"Aren't you going to eat, (Y/n)?" (Y/n)'s mother asks worriedly.

"N-No. I'm not very hungry." (Y/n) states looking down at her hands which were fiddling with each other.

"But, (Y/n), I made your favorite. Mashed potatoes, corn, and (f/f)."

"I-I'm just not hungry."She says.

"But, honey, you barely took one bite in any of your food."

"I said I'm not HUNGRY!" (Y/n) shouts in anger clenching her fists.

Her mother looks at her in shock. (Y/n)'s eyes had anger in them. "What's the matter?" Her mother asks.

"It's nothing."She stammered.

"Tch. Right. That's what they always say." I say as I put a spoon of mashed potato into my mouth.

Reader's POV
I could feel my anger rising. Not only Levi's statement made me angry, it was that they were going to move in with us. "You might as well eat at least." Levi adds.

"Why would you care?"I ask.

"Because you might starve and that would be a bad way to start being a 'step-brother'."

"Aw. That's nice, Levi." My mother says. I clench my jaws together.

"I'm gonna got to my room." I say angrily.

I stand up but before I could go to my room, Levi grabs a hold of my arm and holds it tightly in his grip, "Sit down and eat."

"Why should I?" I snap. He gives me his death glare.

"Sit down and eat before I shove the food down your throat." He threatens me.

"Yeah right. Let go of me." I demand.

He stands up and grabs a roll of bread and shoves it into my mouth, "Eat." He says. Not gentle at all.

I look around the dinner table and see my mother looking at me with sad eyes. And I see Derrick looking at Levi, "Easy on her, Levi."

"If she can just fucking eat." Levi says carelessly.

I never declined my mother's food before. And I didn't want to hurt her feelings. I felt ashamed of myself as a few tear drops fell from my eyes and started munching on the piece of bread, making little whimpering sounds. I also did it so Levi could let me go.

He let go of me, but still holding the bread in my mouth, "Are you going to eat your food now?" He asks impatiently. I slowly nod. He let's go of the bread and sits back down. I take the bread out of my mouth. I had only eaten like 2/3 of it.

I slowly ate. Still a few drops of tears were rolling down my cheeks. My mother and John were the only ones talking. Talking to each other while Levi and I just sat and ate to ourselves. And I could've sworn that our knees kept touching. And I was sure Levi had noticed that too because he moved his chair a few centimeters away.

After dinner, I helped clean up and surprisingly, Levi insisted on washing the dishes. I dried the dishes while John offered to put away the dishes after they were dried. I had to admit, Levi did a pretty good job washing the dishes.

The frying pan, the burn marks on the bottom were barely there. And it only took him 2 minutes. After cleaning, our guests were heading for the door as we followed them.

"I'll see you in a couple of weeks." John says giving my mom a kiss. Leaving both me and Levi with the same expression, "ew...." But both of us were both happy that both of our parents are happy with each other.

But we were both not happy that we were going to be step brother and sister. Before they leave, Levi grabs a hold of my arm, "The house better be spotless when I move in. Because if it isn't, I'm going to make you scrub the floors. Every. Single. Day. Until you learn how to clean up after yourself." He threatens me in a whisper so our parents wouldn't hear. That makes me roll my eyes.

"Whatever." I whisper back. He lets go of me. And they both leave.

"Well, wasn't this a fun night?" She asks cheerfully.

"Yeah," I say, "Oh so much fun~!"I say in a sarcastic tone.

She gives me a look. A look of worrisome, "What was all that not wanting to eat dinner, (Y/n)?" She ask.

"I-It's nothing, mom. Don't worry about it." I say walking away.

"Is this about them moving in with us?" I stop in my tracks. That's exactly why.

I sigh, "Yes, but it's also about-"

"Your father?" She asks finishing my sentence.

I scratch the back of my neck, "Y-Yeah."

"I'm sorry, (Y/n). You're father was the most loving and caring man I have ever met." She says apologetically.

"I-I know." I could feel the tears behind my eyes. Just thinking of my father leaving us was just too painful to rethink.

"I know it could be.. Hard, for you to get used to new family members. Especially Levi, but at least cares about you eating." She say encouragingly. I don't even know why Levi even cared about me not eating. He didn't seem to care the way he grabbed my arm and how he just shoved that roll of bread into my mouth.

"You can get used to him. Just get to know him better. And see how it turns out." She says. I nod. I head upstairs into my room and lay down on my bed with my head on the pillow. I felt a few tears roll down my cheek.

'Why Levi?' I ask myself. 'Why do they expect me and Levi to get along. He hates me. And so do I...' A few more years streamed down my cheeks. I wasn't crying. They were just bawling out of my eyes. 'Why did you have to leave, dad.....'
