Chapter 11: Egypt Poseidon
The Japanese woman and Egyptian God kept their serene gazes towards each other.
The water around copied the movements of the opponents: agitations like Sobek's clothes, or light calm like Jingū's hair. This increased the tension among the spectators:
They knew the first move would define the fight; even first blows could reveal the winner. But, with that overwhelming silence the spectators could only keep their eyes fixed.
– Silence remains. And none of them are willing to launch its first blow… yet. – Heimdall spoke with the horn, in a cautious tone.
Although the spectators saw was silence, between the fighters there was a conflict present, which was the feeling with which each one looked at the opposite:
On one hand, Jingū looked to analyze Sobek's physical conditions: the thick scales on his skin, hands with long and sharp claws, innumerable teeth on his snout, the strong and scaly tail, his terrifying gaze; each part of body was a weapon, all together creating a visual tank.
Sobek, on the other hand, just ran his gaze up and down the woman, without giving it much thought; his eyes spoke for dignity and royalty. After that long time, the crocodile let out a weary sigh as relaxed his posture.
– No way! – spoke quite sarcastically – I'm here, against an empress who's the first female representative of humanity… It's something "new" for me.
The woman responded with silence, so Sobek continued speaking in his superior tone.
– You don't seem willing to talk. In that case, let me tell you a story. The story of how this weapon ended up in my hands…
The crocodile moved his staff to rotate it a couple of times, until stood still with the tip held high for the purpose of showing it off: embedded on the other side of his staff was Poseidon's trident; the upper part with its 3 spikes somewhat worn by use. The woman couldn't help showing some astonishment in her eyes.
– Poseidon's trident! – Lífthrasir smiled a lot. – So it's welded to his staff… He appropriated his title and his divine weapon!
– That's why he's the Egypt Poseidon! – Líf agreed with emotion – Anyway, Jingū will be able to face him.
– Do you like it? – the crocodile smiled at the woman, moving his weapon to continue showing off it – The proclaimed and revered trident of the second Olympian brother…
» It was hard for me to have this weapon in my hands, although the story is really short… You see, after the first Ragnarok, Greece was devastated by the terrible humiliation they suffered. – using the fingers of free hand began to count
» Lord Zeus, 'cause of the first father. Lord Poseidon, for the biggest loser. Hercules, for the worst killer. Lord Apollo, for the best sniper. When I think about it just feel a little sorry; especially since my predecessor, Lord and Judge Anubis, killed the emperor of China… Something curious in perspective with today…
The woman just frowned at her a little.
– How dares he talk about Greece like that!? – Ares was quite enraged by such a derogatory comment – We've set the venue for this tournament, so it reminds us of that!
– So heavy! – Athena complained in mockery – I understand why your name isn't anywhere.
– Aren't you outraged to hear that!?
– … To be honest no. I don't care.
– Typical of you! – Zeus replied, which caught the attention of Ares.
– Will you forgive him, father?
– She wasn't in the past Ragnarok, so yes. Besides she's my pretty princess.
While the argument between the Greeks was taking place, in arena Sobek continued to speak calmly to the woman.
– Whatever; after the first Ragnarok, Greece launched a "contest" for someone strong and worthy enough to take the mantle of Poseidon as the God of Gods. That offering arrived to Egypt gates, so I entered…
» The battles I fought were difficult and troublesome, but… I managed all it – a sharp arrogant smile appeared on his muzzle – Varuna, Danu and Ganga from India… Ahti and Coventina of the Celts… Gong gong and Shio-Zuchi of China… The few sons of Poseidon…
» All the Gods of the water and the sea were defeated by me, by these present hands, so I worthily have in them this majestic trident of Poseidon.
» And now I remember all this… – Sobek looked curiously at the human woman – You… You remind me of someone I fought against.
Jingū shifted a bit uncomfortably at his words.
– Yeah. You remind me a lot of my last opponent in that tournament, and maybe you know who she's: Amemasu, Japanese Goddess of tidal waves.
– Ahh!
– Ahh!
