Chapter 6: Soldier for Troy

Gun pieces fell to the ground, while Huitzi processed with amended what had just happened. His intact hand could only keep the handle of his now destroyed Xiau.

– … Eh?…

In the stands, as the seconds the punishment and panic passed into emotion.

Something… surprising has happened! A set of very fast attacks! – Heimdall exclaimed through his horn – Direct Achilles hit threw the God helmet! Huitzi destroying the half-god shield and almost cutting his arm! And finally, Achilles has destroyed Huitzi's weapon with a single blow!

For first time, Trojans were thus emotionally positive for what their old rival did.

– Achilles is amazing! – exclaimed Cicno with a proud smile.

– Has an over so powerful as a fool! I'm very excited!

Hector, inevitably, drew a smile on his lips.

– This position in Ragnarok has more than deserved.

Gods were silent of sepulcher; even the mexician gods, who were throwing proudly and fervor now were submerged in such communal silence. Coa didn't wait and let out a heartburn.

– Son!

Cuahui swallowed as he stared at.

– It cannot be… His weapon… is the most powerful weapon of our pantheon… and it was…

Ares and Hermes opened their eyes with astonishment while trying to understand what they saw. Instead, Athena didn't show any surprise; the opposite, she had a smile.

– I knew it. My pretty Achilles isn't any weakness or idiot!

– Did you know he would do that!? – The God of war shouted with suspens.

– Shut up Ares. You'll leave me deaf. – Athena bullfotheses, then back to look at the arena – I could predict it, but not knowing it. In the end everything depended his arm could break that weapon, or else there was all the arm…

Athena denied with head and eyes closed.

– No, no, no! He'd no longer be 'pretty Achilles' with a broken arm!

The 3 Gods were silent until Ares spoke out loud.

– So… What will happen from now?

– Now both are the same. Without weapons or shields; only their fists – Athena's eyes shone with child emotion – We're about to witness the climax!

Achilles took the fragments of Xiau which were stuck on his arm and shield to throw it to the ground. Especially the arm-end of the arrow form; he threw it from a blow to God's feet.

Then, the Greek removed the tapes from his arm that held the piece of shield. Pulled his defensed broken down the ground, ripped another piece of his red layer and wrapped his cut arm.

And to finish the hero took an offensive posture to the Mexica God, giving him a look seriously with his challenging voice.

– Now we're the same… Will we continue with this, Blessed God of War?

After having maintained his great surprise, Huitzi smiled widely while he wash his gun mango to the ground.

– This I referred to… with a good fight…

Gods and humans were thrilled in a great way with the behavior of the fighters; they all knew the best part of the combat approached.

Hearing the clamor of the spectators, especially of Trojans who once murdered, Achilles could only smile and whispered contentment to himself.

– I have a great opportunity again… like on that occasion. Only now, I hope, this will be happier…

Athena looked at Achilles, managing to read the movement of his lips. Then the Greek smiled with nostalgia while set her hair.

– Remember old days, my pretty Achilles…

Athena stretched to be better about the seat, while another one took candy for herself.

– Yeah… your old glory time as a great hero…

Thessaly, Greece. A city-state as any other:

Its citizens carried out their daily activities without problems; sale of different products, be it home, food or provisions, be for themselves or for other peoples.

A common city and anyone. The city where a future legend emerged…

On a dusty street, a group of teenagers walked with aires of greatness while they loaded a couple of dead boar.

– It's been a good season! – exclaimed one of the boys, named Antilochus – In only this week we've hung many animals.

– We already sell half, and with other one heve filled our stomachs – spoke a second, which was called Stentor.

– This deserves a celebration! – exclaimed a third one, Teucer.

– Of course! – He answered the fourth, Ajax.

The group of 8 boys threw a kind of joy and emotion into unison. Ajax turned to a guy who a remote feet loaded the weapons with difficulty; the ninth of the group.

– Achilles! Don't press a lot!

The young Achilles. Future hero of Greece.

For today he was nothing more than a simple boy: a teenager of little physical condition, so was responsible for helping his friends carrying their weapons.

– Do not press myself? I must do it! – He spoke firmly juggling with some spears – I didn't help at today's work. It's the least I can do.

– Didn't you help? Of course you did it! You're looking for cheating on the boar.

– In addition, you've been studying this field very much. – the fifth, of name Automedon, supported Ajax – So long…

Automedon took a hand to the head with a doubt.

– Damn, bro! I don't know how you manage to do everything at same time!

The sixth and seventh, of names Merions and Eumelo, nodded at the same time.

– With all your effort, we've done these jobs very well!

– You've made more than all of us!

– Craps!

Achilles laughed, but was interrupted by the spears that fell. And just before they touch the ground, the eighth boy came right quickly and took them.

– Always so dose!

Achilles looked at him and smiled.

– Patroclus!

He was his best friend, Patroclus. Friends from children; as soul brothers and accomplices one of the other.

Patroclus looked like those spears in his arms.

– You don't have a remedy. I'll help you… And before you deny it, I do this 'cause I want!

Achilles laughed at a bit.

– Thank you very much.

– I still don't understand why so serious, Achilles – spoke Eumelus with sighs – You should relax a bit more.

– All for the dream of this boy – answered Patroclus with sarcasm – Be a Greece military legend!

– Not exaggerate, Patroclus! – exclamed Achilles – But it's almost true. I want be a great soldier, for Thessalia and all Greece.

