jungkook
6:04 pm
the yellow sun was no longer a lemon shade as it melted into the surrounding clouds. it seemed as if it was slowly dripping down into a sunbeam river that babbled on top of the waves of the ocean that jungkook and seunghee sat in front of.
the dark clouds that were inevitably coming, seem far off in the distance as their sandy toes curled into the flannel blanket that wrinkled beneath them as their knees knocked slightly.
jungkook’s elbows that he was leaning back on, gave out, and he fell back, his fluffy hair poofing around his head on the red and black blanket. seunghee soon followed suit, landing on his outstretched arm that curled around her shoulders and tugged her into the warm body next to her as the sea breeze brew by.
he landed a soft kiss on her cheek and she snuggled further into him, turning her face to catch his lips with her own.
it sounded like the perfect scene from your favorite romance movie where the guy gets the girl and they sit on the beach with a perfect breeze while the cameras pan out and you see their children splash around in the water and everything is just picture perfect, and to be completely honest, that's what the jogger that had just ran by them thought, but that was far from the case.
not only did they not have children, but this wasn’t your perfect romance scene, because just as jungkook looked up with a peaceful smile on his face, the sunbeam river was gone, replaced by a grey blanket that seemed to have shown up out of nowhere as the sky got jealous of the two young lovers and decided now was the perfect time for her pity party, starting with a clash of thunder that had the two jumping from their blanket and running to his car just as the clouds parted and bawled their eyes out on the once warm and dry sand they were surrounded by.
“well that was unexpected,” jungkook breathed out with a chuckle, looking out at the sloshing water as the rain pelted into the windshield of his car.
“it was, wasn’t it,” seunghee replied, a bit taken aback but the downpour that she had no idea about.
“i guess mother nature decided that one hour at the beach is all we get today,” jungkook reached over the console and grabbed seunghee’s hand, flipping it over to lace his fingers in her own.
she hummed and tightened their hands together on her knee, “well, at least your car is dry, and warm, and smells like apples, which is surprising as i did see your gym bag in the back seat,” she giggled.
“hey! i may sweat when i work out but i take pride in my car not smelling like the locker room whenever i leave my bag in here. but i swear it’s because hoseok is like a laundry fiend, he does landry like every three days. it’s unnatural and kinda weird, but it keeps my stuff clean too.”
jungkook’s tangent had seunghee laughing as she imagined the boys roomate the way he described him, “well, tell him i thank him for his hobby,” she laughed out.
jungkook though for a second, “come to think of it though, jimin is worse. i swear he sweats way more than me when we practice together but i’ve been to his apartment and it’s like his socks don’t even smell after he goes for a run, it’s unbelievable.”
jungkook gawked, then continued, “you should meet him some time, i bet you’d get along with him well.”
“well, i’ve got a friend named jimin as well and you should meet him, he’s pretty much my only friend outside of you. he gave me some pretty good advice, i bet you’d like him too.” seunghee smiled thinking of her cotton candy haired friend and looking over at jungkook who grinned at her and nodded in agreement.