That final fight between Amemasu and Sobek was the most intense of the tournament, best seen in the great force and violence with which both hit each other and moved the currents of water around them. After having walked that path for 17 months, the Gods of all the pantheons eagerly awaited the proclamation of the next Poseidon.
The Goddess Amemasu hurled a turbulent wave of water directly at Sobek, fracturing his tough scales and sustaining serious injuries for the first time in the tournament's 17 months; blood ran in rivers alongside the water, staining the arena with crimson cataracts.
Sobek cried out in pain, bending to and digging his claws into the ground to resist the water; thanks to his muscles and hard scales, was able to resist until Amemasu, also moved by her tiredness, stopped using the waters.
Both deities breathed very heavily with agitation; both painting the ground with their blood coming out of their wounds. After lying on their stomachs to regain their strength, they rose back up to take offensive stances.
The Gods watching the fight raised their cheers and applause in support of their favorite God: the Egyptians for Sobek, because of Anubis's victory in Ragnarok; and the Japanese for Amemasu, to avenge Susano's death.
Zeus and Hades, the 2 Olympian brothers were the judges; was the youngest who had orchestrated everything to make the tournament, although Hades disagreed, and now they both sat in silence on their thrones watching the fight. Hades had a serious and indifferent face, while Zeus had the most expressive face of his.
– Don't you think we should stop the fight? – Hades commented with a hand on his chin – Both Gods are very exhausted; someone could die.
– Don't say that! – Zeus laughed coquettishly – They've spent a lot of time to get to this point; it wouldn't be fair for them to take away the honor of carrying Poseidon's trident. Although maybe it would've been better just to give it away.
– From there's the problem – Hades answered with a serious look for his brother – Why did you want to get rid of his things?
– I don't know about getting rid of him… It's taking the next step in the realm of the Gods!
The king of the Underworld returned his gaze to the arena, though not paying full attention to it.
– You shouldn't have done this contest. The only one who can have the title of Poseidon is my brother.
Amemasu smirked, though she had more wounds on her body compared to Sobek. However, by that time her power was above the crocodile.
– You should surrender, Egyptian God… I am more powerful than you; I'm the only one who can control the waters at this point… It's useless for you to keep resisting, even when you can.
– That's right… – answered the crocodile, breathing big gasps of air – At this point you're stronger than me, even when I don't have many wounds.
– So…? – Amemasu expressed a bit of concern – You just have to give up; I can take care of you after this, but you have to give up… Then why don't you?
– Why?… Why do I…?
Sobek whispered and closed his eyes for a moment, to remember the previous looks had received from 2 pairs of eyes so important to him.
– This is… on behalf of them… and of me…– raised his voice to the Japanese Goddess – I'm so sorry, Goddess of tidal waves! I have something to get!
– And what is that?
– The title of Egypt Poseidon! – Suddenly, the crocodile God stood up with his claws raised to brutally attack his rival – Only I can get the title of the God of Gods, and Tyrant king of the Seas!
– If you want to keep fighting so badly, then I won't have any more compassion! I'll crush you with all my power!
Amemasu raised her hands, over which the waters of the arena gathered to create a water drill which directed at Sobek.
Moments before impact, Sobek raised his arms in front to form an arrowhead; with it and his strength, broke the resistance of water and entered it, to start swimming inside the drill in direction of the Goddess. That scared her badly.
– That… you've done it before--!
With a very quick movement, Sobek jumped out of the drill and launched at the defenseless Goddess.
– Of course I did it before.
With a great crash Sobek fell on the Japanese Goddess and knocked her to the ground. With his legs clung her completely to the arena, his tail blocked her legs, and with his hands held her arms; Amemasu was left at Sobek's mercy.
Face to face both Gods looked at each other; Amemasu, confused and scared by the speed of the situation, and Sobek with pride and… greed. The Goddess tried to break free, but the crocodile's force was terribly overwhelming.
– Let go of me, Sobek! Let me get up--!
– But you couldn't have guessed I'd do it again.