– Then you're in the wrong place – Teucer joked – Thessaly isn't for war. That's business for spartans, attenians, thebons… We're only peasants, one that another hunter, and many teenagers without future.

– That will change! 'Cause I'll be the first Thessaly soldier, and the best!

– You're already the best, bro – Patroclus replied with a smile – With your attitude and head, you could end up an army… Only the muscles are missing!

– For that I train every day!

– Also train?! Are you kidding me!? – exclaimed surprised Automedon – How do you have time for everything?!

They all went aloud, until Antilochus saw a strange fact in the distance.

– Wait! Apparently… I see those of the other group.

– Eh?

– They bring something too behind on their backs… and go in the direction of the old man…

Ajax realized immediately.

– Shit! Those idiots want to take our money! We must arrive before!

They all ran in stamped, leaving alone Patroclus and Achilles.

– Let's go! We don't stay back!

Both guys ran behind the main group, while in the distance the other group also advanced running.

That was the routine of the group of 9 boys. Hunt animals to sell, and have money and leftovers to sustain themselves. Missions and ideal works; perfect for a group of orphaned young people who loved the adventure. As a ring to the finger.

All also fruitful for Achilles. Daily training, make the hunting strategies… Everything to achieve your dream of being a soldier for Thessalia.

And at the least expected moment an opportunity arrived.

A month later, a group of horse membeles with the Sparta flags crossed the doors of the city, surprising their inhabitants.

– Sparta messengers… What do they want?

The soldiers arrived at the courtyard of the city, with people already gathered around them. The soldier at the command came down from his mount and spoke in front of himself.

– We must talk to Thessaly leaders!

Achilles and his friends were coming out of the city to go to his next mission, when saw the angelomeration of people.

– And that? – Teucer asked curiously.

– Apparently they just got… – replied Merions – I saw them after we left our garment.

– Will they be spartans?

– Although they are, won't give us deer to eat! – exclaimed Antilochus – Let's go.

– You go… – Achilles spoken, extending the arms to Automethodont and Merions – I want to see what they do here.

– No, Achilles! – Ajax ran at boy foot – Without your head those deer won't be our!

– Calm down! You already know the plan… Follow it and there will be money for the next week.

– I'll stay with you. – Patroclus accompanied the boy – I also want to know what it's about.

– You too? – Stentor complained – We have lost 2 of our friends… For spartans!

– Don't say nonsense! You'll be 7 against a pair of deer, What can it go wrong?

– Then we go… – Antilochus concluded – But tell us everything when we back!

– To the order!

The boys went to the forest, while the other 2 returned to the city. Then Achilles asked his friend.

– Why did you stay? You'd have liked hunt those deer.

– Actually, your more than I should go with them… – Patroclus joked, taking Achilles of the shoulders – You want to be soldier, but you don't even throw a stone to a deer!

– I want to be soldier to take care of Thessaly, not to launch stones to deers.

– You should start with something, isn't it?

The boys reached the meeting, in which increased their interest as the messengers spoke with the leaders. After a while, a spartan talked to the other citizens.

– Thessaly citizens! We bring a message from Sparta king, Menelao. – The main extended a parchment and began to read – Esparta has declared war against Troy!

Immediately the whispers and murmurs jumped among the inhabitants.

– A moment. – Achilles whispered – I remember there was a rumor Troy was causing problems.

– Problems? It must be more than that.

– Esparta has formed a military alliance with other cities. According to the trade and military treaties made with Thessaly, you have to send men to be part of army.

Immediately, complaints, confusion, murmurs and doubts arose among people; Patroclus was include with confused people.

– Who are they to order?

Achilles immediately ventured to explain.

– Thessaly and Sparta have maintained a mutual aid agreement, for something happened a long time ago. If one of the cities involved is attacked, the others must respond.

– This treaty must be respected, Thessaly citizens! You must fulfill your part!

The crowd of people continued angry and complaining. While they argued the situation, Achilles and Patroclus spoke among them.

– T-That means… Will be war…

Patroclus took Achilles of the shoulders immediately.

– Your dream, bro! You can go to war against Troya, kill a few, and return with title of soldier!

– That's right! – Achilles smiled – But… I don't think…

– Huh?

– Well… as you said, I'm not even able to throw a stone to a deer.

– What matters! You will learn over time… Best in an army than with peasants!

– … I guess you're right – Achilles squeezed fists with courage – I can make my dream!

– Then go. Tell them you going with them. Ful your dream.

Patroclus gave him a slight push, who surprised him.

– What? But… The others… What will happen to you?

– Well… it may Antilochus lose his head, Automedon will cry 3 days, and Merions will load the spears. But I'm sure everyone will understood.

The doubts began to enter the boy. So Patroclus hit a little blow to encourage him.

– C'mon! Fulfill your dream, and come back with life to be blowing it… I already want to see the faces of all in the city!

Achilles felt about to cry, especially because it would be far from his best friend and brother. Patroclus was about to console him, perhaps with some blow or new words of encouragement, when…

– All men greater than 20 years in physical and mental conditions to fight should go. We'll wait them for the next 3 hours, and so will participate in the military alliance camp will do the forehead against Troy.

Patroclust was quietly, while Achilles changed his sadness for a sarcastic laughter.

– Ha. It seems Gods want to keep us united.

