a few days had gone by of the cotton candy haired boy making his way into the coffee shop around the same time everyday and ordering the same two, sometimes three, drinks.
she still wondered who they went to, worrying and hoping the ball of energy that bought them wasn’t the one who drank all of them.
those few days soon had soon turned into a week and the part time barista with a dripping heart had found a friend in the pink prince who visited her with a smile every morning.
she’d grown used to his bouncy steps and his small hands that grabbed the cups from the counter but longed for someone else to stride through the glass door.
she longed for glassy doe eyes and a feathery coconut head of hair with clumsy steps that seemed so uneven but made such smooth movements and long bony fingers with smooth warm skin that grazed her fingertips while exchanging change or cups of coffee.
as much as she valued that she was getting closer to cotton candy boy, she wanted him back.
she wanted their innocent chit-chat about how messy her hair was at 1am and his loud yawns that always came during the middle of a word and their helpless blushy cheeks that filled with red when they smiled at each other.
she had attempted to tune into the station that he was still broadcasting on, but opted to listen to his music rather than his voice as she didn’t want to give herself the false sense of reality that he was standing right in front of her.
the bubble gum boy opened the door to the coffee shop and made his way inside, there were no other customers for some reason, but he’s figured out that this was normal for tuesday mornings. it was as if everyone had a class but the few key people who walked by.
jimin made his way over to the counter, resting his elbows on the hard surface and watching as his new friend spaced out from behind the counter, looking like her eyes were about to burn a hole in the wall next to a picture of a coffee shop aesthetic photo of a bowl of sugar, tilted to the side so that the tini ganuales spilled over a wooden table, fanning out in a spilt milk kind of shape.
he looked at her and scrunched his eyebrows together clearing his throat before speaking
"y'know if you stare at it long enough its just gonna fall off the wall." his snarky remark broke her gaze from the picture and he chuckled when her eyes widened at his presence.
"oh, hey jiminie," she mumbled.
she then let her eyes fall back to the sugar, allowing her long lost sugar boy to melt back into her mind.
jimin cleared his throat again, "hey, did you sleep at all last night? you look like you rolled out of bed ten minutes ago and have been staring at that frame since you got here." he said, starting to be a bit concerned for his new barista bestie.
her gaze never moved from its position.
"I miss him," her eyes blinked once and jumped to land on pinky.
his face was folded into a paper crane in confusion, "I miss him, jiminie."