Getting carried away by the frenzy he felt, Sobek opened his snout and without hesitation bit the Goddess's left arm. First squeezed with all his might to break it with a loud crack, and then in a circular motion tore off half of that limb. Amemasu could only let out a scream of piercing pain.
– Ahhhh! Let go of me, let go of me!
– Why couldn't you…?
The crocodile changed his gaze for tiny eyes expressed his great superiority, which instilled absolute terror in Amemasu.
– Because real kings and tyrants can predict their opponent. That's why you are not worthy.
Again opened his snout, to seriously wound the right shoulder of the Goddess; this time just a bite infused more pain into Amemasu, who only screamed and flailed at her instincts. And with blood on his teeth, Sobek turned his face away from him to give him a Poseidon-style look.
– Learn your place, insignificant Goddess of the sea.
With nothing else to do, Amemasu could only give in to despair in the form of tears.
– I-I give up! I fucking give up! But please, I beg you, don't kill me!
Hearing such a statement in humiliation, Sobek decided to release the Goddess from his grasp. Got up from the ground and allowed space for her to move away from; Amemasu fearfully used her intact arm to try and cover her open wounds and amputated her, in a whispering cry to avoid being heard.
The crocodile god looked up to see in the stands there was silence, astonishment and fear for such an aggressive ending.
Just before that silence devoured his pride, loud applause resounded in the arena. They turned to see Hades, the Helheim king, getting up from his seat to go to the arena.
– The truth is I didn't expect anything from this tournament, but… this ending, more than aggressive, is just like my brother would've done it…
Walking down some stairs appeared to take him to the central platform, the Greek God walked through it to reach Sobek. For his part, the crocodile went from having a proud face to a nervous and excited countenance to see Hades walk up to him.
The Greek reached the crocodile, and took one of its bloody arms to raise it in victory, and spoke to it in a friendly whisper.
– You're a warrior worthy to take possession of my younger brother's title… I hope you can keep it that way, Sobek.
– Y-Yes, my lord!
Saying that, Hades shouted towards the entire crowd.
– Here's Sobek, the winner of the G-O-G!
Quickly the silence in stands turned into clamor repeated in unison the name of the Egyptian God; he couldn't help it and let out a roar of victory to the sky.
In the palace on Mount Olympus, the Gods who had witnessed the throne of Greece as well as the previous participants, were formed in groups separated by a carpet led to the Zeus' throne.
Moments later Sobek appeared walking on such a carpet, wearing his divine Egyptian garments together with the bandage covered his wounds; despite the poor visual combination, the crocodile walked with great pride.
His confident and authoritative walk caught the attention of those present, putting aside their discussions to look at the Crocodile God until reached the throne where Zeus was sitting patiently.
The Crocodile God had given a sidelong glance, realizing the Japanese Gods were not present; something inside him felt guilty, but didn't let himself be carried away by it but turned his gaze straight ahead.
Zeus got down from his throne, and from a small table next to him took a crown with objects of sea animals.
– Attention. On this day we have a divine ascension; of Sobek, the Egyptian God of the Nile River, who has taken my elder brother's title as King of the Seas.
The crocodile god bowed in respect.
– Sobek, son of Seth. This title isn't just empty words; from today, you also take responsibility for my brother Poseidon as supreme God of the Seas over all pantheons and the human world flourishes in this millennium…
– I understand, lord Zeus. I accept this title and the responsibilities of it.
– In that case… – Zeus placed the sea crown on Sobek's head – I Zeus, God ruler of Mount Olympus and president of Valhalla Council, in front of the pantheons recognize this authority, I appoint you second sovereign of the seas .
Shortly after, some guards belonging to the Helheim, by the way they dressed, brought carrying a giant metal case they left on the table where Zeus had taken the crown. This in turn took the case, although its weight and size made him lose his balance a little, to finally leave it on the ground.
– As a gift from the Greek pantheon, we've been given to you the weapon was created by the Cyclops eons ago, and the most well-known weapon on Olympus, to carry out this task with great pride.
Zeus opened the case and Sobek looked in: there inside was his new divine weapon, which combined 2 artifacts.