– That seems! – Patroclus laughed next to his friend – So we, the nine thessalian hunters, will go to the war! It sounds great!

He spoiled inflowed his chest, when remembered something.

– By the way! I must give you something first.

– Huh?

– Follow me.

Patroclus ranching and Achilles followed him; both reached the small refuge where all of them were (which was actually a lot of fabrics tapped at the end of a alley).

Patroclus began to look for in his belongings with great interest, until released a shout.

– Here is! – The boy pulled out a small glass bottle with a red liquid which extended to Achilles.

– What's this?

– I don't remember its name. It's supposed be a liquid makes you very strong.

– Do you talk about… "Ambrosia"? Where did you get it?

– From Zeus temple, a day from here.

– So it is! –returned the bottle in an instant – How did you get it!?

– That doesn't matter – Patroclo took Achilles from shoulders – I'll be a direct. I talked to the boys before today and we agree on it.

– What do you talk about?

– We know you want to be soldier, and also you aren't very good with your body as your head. And depops of many ideas, we concluded… "We could give him Ambrosia to help him at least be very strong."

– Why do you say that in miserable voice?

– We plan took out the ambrosia, and were going to put it in your food. But, well, now there's a war against Troy… That makes it much better! You take Ambrosia, become very strong, and win the war!

Achilles understood what his friend meant, and bothered by so low.

– No, I mustn't do it.

– Why do you say that?

– I've trained every day arduously. Taking Ambrosia would be to send to trash all that previous effort.

– I don't see it like that… Is more like take a shortcut!

– In addition, we don't know if that thing really works. Everything we know are rumors someone invented.

– I don't, but you know. With that huge head you have… – Patroclus was noticed what his friend said – Huh? Don't you know if it works!?

– I know it exists, but I don't even know what is. Poison, divine blood, or a very old grape juice.

Both were silently a long time. Patroclus raised his shoulders with doubtful security.

– Anyway, I'll take it. In case the doubts.

– How will you take it?

– Everything wrapped it in my sheet. And once I'll prepare all the things to take; you should also do it.

– Yes… You're right.

– And then we go to the others… before the Sparta take us!

– Yes!

A week after having the Court garnished, the large Greek army stopped in a plans in the general order.

– We'll stay camp here.

The general of the squad where was Achilles, Patroclus and his friends, named Agamemnon. He immediately gave an important ad.

– Many of you, if it's not all, don't have the slightest idea how to fight. So we'll stay in this region for a month to train you with is necessary to fight against Troy.

– Today you'll rest, so install yourselves. – A second general spoke with Agamemnon – But tomorrow, as soon as the sun raise through the mountains, will start the training.

Achilles, Patroclus and the boys armed some small improvised camping houses, whicj were his beads with some branches to cover themselves, next to the forest that bound the camp.

– So… a month… – sighed Ajax – We'll be stamped here a month.

– It'll be something good… At the end of month, we'll be able to fight against Troy.

– Do you think that's the best? No! – exclaimed Antilochus with a smile – Tell me, guys, do you know where we are exactly?

– If not bad memory,  somebody said we are in Beocia – Automedon took a hand to the chin – Why do you ask?

– In Beocia, very good… According to Itaca boys, who know better places, and who I spoke; we are on the skirts of Mount Helicon.

– Mount Helicon? That name sounds me out – Achilles stood to think.

– You say we're in Mount Helicon?

– In theory, yes. And… what happened in Mount Helicon?

– Another of your guess – Stentor immediately refused. – I'm out.

– No, attention! Here it happens something important!

–… I've remembered! – Achilles plays his fist proudly – In this mountain live Tiresias, who has prophecy gift… We can visit him!

Everyone became interested in that explanation, and agree on emotion and curiosity. The only one who didn't share it was Antilochus.

– Seriously, Achilles? Is the only thing you have in your head?

– So, what do you talk about? – Patroclus approached the conversation – What do you want to focus?

– And let's now be in the second question… How did Tiresias became a prophet?

– Oh, that was because of…

The young Achilles thought his response; And after long minutes of turning the matter into his head, he suddenly blushed. All the boys were surprised in great way.

– Huh!? Achilles blushed!?

– What the hell?!

– It was… – Achilles began to explain – According to the legend… for having seen a nude goddess… in middle of a bath…

– In effect, Achilles! That means…

They all looked confused and surprised, but after thinking about a couple of seconds a gain smile of emotion was drawn on their faces.

– Here Goddesses bathe!

– Of course! – exclaimed Antilochus – We can spy and see the naked body and wet from a Goddess!

– Of course… – Eumelo spoke out excited – This is the best we're going to experience in our lives and on this trip… War and beautiful Goddesses!

– Of course! – exclamed Teucer.

– I'll make sure that images will remain in my eyes and memories. – Ajax was accorded.

– W-Wait guys…! – Achilles try to stop their fantasies – I don't think it's good idea! Tiresias is blind 'cause of that.

– Oh, my dear Achilles… – Antilochus got closet to take him from the shoulder – Tiresias is dead?

– Well… I don't know when he was born, so…

– You're right. But, Tiresias died for having seen a nude goddess?

– Huh… No…

– On the contrary! He became a prophet… – The boy began to conclude with lust – So… if our mission is successful, and we found a goddess, whether Athena, Persephone, Hera, or even Afrodite in one of their bathrooms and discover us… We'll just lose something, but in exchange for a prize as Tiresias… In the end, no matter how we see it, we have a win-win!

