On the way back to Josh's place, there were more people out. I was a bit nervous about walking around in broad daylight while holding hands with a guy, but almost nobody even gave us a sideways glance. While waiting for some cars to pass so we could cross the street, one woman even commented on how cute we looked together. (A/N: SHE SHIPS IT YEEEE)

When we finally arrived back where we'd started, Josh kissed my cheek and let go of my hand. "I've got to get to class, unfortunately."

"Me too. I wish we were headed the same direction, I could drive you."

"It's alright, Ty." I smiled at the nickname; nobody had ever called me Ty before.

"I'll text you later?" I unlocked the door to my truck.

"Sounds good."

I got in, but kept the door open, turning to face Josh.

"Ty, can I ask you something?"

"Technically you just did."

Josh laughed. "Let me rephrase that, then. Can I ask you something else?"

"Yes."

He hesitated, lowering his eyes to the ground, then back up to me. "Will you be my boyfriend? Like, officially?"

Happiness bubbled up in my chest. "Absolutely."