On one side, the staff was owned by the Egyptian God since was appointed to take care of the Nile; a crocodile's head from which a sickle protruded. It was clearly rebuilt as the original had been destroyed during the tournament; in addition, its appearance shone and without any scratch or imperfection.
On the other hand, welded on the same staff to be part of it, Poseidon's trident; the 3 points of the weapon, with its decorations and metal looked worn and old. It confirmed that such a piece was neither a copy nor a restoration, but the original trident saw the end of his first master in Ragnarok.
The God took the weapon in one hand and raised it, being so amazed his eyes shone like a little child. And with that Zeus ended the ceremony.
– Congratulations Sobek… The Egypt Poseidon.
The Crocodile God toyed with his trident by moving it from side to side. Jingū just looked at him with attention and serenity; all the eye movements she made were for the purpose of understanding what her rival was doing.
– I fought and defeated all those Gods. They ended up on their knees before me, and now I'll fight against a representative of humanity in Ragnarok… – with that idea in mind let out an arrogant laugh – Trust me; this will be a lot of fun.
In the Greek seats, Ares put hands to his chin in fright.
– I still remember it. That violent way he defeated Amemasu… It was horrible!
– So much I'd have liked to see that battle! – Athena complained – The closest thing to that was messaging with Hermes, although he only talked to me about the bets and games of chance the Gods made.
– Bets?
– F-From my point of view, which was guarding what was happening outside the stadium! – Hermes corrected himself immediately – But… without a doubt, the best thing was that combat arena and the fights between the Gods of the sea.
– And, since I saw it in person… – Zeus smiled maliciously – I can assure you, that human will lose this fight.
In the stands of humanity, many were indignant at the lack of movement of the fight for which they murmured; but more than anything, the aggressiveness in the stands was due to the presence of a woman to fight.
– They should've already started.
– She shouldn't be there. She's not even fighting.
– You're right. She must have already thrown the first punch at her.
– Get her out of the arena!
– Don't say that! She's fighting for us!
Líf and Lífthrasir, now sitting in Geir's chair, were greatly incensed at the way the humans behaved. From the seat they both complained loudly.
– They're a bunch of idiots! Questioning Jingū Kougou who's willing to fight the great Sobek for them!
– You're right, sis… They're the ones who shouldn't be in this Ragnarok!
– If only we were like big sis Hrist…! We'd go and punch those idiotic faces of yours!
– Calm down little ones.
The little pair were surprised to hear the voice of their favorite swordsman behind the chair. Turned their heads in excitement, and their eyes shone like little lanterns.
– Sasaki Kojirou! The matchless one under the heavens!
– You came all the way here, Kojiro!
– Actually, I've been here since yesterday. – approached the girls – But don't worry about Jingū, or what they say about her in the stands.
– Why not? Everyone criticizes her senselessly!
– They want her out of the arena when none of them would have the courage to stand in that same position!
– It's true, but… she wasn't the only one to be booed. – commented the Japanese with a lot of nostalgia – I was also criticized and rejected, before starting to fight against Poseidon.
– What!? It can't possibly be true!
– The matchless one under the heavens? I dont believe it!
– It's true. When I stepped onto the arena, many people in the stands, including people I had fought against, were outraged. And of course I understand; seeing an old man fight against a God sounds… – Sasaki laughed amused – It's very funny to hear it out loud.
– Don't say that! You fought bravely and proudly, and we know Jingū will do the same!
– I know that too. I was with her during the journey to this place; we trained my best sword moves together, and I taught him how to use Senju Musou, the "Thousand Images Defense".
– Teach us too! – The 2 Valkyries looked at him with emotion – To predict the movements of our rivals!
– Especially when we want to smash the old man from Zeus's face!
– Yessss!!
– Haha! I knew eventually you both would ask for it again – Sasaki turned to the sides and the corridor behind him to verify there was no one else – And, taking advantage of the fact your sisters aren't here, I'll teach you a little.
They both let out a squeal of excitement.
