HOSEOK FOCUS

Staring at surveillance cameras wasn't the most idea job―at least, not for Hoseok anyways. It wasn't as though anything really ever happened, and it got boring from time to time. He would've much rather be out helping the customers directly.

But Hoseok's new co-worker thought otherwise.

"I love my job." Yoongi declared for the third time the day, and Hoseok let out a laugh as he turned from his glowing screens to face his companion.

"Because there's not much work to do?" Hoseok asked, trying to guess Yoongi's new reasoning. With every declaration came different justifications, the previous ones being that "the job payed well" and that Yoongi got to "catch up on some overdue sleep".

"No," Yoongi replied to Hoseok's earlier guess in a tone that stated the answer obvious. "I have the nicest co-worker who smiles like the literal sun."

Heat crept up Hoseok's face at the praise, him letting out a tiny squeak in reaction to the unexpected compliment.

"W-what?"

Yoongi laughed at Hoseok's reaction, finding it all just too cute. "You're adorable."

Now the blushing boy was becoming a literal tomato, his face on fire from his friend's words.

"I-I'm going to go out and patrol the building, it's already three o'clock." With the stuttered, yet rushed, announcement, Hoseok left the security room in a hurry, wanting nothing more than to escape Yoongi's knowing smirk and attention.

Why was his heart beating so fast?

Shaking his head in an attempt to dispose of the strange feeling in his chest, Hoseok clutched his intercom at his waist and ran ahead to the entrance.

On his way to the corridor, Hoseok helped a trio of college students find where the cameras and filming supplies were. "First time at Costco." The one with the grey hair stated with a box shaped smile.

He also had the pleasure to help an engaged couple decide on the type of wine they wanted for a small party they were hosting. The amount of affection they showed each other made Hoseok smile.

It were days like this when he could help customers on his way to patrol that brought him most joy.

It was nice to lend out a hand and assist.

When he finally reached the immense entryway, Hoseok walked out of the building to help out Jiho with pushing the long chain of shopping carts.

That's when they heard a deafening crash.

Jolting in shock, Hoseok twisted his body towards the direction of the commotion to be greeted with a sight of a whole line of cars crashed into each other.

And a figure racing towards the building on all fours.

It seemed about a hundred or so meters away, but it was definitely there and heading for them. At an unimaginably fast speed.

"Hyung, what's that?"

Jiho's frightened yelling was the last thing Hoseok heard before he snatched up his intercom and started shouting in, running inside along with Jiho and a whole startled crowd of customers.

"Yoongi hyung, you have to close down the shutters!"

Panic was woven into Hoseok's voice as he angled back to see how much progress the figure had made.

It was only about fifty meters away from the entrance now.

Closer, Hoseok could tell that it wasn't a wild animal or a person. It was bleeding all over and had extremely white eyes with visible red veins.

"Hyung, hyung, hyung! You have to close down the shutters now!"

Just then, the shutters started shifting down, rumbling loudly as it did.

Standing inside the building, Hoseok could only pray that the shutters would close down before the figure made it in.

The shutters were half way down and the figure was only about twenty meters away.

Please―

Ten meters away.

Five meters away.

The view became more terrifying as the distance in between decreased.

Bang! The shutters closed down completely.

But the shutters were too slow.

The creature had made it in―or at least, it's upper body did.