– Now you say it out loud, sounds very fantasy. – Patroclus took a hand to the chin – Goddesses bath on a mountain to mercy any human can spy? Very good to be true.

The other boys began to think with head.

– It's true. No good make plans with horny head.

– Anyway… we don't lose anything to try it! – Antilochus continued thinking without head – If the bathroom exists, we have a benefit. If not, we'll only have lost some time.

– … It could be fun – the other guys changed mind – Know this place and look for a lost treasure… Just as in our children!

– If you put it like that, sounds fun! – Achilles's doubts dissipated – I'm in!

– Thus, it's spoken! – Antilochus smiled, and stretched his arms – I'd recommend now, but I'm tired and hungry. And tomorrow the training begins, so… Do we start tomorrow after training?

– Yeah!

The next day, as general Agamemnon said, the training began.

To be the first day, from the point view of the 9 hunters, it had been very heavy. Awaken even before the first sunbeams and repeatedly surround the skirts of Mount Helicon left the boys without breath, but was only heating.

Immediately afterwards the use of weapons: sword, lance, shield, arrows and arch; and body combat training. For more experienced guys and men, like the Spartans, it was nothing new or at least exhausting, but for the boys fromThessaly was like hell.

– This will be all for today! They go to rest before dinner.

For the falling the night, Achilles and his friends were almost dead. Without thinking, they all fell on their sheets to rest.

– For the Gods! – exhailed Ajax – Was horrible!

– A rigorous, complete, and demanding workout! – Automedon answered – and was just the first day! One of 30!

– Let's see the good side! – Eumelo smiled – We already spent the first day. Only missing 29.

– Is it easier to say that fulfilling, not? – complained Teucer – 29 days are missing.

– Time will pass flying, I assure you. When we least realize, will just be missing a day.

– You're right – Patroclus agree – We already spent the first day. It's good news… What do you say Achilles?

– I think… will be… very difficult…

– Of course! – Stentor bowed openly – A few days ago we're hunters, and some days after will be soldiers. It's very difficult to process all.

– Spartans already know how to fight. I've seen they can raise swords with fingers… while we… – Achilles spoke with heaviness – Being a soldier is… a long run.

– Don't say that! –  Patroclus tried to comfort him, hitting his shoulder – They're good because are obsessed with war. But we can reach them if strive enough.

Achilles didn't answer, but kept low sembly. If it would be a very difficult path… And could there be some way to achieve your goal?

Strike more and more... more and more… more and more…

– C'mon Achilles!

Achilles got up again, inside the circle drawn on the ground; the "fighting arena". In front, his opponent of Argos named Diomedes, who was better prepared to fight, take an offensive position.

A small tournament organized by Agamemnon to establish a list of the best warriors in each region. Although only one week had spent, it would serve as an incentive to improve.

After having fought and striving all day to spend every round without much effort, now Achilles was very tired. But, if he came to the eighths of end, that effort wouldn't be in vain.

Around the circle, Patroclus and the boys supported his friend.

– Do it!

– That boy of Argos is nothing for you!

– You can get it!

Achilles again took the defensive, while sweat of his face was raining. In contrast, Diomedes barely was immutied; his physical complexion and ease in the handling of weapons showed he wasn't fighting with all his being.

« Yes, just as they said… » Achilles thought, with stirred breathing « This boy of Argos is good with weapons and very strong. I knew it'd be a big problem when I knew my opponent be. But I'm not going to hesitate; I must beat him to advance in this tournament… More close to my dream! »

Achilles took the end of his spear, pointing the tip of metal arrow to the front.

– That technique! – Patroclus was surprised – Has been practicing it all this week!

– Do you talk about "Sky Eater"?

– What? No! – Patroclus explained with emotion – His special technique, made to cross the defense of any adversary and finish a fight with a single blow… "King's Javelin"!

Achilles released a shout and ran towards Diomedes, while everyone observed him in silence. The Thessalian boy advanced towards that of Argos, who'd put defense as soon as saw him.

But, when Achilles was a few centimeters to take his opponent's shot, Diomedes took a turn of a quarter back to dodge it. And without being able to stop, Achilles simply went out shot out of the circle.

Everyone, who had previously seen with excitement, were stupped with that sudden ending. Without waiting for anything else, Agamemnon came and raised Diomedes' fist in victoria sign.

– Diomedes from Argos enters the next phase of the tournament! Achilles from Thessaly is removed!

Achilles only remained on the floor, with an embarrassment invaded him as soon as he heard all applauding Diomedes.

– May I help you?

Those words took him by surprise. Raised his face and looked at his opponent extending one hand; Achilles accepted it without doubt and the boy of Argos helped him stand.

– Good fight. You're very good to think about how overcome your rival.

– Thank you.

– But, unfortunately, won't win wars only using head.

Diomedes whispered, after then palming his shoulder a couple of times and withdraw from the place, along with his last praise.

– Strengthest more! You have a lot of potential!

Once Diomedes went, the other boys arrived with Achilles immediately.

– Very well done, bro! – Stentor was the first in flatter him – You did it awesome!

The others immediately imitated it.

– You could beat many boys, even from Sparta, with those techniques you do in the head – said Teucer, to later let go of a laugh – I was fired one of those spartans.

– Don't disagree Achilles! – Patroclus gave him outshaid – There still 3 weeks to train. I'm sure you can improve much.

