seunghee
9:18 am
the contorted face of worry and confusion that had landed on jimin’s face was one to laugh at. but in the circumstances that he had no idea about, seunghee was not laughing.
she was letting her hair slide in front of her rosy cheeks and puffy, swelled and sleep deprived eyes. her shoulders no longer occupied proudly the space in line with her back but dipped and dripped down to hang dumbly at her sides as she gently let her bottom lip jut out ever so slightly.
jimin leaned forward from his position on the counter and stood up to be a little above eye level with her.
he thought for a moment before platonically tucking her hair behind her ear and placing his hand under her chin to force her dark circle eyes to look into his pillowy cloud ones that seemed to make her want to smile, but not all the way.
he frowned at her, then leaned all the way over the counter, wrapping his arms around the barista protectively.
despite only knowing each other for a short amount of time, the two had quickly realized how comfortable they were with each other and the embrace wasn’t awkward or uncalled for.
the wilted petal with sweetened fingertips and darkened edges crumbled a bit into the boy whose arms encircled her. she hooked her chin over his bony shoulder and breathed in the detergent smell from his shirt and the expensive cologne he wore.
“i made a mistake jiminie,” she spoke, breaking the frozen lake of silence that had flooded their ankles.
“i told him no, when i wanted to say yes. and now he won’t even come in to see me anymore. i want him back. other than you, i don’t have anyone here. i don’t have a roommate to paint my nails and fold my laundry with, i don’t have a sister to call when i can’t remember how to do my makeup, i don’t have parents that look forward to my calls every weekend. i’m lonely and he had fixed that, but now i’ve pushed him away and he’s gone.” she quietly whispered out, sniffling into her cotton candy support system.
“oh love, what happened?” he asked gently, trying to understand why they were in the situation at hand.
her arms slid down from their position on pinky’s back, landing on the counter as the other pulled away slowly.
“well, i had this really great friend right? we would talk everyday and i told him things about me that i’ve never told anyone else because i trusted him and i had started to like him more than a friend but when i learned that he felt the same way and he asked me out on a date, i said no. i said no because i didn’t want to burden him with all my sappy problems and extra jobs and lack of money. which was stupid because he already knows all of this about me and i don’t think he would have asked if he didn’t know what he was signing up for, but i said no anyways because i let my doubts take control and now he won’t come in to see me and i’m worried about him.”
jimin stared at the sagging willow girl, cooing at her as he frowned. the situation was strikingly similar to that of jungkooks and jimin wondered what it was with his friends and having relationship issues.
he couldn’t be happier with his boyfriend yoongi and hoped this wasn’t something that was going around like the flu and it was just his two friends who were going through similar struggles coincidentally at the same.
his hand reached out to tuck itself beneath her chin, lifting it slightly to see her looking glass eyes.
“seunghee, if you really miss him that much, go to him and tell him. i’m sure this guy will give you a second chance if he really wants to be with you,” the little cotton candy angel spoke softly.
“you really think he will?” she asked, a fraction of a spark lighting up her irises for a millisecond.
"i mean, i don’t know what kind of guy he is but he would be stupid to say no.” jimin flashed his eye smile at the smooshy girl behind the counter and she couldn’t help but grin back.
“thank you jiminie, i don’t know what i’d do without you. but, speaking of relationships, how’s yoongi?”
jimins face flushed with red and contorted into a whipped smile as his eyes momentarily turned into hearts when he thought of the older.
seunghee and jimin fell back into one of their usual gossip and tea spilling conversations full of twinkling giggles and exaggerated gasps with periodic sips of coffee before jimin made his way out of the shop with this two beverages.
