows that it's sometime in the morning if the crisp cold air and the slight sunlight visible at the mouth of the cave.

But for a few moments, Razor just lays there blinking slowly as soft whimpers leave his mouth. He doesn't feel well, his body is hot, seemingly burning from the inside out as if he were laying on an open fire.

The world seemed to tilt slightly before his eyes and Razor closed his eyes, swallowing hard in an effort to make it stop because it was making him feel incredibly dizzy and sick to his stomach.

Was he sick? Injured? He didn't smell any blood, although it was admittedly slightly hard to breathe as though something heavy were sitting on his chest. Razor didn't know what was wrong, all he knew is that he really, really didn't like this.

His limbs feel heavy and tingling as though he's being attacked by electro slimes. With a low groan Razor rolls over and tries to prop himself up slightly on his arms.

He manages to lift himself up halfway, and whimpers as the world tilt,s the disparity between what he's seeing and feeling along with where he thinks his body is, has him gagging although he brings nothing up.

Razor whimpers as drool drips from his mouth, the world swaying before his eyes. He just stays there panting for a moment trying to gather his bearings the best he can.

Once the gagging fit has passed Razor shifts carefully, slowly moving until he's fully sitting up. He begins checking himself for wounds, his normally nimble fingers clumsy and uncoordinated which combined with how awful he feels at the moment frustrates him.

Seeing no signs of injury Razor frowns biting his lip. If he wasn't injured then he had to be sick. Closing his eyes he tries to recall what Lisa and Bennett had both taught him about what to do when he got sick. It's hard to remember, whatever is making him feel this way, leaves him feeling as though every one of his thoughts are slipping through his fingers.

"Help...go to village," he eventually whispered to himself.

Razor really, really did not want to go to a crowded village but it was his only option and he trusted Bennett and Lisa's judgment on this way more than his own.

So Razor drags himself to his feet using his claymore almost like a crutch. The weapon is abnormally heavy, the comfortable weight he'd long gotten used to now overbearing, only adding to the heaviness in his limbs.

Razor stops moving for a moment, panting as he leans against it, his arms and legs trembling. Closing his eyes Razor whimpers, swallowing hard when the world tilts before his eyes and he tastes his dinner at the back of his throat bitter and hot.

Razor just wanted, no, he needed it to stop fear and panic surging through him as he managed to stumble his way out of the cave. The once familiar, comforting scenery of the forest now a dizzying swirl of colors before his eyes.

The way the world is swaying before his eyes and seemingly tilting beneath his feet has Razor gagging, the gags turn wet after a moment or two and Razor retches coughing as a trickle of bile falls from his lips painting the ground at his feet with murky pinkish-brown liquid.

He can just about make out Mondtsadt's towering gray wall in the far distance across the enormous lake of blue that he recognizes as water.

It's right there, hell he can literally see it, but he can't reach it. Not in this condition anyway, it's too far away.

He coughs wiping at his mouth trying to get rid of the sour, bitter taste of bile coating his tongue like poison. There was another village closer than Mondstadt, Springvale, but Razor wasn't sure he could trust the people there.

After the incident where they claimed he and his Lupical attacked the village, he was wary of them, frequently staying outside of town whenever Bennett needed to stop there for something.

Swallowing hard, Razor begins walking, still tasting his dinner burning and bubbling at the back of his throat. What would normally be a relatively short trip for him seems near impossible now in his current condition.

The familiar pathways he long memorized, nothing but a swirling mess of colors that left him disoriented and confused, his eyes narrowing as he tried to focus them.

Razor doesn't know how far he gets or how long he'd been staggering along on his trembling limbs but he is exhausted.

He stumbles, his legs feeling as though he's suddenly disappeared and falls. He feels something sharp brush against his skin and hears a rustling over the loud buzzing noise in his ears.