Achilles wasn't listening to any. He only had in head what Diomedes told him. Not enough for his dream…

The answer he gave to his friends was mere courtesy for not to misliench him.

– I guess they're right…

– This doesn't end yet!

Agamemnon let out a scream to call everyone's attention.

– Our first training tournament is still followed. All those who were selected passed to continue.

Ajax, Antilochus and Patroclus were those selected for the next round. He spoiled sighed for the low and only lift his shoulders.

– According to… I see you in next round!

Automedon, Stentor, Eumelo, Merions, Teucer, like Achilles, were those who hadn't passed. Automedon was first to talk, with a smile of joke.

– Let's go! I want to see them stacked Ajax ass! – He managed to take a smile in Achilles – You come too, right?

Achilles yawned a little and stretched his arms.

– I don't know… I think I'll go back.

– Where?

– To vague a little in the forest, clear my mind. I am exhausted for all this tournament, so I'll take some fresh air…

– In that case, we go with you! – The 5 guys approached, but Achilles predicted them.

– No! I want… Take a walk alone. You already know… be a while with myself. I guess I'll take a little bit, so don't worry if I'm not here before dinner…

The boys looked at each other, until Merions nodded with something weigh.

– But more it's like it! – exclaimed at once – Don't want Tebas get the best meat!

– Yeah!

– In that case, See your later – concluded Teucer – And don't worry. We'll take care of stringing Antilochus by stone.

– Ha, as you say guys! I see you in a while!

Achilles without hesitation headed towards the forest at a light trot. Night was still far away, so the evening light clearly illuminated the path the boy took.

The boy walked for a while, loading his own blanket he took while talking to the boys, until reached a lot of ruins.

In the second night in the camp, the boys had discovered those ruins thinking there were Goddesses baths they were looking for. But, after having suspected in that place, they found nothing that confirmed it.

As soon as he assured being alone and away from the camp, Achilles sat down at one of the rocks and used his blanket to dry the little sweat for his recent fight.

While doing it, his mind was invaded from the memories of the camp. In everything he remembered, the same thought was present:

– The head doesn't serve in the battlefield… – whispered for himself – I want to be a soldier, but I only have head to think. But not the strength to do it.

He sighed in a low voice, with heaviness and tiredness.

Led his right hand to inside of the blanket, and extracted what was looking for: Ambrosia from Zeus temple.

– I'm surprised Patroclus convinced me to have this. – commented with sarcasm, leaving the bottle on the ground.

He again thought a long time, with his gaze directed in the glass bottle, with that same feeling of nostalgia.

– I want to fight against Troya to fulfill my dream. It's supposed to be the push necessary to be recognized as a good soldier… – he smiled pride – Be a warrior who defends his land of the invaders, a man who marks the difference… not let more people… like my parents… die from lack of protection!

He took a hand to his head, feeling also frustration.

– But my condition doesn't allow me… I've trained a lot of years, whole days and nights without rest… and even so, I still don't be strong enough to not use my head.

Achilles extended his hand and took the bottle. He took off the lid, smelled his content low, and was long seconds only by seeing him in his hands.

– In the end, the boys are right. It isn't the same my body as my mind… – He felt fear for uncertainty about Ambrosia, but breathed deep to calm down – I'll trust Patroclus said the truth.

Directed the opening of the bottle to his mouth and in all the drink ingested all content. Thanks to the jar was small, he could take everything yet without much effort and without leaving any drop.

His mouth could taste a little liquid a little while the rest entered his body, and he only had a comment about it.

– So… nasty. This tastes awful.

Suddenly a great power lit inside. Achilles got up shot when he feels a terrible heat began to suffocate his body, especially throat.

– Agh! – As soon as the throat was held, all his body began to hurt him in a great way. The only could do was dropping to the soil added in pain – What shit is this!?

Before realizing, all your body lies into flames that consumed him quickly.

Achilles launched several screams of pain and agony, while felt each part of his body to burn. But the distant from the camp and the bustle of tournament prevented any help from which any could have given him.

In just a few seconds, the boy was consumed in his entirety without leaving any trail…

Midnight. In the same ruins…

From the perspective of the boys they were only rocks shot, but it was really much more.

These pieces of ruins scattered on the pasture and among the trees had certain engravings on the stone, some spent and apparently all of the same unknown language. But from one moment to the other the engravings lit up light blue celel, releasing a light that shone over the forest a few moments.

Then the ruins began to move to accommodate, silently and exactly. Just like a puzzle, each piece fit to perfection, until it is a beautiful architectural piece:

A small stone spa, with stairs on the sides and a wall of which hung torches. As soon as they went on with golden fire, the stone was transformed into silver or crystal, and below the torches appeared a source that began to pour crystalline water until filling the central pool.

On one side, facing the stairs, a group of beautiful young women emerged. Among them was one, of a low stature dressed in a very splonged and colorful bathrobe, but the other used wearing sinks.

One of the servants approached the main one, talking to him with concern.

– Miss Athena, it's not a good idea use this spa. At least 3 miles there is a human camp.

– "Human camp"? Why do you talk about them as if they're aliens? – the goddess asked. – They're human, who created my daddy a long time ago. They must be treated with more respect.

– Anyway, miss Athena – answered a second servant – You could be in danger.

And, here weighing his previous statement, Athena said the following with a mockery tone.

