{Part Sixty-seven}

"Surprised to see you here," Brendon greeted. He and Ryan were both dressed in warm winter coats, and holding hands. Brendon was wearing a pair of glasses, which I had never seen him in before, and Ryan had a dark gray beanie atop his head.

"You guys on a date?" Josh asked in a teasing tone.

A pink blush spread across both boys' cheeks, and Brendon grinned. "Yeah, we are." He squeezed Ryan's hand. "How about you guys?"

"You bet," Josh confirmed with a smile. "Not sure what movie to see yet, though."

"What movie are you two seeing?" I asked politely.

"They're reshowing Psycho," Brendon said excitedly. "They're showing a bunch of Hitchcock films all week. Ryan's not much one for horror movies, but I promised to hold his hand the whole time." His grin grew wider.

Josh and Brendon began an eager chat about horror movies as we slowly moved forward in line, and Ryan and I ended up standing next to one another.

"Did he get glasses?" I asked Ryan.

Ryan shook his head. "Nah, he just uses them for seeing long distance."

We were both quiet for a second before I spoke again.

"I'm not much one for horror movies, either."

"What do you want to see, then?" Ryan asked. He tugged his dark gray beanie down over his ears.

I looked at the movie posters again. Most of the movies seemed either too dull, too ridiculously stupid, or too dramatic. My eyes finally settled on a poster. "Rear Window. I saw part of it on television a few weeks ago, but I didn't get to catch the whole thing."

"Is that the movie you want to see?" Josh asked, wrapping his arm around me. I hadn't realized that he'd been listening in.

"Only if you want to," I said, ducking my head a bit.

"Yeah! Hitchcock movies are the best."

Happily, I kissed Josh's cheek. "Let's see that one, then."
