Chapter 1: Breaking Point
Ever since I was twelve I felt as if everyone was expecting me to be someone. Be the guy with the perfect muscles and the bravery to boot. Who always gets the girl and always wins the battle. And ever since then I've tried to keep up that expectation. To be what everyone wants to see instead of who I want to be. That is in tell I met Jason Grace. I fell for him. Hard. I knew that everyone would never look at me the same if I admitted my feelings so I kept them inside and continued to date Annabeth. Besides, Jason was straight and in love with Piper McLean. Like me he was what everyone expected to see. A handsome hero with everything and the girl. Your typical fairy tale hero. I knew that's what he truly was too. He could never date me so I kept my walls up and continued to pretend to be someone else for the sake of what I'm supposed to be. The hero of olympus, Perseus Jackson, son of Posiedon.
Now here I am, staring at Jason's glistening abs like an idiot. I shook my head and tried to avert my gaze to avoid prying eyes. He was beautiful, with his sky blue eyes shining against the sun and his slightly dishevled blonde hair. He was panting as he sparred with someone I wasn't paying attention to. I pretended to look bored and uninterested. Suddenly Jason was standing in front of me. Glistening abs and all. He had a smirk on his face and a michevious glint in his eye.
"Wanna spar with me Jackson?" he asked.
"Only if you're prepared to lose" I said in return.
We faced each other with our weapons ready by our side. I knew Jason's strategy's all too well. I knew right away that he'd come at me full force for his first attack, his sword in the air for a direct attack. I knew that it would be best to dodge instead of block so you could get a good opening before his next attack. Before he could try another attack I catched my first opening to get him with the flat of my sword but he quickly blocked me from the side. Are swords pushed against each other in tell we both gave in and I held my sword back on my side trying to predict his next move. It's more likely that he'd go for something more unpredictable after his last attack. My theory was proven correct as I saw him go for my legs instead of the upper half of my body. I jumped before he could make me trip and hit his gladius with my own blade before he could make any further attempts. Well are weapons were still pressed together I took this as a moment to get him well he's distracted so I hit his leg with my foot just enough to get him to lose balance and then used that as an opening to hit him with my sword and watch him fall to the ground. With that I pressed the hilt of my sword against his neck so he couldn't get up again. I smiled in satisfaction.
"Nice job Jackson but I bet you weren't expecting this". And with that he switched our positions and tackled me to the ground, using one hand to pin the hand with the sword in it down and the other to press his gladius against my neck. I felt my body heat up as he pressed his own body against me and leaned in closer. He pressed his lips against my ear and whispered "Looks like I win now". I shivered at the feeling of his breath against my ear. I couldn't take this any more. I pushed Jason off of me and ran without looking back, my face hot and wet with tears. I slammed my cabin door and curled up in a ball, completely and utterly broken.