It takes Razor a moment but he eventually realizes, almost numbly, that he's fallen into a bush. He tries to push himself up again but the violent trembling of his limbs combined with the way the world is swirling before his eyes makes that impossible, and he lurches forward with a strangle retch barely able to whimper before a loud wet burp has thick, slightly watery wave vomit gurgling up his throat.

His dinner from last night tastes absolutely disgusting coming up, the almost sour rancid taste of half-digested meat combined with bitter taste bile only serves to make him retch again.

It burns his throat and mouth and leaves his stomach sore, Razor absolutely hates it right along with everything else that's currently happening right now.

Razor falls to his side, gasping as he chokes up another wave of vomit adding to the lumpy, sludge-like slurry at his side.

Wrapping his trembling arms around his stomach Razor whimpers again, a loud almost desperate sound incredibly similar to an injured dog. It won't stop, the pain just won't stop, he hates it, it's terrifying.

He cracks his eyes open slightly, not remembering even closing them when he feels something cold and wet nudge his cheek, hot breath fanning across his face as a soft faint whine enters his ears.

Razor weakly reaches up, fingers fumbling blindly in the air until he feels familiar soft, warm fur beneath his hands, wolf fur to be exact.

He smiled slightly, giving the wolf still nudging him a gentle squeeze as dark spots filled his vision blocking out the sunlight.

Razor coughed, retching again his body bringing up whatever he has left in his stomach at this point which isn't much and he hears either himself or the wolf whimper.

The animal pawed at him, mildly aware that something was wrong.

Razor feels as though he can't breathe, despite the ragged breaths he's taking it feels as though none of the air is actually entering his lungs.

More black spots fill his vision, and seconds later the world seems to fall away, vanishing as he loses consciousness.

Bennett hummed to himself as he approached the path for Wolvendom, while he'd agreed to meet Razor in Springvale as it was closer he also knew just how much the other boy disliked the area. Frequently grimacing whenever he saw Bennett heading there while they were out on their adventures together.

Admittedly when he found out why Razor suddenly seemed to have an adverse reaction to the village he couldn't help but be mad. Although he also knew that many of the villagers were good people despite a few bad apples among them.

Wolvendom seems abnormally peaceful and quiet today, and Bennett frowns as he came to his and Razor's new meeting spot. Razor wasn't there, which was abnormal considering it was like Razor had a clock with him but the other tended to be very aware of the different times during a day, having told Bennett that certain birds helped him remember what time it was.

If there were blue birds chirping then it was morning, ravens and crows typically appeared during midday and owls only appeared late at night.

It's fine, typically whenever Razor was running late it was either because he was doing his rounds and making sure the wolves were okay or because he was hunting more meat. Although sometimes it was because he was bringing Bennett a few flowers or herbs he'd found as a gift like he usually did.

And so Bennett intends to wait for a bit, at least until he hears something that sounds like barking in the distance. He also hears the rustling of bushes and the sounds of footsteps rapidly approaching.

Reaching for his sword Bennett freezes in anticipation as he stares in the direction the noise had come from. It was probably a wolf or two chasing a slime or hilichurl which wasn't the least bit uncommon out here, but it was better to be safe than sorry for Bennett especially considering his luck.

So Bennett is slightly surprised when a wolf with brownish fur darts from the bushes. It doesn't attack him, instead, it runs around Bennett in a circle barking at him.

"Hey big guy, have you seen Razor?" He asked, chuckling, and the wolf barked as if saying yes. "Can you go get him for me?"

However the wolf doesn't leave, instead, it jumps up, pawing at Bennett's clothes whining as its tail wags almost frantically and its ears lay flat against its head. The wolf almost looks worried and Bennett can't help but wonder if something's wrong.

He kneels down resting his hands on the wolf's hunches and gives it a once over. But it doesn't seem wounded, or injured although it does have old scars dotting its skin.

The wolves in Wolvendom tended to be shy, frequently running away from new people unless Razor was with that person, so for the wolf to be all over him like this something had to be wrong.

But it wasn't wounded. So what?

"Are your pups hurt? If that's what's wrong, show me where," he told the wolf hoping it understands.