– Danger? For be discovered by a human? If that happens, my spear will stuck in his penis, kick his ass, and turn him into a deer.

Athena sat on the shore of the pool and dipped the tip of his foot in the transparent water, released a shine of emotion.

– Awww. It's warm warm water ~

– Miss Athena, if someone sees your nakedness, will be a great embarrassment.

–… If someone see my nudity, will pay with its life. I assure you – Started playing with water by moving your feet in a tender way – In addition, I went down here and prepare this bathroom. I won't return everything to it place just to go to Tebas or Troy and prepare another "safe" bathroom.

– But, miss Athena… We also have springs in Olympus.

– It was sarcasm – Athena clanted, and then smiling a little – It's much better be in human world. This air so clean, be in contact with nature, see and touch the animals…

Athena was released from an emotion.

– I really love the world of humans! It's much better than Olympus, Asgard, or any of those sites! I can assure you it's worth taking a bath in this spa.

– … As you decide, miss Athena. – nodded all the servants – We'll stay with you to-

– Ladies, we already discussed this. – The Goddess reminded – If my daddy finds out I'm not in my room, I'll be in trouble. You guys take out that doesn't happen… ALL OF YOU.

The servants looked at each other, and in the end accepted. One to one was disappearing by a watthe light.

Athena turned to make sure was alone; as soon as she did, took off the bathrobe, and naked immersed completely in the water. A sigh of emotion came out of her lips.

– Ahhh! These spas are wonderful. I already needed to take a good bathroom.

She dived head in the water to wet hair, and then began to wash it with elegant movements while whistling… as his Poseidon uncle.

Athena was for a long time, combining the bathroom with moments of meditation; she sat on the shore to contemplate the night, black and clean heaven was allowed to see among the trees, full of stars illuminated the celestial vault, along with the cold air and smell of nature filled her nose.

– For this reason I prefer these bathrooms. Here I can enjoy humanity and everything they've done…

She said that with proudly, but the idea stayed on her head for a few seconds. Then began to think about it with curiosity.

– Some, like bitch Afrodita, Thor, Bishamonten, Shiva and Loki become so crazy they want to kill humans… But 'cause they don't spend time here! – Athena herself was angry with that comment – Humans are cute and their world very beautiful. Sometimes more than Olympo.

Her emotions quickly changed for boredom, and turned to support chin on pool shore. Another thought reached her head and turned it back.

– Sometimes I wonder how the future will be. If humanity will be destroyed, if gods decide to leave them at their mercy by whim of any, if humans end up to self–session, or…

Athena was a finger to the mouth with naughty curiosity.

– Or… If someone will remember in Valhalla Constitution is a rule which humans and gods can fight among them.

A naughty laughter came out of her lips as soon as she thought that.

– It'd be fun to propose it at the next VaValhalla Conference… I could fight against a good warrior, or train one!

With that in mind, again immersed in the water; this time to play see how much breathing was bune. A few minutes later came out of the water with a very funny laugh.

– Silly I'm! A God can't die drowned, or at least it believes Poseidon uncle… Better my sisters aren't invited, or they would have mocked from me!

On the shore there was a banking with several bent towels; she approached to take one and dry his face several times.

– But, best advantage of taking baths at midnight is no goddess is awake, and no human too. Nobody awaken to see the shameful things I do… Fascinating!

– Ahh… my head…

Athena was silent. She scared hearing a male voice near, and more not knowing who was.

Turned her head in direction where voice heard, but between the dark night and the lighting of the torches didn't see anyone or anything. Turned many times, and when confirming there was nothing her fear disappeared with a sarcastic sigh.

– Ha! I'm already listening things! My sister Persephone would call me crazy, even though she was who went with Hades uncle-

– Persephone? Hades?

The double question of that same male voice scared him much more, so he turned again. And, a couple of feets away a human man stood up, although… he didn't seem be a human.

His height was above average; maybe just over 6 feet. Her body was covered in such prominent musculature that Athena unconsciously blushed, especially when she realized that was naked. Rather half naked, since a kind of cloth covered him from waist to knees.

He held his head complaining as if it hurt him, and blinkled several times as if were dizzy. Looked around, and could only confuse more.

– What? Where I am? – That man was… Achilles.

Athena was too blur to act. A human found his beautiful spa, and was naked in front of a nuded human.

She wasn't waiting and let out her discomfort in a female scream.

– Ahhhhhhh!!

The scream completely awoke Achilles, which took his hands to ears.

– What?!

Turned to look himself a second and realized his new body. Touched it a couple of times to confirm, and smiled successfully.

– A-All my body is… Yes! Ambrosia worked!

– Damn perverted human!

In fugs 3 movements, Athenae took a big towel, wrapped it over her body, and took her spear that pointed to Achilles.

– Who the fuck you are!? And what do you do here!?

– Ahhh! – The young man was scared by the female presence just noticed, and put his arms to cover – Who are you!? Why are you threat me like this?

– How do you dare to use that voice to a Goddess!?

– Goddess?

Achilles lowered his arms to see Athena, but his eyes were first set where he was and realized the entire spa. A smile of satisfaction was drawn on his face.

– Yes! I found Goddesses bath!

– Last thing you'll see, human!

Athena was launched to the attack towards Achilles with spear in hand. He was about to turn around and run to see the furious goddess pug on him, but he remembered his combat against Diomedes.

And did same as his opponent: his mind and body acted at the same time, so when as Athena was a few centimeters, give a quarter to turn it out.

