"Fine! Because you missed it Naruto, everyone will review the transformation Jutsu." Iruka-Sensei yelled to the entire class.

There were lots of grumbles and groans plus some sly comments about Naruto.

"I feel bad for Naruto. He's always singled out. No one ever wants to be friends with him." Amika said quietly to Kassi as she and the rest of their classmates lined up. She didn't really pay any attention to the others while waiting for her turn. She looked up at her friend and stared for a second before rolling her eyes and shaking her head.

"Are you serious? Almost all the time it's his fault he's singled out, he does dumb stuff." She said but Amika shook her head this time.

"Yeah well, he probably wants to get noticed. Nobody pays him any attention otherwise. Sometimes I wanna go over there and be his friend."

Right before Kassi could respond, at the front of the line Naruto had made Iruka-Sensei mad with his sexy jutsu so basically he was distracted again.

"Yeah, until he does more stupid stuff like that." She said while giving her friend a small smirk and then it was Amika's turn to roll her eyes.

"Naruto! Hey, wait up!" Amika yelled as she chased the retreating figure of the blonde haired boy. Kassi sighed quietly but still chased after her. It wasn't because she wanted to see what would happen, but mainly because her and Amika always hung out after classes, and then she would always walk her home.

...Not that it truly mattered to the shorter girl though...

Naruto stopped and turned to face both of them with a confused expression, though it turned into a small blush when he realized it was Kassi and Amika. 'Those pretty girls from class wanna talk to me!' He exclaimed in his thoughts.

"Y-Yes?" He asked and Amika took his hand and he turned super red. She looked at him seriously.

"We wanna be your friends." Amika didn't show any hesitation or waver in her voice and it completely took Naruto off guard.

"What?!" He yelped before looking at Kassi, but she wasn't any help. Her face was turned away and she was covering her mouth to try and hide that she was secretly laughing. Not only was Amika's straightforwardness hilarious, but his reaction was also too. She hated laughing in public so she was trying to hide it. Though no one could hear her, if they even saw her face they would be able to tell.

"Cute." He said quietly, but since no one else was talking, they both heard it. Kassi looked up at him in surprise with a small blush dusting her cheeks while Amika looked back at her. She looked at Kassi for a second and Naruto was still staring before she turned back to him.

"Look here Naruto, don't go trying to steal my little sister, understand?" She asked and Naruto looked confused.

"You guys are sisters? I never knew that!" He yelled and Kassi internally rolled her eyes but just smiled and shook her head.

"Don't be silly Naruto, we aren't real sisters, we're just so close that we consider ourselves to be sisters. If we're being completely honest I'm actually older than Amy." She smiled until Naruto made a thinking face and asked a small, "Really?"

Immediately her entire demeanor changed and a dark aura came around her as she stared him down. "Why is that hard to believe? Is it because I'm SHORT?" She asked and he quickly shook his head and backed away from the now scary girl.

"No no, you just, she just, not that you're short, she's just, she's just tall. Amika is taller than me actually, she's probably older than me too." He exclaimed while talking really fast, unsure of how to make her stop looking at him scarily.

Amika giggled and then took her sister's hand, she didn't immediately stop glaring at him but eventually she did after a few seconds.

"Actually Naruto everyone in our class is older than me. I'm the youngest. I know it's hard to believe because I'm one of the tallest girls in our class, but some of the other kids call me baby sometimes." She smiled but he stared at her and shook his head.

"They shouldn't call you things that you don't wanna be called." He said in a soft tone, but they both could hear the seriousness in his voice. It piqued Kassi's interest and she stared at his face which didn't seem to have any emotion unlike before.

"It's fine Naruto! Besides, I know that you get called way worse." She said, obviously not wanting Naruto, of all people, to pity her.

"That doesn't change the fact that you don't want them to. I know it happens to you too Kassi. People call you short and tiny and stuff like that even when you sometimes ask them nicely to stop. It's wrong. And even if it happens to me it shouldn't happen to you." He said and looked at both of them intensely. Kassi was really surprised. She never expected someone like him to really notice or care about name-calling. Or to have such a strong opinion about it. But it kinda made sense because it was a part of his daily life. Maybe she was wrong about him.

"Do you- Do you wanna be our friend Naruto? Not! That I really care much either way." She asked and quickly looked away from him. Amika smiled brightly when she heard her since Kassi normally hated talking to people, and never asked to be someone's friend before. Especially not someone she called an idiot over a thousand times.

He looked at her while Kassi kept looking away hiding her blush and he couldn't help but brightly smile back and chuckle. "I'd be glad to be your friend!"

"What was that about earlier?" Amika asked her friend while they both sat by the big old tree near her house. They spent a lot of their time there, mainly just talking. It was their special place that no one else was allowed into.

"What are you talking about Amy?" Kassi asked as she traced patterns on the tree. Amika smiled and slowly took her hands away from the tree so she could face her.

"I thought I was the one who really wanted to be Naruto's friend, but after one conversation with him and you were quick to ask." She chuckled as she watched her little sister start to blush before turning away.

"Well you had already asked, I was just restating the question so he could answer." She said simply before going back to tracing patterns.

"Of course. He's too much of an idiot for you to want to be real friends with him right?" She asked and Kassi faltered in her tracing before turning back to her.

"Well, maybe he's not... as much of an idiot as I thought. Besides! Us being his friend is for him, because he's lonely, and you were nice enough to offer. Otherwise, I wouldn't even have thought about being his friend, because the only friend I need is you." She was quiet at first but as she finished her sentence she stated it confidently and Amika looked at her with a really goofy smile and small stars in her eyes.

"My little sister is sooooo cute!" She exclaimed before pulling her into a hug while the other girl gasped in shock before trying to get away from her.

"Amy! I'm not cute, and stop hugging me like this!"

Timeskip to Iruka picking Squads

"I wonder if we'll get put on the same team as Naruto?" Amika said while he was listing off squads but Kassi just shrugged and stared at the table.

"I dunno. How're you even sure that we'll be on the same team?" She asked her quietly while fidgetting her fingers. Amika quickly took her hand and smiled brightly at her little sister.

"Because we're Kass and Amy, the best sisters ever. Iruka-Sensei would be crazy to separate us. We work best when we're together too." She said and said girl couldn't help but smile back at her. Behind them both almost everyone had noticed the cute moment between them before it was interrupted by Iruka calling the next squad.

"Squad 7 is Naruto Uzumaki, Sakura Haruno, and Sasuke Uchiha." He said and Kassi watched as Amika slightly deflated next to her, and she was going to try her best to cheer her up, but it took her only a second before she was smiling again.

"This just means we'll be making a new friend. Now I'm excited. We don't really talk to the others in our class." She said with a nod and Kassi sighed. Now she actually wished Naruto was on their team. She didn't want to go through with making 'a new friend.' Iruka went through the list before finally reaching their names.

"Squad 14 will be, Kassi Himehori, Amika Matafumi, and Ikebashi Ryumei." The young prodigy blinked while Amika just hugged her excitedly. Kassi's eyes traveled across the room to the boy. She knew him, but never really cared for him. The way he spoke just always annoyed her even though they never had a real conversation. At least now she didn't have to worry about making a new friend, because she already knew that Ikebashi would not become her friend, at least not any time soon.