It seemingly does, darting towards the bushes it had emerged from whining practically leaping in place as it waited for Bennett to follow.

And he does, eager as always to help, although as he follows the wolf further into Wolvendom he slows his pace hearing a faint whimpering noise incredibly similar to an injured dog or wolf.

The wolf stopped in front of some bushes jumping in place as it barked.

Bennett quickly approaches the area, it's the same place that the soft whimpering is coming from. Bennett expects to find a sick or injured wolf pup when he moves the bushes aside.

He does not expect to find Razor, collapsed practically face down on the ground whimpering softly in between the ragged breaths leaving his mouth, and arm wrapped around his stomach, his skin pale and what looked like vomit on his lips and in a puddle beside him.

For a moment Bennett just stands there eyes wide in stunned shock as he slowly blinks. Then he's at Razor's side in an instant, his body moving as if on autopilot as he quickly checks Razor for injuries.

He finds none but does notice that Razor's skin is hot, burning almost to the touch.

Bennett gives a small sigh of relief, Razor wasn't injured at least but he did seem to be sick, very sick if his fever was anything to go by.

Either way, Razor clearly needs help, he carefully picks Razor up his worry only growing when Razor's body jolts and he retches softly, choking up a small wave of bile all over Bennett's clothes, his face pinching in pain.

"Razor? Don't worry, you're gonna be okay, " Bennett said, as cheerfully as he can manage, he's not even sure if Razor can hear him. But if there's a chance he can, Bennett wants to make sure he isn't scared by what's currently happening.

Bennett takes a step forward then freezes his eyes going wide as the sky seems to suddenly open up without warning, raining pouring down like a waterfall.

Muttering a soft curse under his breath Bennett bites his lip, his thoughts flying a mile a minute as the freezing cold rain pelts his skin. He wants to take Razor or Mondstadt where Barbara can heal him or at least Springvale, but with the weather like this, he also knows that the trip would be even more dangerous.

He obviously couldn't leave Razor here in his condition, so what could he do? That's when it dawns on him and he looks down the trail that leads further into Wolvendom.

The wolf of the north, Lupus Boreas. While Bennett had never had the chance to meet the great beast himself, he'd heard tales of him from both the Traveler and Razor. The enormous wolf often looked out for Razor despite his harsh words, he should be able to help and Bennett could always leave Razor with him while he went to get Barbara if the wolf couldn't heal Razor.

Bennett moves quickly yet carefully as he makes his way down the pathway, doing his best to be mindful of his footing. The area leading up to Lupus Boreas's territory is imposing large claw marks raking the stone walls, trees crumpled like paper.

The great wolf's den is more reminiscent of a stone arena rather than a cave and as Bennett enters it a loud thunderous voice seems to echo out around him. The temperature seems to drop, turning frigid almost freezing, to the point where, when combined with the rain Bennett's limbs begin to turn numb, his teeth chattering.

"What do you seek human? Why do you enter my domain lest you seek a challenge." A loud voice echoes out as the eyes on the wolf carving on the stone wall lit up.

Fog seemed to fill the arena, clouding it as the rain abruptly stopped, then from the fog emerged Lupus Boreas frost rolling off of his form, the enormous white and blue wolf slowly approaching Bennett.

Bennett takes a step forward still shivering, his eyes wide and frantic. "I don't want to fight! It's Razor, something's wrong with him," Bennett explained quickly.

At that the old wolf pauses, turning his head slightly as his gaze goes to Razor still clutched in Bennett's arms. The wolf gives a low hum as he lays down in front of Bennett and leans forward slightly to get a better look at Razor.

Bennett doesn't know what to expect but it sure isn't for Lupus Boreas to give Razor's body a slight nudge with his nose as if trying to rouse him. "You found him in this state?"

Bennett nodded quickly. "I think he's sick, I need to get a healer from Mondstadt."

