Chapter 20
"Hey, Dog! Is this your house? Awww too bad." An all too familiar voice calls out from a car that had stopped on the road. The passengers all start to laugh.
"Oh, no." Avi whispers as he sees Mitch Grassi and his gang.
"Get the Hell out of here." Tim says angrily.
"Or what? You can't do anything. We're minors." Grassi laughs.
"I happen to know that Hoying is 19. That's not a minor and I'm this far," Tim growls as he holds up his fingers measuring about an inch. "From kicking his f*cking ass."
"Chill Foust." Mitch says.
"That's MISTER FOUST to you! You sorry ass little punk." Tim says with gritted teeth as he starts toward their car. He had just lost his house and just about everything he had owned. He was definitely not in the mood to mess with any low-life bullies. Especially when they are bullying his girlfriend's little brother.
"Go! Go! Go!" Grassi yells as Scott puts the car in drive and speeds away.
"Wow, that was pretty cool, Tim." Avi says with a smile.
"I get tired of their sh*t." Tim says as he pitches a board to the side. "They just need to grow up. I'm in no mood to f*ck with their bullsh*t today."
Esther walks over and rubs Tim on the back in an attempt to calm him down. Tim hangs his head and sighs heavily.
"I'm sorry, guys. I shouldn't have used such language." Tim says.
"Seriously." Kirstie chuckles. "Bubba, I've heard worst coming from you."
"You don't have to apologize, Tim." Avi says shaking his head. "They're dickheads."
"Avriel Benjamin." Esther scolds in a playful manner.
"Well, I think we've gotten everything that's gettable." Tim says, wiping his hands on his pants legs.
"At least you have clothes now. We'll just have to get them washed before they start mildewing." Esther says as Tim takes the bag from her and helps her out of the fallen house.
"Kirst, you and Avi need to come back to the house too." Tim says as he puts the bags that they had collected into the back of Esther's truck. "Those punks are out on the road somewhere and they know Avi is with you. They may try to do something."
"I don't like being in town anyway." Avi says, wiping his hands on something he had pulled from the rubble. "I feel safer at home."
"Uh, You know that's one of my shirts, right?" Tim smiles as he takes it out of Avi's hands.
"Oh." Avi giggles. "Sorry."
"We need to see if there were any damage at our house. I didn't even think to check when we left this morning." Esther says as she gets into the passenger side of her truck. "Kirstie, you need to check your house too. I know the tornado didn't hit us but those were some strong winds."
"We'll run by and check." Kirstie says as she and Avi get into her car.
"Don't take too long. I'll be worried." Esther says.
"Yes, mother." Avi smirks.

Esther immediately began to wash Tim's clothes after they get home. Kirstie offers to take some with her to her house and wash them. But Esther wouldn't hear of it. She wanted to take care of her man.
Tim walks around the property looking for any kind of damage to the house.
Kirstie and Avi go to her house to do the same. Finding only limbs and branches scattering the yard. The house was fine.
They arrive back at Esther's house, Kirstie goes inside to help Esther as Avi stays outside to help Tim clean up the yard. They walk into the back yard to check on things. Avi sees that his workshop was unharmed by the storm. But the roof of their storage shed was badly damaged by the wind.
Tim and Avi surveyed the damage to see what they would need to fix it.
"Well, what's the verdict?" Esther asks as the two guys walk back into the house.
"Part of the storage shed's roof is missing." Avi says as he goes to the refrigerator to get something to drink.
"How much do you think it'll cost to fix it?" Esther asks with a worried tone.
"Maybe not anything. I mean, as you saw there is plenty of lumber at my place that we might use to fix it." Tim says as he sits down at the table.
"Who can we get to fix it that's really cheap?" Esther asks.
"Uh, me." Tim smiles. "I don't have anything to do for a couple of months."
"You'll fix it?" Esther smiles as she sits down in her boyfriend's lap. "What's the price?"
Tim smiles as their eyes meet.
"Ooooo, come on yall." Avi whines covering his ears. "No dirty talk at the table."
"Sorry, little brother." Esther laughs. "But I think I like his prices."
They all laugh as Avi covers his deep red face with his hands.
"Timmy, behave." Kirstie scolds as she hugs her embarrassed boyfriend.
"I never said a word." Tim chuckles.
"You didn't have to. Actions speak louder than words." Kirstie laughs.
"I'm sorry, Sweetie." Esther giggles as she reaches over and rubs her baby brother on the back.
"Can I help?" Avi asks after he uncovers his face.
"Uh, I don't think I need help with the payment." Tim chuckles and Esther blushes.
"OH MY GOD!" Avi shouts, covering his face again.
"TIM!" Kirstie yells, slapping her brother on the arm.
"Owww!" Tim laughs grabbing his arm. "Sorry, but I couldn't resist. Of course, you can help me with the repairs, Avi."
"Really?" Avi asks, his green eyes widen with excitement.
"Sure, we can go back to the house later and see what lumber we can salvage." Tim smiles. "That is if I can borrow your truck?" He asks turning his attention to Esther.
"Of course, but do you think it's safe for Avi?" Esther asks with a worried look.
"Yeah, he'll be fine. I'm not going to let anything happen to him." Tim assures her.
"You better not." Kirstie says. "Cause if you let him get hurt, you'll have to answer to me and Esther."
"Believe it or not, that scares me." Tim says seriously.