– Let's see… First of all, look at Sobek. –With his hands pointed to the crocodile in the sand – In a very detailed way, pay attention to each of Sobek's movements.
The 2 girls followed his instructions, while Sasaki kept talking.
– Even the smallest details matter, so don't lose sight of anything.
» The pattern with which his arms move… how many fingers hold the gun and how they move… the way he breathes and blinks… the involuntary movements of his tail… the undulations of his clothes with the passing of the wind… See and concentrate all that information in your head.
» Once you have all that, try to visualize what he could do. The next step… The next movement of his tail… The next blink… The next change of fingers.
» Once you've reached that point, you'll catch a glimpse of Sobek's first strike.
– It's very difficult! – Lífthrasir complained immediately, stroking her now sore head – There are many things to think about!
– Hold on! I have something…! – Líf squeezed her eyes when visualizing an attack, after which opened them with emotion – Yes! I saw it! Sobek could make a direct thrust with the trident!
Lifthrasir was quite surprised, while Sasaki applauded her.
– Yes! Well done; a direct thrust. And I'm surprised you could see something like that so soon and so clearly.
– Sis! Help me! – Lífthrasir begged, taking her from clothing.
Both sisters started talking to each other, while Sasaki looked back at the arena to change his smile into a worried face.
« Jingū, I hope you've been able to learn enough from me to… be able to see what lies ahead… »
A few small beads of sweat broke out on his forehead, which quickly wiped away so the Valkyries wouldn't see it.
« Now I understand why Sobek is so much worse than Poseidon… So far in the fight, he has already killed you 50 times and me 38 times. Please be very careful… »
Despite the time of silence in which the God was moving from side to side with the trident in hand, Jingū did absolutely nothing. This annoyed Sobek somewhat.
– What a waste, being in this arena and doing nothing.
Changed his stance quickly; brought his legs together like a soldier, his tail supporting him for balance, and raised his hand holding the gun to aim at Jingū.
– If you allow me, your Majesty, it's time to fight.
In little less than an instant, Sobek's right arm sped to Jingū's left, and slashed at the skin on her limb to make a shallow cut.
Despite the "simplicity" of the blow, the force and speed were so unexpected Jingū gave a small cry of pain and surprise, and dropped his sword. From the momentum, the weapon went to the edge of the platform.
– Has already started! – Heimdall exclaimed surprised – Sobek is the first to attack, wounding Jingū's arm with a single thrust!
– Huh!? Have they already started!? – Líf and Lífthrasir stopped their discussion to pay attention.
– Oh~! – Athena smiled like a little girl – What a good view~
Instead Ares was somewhat annoyed.
– Did he points for the left arm on purpose? He shouldn't have attacked right into body to kill her?
– It's so obvious he pointed for the arm, idiot! I'm sure Sobek won't want to end this quickly.
– Why not?
– He must be just like me… – Athena smiled very amused – He wants a good fight to have fun! So it's possible he plays with Jingū a bit.
In the arena, the woman touched her arm to confirm it wasn't a serious injury, but the red stain came from it made it look worse. Sobek sighed with a sarcastic smile.
– What did you think, Your Majesty? Did you like that shot?
The woman turned to the sides, to find her gun lying on the ground near the shore. Carefully, though slightly losing her focus on Sobek, walked slowly toward it to retrieve it.
Once had the sword in front of her, reached down to grab the handle of her with both hands; secured it with a strong grip, and she stood up again.
Without expecting it, she found the tips of the crocodile God's trident barely inches from her face, and barely managed to hear a few words from the Egyptian.
– Don't disappoint me… Your Majesty.
With another quick, almost inhuman movement, the tip of the sword interposed between the spaces of the rival weapon; the clash of arms happened, and imposing all her forces, the woman was able to stop the advance of the trident. Even so, the longer point of the trident struck Jingū's cheek, causing a small drop of blood to flow out.
– Awesome! Sobek launched his second thrust straight at Jingū's face, but she was able to interpose her sword in time!
The crocodile God then put more of his strength into pushing the trident. With that, the woman realized no matter how much resistance put up, the weapon kept moving and piercing her cheek a little more. The difference was clear and abysmal.