While Bennett could heal it was only injuries and nothing compared to what Barbara could do. The girl could ease sickness as well as healing injuries, in terms of healing he was nowhere near her equal and Bennett knew this.

Lupus Boreas shakes his head, however. "It is neither sickness nor injury, the scent of poison cloaks him."

"P-poison," Bennett exclaimed, eyes wide. But who would poison Razor? Had it been poison meant from one of the wolves and somehow Razor had gotten ahold of it? Bennett had no clue.

He jumps slightly when Lupus Boreas moves, sitting up, one of his large paws swiftly tapping the ground causing a large rectangular block of ice to rise from the spot. "Place him there, the poison is terrible but not fatal to humans."

"Really?" Bennett whispered as he placed Razor down as Lupus Boreas had instructed.

Razor gives a soft whimper, his eyes cracking open slightly as ragged breaths leave his mouth. He coughs his body jolting as he gags softly but brings up hardly anything up besides a small amount of bile and drool.

"Yes, birds eat the unripened berries. They are sweet during this time, and poisonous, a wolf ingests them when hunting birds becomes ill," Lupus Boreas explained his attention on Razor. "Gather wolf hook, mint, sweet flower and water go," he orders not turning to Bennett as Razor begins coughing once more in between his soft whimpering.

"And he'll be okay?" Bennett asked frantically. But the wolf doesn't answer him, merely staring at Razor.

Despite knowing Razor was now in safe hands and would be okay, Bennett was still hesitant to leave. Poisonous berries, why had Razor eaten them? Bennett was so sure he and Lisa had shown Razor which plants and fruits were safe to eat. Was it Bennett's fault somehow? It wouldn't be the first time his bad luck affected his loved ones.

"The longer you wait the more he shall suffer, go now," The wolf orders his tone becoming a bit sharper, his eyes narrowing as he finally looks at Bennett.

Bennett merely nodded before rushing off to gather what Lupus Boreas had told him to. He was still chilled to the bone his limbs numb and trembling from the cold but compared to what Razor was currently going through.

When Bennett returns Razor is awake now, his eyes lazily roving around the area, although when they land on Bennett a small tired smile appears on Razor's face, relief clear in his eyes.

"Ben...nett," he rasped, ragged breaths st.

"H-hey Razor, don't worry. It's going to be alright, I promise. I'm right here," Bennett reassured him, giving the best smile he can manage. Turning to Lupus Boreas, Bennett looks up at him. "What do I need to do now?"

Lupus Boreas taps the ground with a single claw creating a small bowl of ice at Bennett's feet. "Mix them, until they are paste then feed them to Razor," he instructs before turning his gaze back to Razor.

The boy isn't looking at him, however, his gaze entirely on Bennett as he works. At one point Razor reaches out, his fingers fumbling as he grabs Bennett's arm with one hand in a loose grip.

The other boy glances up at him but doesn't stop grinding up the plants and berries, although he does speak. "Razor, why did you eat poisonous berries?"

Razor frowns seemingly searching his thoughts for a moment before he slowly blinks. "Berries good, sweet, and pink," Razor told him.

At that Bennett freezes for a moment before continuing his work. "They weren't safe, if they were you wouldn't be like this," he pointed out.

Razor shakes his head slightly, stopping when the world tilts leaving him dizzy and gagging. "Saw Bennett eat, they safe. Bennett is fine."

Bennett froze, slowly turning to Razor with wide eyes. He had a pretty good idea of what berries Razor was talking about from both his and Lupus Boreas's descriptions. Those berries were ones that had a sour taste rather than a sweet one when ripe, and they were typically ripe in the summer, not the spring which it currently was.

So it was his fault Razor was like this. If he had told him, warned him then maybe this wouldn't have happened. No Bennett was sure it wouldn't have.

Biting his lip Bennett slowly nods as he reaches out, grabbing the hand Razor had on his arm and lacing their fingers together, giving Razor's hand a gentle squeeze. "That's right, I am fine. And I promise I'll make sure you will be too."
