(A/N): I'll be leaving this as more of a note for myself, cuz at the moment of writing this, I have no idea how this is gonna turn out, Im going into this brain empty. With that said, enjoy! (Disclaimer: This chapter wont stray much from the canon, however as soon as the first fight starts I'm deviating from original plot, less fighting more romance.)

(3rd person POV)

A boy with (H/C) hair and (S/C) skin laid down on a hammock in a dark room snoring away. The two tattoos that covered his arms and shoulders glowed (F/C) in the dark providing a little light source comparable to a night light. 

Today was the day of the Conference held every 1000 years to decide whether humans get to live another 1000 years or not, our protagonist however usually decides to sleep through it. The gods are mostly used to his behavior and thus don't really mind his foolery. However, his sleep wouldn't last any longer as the door to his room opened loudly.

???: Good morning (Y/N)-Sama! 

*thud*

The young boy falls from his hammock onto his butt. He yawns as he opens his eyes.

(Y/N): Ow ow ow, hm? Brun-chan?

On the doorsteps stood Brunhilde, one of the 13 Valkyrie sisters, the oldest one to be exact. She was a close friend of (Y/N) and they mutually enjoyed each other's company, Brunhilde still addressed (Y/N) as sama much to his annoyance, but he'll convince her to drop it eventually...or so he hopes.

(Y/N): Why are you here this early? Also, drop the sama, we've been friends for centuries.

Brunhilde: Have you forgotten what day it is?

(Y/N): It's the conference, right? Nothing new I'm going to sleep through it. Humanity gets to live another 1000 years and I continue to laze around.

Brunhilde shakes her head in disappointment at her friend with a sigh.

Brunhilde: I wouldn't be so sure.

(Y/N) raises his brow.

(Y/N): Are you implying?

Brunhilde: I'm afraid so.

His eyes widen for a second.

(Y/N): Shit, didn't think the day would come.

Brunhilde: That language isn't befitting of a demi god (Y/N)-Sama.

(Y/N): At least you're keeping your sense of humor, that means you have a plan right?

Brunhilde nods.

Bunhilde: Do you trust me (Y/N)?

(Y/N): *Dumbfounded* Did you just- yes, I trust you.

Brunhilde smiles softly. 

Brunhilde: Then follow me.

(Y/N) gets on his feet and follows Brunhilde out of his room, as soon as he steps outside a familiar face greets him with a hug.

Göll: (Y/N)-Nii!!!

(Y/N) chuckles at the enthusiastic Valkyrie, Göll is the youngest of them all.

(Y/N): Heya kiddo, have you been getting used to this whole Valkyrie thing?

Göll: Brunhilde Nee-chan has been helping me a lot!

He smiles at Göll and the three of them proceed to chat on the way, however, Brunhilde doesn't tell her plan to either one of the two. Curious about what she will do, (Y/N) doesn't pry in deeper to not ruin the surprise.

They reached a place, nice enough for them to stand and watch the conference from, (Y/N) sat on the railing and waited for the conference to start.

And so it did, the old man Zeus sat on his throne and began his speech like he does every year, but this time it was different, once the voting came, the compassion or indifference of the gods towards humans had ceased, and a majority vote of no had come up towards letting humans live another 1000 years. Normally, (Y/N) Would have been surprised by this outcome as he loved both gods and humans dearly and never expected such a conflict between the two to arise. But he wasn't surprised, thanks to Brunhilde that is. He didn't know how or why Brunhilde knew something like this was going to occur, but she knew. Göll on the other hand, her reaction was nothing short of shock. A shock that wouldn't end there as Brunhilde opened her mouth. 

Brunhilde: PLEASE WAIT A SECOND!

(Y/N) just smirks at his best friend's vocal range as she stops Zeus from bringing down his hammer. All the gods turned around to look at the insolent Valkyrie. 

Brunhilde took a step forward and began walking down the stairs, closer towards Zeus.

Göll: W-What are you doing Nee-Sama!?

(Y/N) stayed silent and walked behind her.

God 1: Is that a Valkyrie?

God 2: Valkyrie?

God 3: Is that (Y/N)-Sama?

God 4: He actually attended the conference!? 

Brunhilde came to a stop and began speaking.

Brunhilde: Pardon my intrusion furious gods but there is one thing I have to say.

Muninn (Name of the raven...the white one I think): Mind your manners BRUNHILDE!!!

Göll got scared by this interaction and hid behind (Y/N) who was just staring at Brunhilde trying to guess her next move. The two ravens keep lecturing Brunhilde about how she doesn't get to open her mouth during the conference of the gods. Bruhilde however brought an offer to the table.

Brunhilde: It is true that mankind is incredibly vulgar and violent however to just destroy them like that... isn't it boring?

Her little stunt seemed to capture the attention of the gods.

Brunhilde: Whether the survival of mankind has any value or not...with the might and mercy of gods, why don't we test them?

The gods get annoyed and confused at this statement questioning if she's in her right mind, demanding her to spit out what she has in mind. And so she answers.