But a few moments later Sobek changed his tack; jumped back and removed the trident from Jingū's face, giving the Japanese a respite was reflected immediately.
The woman almost dropped the sword again, but only had to squeeze her trembling hands to keep it in place. Sobek noticed this and gave a superior look.
– Hmph…
The Valkyrie sisters were surprised and astonished at such swift movements.
– S-Sobek is…! Too fast!
– It even seems more than Poseidon was! I could barely see his movements!
– B-But I predicted one in my head! – Líf stood up proudly – I could see he would throw the trident at Jingū's face, but not in time.
– Then, it's no use predicting it if you can't help it!
Sasaki felt fear before such second Tyrant of the Seas; those two direct hits so soon made him sweat.
« I had already anticipated Sobek would be more aggressive than Poseidon, but now I see him live… he's a complete monster! »
The God struck the ground a couple of times with trident, whereupon the water around began to churn in waves, as well as releasing a sea-like wisp onto the platform. Then leaned forward and pointed at the human.
– Very well Majesty… Let's continue!
In a jump, the crocodile came a few meters from the human and returned to throw the tips of the trident for another cut; Jingū was slow to react, managing to unconsciously interpose her sword to move the rival weapon away from her. The God took a step back, shifting his balance point to deliver another direct blow, which this time was dodged by the tilt of the woman's body.
And so they entered into a little fighting dance, Sobek throwing continuous direct thrusts while Jingū dodged the blows or used the sword to push him away.
– The fight has begun! After the calm, both rivals have started their storm of attacks in a brutal way!
– How exciting! – Athena gave another childish smile – I didn't expect Sobek to be the one to take the lead.
– If he hadn't taken it, we'd still be waiting – Ares spoke nonchalantly – It's obvious that woman isn't going to fight.
– Don't talk nonsense, Ares! – corrected the Goddess immediately – I'm 100% sure she has been fighting in her head against Sobek, just as Sasaki Kojiro fought against Poseidon before facing him.
– Although… For having fought in her mind, I'm very surprised at Jingū's little response. – Hermes's comment, noticing the desperation with which the woman moved – She should've foreseen Sobek's first 2 thrusts, and now should also foresee his attacks.
– But they were very fast… – Ares spoke in favor of the crocodile – Just like Poseidon's last attacks!
– Don't get impatient! – Athena caught the attention of the Greeks, then crossed her arms and looked with emotion at the human fighter – That female empress, Jingū Kougou, has many skills and tricks to fight this war against Sobek; we have a show ahead to watch.
– Sobek throws and throws her blows with ferocity, but Jingū resigns herself to just dodge and counter the blows, with the edge of her sword!
The woman managed to swing her sword fast enough to avoid most of Sobek's blows; but a few could have hurt her, such as light cuts on her clothes, a small flying stone hitting her, lightly bloody scratches on her hands, and a few strands of hair being shaken by the speed of the ground.
Everything was minimal, but much more damage than could be counted. Sobek hit with randomness, hitting more on the arena than on woman herself; another reason why Jingū resisted that combat rhythm.
However, the humans on the other side complained about the match especially because of Jingū's response on such.
– She should have attacked Sobek by now! She's just dodging!
– You shouldn't say that. She's fighting with what she has.
– In addition, Sasaki Kojiro, our first winner, also did so.
– But he could win!
– Be quiet, all of you!
The humans fell silent suddenly upon hearing such a voice, with a youthful but at the same time authoritative and firm tone startled.
That was a young man, perhaps 20 or 25 years old, with a distinguished and elegant complexion. But, what stood out from his physique was clothing: royal robes posed from shoulders to the tips of feet, a few jewelry to decorate him, a distinguished hat perched on his head, and a cushion under legs to give him a more comfortable view.
With such an appearance the humans around him knew this boy was someone belonging to the upper class or… even royalty.
– You…! Who are you?
Japanese soldiers who stood around him like guards were the ones speaking in a respectful exclamation.