The goddess fell into the trap: before could react stumbled and fell on the ground with a deaf blow. Achilles saw the result and a feeling of pride emerged from his heart.

– Amazing! That movement was much faster than Diomedes'! – opened and closed his fists several times – That Ambrosia worked very well!

Athena raised his face with a lot of anger, holding with a hand towards the towel and in the other her spear.

Although in her heart was a great anger, both for being naked and had been humiliated by a human, another thing called her attention: hear 2 times "Ambrosia" from human lips.

Achilles turned to Athena, who was still pulled on the ground. Then the boy realized what did.

– I-I just let fall a woman! I'm an irrespetuous! – approached slowly – Are you okay?

– Hey! No touching me!

Athena of a jump got up and stayed at the defensive against Achilles, who fled a couple of steps scared for that fast jump.

Her pride hurt, Athena swallowed her anger and directed her eyes at the boy; but seeing him up close made her take in the details of his muscular body, causing her to blush again. Then spoke to him with authority.

– You! What did you say it worked?

Achilles, waiting for another answer or threat, responded instantly with confusion.

– Am… Ambrosia…

Athena opened his eyes very surprised.

– What? Do you drink Ambrosia and still alive?

Achilles was surprised, so he released a sarcastic response.

– I don't think the dead world looks like this.

Athena under the guard and whispered for itself.

– So you're worthy of drinking it. A fair warrior of good heart… or very idiot and ignorant to drink it without knowing what is…

– Huh?

– Nothing, mine assumptions. – Er throat was clarified – So… it seems to be-

Athena was about to give a monologue when remembered was still in towel in front of the half naked boy, so she reached angry with shame.

– Hey! I'm still naked, perverted!

– Huh!?

– Cover your eyes and don't see me! Now!

Achilles per instinct covered his face. Very angry Athena walked to spa, and on a quick movement left the towel and went back to the water. The young man was surprised as he heard the splashing of water.

– What do you do? Are you going to bathe?

– Are you an idiot? You let me fall on the floor so I'm dirty. Now I have to re-clean me.

– Okay. – Achilles was to stay quiet, but he continued to speak – Hey… Said something about Goddess, right?

– So?

– You said… or, better confirmed, this spa is from Gods.

– What is your point, human?

– Then… you're a Goddess?

Athena was surprised by Achilles's question, and responded with total calm.

– Of course I am.

– Huh!? Then I offer my apologies! – The young man turned and crouched until touch the floor with his forehead in reverence sign – I offer my prayers and pleas, to you and all Gods! Forgive me for being with you, and for having dropped you on the ground! I-I didn't know you're a Goddess!

– I noticed you didn't know it. But don't have to be so altered… – Athena raised her shoulders very calm – Since you're also a God.

– What? A God?

Achilles looked up, but Athena immediately reigned it again.

– I said no looks!

Achilles immediately covered himself again, while Athena continued with her bath; but now she rushed in without taking the time to enjoy. A couple of minutes later, Achilles heard the voice of the Goddess again.

– Well. You can look.

Achilles discovered his face and found Athena using a long white bathrobe with beige stuffed on neck. The Goddess took a seat in the same bank where the towels were, and palmed it as an invitation to Achilles to sit next to her; but he denied immediately.

– I could not sit next to a Goddess.

– How you want. – Athena wasn't even to insist – Now, I was telling you… What's your name?

– M-My name…! – Achilles raised his hand like a soldier – My name is Achilles, a native of Thessaly.

– Okay, Achilles… pretty Achilles… – Athena sighed deeply – It's my pleasure inform you have become a God.

– A God? A God!? – Achilles took a hand to his head – Could you… Explain me?

– You drink my dad's blood, so your mortal body died giving rise to divine body. Not complicated to understand… or do you lose neurons in the process?

– Blood of… Your dad?

– What? Don't you know what Ambrosia is?

Achilles denied with shame.

– I'm afraid no. In Thessaly we don't have much knowledge about Gods; we only present our prayers.

Athena buffe annoyed in silence, but continued to speak.

– Never mind. For your information, what you took, Ambrosia, is blood of the Almighty Zeus, God Father of Cosmos.

– Blood… of Zeus – the boy was surprised, while he continued thinking – So… you are…?

– I was hoping you ask it…

Athena puffed out her chest and raised a hand with a proud expression, as began her monologue.

– Admire me, just converted God! I am Athena; Goddess of strategic war, wisdom, justice and freedom… You've been blessed when I find you! Any other Goddess would have killed you instantly, but I'll be merciful! And seeing you're a God, I'll forgive your sin and let you alive!

Achilles was very surprised and thoughtful. But among everything flooded his head, a question was asked.

– Goddess of the strategy? And what was a moment-

– DO NOT REMIND IT. – Athena warned him immediately, planting a furious look – Not even think to tell anyone. Or I'll regret letting you life.

– Yes. I'm so sorry – A boy apologized, down his head – To all this… Am I really a God?

– Well… My dad would have to make a awards ceremony, maybe after imposing 12 impossible non-sense works. Rather, you are a half-god.

– Award ceremony?

– In fact, I don't even know if it should be done. You're the first human drinks Ambrosia and lives to tell.

– Living to tell?

– Yes. If you drink Ambrosia without being worthy, you die.

Achilles was surprised immediately, and raised a cry to heaven.