Brunhilde: Humankind's final struggle. Ragnarok!

The gods look at her shocked while (Y/N) gets the biggest smile on his face, this was a brilliant idea! She really was his best friend for a reason.

She opened the Valhalla Constitution and began reading a specific rule out loud

Brunhilde: Article no.62, 1 vs 1 showdown between gods and mankind.

The rule explains how 13 humans vs 13 gods would fight, if mankind were to win, they'd be allowed to live for another 1000 years, however, this rule had never been applied since the creation of men, why? simple, because there is no way Mankind would ever win against the gods. This rule was merely written as a joke. 

The gods immediately began retaliating calling it pointless, that there was no way for humans to win, to some degree, (Y/N) had to agree, there was no reason for the gods to agree to this stupid rule.

Brunhilde: "we want to destroy mankind without fighting them". "We don't want to be put in a ring with them". Hmmm, Don't tell me...Are you chickening out?

(Y/N) couldn't contain his laughter as he began rolling on the ground, silence accompanied by the laughter of (Y/N) filled the conference, the gods would follow as they all laughed at what Brunhilde said, however, their laughter wouldn't be similar to (Y/N)'s as the gods were not laughing out of joy, but out of anger. The taunt Brunhilde delivered wouldn't easily be forgotten. 

The gods began screaming and shouting at Bunhilde. Curses and threats flew around freely. 

The last one to speak however silenced everyone else.

Zeus: Ho ho~ I see, Ragnarok hmm? Quite an interesting proposal. Well said, your proposal, was. an. absolute. 

Suddenly his arms gain an immense amount of muscle as he rips out the snot of the dragon he was petting. Poor dragon. 

Zeus: Besides! Don't you think it's been too long since we've shown the might of the gods!?

Zeus smiled maniacally covered in blood.

Zeus: What do you say, everyone?! Shall we hold a showdown between mankind and god!?

A roar came from the gods as Zeus brought down his hammer, it was decided. Ragnarok was starting.

(Y/N's POV)

The stunt Bunhilde pulled was crazy and now we were walking towards her room so that we could find someone for the first round. I still can't believe how ballsy she can be sometimes, I swear I'd be afraid of her if she wasn't my childhood friend. The way she portrayed her confidence today was mesmerizing to watch.

(Y/N): Hey Brunhilde, I trust you a lot but, do you have any idea who we're going against for the first round?

Brunhilde: Of course I know, we would naturally be going again-

Before Brunhilde could finish saying who it was going to be, our chat got interrupted by someone.

???: Yo Brunhild~ What you did at the conference was quite something~ I don't know what you're planning but you better be careful, the gods are cruel and ruthless, a bunch of self-centered assholes. But if something bad happens I'll protect you, tho it depends on your attitude~

An incubus, figures.

(3d person POV)

The Incubus took out his tongue and tried moving closer to Brunhilde but two snakes surrounded him and restrained him. He began to choke and panic as the snakes around his neck tightened.  

Incubus: L-Look man I-I'm sorry about that and l-look Brunhilde seems to be into it.

(Y/N) raised his eyebrow in a confused manner and realized Brunhilde was kneeling. 

*SPLAT*

He hadn't realized it before as he was focused on his anger towards the Incubus who now stood half a body in front of him, but behind him was a tall woman covered in a thick robe. Thor.

Thor: Sorry about your snakes (Y/N)

The two snakes hurried back to (Y/N) and inserted themselves back into (Y/N)'s arms as his tattoos.

(Y/N): It's fine Thor, he was getting on my nerves too. So, what do we owe you the pleasure?

Thor looked towards the kneeling Brunhilde covered in blood and a shivering Göll.

Thor: I wish to speak to her. 

Brunhilde: It's nice to see you Thor-Sama

Thor: What are you scheming?

Brunhilde: I'm afraid I don't know what you are talking about.

Thor stared into her eyes and began releasing an immense level of pressure. (Y/N) realised Göll was shaking even more so he placed his hand on Thor's head.

(Y/N): Mind the kids.

Thor stopped releasing her pressure and just stared at (Y/N) before leaving.

(Y/N): She's intense but has a good heart. Are you good Brun-Chan?

Göll: Of course she is! She was so calm!

Brunhilde: Did I look that way? Good then.

Brunhilde was shaking and sweating profusely thanks to Thor's pressure. (Y/N) Kneels down and gives her a hug. 

(Y/N): Does this help?

Brunhilde: Thanks (Y/N) but not really, you smell like a snake.

(Y/N) stood there with a hurt look on his face as if a revelation had dawned on him. 

(Y/N): Ouch...wish you were kinder towards me sometimes.

Brunhilde: Stop fooling around (Y/N) and let us hurry, we need to choose the 13 most powerful humans in the 7 million years of history.

(Y/N): Oh! Hit-

Brunhilde: Don't finish that sentence (Y/N).

And so they arrived at the room, and now it was only a matter of choosing who to fight.