– He's Emperor Hachiman of the lands of the Rising Sun… Emperor Oujin!
– How can you all say such things about her? Oujin asked the stands indignantly – She's standing there, representing humanity!
Even with that, some of the audience were still quite upset.
– You say it because she's an empress, aren't?
– Not only for that… – the young man raised a hand to his chest with pride – Because she's my mother!
They all looked at him confused and embarrassed; however, Emperor Oujin, in a moment of silence, dedicated himself to looking at the fighting arena, especially at the woman on that platform.
« C'mon mom… You can do it! I know you can win!… »
Jingū moved the sword in her hands continuously, whereupon the screeching of metal against metal filled the silence between the two fighters. However, at one point, she was able to use her strength to bring the trident to the ground and thus deflect the impact of his blow.
– Between the thrusts, Jingū Kougou breaks through!
– Finally something more interesting is coming! – Athena's eyes shone with childish emotion.
– Sasaki! Sasaki! – Líf and Lífthrasir suddenly became excited, before their heads lost capacity from becoming dizzy with such power – W-We saw it! She's going to…!
In one jump, the woman shortened distance from the God to enter his personal space, and she with all her strength swung the sword from top to bottom, although the deity made a quarter turn to avoid it.
But, as soon as the sword almost touched the ground, the woman with renewed strength changed the direction of trajectory and ended up traversing the sword from the ground to the air but from the God's blind spot. Without avoiding it, the torso, chest and part of the Sobek's snout were hit squarely before the sword; the only thing the God could do was back off.
– I can't believe it! Jingū Kougou has made her first attack against Sobek! And it was a Tsubame Gaeshi from Sasaki Kojiro, which hit Sobek squarely!
But even with the excitement arose in the stands… there was a big difference between the two attacks. The one released 1000 years ago by Sasaki, and the one just made by Jingū.
The Crocodile God passed his hand where had felt the edge of the sword, nothing more because of that tingling felt on his scales. It was a curious tickle… and fun; unlike Poseidon, Sobek's body was totally unharmed.
The woman's eyes narrowed as swallowed hard; Sobek stared at the claws on her hand silently, then smiled at the woman.
– Not bad Your Majesty, but… I hope you have a more original technique.
– Cannot be! – Heimdall couldn't believe it either – Despite having received in full the metallic sword of an onna bugeisha, the God Sobek is unharmed! Not even a single scratch on his body!
In the Greek seats, Athena let out a round of applause.
– That was wonderful! I'm finally able to contemplate the smug Tsubame Gaeshi technique… A slash, from the enemy's blind spot, like no other!
On the other hand, her eyes shone with that golden light, indicating now that technique would be engraved in her mind…
– That was incredible! – Líf and Lífthrasir shouted together, also excited by such a technique – Too beautiful to contemplate live with our pairs of little eyes!
Although outwardly Sasaki was calm, still worried about the second Tyrant of the Seas; every time saw him do something unique and new, he was filled with wonder and fear.
« It's not possible. Miyamoto received 2 cuts to his face; even Poseidon lost some of his hair. But that crocodile is unharmed; my best attack had no effect on him, other than tickling. »
In the midst of his concern for the crocodile, a second thought entered his head as analyzed Jingū's movements.
« Another thing is… Senju Musou. Jingū isn't using her well; I see she doesn't seem to perceive any of Sobek's attacks correctly, so doesn't easily dodge or counter them.
» It's an exaggerated thought, considering how few time we had to train, but… I know she can use it, even in its smallest form! If she wants to fight this Poseidon, must use it! »
Lastly, Jingū was the least outstanding in the arena.
She clenched both hands to the sword, and although the tip was raised offensively, there was a slight tremor to it coming from her limbs. The crocodile, noticing this, did nothing but play with his divine weapon again.
As Sobek spun the trident in a circle, as if he was preparing his next attack, Jingū held a single thought; such caused her a lot of worry and anguish, which could even be glimpsed on her face.
« What… what should I do? I can't see anything… I can't guess any of his attacks, and I can't see which will be next either… What am I going to do…? »