– Damn you Patroclus! Right now I'll be hitting you for giving me that without knowing I could died!

– One last thing! I don't think you can go with your friend.

– … What?

Athena rose from the banking and walked Achilles.

– How I just told you, you're the first human drinks Ambrosia. The theory says you become a God, but I don't know. I have to take you with my dad to resolve this; if you really are a God, you'll have to stay in Olympus… forever.

– What?! Why does it?

– Think it for a moment… What would happen if a human with divine body lives between humans? Could not this very problematic?

Achilles remained silent, thinking the Goddess was right in it. And a last doubt came out of his mouth.

– If I am a God, what will happen to my friends…?

– I don't think you can see them again. According Poseidon uncle, Gods duty is perfect and reserved. Therefore, your relationship with human beings would have to be null.

– But… I've heard you help humans… very close…

– I have privileges for being Zeus daughter. But you, as a newly converted God, may not do it. You know, to avoid misunderstandings.

The mood of Achilles decreased chopped, like his body fell to his knees to ground heavily. The Goddess, close to him, scourned with nostalgic empathy and with her extended hand palmed his shoulder.

– It was very bad idea you drink Ambrosia. Since the first drop touched your body, all your life has changed.

Athena remembered what had said a while ago, and launched a sigh.

– Pass from being a human guy in this wonderful world to a God who must fulfill a role in Heaven. I don't think it's nice for a human.

– Now I see it.

Athena was confused enough.

– You didn't even know what shit you took. So why did you drink it?

– It's for a dream I… I had…

Even he was amused, Achilles began explaining and Athena paid attention.

– I wanted to be a soldier, to take care of my homeland and my loved ones… those who left. I wanted to be stronger to fulfill that dream… Protect my people, fight in the war on behalf of Thessaly, and bring security to my land. Not as… with my parents…

– Your parents? What did happen to they?

– There was an invasion on my land a long time ago, and my parents died because no one could defend us.

Achilles saw his closed fist.

– I wanted to change that, that's why I decided to become a soldier. And I also thought Troy war could help me, but… now I have what I wanted, I won't be able to fulfill my-

– Huh? You're also in that!?

Athena interrupted him immediately, to express her anger.

– I expected at least one human had his noses out of Troy!

– What? So famous is it?

– Obvious! In Olympo there was a chaos 'cause Troy.

Athena began a curious dance to explain what happened in Heavens.

– On the one hand, some of my sisters, Ares idiot and his bitch Afrodite, and uncles are in favor of Troy to a new empire. On the other hand, my other sisters, Hermes cute and uncles against Troy because they're stupid. There was so much burdens my dad wanted to prohibit any intervention, but at this point all the Gods have bet on their favorite.

– Oh, well… – Achilles was very surprised, so much released a laugh – It seems Gods aren't so different from humans.

– If you knew! We are very similar… But that's not the point! – Athena continued talking with anger – It's annoying it's in the mouth of all, but not being able to participate because my daddy would punish me… Do you know how annoying is the Goddess of war but not in the war?

– Eh… No. I just have a day of being a God.

– Sure… Wait a moment!

Athena's mind was lit, and began to walk in circles while still thinking. Achilles was confused with what she did, until the Goddess click her fingers and released a shout.

– I have it!

– Huh? What do you have?

– A perfect plan! In which you and I get what we want! A plan for you to live with humans and fulfill that dream of being soldier, and so that I participate in the Trojan war.

– Then tell me! – Achilles is suddenly excited.

Athena pointed with both hands to the human.

– I… I'll train you to be a soldier!

– Huh?

– Think about it! If I, the Goddess of wisdom and strategy, train you, surely you'll be a perfect soldier. On one hand, with infallible strategies, and on the other, a divine body no human weapon can damage. I'll talk to my dad to let you live here, but if I don't convince him at least you'll be here for the duration of the war… Meanwhile; I'll train you in person so I don't get bored, I can participate in the war without getting hurt. And in the end, when we win, you and I will have credits will go down in history… It's a wonderful plan and a great opportunity!

– S-Sounds very good! But…

Immediately Achilles remember what Diomedes had told him, who went down to his voice out.

– But… I don't think a head can win wars…

– Don't fucking say that!

Athena, without even hesitating, gave Achilles a slap which hurt him badly.

– Ahh! What the-!?

– I'm sick of hearing that shit thought… Of course wars win with head! That's why I'm the Goddess of strategy and wisdom, you stupid little foolish insensitive idiot!

– All right, I'm so sorry. I didn't want to… Make you angry… again…

Achilles caressed his cheek, while Athena extended a hand.

– And? Do you join my plan or not?

The boy thought about a couple of times, and then took the palm of Athena with pride.

– Of course! We comply with our dreams, Athena!

– You said it, my pretty Achilles!

Immersed in her thoughts, Athena remembered herself as the personal trainer of the half-god who was now fighting Huitzi to save humanity. With that in mind, her young face showed a cute smile.

– And that smile? – Ares asked curiously.

– I remember things… Many things… – Athena expressed thoughtfully – Things that confirm what will happen in this fight.

– And that is? – Hermes asked her.

– I trained Achilles in person so he doesn't lose. Not once – Athena felt very proud to say those words – I'm sure he won't lose so easily. And if that happens… he won't fall without first making me very proud.

Athena raised one of her hands happily.

– That's my pretty Achilles, the best job I've ever done!
